Food and experience were absolutely phenomenal, as if I was back in Japan (minus the price). Many of the ingredients are Japan imported therefore the quality and taste is at high standard. To us, the price was definitely worth it as you get big pieces of each items. We got the: hokkaido special: big salmon pieces, uni*, snow crab, and Hokkaido scallops were so fresh, sweet, and high quality texture Sakura bowl otoro: big otoro pieces and uni did not have a hint of fish after taste and all melts in your mouth Uni pasta: by far the best uni pasta I have. Not salty, dry, or dairy tasting. Perfectly well seasoned with al dente pasta noodles that pairs well with the uni We decided to split the bowl and each pieces were so big we had to split them in size to savor and enjoy the taste. We are uni snobs and the uni* here is 5/5 in taste, texture, and freshness. So sweet and buttery, no hint of pungent or ocean taste. Also, their yuzu paste pairs so well with each item! Such a unique idea and I'm obsessed. Service was great. Bayu and others catered to our needs fairly quickly and efficiently. Everyone and including the owner were very hospitable. Thank you! Ambiance was relaxing without any loud or obnoxious music. No overpowering smell. Very clean and each table is spaced out nicely. We didn't have any reservations on a Saturday night and we were seated promptly. TLDR; high quality and great taste that is worth the high price. Going back here again!
This is an amazing restaurant! The staff were friendly and I loved how the chef came to the table. The seafood was fresh and delicious! The uni pasta had a savory note and wasn't excessively salty so I was pleasantly surprised. The otoro sakura bowl was great. The slices of fish were large and difficult to eat, but I found a way because it was so delicious. The interior was nice; although the restroom was very basic. The prices are high but they are justified because of the amount and quality of the product you receive. Overall, I would definitely come again!
Wow. Their otoro and chutoro bowls are to die for. Expensive, but huge and extremely fresh fish. The owner is also very friendly and personally came out to greet us!
Shigotonin is a hidden gem for sushi lovers. The food here is top-tier. Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Each piece was prepared with care and perfect timing. The uni, toro, and hamachi were especially memorable. You can tell the chefs are experienced and passionate about what they do. Service was warm and attentive. The staff made great recommendations and explained the dishes without rushing us. It felt very personalized and respectful of the dining experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality, especially considering how hard it is to find true craftsmanship like this. Shigotonin is not just a meal--it's an experience. Can't wait to come back!
Want fresh fresh fresh fish? Shigotonin is the spot! I usually eat at AYCE sushi restaurants, but I wanted to change the vibe and eat top quality sushi. As you walk in, you enter a minimalistic and modern restaurant. It kind of feels like I'm at an art gallery. They offer various options of maki's, rolls, bowls, and even appetizers. I got the jidori karaage... super juicy! I also got one of the bowls and the toro set. Expect big cuts of melt in your mouth tuna. Every dollar spent was so worth it. The fish was so fatty it coated my mouth and melted in my mouth. The saltiness was perfect. Service was 5 they were constantly refilling our drinks and checking on us. I highly recommend Shigotonin if you want to treat yourself or someone special. Go and taste for yourself!
Intimate and minimalist cute little Japanese hole in the wall restaurant. The food is focused on fresh Japanese sashimi and sushi. The service was impressive when I went on Saturday night and the Japanese owner/chef came out to greet guests. Everything we had was amazing and fresh. My favorite had to be the uni pasta with caviar, kama toro, and uni handroll. The kama toro and chu toro was buttery and melt in your mouth. Really fresh. Definitely worth a try
Service was good. Liked how the waitress showed us the specials board and scrolled through photos to highlight the special. Visually very appealing. Food came out quickly and presentation was good except for the Wagyu and mushrooms. For $85 Wagyu I'd expect better presentation and flavor. Super mild buttery flavor and definitely tender. However it just was lack luster at that price. the miso mushroom dish was also take it or leave it. I say leave it at $35. I'm comparing the 5 ounce Wagyu from Raku on a hot stone for $120 and even though this was more tender the presentation was lacking. Both Wagyu were ok, not fabulous. The oyster mushroom at Raku was much better than this place. The sashimi was a different story. Hella good and very nice sized portions. The sashimi rice had a little something special about it and I could have eaten a bowl of it separately or with the Wagyu. Nothing but stars for the sashimi bowls ~ $65.
All I have to say is wow! We absolutely loved this experience. Every dish we had was so fresh and delicious. Servers were friendly and attentive. Cannot wait to go back!
Amazing food, amazing service, and a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment. We went here end of February to celebrate my friend's wedding and the food was outstanding. I got the miso soup, temaki 5 kinds, and uni carbonara. The chutoro and uni were the best but the other fish was great too. Everyone loved their meals and I look forward to coming back here one day.
Well damn the sushi is that good; I haven't had tuna that good ever. And it was every piece of the tuna from the akami to negitoro to the Otoro. The staff are well trained, attentive, and have some of the friendly and joking nature of the owner, Shigo-San. The uni pasta was also excellent but if I come back I'm ditching that and getting more varieties of the special bowls (there's been mention in previous reviews of the Hokkaido special's rice being mind blowing) We also got the yellowtail temaki which was okay but the tuna was so delicious that it couldn't compare. For party of two, our total came to around $240 including tax, tip, and a sake bottle. FYI the special combo set prices vary I think but at the time we went the tuna mix was $150 and the temaki 5-piece set would have been $125
The fish is solid here but agree with others that the price may be a bit high for what you get. I've been to premium sushi/omakase places that offer similar sets in LA for less. I think I was a bit disappointed in the amount of uni I got for the special chirashi. I kid you not, the small fingernail size dollop of uni you see in my picture was all the uni given for the entire chirashi bowl. Now the high quality of fish was what redeemed this place a bit more as a 4 star for me, but I almost rather they didn't list uni as part of this bowl if they're going to be giving such a small amount that's barely enough to get a good taste of when mixed in with the rice. Good and attentive service was another reason I leaned towards the 4 star rather than 3.
After researching for a long time what to eat in vegas, I decided to finally try this spot off the strip as I usually stick to the food on the strip. The reviews for this place is crazy good! Naturally, I had high expectations and made a reservation immediately. tbh there was no need for a reservation. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived. Although it might have been the timing since it was a weekday when we went. All the food was really good. The fish is fresh. No complaints. The chicken namban was surprisingly juicy and the sauce was super good and went well with the chicken. The uni Carbonara is a must get. Overall really good food but slighly overpriced for the portion. I felt that the prices were comparable to the strip pricing (if not more expensive) But it was really good and fresh.
Everything is so yummy and the service is good the food came out so fast. I also got the uni pasta and more hand rolls but I forgot to take pictures of them. It's very clean and minimalistic and hole in the wall. You would never suspect this place. The Sakura box is so yummy but the pieces are bigger than one bite. Would come again.

