Just got done to town from Texas, was looking for seafood boil, found this place and it was delicious!! Definitely would go back again!!

We live in the OBX and are here for a few weeks and were craving seafood. I did NOT have high hopes for anything close to the quality we get at the beach. WOW were we wrong! The steamer bags we had FAR exceeded our expectations. The shrimp were colossal and perfectly steamed and de veined. The king crab legs? Amongst the best we have EVER had. Huge, meaty, easy to cut with kitchen shears. We did carryout and the steam bags even traveled well. Garlic butter sauce was outstanding and quality of the food stood up to just plain old steamed as well. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Welp!!!! Here it goes. I was thoroughly upset that my Fave sushi spot was abruptly shut down. But then I heard about a new Seafood Place taking its spot. And who doesn't love seafood?? I mean maybe people that are allergic but hey I'm not in that catergory. I was super excited to try this place and more than happy that it is 5 minutes from my house. When I walked inside it was the same setup as the sushi place. We were seAted quickly, there was no wait and it was a Saturday early afternoon. The place is spacious also with a full Bar!!!! On to the Seafood!!!!delicious!!!! Seasoned so perfectly and every piece was so flavorful. I loved that you can combine all of the seasonings that they offer and pick your level of hotness. I had the boil which came with Mussels, Crab legs, Shrimp, Corn and Potatoes. The Server brings out your food in a blow up bag(see photo) and shakes that damn seasoning all around making your mouth water in anticipation. Well at least mine was!!!! NOW the reason for the lack of a Star is because they only give you ONE PIECE of corn!!!! I'm a corn lover and I was upset about that. Also I didn't get a cocktail because for me Seafood pairs great with a Beer and I'm not much of a Beer drinker. Will I be back??? Oh yes most definitely and I'm ordering extra Corn!!!!! There's nothing like intense stomach pains and peeing out your butt to make you never want to return to a restaurant. Service was extremely slow and lacking since I couldn't even get my drink refilled which made the experience even better. I could tell you the food was fairly tasty but, unless you're looking for a 24 hr cleanse that works better than any green juice you've ever had, probably not worth it. Thanks for helping the diet stay on track. And nothing bonds a couple quite like having food poisoning and sharing a bathroom, 5 stars for breaking down relationship barriers. read more

My son and I decided to try this new seafood restaurant in Pineville. It was a Saturday evening around 6:00 when we arrived and was surprised there was no wait. We were seated immediately, as the place was maybe a quarter full. The decor was nice and the place looked very clean and well kept. There were 5 other tables in our area, 2 of which were paying their bills and leaving. It was over 5 min. Before someone greeted us. At this point I ordered an iced tea and my adult son asked for water. I also ordered the hush puppies for an appetizer. Drinks came out right away but my iced tea had 2 ice cubes in it so asked for another cup of ice. About 12 min pass and our waiter has men MIA. A lady brought out the hush puppies and plopped the tiny basket down in the middle of the table without saying a word. I then asked her for the ice. So on our table is the white butcher paper they lay down and our 2 drinks, the menus and the HP. When she returned with the cup of ice, she said oh, I forgot to give you these and slapped down 2 single serving sized containers of Country Crock cinnamon butter. A different lady came and asked if we were ready to order. I ordered a boil special with shrimp, crab legs and mussels and my son ordered a combination with crab legs and clams. When asked how spicy we wanted it, I asked her to explain how that worked as we had never been there before. By now the other 3 tables had left and 2 new tables came in. There were about 5 different employees in our area. Nobody asked how the HP were or refilled our drinks. Our food came out in plastic bags tied in a knot on round silver plates. There was no "shake shake" . She mumbled something in another language to a different lady as she untied the knots and rolled back the plastic to expose the food inside. Now the other lady shows up with 2 styrofoam plates, 2 cheap plastic forks, and a metal bucket lined with more plastic. She sets it on the table and leaves. My son and I just look at each other. Inside the bucket we find plastic gloves and plastic bibs. We proceed to cover ourselves in plastic and dig in. The food was delicious!!!! He ordered his Cajun and I ordered garlic butter and both medium heat. Thank God I love garlic because it was loaded with it. We had to flag someone down to ask for crab crackers and crab forks, as it didn't come with any. Our original waiter brought us 1 crab cracker and they don't have the tiny forks. Nobody ever asked how everything was or if we needed/wanted anything else. When we finished, he came and took our plates and disappeared again. After 15 min of just waiting for our check (it was obvious we were ready to leave) we went to the front and asked if we could pay our bill. The gentleman up front was very nice, he apologized for us not getting the bill at the table but blamed it on them being "busy". I looked around and it was pretty empty for a Saturday night. This was the first time in a long time my tip reflected the service. Will I go back? Very doubtful when I'm spending that amount of money. *PROS: Food was delicious Clean environment and decor was subtle *CONS: Service .....or lack there of Styrofoam plates Cheap plastic utensils Maybe have the host ask people if they have been there before,and if not go over seasonings and spices. read more

