I was really concerned about the wait when this place first opened, but that seems to have died down. Whenever I go, the wait is typically less than 5 minutes. The Creama teas are the best! Terrible service alert! I went in looking to order a strawberry green tea, something I hadn't seen written anywhere on their menu. When I asked if they could make it, one girl politely notified me that indeed, she was able to make me a strawberry green tea. Meanwhile, a tiny Asian girl walks up to the side of her asking "why is she asking that? ... It is on the menu" Personally, as a pregnant woman, this tiny Asian attempted to make me feel illiterate. I completely am dissatisfied with the service I received from this incompetent tiny Asian girl. It seems that Sharetea finally has worked out all their kinks, so it no longer takes you 40+ minutes to get your drink, which is great news considering I've grown tired of Gong Cha down the street. Overall, I feel like Gong Cha always makes their drinks pretty sweet, so I always modify my drink to be less sweet, but I like that Sharetea already has the perfect amount of sweetness as their standard. Not to mention Sharetea has way more seats and is more family friendly in my opinion. Lately, every time I've been to Gong Cha, I've been turned off by their extremely loud music and some of their unfriendly employees. At Sharetea, the drinks are great, and I'm always greeted by a smile. Though it's more expensive than I would typically like to pay for milk tea, I'd have to say it's the best spot in the area to satisfy your milk tea cravings. For those taro lovers, they have a special fresh taro milk tea drink where they blend fresh taro into the drink. However, the service at this location is extremely sub par. The wait time is long and they have given me the wrong drink twice already. The staff was nice and made me a new one the first time but I didn't check the second time and ended up with the wrong drink that was hardly drinkable. 47. 47 was the number i had when i ordered my drink. It's also the number of minutes i waited to get my drinks. I have no clue what they are doing back there. Maybe they're going to Taiwan and picking the tea leaves but the wait is ridiculous and unacceptable. Same goes for customer service and management. We expressed our concerns to management and were brushed off; manager gave us no acknowledgment at all. My friend dropped her drink and did not get serviced immediately. We had to ask for a replacement and not only did they dilute the drink, they used the same cup and cap that was on the floor for her new drink. They did not have a wet floor sign for people walking around the spill either. Don't get me wrong the tea was decent enough to drink and the boba was cooked right. If it weren't for the wait and service, i would come back. However, in my opinion, the wait and how things are run at the moment do not make the drinks worth it. Tea here is great! Don't get me wrong. I love their milk teas and their boba is consistently chewy with a nice texture. I had to lower my review due to the long wait time. I came here three times already. During the Soft Opening - 80 min wait, Grand Opening - 60 minute wait, 1 week afterwards - 30 minute wait. All the times I went, the line wasn't that long and there weren't too many people. I'm glad to see that they are improving their time. But in my opinion, if ya'll aren't ready to open and take THAT long to make orders, you should wait to open your shop when you're all prepared . I've been to other Sharetea locations in San Mateo and San Fransisco and they do not take this long. I'm just hoping they'll learn and improve their timing preparations. I believe being prepared and being able to serve the customers quickly is still part of what's considered "good customer service." They're already doing so well with their good tea consistency. This is one of my favorite places to go to when I'm craving milk tea because of its consistency with the tea and pearls. The wait time has definitely gotten shorter and service is generally really friendly, shout outs to Derrick! Very nice guy who rung me up a few times. I've tried quite a few items on their menu but I always seem to go back to the oolong milk tea. They're also very accommodating when it comes to fixing a drink to your preference. The color of the drink was a super light shade of green, like there really was no matcha in it and it actually just tasted how it looked. No matcha flavor whatsoever. It tasted like sweet milk. When my boyfriend told me he skipped dinner so he could use all of his remaining calories for the day for Sharetea's milk drinks, I had to evaluate how useful his sacrifice was. The hot oolong tea with added honey at 80% sweetness was comforting. I still prefer Ten Ren's honey teas but I can't always be going to Ten Ren. The honey milk tea with 50% sweetness does not need to be any sweeter nor require any toppings. It could stand as a delicious desert on its own. At 12PM, there is a line that loops inside the restaurant. It moves more slowly than other places due to the customization options and that the employees are still trying to find the balance between quality and efficiency with these different orders. The restaurant is very quiet. Everyone's voices echoes off the walls. It doesn't seem like a place to sit and relax. Everyone in here wanted their tea to-go. Was my boyfriend's decision worth it? I don't think I'd never sacrifice a meal in place of milk tea but if I did, Sharetea would be a reasonably acceptable option. read more