Thank goodness for Yelp's nearby activity or I'd probably never notice this place and would have missed out on an amazing restaurant with spectacular food and superb service. We made a reservation for Friday night at 6pm because of all of the recommendations to make a reservation by other reviewers. I felt a bit silly about it after coming in to an almost empty restaurant but I will say that in the next 30-45 min, the place was almost full. We were seated right away and given menus and the oshibori. The menu isn't huge exactly but it can be quite daunting. Luckily, they give you a lot of time to decided what you want and can really give good recommendations. When it came time to present us with the specials, the owner wasn't around so we got them from a server. This is perfectly fine though because the owner did come by to speak with us as we were ending our meal so we didn't feel slighted in the least (not that we would have if he didn't come by, but it's just such a nice touch to greet all of your guests.) He's hilarious and so super welcoming. Service was good and I appreciate that all the servers are all your server. It was also a nice touch to have them open the door for you when you leave. The food here is spectacular. You may think it's a bit pricey but the quality and portion sizes are on point. I have to agree with most people that the uni pasta is delicious. The unagi roll is also pretty stellar. I have had otoro before but I had never tried kama otoro and let me tell ya, I'm in love. I don't know if I could not order it if I saw it on a menu again. The sauce that looked a bit like green salsa, the one people are calling fresh wasabi, this stuff is like crack. If you don't want to be addicted to it, don't even give it one try. The "powdered"/normal wasabi was also pretty freaking high quality. They do not skimp here. I'm not so sure I'm a fan of the drinks menu. I mean, the sake menu is awesome but the cocktails, I would leave out. Granted, my toki higball was HUGE, it was just ok. Something I would make for myself at home. But they didn't over charge for it so I can't really complain. While I may not make this place a weekly, or even monthly, event, it's nice to know that there's an amazing place for special occasions or a special night out. read more
Some of the best sushi I've had in my life! It was crazy. I went to Japan literally days after my visit here and I was still thinking about Shigotonin and comparing food I was having in Japan! Shigotonin definitely does things right, albeit with a bit of a price tag, but they serve some phenomenal food with a classy atmosphere! I dropped nearly $200 on food but man was it extravagant and delicious. If this was in SoCal I think I would have been more shocked and reserved about the prices, but this is Vegas baby! Their uni pasta is the best I've had anywhere. Noodles were a fantastic texture and the sauce clung on perfectly. Everything else you typically want to order as temaki (hand rolls). The akami really took me by surprise! It's the dark red meat of the tuna, which is typically considered "common" but you can really tell it's from a piece of quality fish! It was delicious. And finally the SPICY NEGITORO was mindblowing. I don't think it's even on the menu, or if it is, it's kind of hidden away. And if you're big fan of tuna then definitely get the Sakura Box! It comes with akami, chutoro, negitoro, with some uni and ikura! Pretty much ticks all the boxes! I was pretty overwhelmed by the choices at first but don't be! Everything is good and it's really a strong showing of how skilled they are to be able to keep such a unique and fresh menu available. Also the owner is super cool! He's the older gentlemen that's usually explaining the menus. He moved to Vegas from Hawaii and they sell Shigotonin shirts at $20! read more
WOW! We were BLOWN AWAY by EVERY aspect of this dining experience! I was curious (&skeptical) of the SOLID 5 STAR ratings of over 200 people (223 & counting!) I can't say ENOUGH about how much we enjoyed it! EVERY 5 star rating, based on our experience, is SPOT-ON. 3 of us were able to get a last-minute seat on a BUSY Friday night. The special menu is TWO HANDWRITTEN chalkboards that rest on 2 chairs that are brought to your table! Wonderfully friendly & helpful waiters come in waves to provide suggestions, explanations, condiments, water/ drinks, and the MOST INTERESTING hot towel presentation I've ever experienced! We were overwhelmed by the array of choices! We started with sake, of course! 300ml bottle was enough for just the right amount for sampling for the 3 of us. We finally settled on ordering eggplant, unagi with uni (more on this later), potato salad (sounds dull but it's NOT), sesame tuna (will ALWAYS ORDER THIS if it is available! AMAZING!!) & sweet potato with ice cream! Each dish was LAYERED with flavors! Condiments: for the FIRST TIME at sushi bar, we NEVER TOUCHED the usual condiments (soy sauce & wasabi paste). We did eat the ginger.... BEFORE food came. I love ginger & usually order EXTRA, but I got lost in the flavors that came & forgot! ;P And there was a new condiment "mixture" that we'd never seen before & tasted (again, before the food came) &LOVED... it obviously had some Wasabi in it.... when we asked, it's FRESH WASABI, not "pasted". We loved it so much we got a TO GO container for it! We just couldn't let it go to waste! EACH of the tapas plates was met with eye rolls of PLEASURE! The sesame tuna deserves its own restaurant! Next time we'll probably each get our own plate of this delicacy! And dessert.... really?! Vanilla ice cream on a SWEET POTATO!? Sounds weird but it was the only dessert.....drop the . AMAZING! This will be the dessert at my next dinner party! My hat is off to the owner/chef for creating the dishes, the atmosphere & hiring this amazing staff! Our main "host" for the evening is her husband! He humbly (&proudly) said, "She is back there making the magic....I am just out here talking. " Ok... there is ONE thing they could work on. The lighting on the bathroom... you need sunglasses & Sunscreen. ;P We were only in town for 2 nights.... we SERIOUSLY talked about going back AGAIN for the 2nd night. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: OH MY GAWD! So good! by far the best uni pasta I have eaten!! They only take reservations. Fish is fresh and flown in. I highly recommend! AMBIANCE: Casual. Noise level is low. Some of the tables consisted of blocks for the seats. It would be nice to have cushions to sit on to be more comfortable. Amazing experience here! We found this 5 star sushi restaurant on Yelp so we definitely knew we had to go. It 100% lived up to its high star rating! The chef personally came over and described with photos every single special they had for the day. We opted for the uni pasta and special oo-toro box and wow! We're still dreaming of it now. Both dishes were shareable. We actually made two trips here before heading back to Dallas on our trip to Vegas this time. Can't wait to revisit soon. read more