I'm not the type to leave negative reviews but my goodness! My mom was in town visiting from Texas and this was near her hotel and it had great reviews here and on google, so we decided to go here for her birthday dinner. We get there and there's no system. They took 10-15 minutes before they even asked us what our name was to put us on the wait list. Keep in mind we were standing in front of the host booth and they only put us on there when we complained. There was a 30-35 minute wait, no problem. It's Saturday evening, we expected that much. Except for the fact people who walked in after us were getting seated before us. We get seated, and we order some waters and drinks. Our waitress isn't very friendly but we just put it off as that she's busy serving a lot of tables because they seem short staffed. She comes back a few minutes later to get our food order and brings us the oysters. Took the first bite and it was flavorless. I've had plenty of oysters and good oysters will have flavor and you add toppings to enhance. But no, these weren't good at all and they only gave us a small triangle of lemon for a dozen oysters, no sauces. We had to flag someone else down after waiting 10 minutes for cocktail sauce along with the fact that we had place our drinks orders 35 minutes prior and still hadn't received the two cocktails we ordered. Suddenly after flagging someone else down, our waitress reappears with our drinks not even a minute later. I get my drink and it's 3/4th full with majority ice. I said "can I get a full drink?" And she says she'll check with the bartender and never came back. We get our food a while later. Food wasn't the worst but wasn't worth everything we had gone through and I've definitely had better for cheaper and better service. They have potential, they just need better training and more workers. But I definitely won't be back. read more

Let me start with I love seafood, generally. We knew this was going to be a fairly basic seafood boil situation so we had an idea of the menu and food. I ordered a mixed bag with crab and shrimp(head off) in Shake special sauce (combo of all seasoning and sauces) and spice level medium. It came out SUPER quick however upon eating we were all underwhelmed. Another person in our party ordered a chicken po boy decent but needed more sauce. (However it is a seafood special place so take that as you will). The seafood itself was good, however the flavor incredibly underwhelming. Spice level was more like mild or none at all. We tasted garlic, and that was about it. Overall, it is a classic seafood boil spot, but definitely not a favorite especially considering it is not the biggest bang for your buck. read more

Went here with some friends during CIAA tournament weekend and I was definitely not disappointed. I ordered the Make your own seafood combo with the crab legs, black mussels and shrimp. Added the Shake Shake house mix seasoning with it spicy. It was very good with the right amount of seafood, I was barely able to finish it with the amount of shrimp that was in it. I just wish it was a little more spicier, but overall a wonderful dish and experience. I will definitely come back if I were to be on that side of town. read more