(Actual types of tea not just flavors) % of sweetness % of Ice and the lack of an obsessive color preference for orange. With that said I'm a plain milk tea kind of guy. No toppings, generally green milk tea. Roasted milk tea at some locations. The green milk tea here is definitely on the creamier side but I don't mind it too much. The tea flavor isn't that strong either. So I feel like Sharetea is pretty average if it weren't for how perfect their 50% sweet is. I feel like their 50% is just right. Since it was one of two places in the area that was open on Christmas Day, I felt like it was time to see if it lives up to its expectations. ***UPDATE: I came here a second time, they got my Mango Green Tea correct this time so I was like, yes, finally! ....Until they realized they forgot to add my aloe. COME ON, you almost had it Share Tea! It's ok, you are forgiven. My Mango Green Tea with Aloe was perfect.... but this place still took forever. (This place lost all its credits for getting my drink wrong (I didn't realized it at the moment because I was in a hurry and left). I ordered a Mango Green Tea and got just a Green Tea.... and yes, the cashier confirmed my order with me twice so I'm definitely sure that they put it down correctly. Pretty disappointed since it's such a simple drink. Will come back in the future to see if they'll actually get my drink correct next time for me to write a proper drinks review) (+) Honey Milk Tea. Ask for 50% sweet if you're getting the honey green milk tea. I only tried this from my friend but I liked it. This is our favorite spot for milk tea. You can actually taste the tea! We are not huge fans of our tea being overpowered by sugar, so we tend to reduce our sugar percentage. Our favorites here are the oolong milk tea w/ 50% sugar w/ boba (or lychee jelly), green matcha crema w/ 25% sugar, ... and for those who like ginger, the ginger milk tea is good too. Got the oreo "shake", oreo milk tea & regular milk tea with pearls. Wouldn't recommend their oreo anything, waaaay too sweet & the oreo flavor is not even that powerful in the drinks. The milk tea was alright, but tasted just like an ordinary milk tea drink. Their pearls were cooked to perfection though! I have to say the boba was really good, but the drinks were just okay. My favorites: 1. Okinawa (brown sugar) pearl milk tea 80% sweet with less pearls and occasionally ice cream/pudding. This is my go-to milk tea. It has more of a milky/creamy taste without the heaviness of a smoothie. The flavor is always on point and I always finish it too fast T_T 2. Grapefruit Yogurt Slushy. This one is refreshing and has that fun texture of little ice pieces that cool you down real quick in the summer. The grapefruit is a little bit on the tart/sour side so I don't recommend lowering the sweetness. I also don't recommend adding any pearls/boba because it might get hard once it sits in the cold temp of your cup for too long. When I first tried Sharetea in San Mateo, I instantly fell in love. No. I lied, I tried their hokkaido milk tea and was like "THIS IS TOO SWEET" but realized I could just come back and either order something else or adjust the sweetness instead. I've also tried their other drinks but those 2 I mentioned above are my hands down favorites. The wait here is strange. Sometimes it's busy so you have to wait maybe 10-15 minutes for your drink, but sometimes it's so slow that you get your drink in like 3 minutes. It really depends on what time you come and the day. For me, though, it's worth the wait either way. I don't recommend anyone to bring large groups unless you plan on standing outside. The seating they have is just small tables situated along the wall (max 3 people per table?). The tables outside have maybe 4 chairs per table too so.... Finally have a Sharetea that isn't too far away to try. I've tried the one in San Francisco, San Mateo, and now the San Jose location. I've always wanted to understand what people go crazy over. So I tried it one last time and last time it was. I came in during a busy time, I can understand that. I didn't mind the 40 minute wait for my drink. I don't put that into my opinions for the place since they are new. With newly opened locations, I find it funny that people complain about the wait. It's going to be busy people, like many others in the area, they too want to try the new kid on the block. In terms of flavor, it tasted like the other two that I've had which is kind of nice since they can maintain consistency. The tea's here aren't anything that I'd return for sadly. I was hoping I would like it since I live so close to it. I ordered the Onikawa (Roasted Brown Sugar) and a Mango Milk Tea. I've had Brown Sugar milk tea's from other places in the area and you can actually taste the difference in terms of flavors, theirs just tasted like regular milk tea. I am a mango LOVER, so I usually try the Mango Milk Tea's. Theirs is extremely disappointing. The promotion was very unclear as well. They had a Buy One,Get One free deal going on, So I ordered 2 drinks. I received 3 instead of 4. Turns out it's per transaction. So I had to reorder to get the 4th drink for my friend, the girl was nice enough to let me get the 4th drink for free since she knew the only reason why I got 2 orders was for the free drinks. The workers are very odd. The cashier looked at me like it was the first time she's ever seen a fat Asian guy. I don't know, maybe she was stunned by my handsomeness. If i can give you no stars I would! I tried this drink from a friend and decided to go there for my first visit. I saw probably 6-7 people waiting for drinks but 10+ people waiting in line... The person who was working at the register then tells us we have to wait 30min - 1 hour to order drinks because they are backed up on making drinks!!! COME ON! You are making boba!!!! If you can't handle foot traffic don't open a business! Honestly do you ever hear tenren, barcode, tapioca, Starbucks... Etc tell there customers to wait... NO! Get it together sharetea. read more

