The place looks inviting, but as soon as I walked in with my friend we both felt like we didn't belong there. To tell you how I felt as we ordered sat down then asking for napkins I ultimately knew I wouldn't be back here, why would anyone after feeling like you weren't even wanted here. The fries were good I guess give credit when due, but the main thing I came here for, I mean it's in the name, "Shawarma" I never knew would have thought that the loca part meant they use flour tortillas. They also use like a 3 cheese blend that make it taste exactly like a cheese quesadilla with added protein. This is definitely not what I expected when I decided to tu for shawarma, and they're crazy to call it that, hence the name shawarma loca. The sauce is $.50 cents but I wouldn't get them if they were free. Authentic is all over the walls, but si is some guy shooting up sauce like it's morphine or that sweet H. Avoid this place! Definitely not authentic! I decided to try this place on my way to Brookhurst because I've been wanting to try this place, but I've never been so disappointed by a shawarma in such a long time. I pull to shawarma loca only two other people there waiting for go to orders so it was a little quiet in the area but has some music playing in the background. The staff is nice , Right away I place my order Chicken & beef shawarma with extra sauce and a strawberry lemonade & lemon mint (my favorite) . The man at the register was very welcoming from the moment we entered the restaurant. Since there weren't many people at the time we arrived, he walked my party out to the patio area where they were grilling beef and handed us fresh samples! The menu is very straightforward. I ordered the 12" beef combo which has the wrap, fries, coleslaw, and their unique sauce. I really enjoyed the taste of dipping the wrap and even some fries into their sauce, as it added a yogurt-like, garlic-y flavor. That combination is what makes their food stand out in comparison to most other similar cuisines! For the price of $15, I think this combo is very filling. We ordered a chicken shawarma garlic loca and it was so amazing. Flavorful not dry. I didn't know what to order at first but I had a gentleman suggest the best one for me. He even gave me a suggestion to come on Sundays after 8pm for beef on the charcoal. The environment is cool. I went on a Wednesday and it was cool not too busy and not too lonely. Wish they would go back to the way they used to operate in the truck! Now, there restaurant locations is disgusting. It smells like man body oder and sewage. They are not capable of running a clean restaurant with good service. Their menu is has also gotten out of control confusing! Food is now inconsistent, sauce will taste different depending on the day. Even if we could figure out the menu and get the food we liked we wouldn't because if the front customer area is dirty and stinky, we cant imagine what the kitchen is like!