My husband and I came here for valentine dinner based of friend's recommendations. We had made reservations and we were promptly seated after we told our name. Immediately the waitress gave us menu and gave recommendations of the popular dishes from appetizers to main entrees. After that she gave us water and went to get the rest of our drink order. Soon, the owner came with a small board explaining the special of the day with pictures on his phone which was actually helpful because we got to have a visual of the amount of food and what was actually coming out for our order. He then also made his suggestion and then left us after asking if we had any questions. The waitress came back with our drinks and took our food order and came back with a wet wipes and the soy sauce and wasabi/fresh wasabi/ginger. The food came out pretty quickly and they were delicious. Uni pasta: order this! It may be smaller portion but it was so creamy and amazingly flavorful. Special box: we got the one from the board and it looked small but as we were eating it, the portion was pretty decent. The salmon, scallop, ikura, crab, and uni all melted in my house. The owner came back and suggested we use the fresh wasabi which I wholeheartedly agree. Garlic shrimp: this came out with our entree, if it came before I think I would have liked it better but the richness of the other dish overshadowed it. If you get this, ask specifically for this dish to come first, Hand roll: salmon belly- thick, fatty, very well portioned. Sweet shrimp: melt in your mouth oh my goodness I wish I had a bigger stomach to eat another! We were too full to eat dessert but it's a sweet potato one! The owner stopped by and notified the special changes so often so give them a call so they can let us know! He even made sure the door was open for us and thanked us when we should be the one thanking him! 5/5 rating read more

