This restaurant popped up seemingly out of nowhere. Just 11 months ago, where this Shake Shack now stands was a sprawling parking lot where you could see clear across the town square. Now it's a burger joint. While out and about in Southlake, I decided to pop in Shake Shack and take advantage of an AMEX deal on my card. I had never tried Shake Shack before, so I figured this was as good a chance as any. I ordered a bacon burger, fries, and an Oreo shake. My food came out fairly quickly, it was fresh, and I took it to go (which ended up being a great idea because seating space was nonexistent). Pros: good location in Southlake, fresh food, decent variety within the menu options Cons: minimal seating (especially during winter), they allow dogs in the restaurant? - this did not appear to be a service animal, prices are a bit steep Overall, I would come back but not on a frequent basis given the tricky parking, construction, and lack of seating space within the restaurant. read more

Burgers are pretty good! However, it is way too expensive for what you receive. Burgers and fries are individually priced. So you end up paying well over $11 for a double cheeseburger and fry. I even had water to drink. If you are planning on going wait a couple more months until it is not as new because it is fairly busy majority of the time and there is not much seating indoors. Well, well, well. What to say, what to say! We ate here last night at the yelp elite event and it was kind-of half & half in opinions. I like the place but, they really need to do something about the evening sun comin thru the front windows. The people are really nice and helpful, but again the food was just so-so. I mean the burgers are a little small for the price but taste good, the frys are crinkle cut an salty and I loved them. Oh yeah! They do have cold beer, even though it's all craft beer, some can and some draft. Wine also. Now the ? is, will I go back or not, well maybe, if I want a light lunch and i'm in the area. Shake shack is one of my go-to burger places. I've been to multiple locations across the nation, so of course I had to try their Southlake location. Tbh, the burger sizes may be small if you're super hungry or if you tend to eat larger portions. For me, however, the size of the burgers are perfect. I've tried their shack burger and the chicken sandwich - both which I recommend. The shack burger is your traditional cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and shake sauce. Their chicken sandwich is super crispy and thick. My friend tried the portobello burger and loved how they incorporated cheese into the mushroom - only wished there was some sort of protein. As far as fries, I'd go for their plain fries - the cheese fries and bacon cheese fries are mediocre. And don't leave without getting a milkshake! Over-Priced, Average Taste, Long Wait. I'm a Burger Buff. When it comes to burgers, I'll tell you anything you need to know about making, cooking, eating, where buy, and where to avoid. Don't avoid this place, but only go if there aren't better places close. I've heard amazing things about this place. But this is middle-of-the-road at best. The quality is good, the flavors are decent, but the size is on the smaller of the under-average for this price point. I had a single patty with cheese and bacon on a bun, a side of fries, and water to drink and paid more than the better-tasting double patty burger with more toppings and fry portion four times bigger at one of their competitors closer by. They quoted me 5-7 minutes wait at the register. After 21 minutes I finally got up to investigate only to wait standing at the counter for another 3-4 minutes to receive my food. I'll walk instead of drive to their competitor which is closer to eat a tastier and bigger burger for less money and half the wait. I'll go back--it wasn't bad--but only if someone else is spending the cash. read more

My son and I gave them a try. I thought they were ok, but over priced. The atmosphere was loud but that's to be expected being a burger joint. The fries were good. They did have a pretty good selection of burgers and chicken sandwiches to choose from but they were good not great. The star of the meal was the flavored lemonade and the root beer. The staff was courteous and attentive. The restaurant was clean even though they were busy! Parking stinks,especially as handicapped. Excellent and efficient Shake Shack and a wonderful quick eats destination at Southlake Towne Center. I really think the Shack burger is the BEST for the seasonings and thin, nicely cooked patties. Order with lettuce wrap to be a bit healthier then splurge for the Peppermint Milkshake (holiday deliciousness)! Parking lot is convenient and you can order on the App with all the customization you can think of. Outside dining is nice and plenty of room inside with sports on tv's and refillable drinks. I recommend eating there because the signature Shake Shack meat taste (gosh it's good) and flavor of the burger is so good piping hot! I'm not a fan of crinkle fries but they are cooked perfectly here and nicely salted. I've been to other Shack locations in other states and the consistency is always spot on. We were in the area waiting to pick someone up from the airport and decided to try them out. They sell everything individually so there are no combos that you can choose from...oh well. It was myself and my two children. You order up front & then have a seat. I got the Link Burger with no bun & wrapped in lettuce, and the kids got Cheeseburgers. We also got an order of fries & cheese fries to share, two drinks, and one strawberry milkshake. I was happy they accommodated my no bun request. They give you a pager to wait on your food. We had a seat and it didn't take too long to get our food. Everything looked good when it arrived and tasted good. The kids like their burgers with just cheese & burger so it was perfect for them. My link burger had a link, burger patty, cheese, and wrapped in lettuce. It was pretty good as well. The link had some spice to it which was great. The fries were also good. I didn't taste the milkshake since I split it up for my kids to have and they enjoyed it. For all of this it was about $40 so a bit pricey for burgers, fries, & shakes for 3 people, but it was pretty good. We'd try it out again. read more

