5 stars for their sesame tofu, but 3-3.5 stars for everything else we've tried. Meat dishes are tasty but can leave a little to be desired as far as the quantity and/or quality of the meat. Great lunch deals include an eggroll and plenty of fried rice, but all of their prices are pretty reasonable. We've never dined in but service is always great. One lady in particular knows me by my order and always likes to chat. Ordered $50 worth of food on GrubHub. Waited 2+ hours for the food to arrive. When we called the restaurant, the extremely rude woman said that she had been ignoring all GrubHub orders. If she didn't want to take the order then she should have called instead of making us wait until all other restaurants were closed to tell us we weren't getting food we paid for. Ridiculous service. I've been a patron at this restaurant for 10+ years but I will never give them business again and I advise others not to as well. I wish I could give less than one star. read more

Surprisingly good find in a grocery store strip mall. Started off with egg drop soup which was just right. And they don't use MSG. Mongolian beef with eggplant was flavorful. Would have preferred more beef and less eggplant but there was plenty to share. Sesame chicken--an occasional guilty pleasure--was crunchy crispy good. I arrived on time and waited an additional 30 minutes. When I went in the door I had to stand behind a plexiglass barrier and yell at the woman behind the counter. She could not find my order (I had a confirmation number) would not speak directly to me, took phone calls instead of helping me. I tried to cancel my order and she would not do that. What a disappointment! We decided to try Shanghai Kitchen since our go to Chinese restaurant is closed on Monday. The sesame shrimp was soft and mushy and sickeningly sweet. And that was the good course. The coconut soup was watery and had none of the flavors or richness it should have. The garlic triple, a house specialty was inedible. So at every sales month end, we get a free meal and my office manager happened to come across this place so we decided to try it out. She's a vegan turned vegetarian so of course, this place appealed to her. Also, they do not put MSG in the food which is a plus in her book. HOWEVER...HOLY COW...We ordered some Ocean Breeze Rolls. Can I say, ONE OF THE YUMMIEST THINGS THAT HAVE ENTERED MY MOUTH??? (Hmm that sounded dirty...) All three of us were in awe of this mouth watering appetizer. We literally jumped up and down because of how great they were (or was it that we were stressed out? I don't know.) Shanghai Kitchen is a cozy, little Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall, and serves pretty decent Chinese food. The service is fast and friendly and they have a nice variety of food offered, including some Thai dishes. The chef also offers guests to challenge him and ask for something not on the menu. I like that! I recently tried the General Tsao's chicken, and while it was delicious and perfectly cooked, it could have used a few veggies - so next time, I will challenge the chef to add some. When we placed are order we were told it would be delivered between 45 minutes too an hour but ended up waiting closer to 2 hours. when we called to check on on our order the lady couldn't tell us when it would be delivered The food was Cold. The biggest problem that I usually have with Chinese restaurants is the quality of their beef. It is often times slimy and hard to chew. Not here. The beef felt and tasted like good quality beef.