Absolutely phenomenal food! This is the best quality and most delicious raw in town other than super high end restaurants and Kaiseki Yuzu ;) Get the hand rolls, unagi roll, and the salmon baguette dish!! You will not be disappointed :) We tend to focus on the hand rolls when we eat here because they are unmatched in Vegas. I would argue they are better than KazuNori in LA! Big pieces of fish, excellent quality, amazing flavor. Best unagi in town as well. read more

In A Nutshell: -Shigotonin, which is I believe to be named after the owner, Mr. Shigo is a really, really great find for high-quality Japanese food. -Before I even write more, you NEED TO EAT HERE IF YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A TRUE JAPANESE FOODIE. -I highly recommend their Uni Pasta w/ Ikura. -It comes out piping hot w/ delicious uni flavors that pair perfectly w/ the ikura. -I also recommend their Sakura Box Chu Toro which comes w/ Akami, Negitoro, Chutoro, Uni & Ikura. -The pieces of Chu Toro are HUGE! -Finally, their handrolls are phenomenal, especially the Akami. -They are very big, so one is big enough to share between 2 people. Overall, I noticed a lot of travelers eating here w/ their luggage in tow, this a great sign that this place is known outside of Vegas. read more

Decided to stop by here with friends for dinner, I wasn't disappointed! We had a reservation for the party and were seated almost immediately upon entry. The restaurant had a very modern Japanese aesthetic to it, and tables were spacious and wide with plenty of room. All the sashimi we order were very chunky and well selected pieces, really, really fresh. The sushi was heavenly and the grilled squid was cooked to perfection. The owner came by to explain each and every dish to us which really helped us understand everything and what to choose! Every dish we ordered was just an absolute delight and I can't wait to be back here again. Overall it is a little pricier, but the food certainly had great thought put behind it, as well as the skill of service and selection behind it. I would certainly come back again and if you're feeling the itch for a great Japanese restaurant in the area you should most certainly come here! It's amazing! read more

Fish is still amazing, chirashi bowl still impressive. But the portions has shrunk, especially for the famous uni pasta. Prices, on the other hand, has grown so much. I love to treat myself to good fish and Shigotonin used to be my go-to splurge spot.. but at these new prices and portions I hesitate more and more. Still the best sushi spot tho, but other places are catching up fast. read more
Perfect 5 stars!!! Absolutely the best Japanese sushi restaurant we have been to in the US. My wife is Japanese and I've lived in Tokyo, Japan for over 13 years. We're always looking for amazing Japanese restaurants in the US and this gem nestled in an inconspicuous strip mall just outside of the Las Vegas strip is No. 1 . The owner of the restaurant is Shuji-San and he runs the place with his wife. Together they make the most delicious & authentic dishes. They are so friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with them. Their sashimi is flown in daily in from Japan. Highlights & must orders are the Hokkaido box (overflowing with fresh Hokkaido salmon, crab, scallops & of course uni (sea urchin). The 2nd must order dish is their Uni cream pasta. The sauce was so rich and creamy made with a very generous amount of uni and topped with uni. We inhaled this dish and could have eaten another plate, it was that good!! We also loved the huge Ama Ebi (sweet shrimp) and the Kushi Katsu (deep fried pork skewer). They pay attention to all the finer details and even have freshly ground wasabi. We can't wait to come back to try the rest of their sashimi boxes and chat with Shuji-san and his wife again. The restaurant has a simple and zen ambiance. It's okay to dress casual here and enjoy a premium meal. What a lovely experience! We were a little surprised at the prices but it was so fresh and the chef actually came out and spoke with us. He even got me to try fried shrimp heads. I'm from Louisiana and never ate raw shrimp. The waitress then told me you can only eat shrimp raw from certain areas. They actually were really good with a slightly sweet and buttery taste. The fried shrimp heads, not bad. I'm so glad we went and when in Vegas again will go back. read more

