They've been there before, and it was my first time I liked the ambiance and appreciated the friendly and attentive staff. We aimed for mostly the seafood, fresh poke/sushi, and hot Chinese dishes. They were delicious. I saw the grilled satay, short ribs, and mackerel, but I didn't try because they looked dry sitting on the hot tray for a while maybe those need to be made to order. The large beef rib was tender and delicious and tasted similar to nilaga or lauya (Filipino style beef soup). I was surprised to see character baon there--so cute that I had to take a pic! How much they charge is worth all that. The staff does bring out their tambourines and sing happy birthday when requested. They'll also store cake in the fridge for you. The restaurant was also clean and well-maintained, which is always important when eating at a buffet. Nothing overly fancy or unusual--just a solid Asian buffet with lots of food, good flavors, and plenty of sushi. Come hungry and leave full!

I love the parsley salad, cabbage, roasted vegetables, the vegetable soup, and all the onions/tomatoes they have in some of the dishes on the buffet line. I LOVE rice (wow what a surprise) but here? It's such an afterthought for me. I will gladly eat all the roasted chicken, lamb shank, kofta, etc. with all the salads and veggies. It's the healthiest buffet I've ever been to. Sure, I might finish with a few bites of rice or a falafel or two, but I always leave here feeling healthy which is crazy to say after eating a buffet. The pita chips as croutons were very nice and crispy. The hummus section was awesome. My favorite one is the green one. I think it's avocado? You should try them all! Don't get filled up on it, though--save room for the meats! Besides the lamb shank, I liked the kofta and the gyro. The first batch of kofta I had was very juicy, and the second was more on the drier side. Same goes for the gyro. It was cut kind of thick and was a little dry. The garlic sauce they have went very well with it! I also got the beets, and they were my favorite item. They were sweet and tender, cooked to perfection. The cantaloupe and honeydew were both very sweet. I think that's kind of hard to come by these days. Their pudding was okay, not my favorite. I also tried the baklava, and it is definitely one of the better ones I have ever had. Definitely recommend this place, and I will come back.

The most surprising item was definitely the crab legs. I don't know how they are able to include this in the menu. The crab legs were sweet and flavorful and the meat separated from the shell reasonably well. There were also fruits like papaya and blueberries which is a rare sight indeed. They also had dim sum like chicken feet! The sushi had rice that was well seasoned and not hard. The fish tasted fresh. My favorite dish was the steamed white fish with green onion and ginger. The clams were also fresh, but slightly sandy. The one thing I would never try again, though, is their tomato shrimp soup (it was like a sweet tomyum that was just weird) and their "cheesecake" that was a dried out sponge cake with a dried layer of cream cheese frosting. The rest of the items were pretty tasty and I left feeling full and satisfied, without any heaviness. The price is generous and great for a family outing. I definitely recommend this spot and even their other locations. I hope they do well and continue to be a staple to the community.

Many types of shrimp to choose from. No steamed crab legs but they have the fried salt & pepper crab, which was good. However, they only refilled it once every 30 mins and there was always a long line already waiting in front of the crab station. The kitchen only put out one tray each time so good luck in getting some because the first four (4) people in line pretty much took them all. LoL I was the fourth one in line and just took whatever was left on the tray, which wasn't much! But there were plenty of other choices and there's something for everyone. Restaurant was super crowded but service was good since there were many employees. Someone's review here on Yelp says it's $12.5 for lunch & couple dollars more for dinner. That's incorrect. It's $25 for weekends. Dinner price all day on the weekends, including Fridays, after 3:30 pm. Enjoy!

I would recommend you go during the week, the lunch cost per person is only $17.99 (this is in June of 2026). I spent $31.60 for one person with no soda, only water. Sodas are extra.

So I ended up eating at Golden Corral. My server, Marco. has been working for Golden Corral for 8 years. He says he's 35 and this is only his second job in his whole life. I said wow you don't look for other jobs? Golden Corral must treat you very well for you to stay here so long. He says he's not the kind to look elsewhere that he does his best at each job and that's what matters. He's working hard now as I speak this review. They got a good employee in him. The price for senior early bird was expensive $17.99. The last senior early bird I ate was $12.99 and that was only last year but it was in Arizona. The food is the same as the other locations. I thought the Sirloin was kind of tough in that every piece I cut off and chewed I had to spit out the gristle No piece today was tender enough to swallow The clam chowder is always good it's very thick. Some of the bins look kind of dried up like the white fish the edges are all dried up but that's what you get at a buffet. My drink, which is included in the senior early bird, tasted delicious because I mixed horchata with root beer half and half it was like a root beer float. All in all I would rate this Golden Corral 3.5 stars.

Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

As a remembrance of my dad's birthday, my wife, her mom, and I went to one of his favorite chain…read morerestaurants to eat dinner (after my wife and I had just gotten back from visiting our daughter). I intentionally chose a Golden Corral that we hadn't been before (we usually go to the closer one in Bellflower), and found that this Downey location didn't have the best aesthetics or service, but the food was on point. Gold Corral was already pretty busy when we got there before 5 pm. Dinner pricing was in play, costing $22.79 per person plus $4.39 for a soft drink. One stands in line to enter, grabbing your drinks from the self-serve soda fountain, and then paying the cashier. There was no option to add a tip, which was a bit surprising (since other food places that have far less service commonly add the option to their checkout process). Large sections of the restaurant were on reserve, but there were still plenty of places to sit, so was still on find-your-own table status. Once we found one, said hi to our server and went up. Two of the best things on the buffet were the golden fried shrimp (jumbo in size, nicely deep fried in a good oil) which were delicious dipped in their cocktail sauce (though each item were at opposite ends of the buffet) AND their freshly grilled sirloin steak. Once you get the grillers attention, he will fork over half of one, with the right level of doneness according to your request. Even though I was disappointed in learning that the steaks are now delivered frozen, they didn't taste that way. It was very good, as good a steak as I've had at any other fast casual restaurant, and certainly the best at a AYCE place. I tried their well known pot roast as well, and it was the same as before: really tender, going well with the accompanying gravy. I also tried their cornmeal fried catfish: quite good and not overly greasy. Good deep frying seems to be common here. Did notice they had fried chicken and grilled chicken available. Each table had paper napkin dispenser, and condiments like ketchup, steak sauce, and hot sauce. Other things I noticed were the self serve 3 flavor ICEE machine, self serve soft serve ice cream, and chocolate dipped fruits and snacks. What it did not have were two things that I've seen before at other Golden Corrals: a cotton candy machine and a self serve chocolate fountain. They did seem understaffed, as our dirty plates kept piling up and our drinks didn't get refilled. I was tempted to go to the nearby beverage station to just refill it ourselves, but the clear signage stating 'Employees Only' deterred me. My wife did get a server's attention, and he did clear our plates and refill our drinks...thus got a chance to use my 2 dollar bills before we left. We ended up only staying for 40 minutes, which would have disappointed my dad (who made it a rule to stay at least 1 hour at any AYCE place). But we ate well (my mother in law really loved the fried shrimp), which is what really mattered.

I asked for spicier sauce which they do have, but was just ok flavor wise. Too many great Mexican and Mexican American restaurants with good food and better salsas to re-visit, so not sure I would be back. If in the area, it's worth a try and they do have big screens for games and the bar was pretty packed, so maybe worth the trip back for that and bring my own salsa :)

My visit to Shakey's Pizza Parlor was fantastic, and a big reason why was the amazing service from Harmony and Angel. From the moment we walked in, they greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel welcome. They were both incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Harmony was kind, professional, and checked in on us to make sure everything was perfect. Angel was just as wonderful--helpful, patient, and always had a positive attitude that made the experience even better. We recently had a party of 20 at Shakey's Pizza in Norwalk, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Carlos for making our experience amazing! From the moment we arrived, Carlos went above and beyond to make sure our large group was taken care of. He was friendly, professional, attentive, and always had a positive attitude despite how busy it was. He checked on us throughout the party, made sure everything we needed was taken care of, and helped everything run smoothly. I dont really like to get into these things but today i came to this location today for the Bunch of Lunch. There was no chicken or mojos for a little while. I was about to go ask what was the problem when I noticed and man very rudely attacking the young lady cooking the chicken.. so I just didnt say anything. Seemed like they were short handed at the moment.. There was a gentleman walking around, african american, that was outside cleaning tables and he said that chicken and mojos will be out soon. If customers are going to get like that you guys should just not serve them any more beer... This Shakey's has always been our go to for the PCM. The service is usually great, people like Jenn and Angel come to mind. Family came for dinner and the food was great as usual, service was a bit of a letdown this time. A girl named Kaitlyn was helping us and she seemed completely checked out. She was pretty rude and just had a bad attitude overall. It was a bummer because everyone else was working so hard. When we were walking to our car we saw her vaping behind the store while it was clearly busy inside. I hate to complain because I love this location. I hope the manager can get this handled because we'd love to keep coming back for the great service Jenn and the others usually provide. read more

Great experience at Shakey's Norwalk! I had a great experience at Shakey's Pizza in Norwalk, California. The customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of. The food was amazing -- fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Everything came out quickly and tasted great. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food. The restaurant itself looked very clean and well maintained, which made the experience even better. I actually visit this location often my boyfriend and I have date night here at least 2 times a month. Tonight we were here pretty late but as usual the food was great the place was clean. Tha cashier who took our order Angel was very friendly as usual and the young lady that served our food and continued to check on us until we left Jen is very hard working honest person my boyfriend dropped his wallet on the floor had no clue and the server jen was so nice to pick it up and give it to us. Harmony M and Angel S had some of the best service that I've ever come upon. Angel was very respectful and kind, helping us order the most strategically, while Harmony was so understanding and was so nice to my son, who is autistic, it is much appreciated!! Visited this location for a dinner party of approximately 25 people this past Wednesday evening. Food was great place was beyond busy and there was literally one server working I don't think she ever took a moment to breath. Bad experience with staff. I place an Oder over the phone I called five minutes after for second pizza they told is going take 10 min more I was fine with that, they took over an hour for my Oder and when I got my pizza it was cold.. I asked them if they can make me a new pizza manager had no problem, one of their employees told me next time don't come late for your Oder! I have been to several Shakey's and I really like this one a lot. The food is extremely delicious. Food tastes fresh. T.V.'s EVERYWHERE!!! Clean!!! The games give out TUNS of tickets so the kids really felt that they got something good when we left. They had a bag full of goodies and not cheap things either. Came in for buffet, was craving some pizza chicken and mojos. The guy manager Johnny was making sure they had everything stocked up by constantly refilling the food. Zero stars for service. The steak never had a chance.