We first tried it in Concord,NC when we first moved from Texas, and we had an amazing experience dining here :) Tonight was our 2nd time eating at Shake Shack, and our server Christopher did an amazing job taking care of our needs quickly and efficiently while also helping serve a 12 top table with a large family in his section--ROCKSTAR Service! This place is great. The people are friendly and the food is delicious. There aren't any good seafood boil places around here...or at least there weren't, until now. I eat here as often as I can and recommend the medium spicy Cajun seasoning on whatever you get. At this point I am hooked on the Shrimp and Crawfish. This review is based off of two separate visits. First visit: The snow crab legs were tasty and reasonably priced. You get 1 potato and 1 corn on the cob with the order. The hard boiled eggs were a cooler temperature than the boil. The seasoning was tasty just not enough for me. The combo fish and shrimp option is not on the menu yet you can order combo plates. Second visit: Po boy shrimp sandwich was not the best. Too much bread, no mayo on the sandwich or packets of mayo. So the sandwich was dry. Nice amount of veggies and the shrimp was seasoned well; however, the tails were left on. I'll stick with boils next visit. read more

Never have I ever... enjoyed such a great experience at such a painfully, obviously understaffed restaurant! It was dinner on a rainy Friday night. We were seated in the bar area. The server, Antonio, who took care of us and made jokes with my husband, had the best energy I've ever encountered in a restaurant. He was efficient, accurate, funny (but not inappropriate or cringy), he was the bartender, the busboy--- he was holding the entire bar area down by himself and he didn't miss a beat. By the time we finished our meal, every booth in the bar area was full and people were beginning to take seats at the actual bar. Did this fluster Antonio? If it did, we couldn't tell! We just saw him zipping around, laughing with customers, mixing drinks, bringing out food-- really in his element. He interacted with our daughter like a cool, fun uncle. As busy as he was, he swooped by our table and personally packed her takeout box for her. The reason I was so impressed was because I could see and hear him giving this same 5 star service to everyone around us. I'm sorry, but in a time where everyone is short on manpower and even shorter on patience, this experience was a breath of fresh air, and it made a basic Friday night much nicer than I expected. What? Oh the food? It was very, very good. It was well seasoned, nice and hot, cooked well, and came out quickly. I must say, even if the service had been lackluster, I would go back for the seafood. We've been to another place like this a few years ago, a steam bag seafood joint in town, which I will not name or review, and we had vowed to never eat at another. But to spend quality time with our daughter, and at her request, we agreed to give this place a try. I thought they were all the same, but clearly they aren't. The staff is very rude. I was asking about my order and i was told the error was my fault and hung up on.

I was hoping this would be like the fish camps in Belmont, Gastonia but it's not. I actually may have given it a 3 but the staff was nice and that goes a long way. I got the fried flounder which was ok but kinda greasy, not fluffy/flaky. The hush puppies were under cooked. The fries were good. The slaw is average and you have to order it as a an additional side which was unusual. I'm not a seafood kind of person so I may come back with a friend and order something different. read more

The "Juicy" seasoning is legit! Had the dungeness crab combo. So good! No fishy taste. Not over cooked. I wouldn't order the oysters again. Butter and chunks of garlic on top not great. Was looking for a great seafood boil spot and this hit the spot! We started with the hush puppies and steamed oysters! Man the Cajun season was kicking! The oysters tasted very fresh! We also ordered the lobster seafood combo with the house special seasoning. Also had the shrimp and lobster combo too! We didn't leave not one bit left! The seasoning was so flavorful and loved the kick!! The seafood was so amazing and fresh! Came out very steaming hot!!! Definitely a place you'll get your hands dirty. The only reason for a 4 star was the server was a little timid and needed to be a little more attentive. We could barely hear him talk and it was a while before I could get a refill. read more

Just happen to drive by this place looking for a place near our hotel. The food was very very good, different, they bring a large bag with your seafood in it, they "shake it up" in front on you and then you open the clear plastic bag and start eating, you can pick your seasoning, and spice level. I spent 52.00 for garbage! I purchased a seafood fish basket, and received a ton of fries and one piece of hard fish. The fries were also cold and nasty. I also purchased a seafood boil. The shrimp was so mushy that I couldn't eat it. I will never go back this place again. I tired it out because Seafood Connection is no longer open.