One simple word describes Shigotonin: Amazing. My husband called to make a reservation for Saturday night 530PM. When we went, we were the only ones there. I think people did not start showing up until about 630PM. So if you go early, you'll be guaranteed a seat. Shigotonin is located in the new Golden Plaza on Spring Mountain and Jones where other restaurants, such as Broth and Pier 88 are located. The owner was incredibly friendly. He went over their specials menu with us and even showed us pictures. Their specials menu changes every now and again depending on what they can get in. He mentions that all their fish is flown in from Japan. Their uni, by default, is Japanese uni (I believe). When we went, it was Hokkaido uni. My husband and I decided to go with: Special Sakura Sushi Box ($55): Blue fin tuna, chu-toro, negi toro, uni, and ikura over rice. This was absolutely amazing. There were five decent size pieces of chu-toro, which makes this box absolutely worth it. The chu-toro melted in your mouth and was super soft. Possibly one of the best chu-toro I have had in Las Vegas. The negi-toro was super flavorful! I typically never like negi-toro but Shigotonin's version is full of flavor and went wonderful with a scoop of rice! The uni and ikura was also delicious as well! Salmon Ikura Bowl ($20): The salmon was absolutely delicious. It had just the right amount of fat with each piece. The ikura was delicious too. Ikura is usually salty but it wasn't too salty. The balance of flavors is fantastic. Kama O-Toro Temaki ($22): Kama o-toro is the fatty part of the neck. It is one of their special items for the day and I believe it is limited quantities. It is extremely fatty and you could see the oil glistening off of each piece. Absolutely divine. We got it as a temaki vs sashimi because it is extremely fat and the rice helps with our palettes. Also, my husband and I can't eat too much fatty fish. Salmon Aburi Temaki ($6): Aburi means it's slightly seared and it looks like they use salmon belly for it. The aroma from searing it was amazing. Very delicious! Tamago Sushi ($4): Special of the day. The tamago was done well and the rice they used was mixed with some pickled veggies. Pretty good. I also tried their Lemon Sour ($5.95) as I recalled liking the drink when I had it in Japan. Unfortunately, I was not too fond of Shigotonin's version but it served as a good palette cleanser between fatty fishes! I would probably recommend tea though. Another thing that was a bit odd to me is that they do not offer sushi options. They have sashimi, temaki, and bowls but no sushi. Shigotonin is simply amazing. The prices are a bit higher than your typical sushi joint but the quality makes up for it. If you want quality, this is where it is at. If you want quantity, I think you are better off going to an AYCE establishment. Shigotonin definitely provides top notch quality and I cannot wait to go back. read more

This place is amazingggggggg, so memorable! I'm so glad my friend and I decided to try out this new restaurant in this newly constructed plaza. Our reservation was at 6:45pm on a Thursday night, we were seated almost immediately. We ordered mostly from their special-of-the-day menu. We ordered chutoro sashimi, uni temaki, otoro temaki, negi toro temaki, negi toro, uni pasta, grilled oysters, sweet potato with (vanilla) ice cream, and some sake (oof). I've never had sashimi that's this fresh in vegas before; they literally melt in your mouth. The uni was pretty fresh too; no ocean taste! Uni pasta is a must try! The grilled oysters was okay though, IMO. The sweet potato with vanilla ice cream was quite unique, my friend really liked it. Shuji (the owner) was super friendly and attentive; he ensured our dining experience was amazing, which it was. Luckily, my friend is fluent in Japanese - she translated for us throughout our meal, that's where I learned a lot about Mr. Shuji. He's very passionate in taking care of his customers with quality food, and that he also owned another restaurant in Waikiki/Hawaii. This restaurant will be a hit! Keep it up, Shuji-san!! read more

