We were waiting for a MENA fast food style place for a while in the area. To start with the owner and staff are very nice. I always get shawarma and gyro wraps and sandwiches which are very good and tasty. The chipotle fries is also amazing. I crave this place regularly now. Their shawarma is just amazing. Seriously, I want it all the time. Take out is a little slow, but tasted fine once it got to our house (took an hour). Dining in is also a challenge as they only have about 4 tables, which I didn't realize at first when I suggested it to a group of friends for dinner the other night. Shawarma Kebab was this girl's first introduction to the world of Shawarma platters. It was late on a summer night. Takeout often has such a steep delivery minimum that I find myself cradling my exhausted credit card even after ordering dinner for one. Enter Shawarma Kebab, with a reasonable minimum delivery fee and a new style of food. I did not experience the delayed delivery from Shawarma Kebab. My food was delivered warm and in a timely manner :) Shawarma Kebab had a strange combination of tasting both healthy and unhealthy at the same time... The salad was a little watery, but was dressed lightly and tasted fresh. The chicken that I got with my shawarma platter was so DELICIOUS but also quite greasy & the rice absorbed a lot of the oil. It was a strange experience, because I didn't particularly care for any part of the platter, but THAT CHICKEN. I couldn't stop eating it. I pay $5 extra for 3 extra pita breads and all of them are stale including the 1 that came with my platter. Had to eat my meal with no pita and wasted an extra $5. Not impressed at all. Fries were greasy as if the oil hadn't been changed in a while. Chipotle sauce watered down. Beef and chicken shawarma was dry and not plentiful at all on a subpar stale pita. I just ordered take out and the food was dry and taste like it had been sitting for hours. In short, it was horrible. Not only was the food the most amazing thing I've ever eaten, but the owner was the nicest person I've ever met. They use siracha sauce for their hot sauce which I don't like. Their yogurt sauce is nothing to speak of and their rice is a mess. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. This place is Absolute Garbage. Our order tonight took THREE. HOURS. to be delivered. I had to call Seamless Customer Service TWICE to see where our food was! First I call after about an hour and a half because both of the restaurants phone numbers go to full voicemail boxes and it's nearly impossible to reach anyone at the restaurant. Around the 2 hour mark Seamless called me back to tell me my food would be here in 10 minutes. Then a delivery guy called to tell me he was at my door, but TEXTED a minute later to say OOPS NEVER MIND YOUR ORDER ISN'T EVEN READY. Then I call Seamless again, because now it's 2 and half hours and the food is still not here, and the delivery guy isn't answering his phone. Somewhere around hour 3 some random guy calls to say "The delivery guy got lost but the food will be there sometime." To which I don't even know what to freakin' say because I've already started heating up a can of soup. Not to mention how do you get lost in the center of West Chester, it's less than 2 miles wide. THREE HOURS LATER the order gets here and GUESS WHAT. ITS NOT EVEN WHAT WE ORDERD. Two regular Cokes instead of a Diet Coke and Sprite. One of us can't drink Coke because it's caffeinated so thanks for nothing there. And we ordered two orders of Shawarma fries and got one order of SOGGY POTATO CHIPS WITH SAUCE TRICKLED ON THEM. No fries, and not even two orders of "chips" to replace the two orders of fries, just one. Urgh. Seriously if you ran out of fries and didn't have the drinks we ordered why not pick up the phone and just let us know? Give us the chance to change our order. Or cancel the order, give us a refund. Say you're sorry but you're all out and we'll all move on. Try again next time. But NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! Instead they decide to make it a miserable three hour long ordeal! They let us pay $35 for cold soggy PITAS and CHIPS that would get to us THREE HOURS LATER. Unbelievable. Unbelievably RUDE. Seriously, the level of unprofessionalism here is astounding. Absolutely the worst! We did take-out for delivery. First, they were over a half hour late. Then, they got our order wrong: we ordered 3 orders of French fries, and none sowed up. Finally the food: grape leaves wrapped in rice must have been made weeks ago. They had it in hummus, and it was lousy, with no seasonings and no bread. Amazing food Only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because on multiple occasions I have been charged a different amount for the same amount of food. Most recently, for 2 chicken kebab entrees I was charge $38 when it is $12 or so each. My boyfriend is who went in to pay and pick it up so he did not notice and just kind of thought i ordered something outrageously expensive for 2. This was my third time ordering Shwarma and as they say third time is the charm! My first experience with Shwarma was they forgot something I had ordered and it did take them a while to deliver, I let it go because it was something small and not a big deal, and the food was amazing. Second time I ordered, food was considerably worse, but I thought maybe it was just a bad night for them. The Beef-lamb was a tad burnt and dry, but the rest of the food was decent. But they had gotten here within the time they said they would. Last night, I ordered my dinner at about 5:30 so it should not have been when they were too busy. I waited, and waited and waited (as the other two times I knew being patient would work out in the end), and so after about an hour and a half I called the restaurant to see what the deal was. They said they had been busy and the food was now on its way... but the funny thing was they knew exactly who was calling and what I had order in no time flat (kind of made me think, were they really busy, or did they not like that I had checked the math on the tip amount and adjusted it to only tip the amount before tax, and now they were being rude.) They gave me a half hearted apology over the phone, and it gets better. This place is maybe at most 15 min from my house (you literally had a straight route to my door!) and it finally showed up half an hour after I called. Like another poster said no apology from the driver and was plainly rude! Now I have my meal. The food was bland and burnt and lukewarm. I ordered a hummus & grape leaves salad with pita bread. The salad was 2 tablespoons of hummus (that was so bland. It literally tasted like chickpeas and olive oil. Salt less and no spices.. Repulsive), 4 grape leaves (that were obviously pre made from a jar.) & 1 piece of pita bread (the pita was good). My friend got a lamb wrap, he enjoyed that. He also got 4 grape leaves and a side of tzatziki. The tzatziki was literally yogurt with 1 little piece of minced garlic in it. Where was the garlic, cucumber, dill, olive oil and lemon? All in in.. My wife and I were super excited to learn that not only was there a shawarma shop in the borough, but they also delivered! We ordered our meal and were informed that we'd see our delivery in 30-40 minutes. 90 minutes later we called the restaurant to see where our food was. We were told that they "were just going to call us" because they ran out of falafel and that the rest of the order was nearly done being prepared. We canceled the order and called Baan Thai instead. Made things a little greasier than you would expect for this type of cuisine. Prices are hit or miss. They seemed to have great deals on sandwiches, about $8 for a nice size chicken shwarma pita, but the platters are a little overpriced at around $15 for only slightly more food.
