Hello we went to shakeys in Glendale, ca 1133 S Glendale blvd on Friday 10/12/12 ordered 1 medium pan pepperoni with jalapeno's there was only 8 apices of pepperoni on the pizza and very little cheese and 10 jalapeno's and a lot of tomato sauce, had to complain to the manager he said there should be 21 apices of pepperoni on the pizza, there was not I counted the pepperoni 8 total, he made a new one for me that had the correct amount, why is this, it took a hour and 1/2 to eat dinner. is the cook taking product home? I am shocked how depressing this place is. I had such happy memories as a child going to birthday parties. Now it's like you are in the matrix or something. If you're looking for a spot that keeps everyone pretty happy, this is probably it. Plenty of comfort foods to get everyone full, as well as a small salad bar, which I think I only saw people using to get ranch dressing... Anyway, tv's, beer, and comfort foods. So the ads finally drew me in :/ let me just say the price is ok but the food isn't..i guess you shouldn't go in expecting greatness but atleast add some salt and pepper.. THE BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA IN THE WORLD! Sorry but I freakin' love their pizza. It's definitely an acquired taste because the sauce is so tangy and the thin crust is so crispy yet doesn't break off your fillings. I want to do cartwheels as I write this but I just remembered that I don't know HOW to. Man, if I could only chase the kids out of this place... Growing up on the east coast, my experience of Shakey's was very different than it is for most folks out here in LA... Back home, when you go to Shakey's, there will be no little kids, an emphasis on the beer, and quality pizza. Here in LA, Shakey's is all about kids and buffets... It's a sad simulation of the east coast original. The fact remains though, if you avoid the buffet and take a fresh pizza to go, you can still get the Shakey's Pizza flavor that makes the whole thing worthwhile. Shakey's Pizza only appeals to a certain palate-- if spicy sauce, crispy crust, and a pie that is almost totally devoid of grease sounds good to you, then a Shakey's traditional crust pizza might be a good idea. Shakey's pizza doesn't fit into the normal major chain pizza mode, but in my opinion, that's a good thing. Seriously though, get it to go... The interiors of So-Cal Shakey's are very hard to deal with. read more

First of all they got my order wrong even when I specifically told them I wanted pan pizza, then we had to pay extra to change it but when we got it it was thin crust, so they took it back, we waited about an hour so we decided to get my money back and leave. Danny is the man! Came in for a fundraiser and order dine in and a separate pizza for take out. Daniel said to let them know when we're about to leave and they'll start our take out pizza. Both orders came at the same time, not a big deal and I was okay with it anyways. When we finished eating I was spending some time with my kids in the arcade then Daniel came up to me and apologized, he said I saw them bring your take out pizza with your dine in order so I'm going to make you a fresh one now. I told him it was not a big deal but he insisted on providing a fresh one. Places just don't provide customer service like this anymore and we truly appreciate Daniels service. Wild unattended kids will be distracted by the CHUCK E CHEESE style game room and the guys will be occupied by the large Hi DEF flat screens showcasing the finest in LA sports. The beer selection contain more up-to-date tastes in imported and domestic draft beers. The best time to dine would be between lunch and dinner. Make sure to put a dent in that stomach of yours with a plate of MOJOS. Service can be questionable at times. There hardly seem enough staff to clean up tables and keep the flow of food steady during buffet hours. I have been going here forever because my mom use to take me after my little league games, and i try to make to Bunch a lunch as much as I can. Parking is great here too because their is always spots open. Pepperoni pizza here is amazing, probably the best pepperoni pizza in Glendale. I can tell they're working hard on their ratings here- Here is why: 1- there were no less than three employees cycling around our table asking if we were ok, offering sauces and anything else they could offer. 2- it is very clean in here, including the bathroom. Tables were busses and wiped down promptly and I did not see a sticky floor anywhere. 3- the food was fresh, hot and fast. We got here at 6 on Friday and it was not busy. It's now 7:15 and it's still not busy. I am guessing the mediocre reviews are the reason why. **Give this location a try!** Games: my kids are happily wasting quarters in the back as I type. My sister informs me that the machines aren't as good here as the Alhambra and San Gabriel locations, which we have visited both in the last few months. (We live in Pasadena, so between all local locations.) Alcohol: we ordered some beer and wine- all was fresh and tasty, including the draft beer. Atmosphere: there are a lot of tables set up in long rows, great for groups. Unlike other shakey's, this one feels less cavernous and noisy. And they're pumping out some pretty awesome oldies music on the overhead- not too loud but loud enough to sing along. :-) Parking: free lot behind. Yes. The mojo potatoes, chicken and pizza are great. More than anything, Shakeys reminds me of my childhood and of some good memories with the family. The last time I was here, once again the food was delicious. But eating here, was an unpleasant experience. It was super hot inside (no air when the weather was about 100 degrees outside). The service was slow, and the noise level ridiculous. I get it that this place is family friendly and kids come here with their families. But they were not the ones making the noise. An obnoxious group of adults (drinking beer, sounding drunk, and talking extra extra loud like if they were far away from each other) made me want to pack my food and take it to go. I didn't it. But next time I crave some good potatoes and pizza, I will call and pick it up to eat in the comfort of my home. read more

Discontent customer suffered great distress, rudeness, and in professionalism at the hands of the store manager "Juan Cabral." As the store manager, he is to lead his staff by example, and not treat the customers with disrespect. He was the first point of contact, since he was at the register during the busy lunch rush. The store was busy, but he should set an example, and treat customers with upmost respect since he represents the brand. While in line, the previous customers asked for salad plates when they placed their order for the lunch buffet. He provided the plates without hesitation. I was the next customer in line and I placed the same order and requested a salad plate. He looked at me and told me, in front of other customers, are you trying to feed someone else since you are ordering another plate. I told him, to look around to see if I was ordering for someone else, and told him no, it is just me. Are you accusing trying to accuse me of stealing food. He then told me it was store policy to ask. I informed him that he did not ask the women who where before me, which means he is implying that I am going to steal food. I told him not to disrespect me in that manner because it was such an embarrassment to me that he was treating me in this such manner I front of other customers when he does not k ow me. I asked him to give me his name and the contact number to corporate, and he provided his name and left to the back. Great atmosphere. We went to Shakeys after a flag football game we had on Sunday. We got there right before 12 noon so we had no problems with seating 12 people. Their c.c machine was down. So all the parents chipped in their cash and we were able to get to family deals with the cash we had which was just enough for our kids to enjoy the manager was kind and comped all of our drinks. I really love their fried chicken it was good not greasy at all. They have a nice salad bar. They have dessert too.
