Decent BBQ and the prices aren't bad. I had the half rack of pork ribs with some fried okra and onion rings. The ribs were decent, tender, and flavorful. Their BBQ sauce is middle of the road, like something from a store bought bottle. The okra and onion rings were kind of mushy and the rings were pretty oily. read more

The staff is friendly and prompt. The pricing is what I would expect. I had the wings and the sweet potato fries. Just ok wings, as well prepared as Buffalo Wild Wings, good size, just tender enought. But the sauce is that runny Georgia stuff. No heart, no depth. The sweet potato fries were better than most. Some of the worst service ever. I placed an order to go, a pound of pulled pork & 3 sides. Waited 45 minutes to get called to the counter to find out they were out of one of the sides & they rang up on of the other sides incorrectly. What they charged me for was actually more expensive than what I ordered by a couple of dollars. That part was never mentioned & I didn't realize it until later. I stood at the counter for another 5 minutes for them to go to the back & scoop the mac & chess like I originally ordered. It's now been almost an hour wait for food that did not require anything more than packing. While I waited they were taking about how they "just did a $600 hour." I'm sorry they got my money. Even more so by the time I got home to a very hungry family & found out they couldn't even get the size of my "corrected" side of mac & cheese right. They gave me medium instead of a large. This is the same one I was already overcharged $2 for. I tried to call them but only got voicemail. We'll see if they return my call. read more

Dinner for 2. Place your order get a number and fill your fountain drink. Good indoor climate. Floor and tables were really sticky. Dinner plate consisted of two choices of meat and two sides for $13.49 and a fountain drink for $1.50. Order to serving approximately 15 mins. We tried the pulled pork, chicken and ribs. Sauces were in ketchup bottles- Original, hot, spicy, mustard and honey. Honey sauce tasted the best. Baked beans might be a watered down version of Busch's baked beans. Coleslaw was incredibly sour and bitter with little flavor. Pulled pork had a rubbery texture. Ribs had no smoke flavor and tasted a little watery. Fries soggy and cold. Wednesday, June 6th, 2018. 2pm Decided to try out Shane's Rib Shack. Ordered full rack to-go. I generally don't get sauce. I didn't this time. Tender, meaty and the bread was good... now the bad... bland. virtually no smoke flavor in the meat. an odd "rancid" taste. My guess... these ribs are gas grilled... and the "taste" was grease fire. dunno. If you're going to cheat, use: salt & liquid smoke... some kind of rub! Don't depend completely on the sauce. Dined in for lunch yesterday. Ordered the chicken wrap with coleslaw. The flour tortilla wrap was filled with mostly iceberg lettuce, some shredded cheese and pickles. One very thin, tiny, minuscule, small, little piece of chicken tender was placed in the wrap which was cut in 4 pieces. No flavor; no meat; Just a large piece of flour tortilla. The perky young employees are really friendly here and the ribs are ok, but if you are looking for a barbecue experience that likes of that you might find in the barbecue belt of Texas, you might be disappointed. I wasn't impressed at all with the cole slaw, which lacked any sort of character and had a funny taste to me (the same old same old). Ditto on the beans, which were a very basic baked variety. The fried okra was a bit mushy, too--not cripsy like they make it on the other side of town at Dickey's (there, they drop it in the fryer when you order it). Overall, better than a lot of the eateries in Pooler, but it could use a little work in the food department if it desires to attain the status of a bonafide barbecue joint. read more

With so many other local options this place just doesn't quite stack up. We weren't impressed with the meats, sauces, or sides. Ribs were tough, chicken was cold, and the brisket lacked that smoke you crave when going to a BBQ spot. read more

Unfortunately, I'm changing my review from 5 stars to 1.5. I was fooled by a great experience off the bat, but true to my past experience with 2 other Shane's locations, they've left me disappointed. All my reviews of Shane's are the same, which indicates poor corporate management. The crux is this: they are hit or miss. One time you'll go and it will be GREAT! You'll think, Wow! I'm coming back tomorrow! But the next time you go, it will be HORRIBLE! Some of my horrible experiences at this location: BBQ about 40% fat. Nasty, gelatinous fat. Ewww! Another time, dry Cole Slaw. How do you leave the liquid out of cole slaw??? Another time, a very small BBQ portion which left me hanging. Yep, that's 3 strikes. Another Shane's bites the dust. If you like to fly to Vegas for gambling and regularly play the lottery, Shane's might be for you. You might get lucky. For me, I'd rather save my money and the huge disappointments. read more