I had Shake Shack today after only previously having tried the chain when I visited Houston this past Summer. I had the Shake Shake burger and an order of cheese fries. The fries are crinkle cut which I love and were seasoned well but not overly salted. Cheese sauce=YUM. The sauce they use on the burger is delicious. The food is made with good quality ingredients and seems fresh. The only thing missing from this experience was the slight "crust" (for lack of a better word) that was present on the burger I had at the Shake Shack in Houston. There is sooooo much extra flavor in that crust. I think the lack of crust was due to the fact that my burger patty was cooked medium well and not well done, there was still a bit of pink. I assumed they all came well done? Do they not? Either way I was very happy with my meal there. Very excited to have a Shake Shack so close to home. Next time I will ask for my patty to be well done and see if I can get that crust that shows in the pictures on the website. read more

So my son and I happened to be stopping by a store near by right before lunch so we decided to give this place a try. Neither of us had been there before, but I luckily had looked at the menu before getting there as the girl taking our order seemed just annoyed generally speaking. She also gave us our food. Possibly cause they seemed to have a steady stream of people coming in during the 1115/1130 time frame. All of the other employees seemed pleasant but only interacted with us when I asked for a bag vs seeing them check in with other customers as I was clearing our table and packing up what my son didn't finish of his meal. We had a burger which was on the greasy side, a shake which was good, two orders of fries which were good but on the salty side, and my son had a hot dog which looked better than my burger. He said it tasted better based off of the bite he took of my burger to try it. I'm sure we'll give it another shot when we have the rest of the family and are in the area, but not sure we'd drive out of the way for it. read more

Don't let the bad reviews fool you. We came here for the first time fo try it out and didn't think it would live up to the hype. The burgers have thin patties and have a great grilled taste. The buns are soft and semi sweet. The sauce they put on all the burgers is better than in and outs. The burgers are more on the expensive side for the size of them but it's worth it. You can get two burgers, two orders of fries and two drinks for $25.00. In my opinion, that's pretty average for a casual dining experience. The place is really clean and you don't have to wait forever for your food. I highly recommend coming here for a good casual lunch if you're in the area shopping near the town center! read more

Feel like I need to make a shirt that says, I was first at the Southlake location. And couldn't be happier! Smoke shack and hot dog! Don't forget the fries and cheese sauce. And the pie and custard. Glad to finally have a Shake Shack in Southlake, which is better for the mid-city peeps! Came here with the GF on a Friday night, and the line ran outside the door. However, the staff here are extremely professional and efficient, so we got our order placed in about 10 minutes. It is a bit pricey because there is no combo meal, so fries, burgers, and a drink have to be ordered separately. Unfortunately, we forgot to order fries, but we ordered 2 burgers (Link burger and shroom burger), and the special edition dragonglass shake! The burgers are a decent size, but if you're super hungry, make sure to get fries as well. I don't think the link burger is on most Shake Shack menus, so I was able to try it out at this Southlake location. Honestly it was pretty great, there was a good amount of melted cheese, and a nice sausage with bacon and jalapeno. Also, my GF let me sample some of her shroom burger and the mushroom was stuffed with a lot of gooey cheese, so make sure you're not lactose intolerant. Shroom burger was definitely a hit, and I didn't even realize it didn't come with a patty. In regards to the dragonglass shake, it came with a cool GoT cup. However, it was a bit mediocre because it was a little too sweet, and tasted just like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Overall, this Shake Shack location is great for a quick date night, and is not too noisy. Although it's on the pricier side for burgers, it is well worth the price. read more

I was a huge fan when this location opened. I was one of the first 10 customers. Now: meh. It's good when it's good, but the customer service slid way downhill. They also just lured me in with a BOGO coupon code for a Shack Burger only to find out it won't honer the free Shack Burger if your "buy one" is a DOUBLE Shack Burger. So it's, "we'll give you a free burger as long as you don't give us TOO much money"?? I chose not to be a bait and switch victim, at the cost of it messing up our plans for the afternoon. The positive: Yes this place is more expensive than McDonalds and you have to wait. I'd like to update my review. Please indulge me. The restaurant contacted me within a day to make things right. I think it's only fair to do so. The results were 180 degrees the opposite of my first experience. My wife and I shared the double smoke shack and a shak-ago dog (sp). The burger was great, had great caramelizing and juicy, bacon was don't perfect, and the shack sauce was tasty. The dog was a good measure for what it is representing. I've had great ChiDogs. This one was good and I'd have both again. The food served was plenty for her and me. In fact, she and I could have shared the burger and fries alone. And oh, we ordered fries. They were good. They get 5 stars because the food was great and the customer service can't be beat. We spent $17 on the three items that filled us plenty. I recommend this place now and have done so already. That just gross for others who had to drink shakes from the same machine my already drank shake was on. I yelled back at him and said, "dude, just make a new one!" He did not. So everyone after me got my cooties. No one in our group was happy. In fact, they all wished we went to steak and shake instead.