I'm definitely going to be coming back here. But since I came during the grand opening period, the place was packed. Hopefully it won't be this bad in the future. The drinks here are on par with the San Mateo Sharetea. It's fantastic and I think its one of the best in the Bay Area and I've tried a good number of boba spots around here. I would describe them as being sort of like Ten Ren's flavor, but with a more modern flair. They have the crema drinks here as well as your standards. Their peach tea and mango milk tea are awesome with very fresh tasting puree's. The nice thing about Sharetea is that I've never really had a bad drink here, they know what they do well and serve only what they know well. One final note, the drinks here do take longer than average, so just take that into account when you're waiting for a drink! It's worth the wait! read more

Came back here after 9 months and I'm happy to say that there service is a lot quicker and their drinks are great! However, they still have some ways to go to be as good as the Sharetea branch in San Mateo or SF.I got the matcha milk tea with egg pudding with 85% sweet and an okinawa milk tea with small pearls. The matcha milk tea was pretty sweet for my taste and the egg pudding was given in big chunks, making the drink unbalance. As for the okinawa milk tea, it was really sweet (but it was 100% sweetness so I guess I can't complain) and the pearls were clumped together that it constantly got stuck in the straw or I would suck up large chunks at a time. Overall, I am willing to come back here again more frequently. read more

A little pricey, but worth it for the quality. A cup here runs probably at least $4 like most other Bay Area establishments, but at least you get what you pay for. I believe Sharetea is a franchise from Asia, and the quality shows. The tea flavor is potent, and like most places, they allow you to customize the level of sweetness and amount of ice. The oolong tea crema with grass jelly that I had was very satisfying, and if I were in the area I'd definitely be willing to come back. Thad said, there are still cheaper options (Tea Era in Mountain View and Cupertino, and Ten Ren and Fantasia in Cupertino). If I were close to a Sharetea again in the future and in need of a quality boba fix (such as after one as taken a 400 question $2000+ licensing exam...), I would definitely be happy to stop by. But if I had options, I'd probably still go back to one of my (cheaper) favorites. read more

I can easily say that this is one of my all time favorite tea places. I'm not going to take a star away for the long wait, because they're new & still trying to get things right, but I am warning you.. It may take an hour to get your drink(s). If you do decide to wait, I highly recommend giving their Mango Green Tea Creama a try! Every time I eat at Gen, I somehow find myself at Sharetea after. Haha! I've purchased their strawberry ice blended with lychee jelly and ice cream. It's really sweet and tastes so good on a hot day! I've also bought their QQ happy family milk tea. I thought I was getting a basic drink, but it turned out being something I would want to get over and over again. I decided on the QQ one because I saw a picture on the tv which just looked like it came with boba and pudding, but it actually had 6 toppings: pearls, mini pearls, egg pudding, lychee jelly, herb jelly(?), and red beans. If I had known there were red beans in it, I would have asked to not include it. Not a fan. Other than that, I really enjoyed the drink! The picture of their classic milk tea looks very nice and full of pearls BUT the real one is unfortunately looks poor on the portion and both the drink and pearls. Mostly filled up with ice. Our favorite of all, the pearls, are little, just half of what it shows on the pic, and taste a little hard and not as good compare to the location in Valley Fair mall. Disappointed! I came here with a couple of friends for the NHS fundraiser which y'all should have gone to :)) I ordered Passionfruit with Yakult with boba which was pretty good! Wait times are average. Apparently from what I hear, the 100% sweetness is a little too sweet, but I found it fine. (But then again I have a sweet tooth.) All the drinks come in one standard size so you don't have to stress out about it. The inside of the restaurant is kind of noisy and crowded because it's so small, and there aren't that many seats outside either, but the tea itself tastes pretty good! read more

I've been to shareteas in Hong Kong and shareteas in bay area. Their menu varies depending on the franchise's owner. So far in bay area, this sharetea has the most choices.
