I love this place! The chicken and the beef/lamb are delicious. The toppings and sides are fantastic! I don't believe the baklava is made in the store, but it is also terrific. The pastry is flaky and fresh; the pistachio-to-honey ratio is just right. The owner is usually on the premises, supervising, and he obviously takes customer satisfaction very seriously. This used to be my go to place for take out for a nice salad. I think maybe the shop has been sold because the portions are smaller, the place isn't as clean and I don't believe the food is as good. I ordered my salad and fataya...again barely any meat on the salad, baba ganoush and garlic aren't the same. The fataya was given to me evidently right out of the fridge, not warmed up. We ate at Shawarma Guys last night, not knowing it was here. We love Cava in Burke so we were thinking this place would be hard pressed to beat the freshness we find there; however, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, really fresh. I had chicken and my husband had the beef. I had the salad and my daughter had it with rice. No complaints. Tasty! The service was second to none. When I wasn't sure what something was the lady behind the counter was friendly and patient with me and encouraged me and my husband to have a taste. She thoroughly explained the menu to us as well. The four of us ate in the restaurant and it was fine. I think they need to work on the decor (like paint a mural on the wall and keep the freezer cases filled up so they look more inviting). My daughter has some kind of frozen drink which she loved. The pita bread was fresh. I am looking forward to my next visit. My only fear is that the service won't be as friendly next time. If they can keep up the friendliness, I'm sold for life. It's so hard to find a place where people are friendly anymore so it goes a long way with me. This place just opened last week and already this is our second time back. The people who work there (including the owners) are lovely and super helpful. The food is AMAZING. So far, we've had the baba ganoush, falafel pita sandwich, shawarma pita sandwich, meat, cheese and spinach pies, mango lassi and assortment of baklava. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I don't know, perhaps I'm missing something but the meat is DRY! The pitas are DRY! The date rings are DRY! Why is everything dry? Shawarma meat is supposed to be juicy, dripping and tender. In short not bad, however a few things need improvement. Chicken is good but the portion size relative to the huge pita is dismal. If I am paying upwards of $10 for a sandwich it better have some meat. Use the traditional pita bread, not the knock off. Taste was good, chicken well done, garlic sauce and sides were on point. I liked the novel idea of this place. You can build your own shawarma pita wrap or bowl--sort of like Subway, but for shawarmas. They have a really nice spread of sauces (tahini, garlic sauce, yogurt sauce, baba ghanouj, hummus, etc) and lot of fresh and delicious traditional toppings. In addition to a beef/lamb shawarma pita wrap, we ordered a chicken shawarma pita wrap, a side of baba ghanouj, and an order of meat pies. On taste alone, I would give it three stars. The chicken shawarma meat was very salty and lacked the delicious savory flavor of a great chicken shawarma. The beef shawarma was a little better. The baba ghanouj was OK. The meat pies were pretty bland. The concept of a build your own shawarma is so great. And the restaurant was clean and service was friendly. I just wish they could tweak the flavors to make it better. If you are not a shawarma aficionado, you will probably be very satisfied with this restaurant. If you are really into Middle Eastern cuisine, this place may disappoint. read more

Decent place to try if you're in the area. I had the shawarma bowl with beef and lamb. I loaded the bowl with all the toppings that were available. It was probably not the best decision as I was not a huge fan of my meal but the the seasoning on the meats were really good. I'll have to make more prudent choices for the toppings on my next visit. The food was great and the guys working happily answered my questions and advised me on what combination of food would work best (as a novice!).
