For drinks we love the Tiki Guava and Moscow mule. The beer battered onion rings are the best we have ever had. They have a play area for the little ones while there waiting for the food to arrive. This spot is great for little kids! They have a lovely kids play area with some different toddler toys between the sports shop and the restaurant. The food was good! My husband had fish and chips which were delicious. The halibut was very dense and had great flavor. I ordered the loc oysters which I wouldn't order again. they were described as being dusted with flour and grilled but they tasted more like they were fried. I wish they would have offered them on the shell. The kids menu was nice. My son had popcorn shrimp with orange slices. The ambiance was nice.. clean tables, Indie music, pleasant people and service, and cute seaside decorations that were more Hawaii beach style rather than the tired Oregon coast decor you usually find at places like this. read more

Wasnt really expecting much at first tbh. I'm not a huge seafood fan but since I was staying at the beach I might as well try the seafood. Monkey business was on vacation so I decided to go here instead. Nice decor and nice servers, though there were a few chips under my table when I sat down. Meh, no big deal since it was busy that night. I got the pina colada smoothie and cod and fries. Man, that pina colada was AWESOME. Made with real pineapple purée topped with whipped cream. I expected it to be overly sweet like most pina coladas I've had but it's just the right amount of sweet. Almost like those Tropicana commercials where they stick a straw in an orange and drink it except pineapple version. Drinks came in nice mason jars too. Fish n chips came along and oh boy. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this was the best fish n chips I've ever had. I usually hate fish and chips since most places either make it soggy, fishy, or slimy. Here, the cod was fried perfectly crispy(nice and thicc pieces too). Fries were great too(cole slaw a bit weak but hey who comes for the coleslaw anyways?). Their home made tartar sauce is HEAVEN. I even dipped my fries in it since it was so good. Idk what magic they are doing back there since I usually think tartar sauce is disgusting. Worth the risk coming here. Great spot to stop by and grab some food. Few recommendations: 1) Sampler platter is a must! They give you a little bit of everything. 2) Shrimp tacos are good and enough to fill you up. 3) Fried oysters are worth trying....even if you're not a fan of fried oysters. Went here for lunch recently and the quality in the food surprised me. This isn't the cheap cookie cutter food you find in most places. This is definitely a step up. Everything was prepared very well. I ordered nachos for the table and I just got chicken strips for myself expecting the standard breaded chicken breast. Not at all. The cook sliced the chicken breast super thin and lightly breaded them. Some of the best chicken strips I've ever had. You can tell when someone takes pride in their craft. I suspect the cook was an owner because everything looked and tasted well above average. The waterfront side of the restaurant shares the entrance with Waxers which seemed to be a water sports/surf shop. They must be same owners because the store and restraints share the space with restrooms in the middle. Great place to eat quality food. More expensive than your general cafe but very much worth it for the food that is clearly freshly made to order. read more

Plump, juicy, nice crisp coating), popcorn shrimp (tender), calamari (nice peppery kick and also tender), crab cake (chock full of crab!), shrimp (batter slightly thicker), cod (flaky, personal preference for fish to be less done but batter was great and crisp!), fries. We visited at lunch time on a Monday in mid-February and the place wasn't very busy. We enjoyed prompt service and items arrived quickly. I had the crab cake basket and they were tasty if a tad bit small. Wife had fish tacos and she enjoyed them. Excellent bar selection, too, including some local beers. Food was very mediocre. Cod was super mushy. Clam chowder should be called clam flavored soup and it was runny like water. Our fish and chips came the same time as our soup. I had a lovely lunch here with my daughter. She had the halibut burger, which she devoured and I had the pink shrimp melt (also delicious). Everything was hot and fresh, the mango smoothie my girl had was so fresh and extremely tasty as well. We'll have to bring the rest of the family back soon. Let me start out by saying this is my absolute favorite place to eat in Coos Bay. Me and my friends came here at least once a week when we were living in the area. Their homemade tarter sauce is literally BOMB.com. I'm always asking for more sauce because they are so good on the Baja tacos and for dipping. My go to is their fish tacos. I was so impressed and its delicious, not as thick as other chowders, but super delicious, my two year old gobbled it up also. I even ordered the chowder to go, and 4 days later, still awesome. I wish I had more. They have a gluten free menu and many options. When I was there, I also ordered their shrimp salad and it was loaded with shrimp, not a small portion at all. Yum! And although its presentation since you order at the front, then sit and wait for your order, they still provided great service to the tables with drink refills and taking away plates, really great customer service. The space is shared with a surf shop and between their is a child zone with lots of toys and games for little ones, so even if you have a fussy child, there is something for them too! One of the best hidden treasures right in front of your face off the 101 in Coos Bay. We had already been to two other locations that happened to be closed but not listed. The Clam Chowder is by far the best we have tasted. They were very kid friendly and accommodating. The daily special fish tacos were a tuna taco. A little bit to much cilantro for my taste but for others is great. Don't forget to drizzle the lime over the tacos.