We used to eat at Shane's when it first opened and the BBQ and sides were great. The service fell off after the first year and we stopped going. We decided to give it another try. The girls working behind the counter were very friendly, however the food was uneventful. The Big Daddy sandwich was huge but the meat had too many hard edges in it and it was cold. The baked beans had no flavor, tasted straight out of a can with no seasoning. I ordered the peach cobbler but couldn't find a single peach anywhere, only hard crust. We went in at 6:30 which should have been peak time but we were the only ones there. So disappointed!! Hopefully they will get it together. read more

This was a disappointment. Friends told me this was a great location but we must have visited on a bad night, 12.29..2016. We were a table of 6 on a birthday gathering. I have never seen so much go wrong with food in a single location. Unfortunately the long wait time, order mix ups and cold food were on almost every order during the 2 hours we were there. I saw a family of 5 next to us not eat any of the food, demand their money back and returned the food comp coupons. The staff was catching it from every direction from customers. Because we were celebrating a birthday and exchanging Christmas presents we kept the our table on a positive note but wasted a lot of food. We were thanked by several staff for not complaining. Meanwhile back to my rating. The worst issue on my table was the wings were cold and the ribs were tough on my plate and cold on another. This location on this night was very disappointing. The ribs were great of course, but I bought 2 pints of peach cobbler, and got about 3 peaches in each one. I dumped it out on plates, and the breading covered the plates and I only found about 3 peaches in each pint!! Peach cobbler is what I wanted tonight and I got cheated in Pooler, Ga. tonight! My husband and I went to Shane's today for lunch since two of our co-workers raved about how tasty their Shack potatoes are. We arrived, ordered and sat there talking for about 20-25mins and then realized we had not received our orders (baked potatoes topped with your choice of meat, cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños). At this time, I see the cashier walk past our table and then another young lady past our table looking, then I hear "where are the potatoes?", then "where's the ticket?", then "here it is" and then the cashier comes to our table and said "oh we just found out we did not have any potatoes today. I'm sorry. I didn't know. Can I get you something else?" We explained - No, we don't have time our lunch break is over. We will need a refund. It took 5-10mins to get the refund and an attitude of no concern that we just sat here waiting for nothing on our lunch break. It was pretty bad. The excuse that "no one told me we didn't have potatoes" from the cashier and then the other young lady "I didn't know she didn't know because I wasn't up here". That's some pretty sad service. read more

This is the most ANNOYING restaurant I have ever been to. The doors constantly beep until they are closed and you can hear the beeper all over the restaurant. The chairs are too close together that you may run into somebody- happened to me several times. Also HOW DO YOU MESS UP KIDS CHICKEN FINGERS ?? PSA: the barbecue has bones in it. The service took FOREVER for three people to get meals. Bathroom was gross, tables were sticky, atmosphere was too loud I think I still can hear the door beeping. i stopped off at Shane's for a late lunch/early dinner. i had the Big Daddy, oh my, it had a lot of tender pork, and you can add your own sauce, so i mixed the honey and the spicy. what a great combination. Kudos to the cook. the young man checked on us a few times, i appreciate his attentiveness. but i'll have to return for the ribs, my friend ate his and didn't share. oh and you have to save room for the cobbler. it is delicious. read more

Friends recommended Shane's, so we went there for a quick lunch. I had the pulled pork - So good, I returned a couple days later with another friend and had a combo platter with sides - Delicious! Today I had the most awful meal I have ever attempted to eat. I ordered a sampler plate. It came with fried chicken tenders covered with hot sauce, chopped chicken, and pork ribs. For the sides I had cole slaw I think and baked beans. There was three ribs about three inches long covered with a very thick bbq sauce. The ribs were way over cooked very tuff and dry. The meat actualy looked grey when the sauce was scraped away. I threw them away. The chopped chicken was also over cooked, very dry very tuff the chopped pieces was like trying to eat beef jerky it just could not be eaten. The chicken tenders were not far behind I was able to eat two of them covered with the hot sauce and shack sauce. Although the tenders were fried they were over cooked also, even to the point of being very stringey and tuff. The first look at my cole slaw looked as if they had given me a tossed salad by mistake, and the beans were very sweet. There was nothing good about this meal at all it was awful. I don't recommend this restaurant to any one, I have learned my lesson. You to can get a private lesson for about $15.00 per person. read more

I was very disappointed with my Shane's Rib Shack experience. I ordered a cheeseburger and chicken tenders and was informed that it would take 15 minutes for the cheeseburger. I thought that would be okay, but they brought out my husband's chicken tenders almost immediately after we sat down and he finished them well before I got my burger (some 25 minutes after I ordered). The burger was burnt and the fries for both of the lunches were lukewarm at best when we got them - quickly going cold as ate. I wil not be going back to this Shane's Rib Shack. I have had much better experiences at other Shane's, so I'm assuming it was the workers there yesterday. But I won't waste my money. There are plenty of other places to get a good burger, that's not burnt, and that does not have cold fries. read more