Sounds a bit like melatonin, hits a lot like dopamine. Shigotonin is a self-described tapas and sake bar that opened in September last year in the new plaza across Spring Mountain from Hobak. They were oddly empty when I decided to go to the next "izakaya" down the list after I found one restaurant to be too busy and the other to be closed. Despite the current categorization of "izakaya" on Yelp, there isn't much grilling or frying on the menu, so you're best off thinking of this as an upscale sushi spot, priced high enough that only connoisseurs or people celebrating a special occasion would want to go. I consider myself a sushi fan and haven't been to any high-end places lately, so I was comfortable with giving it a shot. But before I get into my order, I also got to share some pasta with Hokkaido uni ($45) with a tablemate. This was a treat with rich briny uni infusing every bite of the chewy pasta, and the shiso garnish added a fun counterpoint. It wouldn't have been worth it to me because the flavor was a bit on the subtle side and the portion was as well. The Special Kaisen Chirashi ($42) wasn't that big either, but I was looking for quality over quantity and I got that in spades. The upgrade over the regular chirashi (normally $35) is three hunks of chutoro, all of which were stunningly delicious. You expect tuna flavor and some fat, and I found both. Definitely worth the cost difference. The regular seven fish were almost all flawless too. I didn't catch my server's explanation, but there were definitely tuna, salmon, yellowtail, ikura, uni, and amaebi (sweet shrimp); I believe scallop was the 7th. The only one I longed for a bit more from was the uni, which didn't brim with sweetness. But otherwise, I was very happy, especially with the opportunity for a beneficial burst of salt in every bite (that doesn't overwhelm the other flavors) via ikura. We called to see if we could make a reservations about 10 minutes out and the gentleman who answered was kind and said he would be able to get us in. When we arrived our table was all ready. It was our first time. Our waiter took our drink orders. The head chef came to our table and explained the different kinds of seafood and dishes. The seafood was flown in from Japan. There was fresh wasabi and yummy ginger all ready. We got a wet hand towel to wipe our hands. EVERYTHING that we ordered was AMAZING! The Uni was so fresh. The best I've ever had! The scallops were so sweet! We ordered a Charashi bowl. The seasoned rice was flavorful and the crab meat, salmon and scallops were so fresh. We didn't need any soy sauce. We ordered their Chicken Karaage. It was seasoned perfectly. It was crispy and light. Cannot wait to go back!!! read more

I visited Shigotonin with a group for the first time and we ordered a variety of dishes. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the uni pasta.. it was the best uni I've ever had! The sashimi was thick and fresh, like it was straight from the ocean. Despite our group of six, the service was excellent. One of the best meals I have ever had! We called on Friday to make a 5pm reso on Sunday. When we arrived, they were not too busy but there were a couple of groups who didn't have resos waiting outside already. The staff explained the menu, showed us photos of their recommendations and specials. We order mostly their specials to share: uni pasta, Sakura box with chutoro, 5pc temaki (sweet shrimp, nodoguru, golden eye snapper, otoro with caviar, and uni), aburi mentaiko, and rice soup with salmon. Everything was amazing. The fish was fresh and flavorful and the cuts were huge. The uni pasta was an umami bomb (must try!) I also enjoyed the white seaweed salt, the yuzu sauce and fresh wasabi that accompanied the food. Price is very reasonable for what you get. Service was fantastic too. Cant wait to go back already. Quickly ran a search of top Japanese food restaurants and this place just popped up so we decided to just go and see for ourselves. Not your typical Japanese restaurant but the food was amazing. The UNI pasta..BOMB even when I was full I had to eat the last bite. Big groups I would say reservations needed but if you're going for a date just get there around 6-7 and you can get seated right away. Plus afterwards just pop next door and grab some purple rice yogurt and play the little claw machines I hope it stays in business because the food is fresh and the price is pretty reasonable. read more

Wowowow. Blown away by this Japanese Izakaya restaurant in what seems like a remote part of Vegas near all the asian food places! Interior is nice and modern and the staff is so helpful and detailed in what each item is and looks like on the menu. You must try the Special Kaisen Chirashi bowl if this is on the menu!! I was blown away by the quality and quantity of food!! We also tried the uni pasta and it was deliciouss and had the genuine uni flavoring i hadn't tasted like the one at EMC Seafood. I think price points are reasonable for the delicious and fresh fish!! Friends ordered other dishes as well in the pictures and seemed to like it. read more

Ohhhhh myyyyyy gooooooddddd... My mom decided she wanted to have dinner last minute and on Mother's Day.. well.. I had limited options. By the 10th phone call Shigotonin had availability! To be honest, after my meal I can't figure out why! This meal was amazing and every bite came with an mmmm or an oh my god. We ordered quite a bit and due to me starving I forgot to take a few pictures but there wasn't one thing that wasn't quality! Every bite melts in your mouth and explodes your taste buds. I almost want to go back for dinner tonight! This place is magical and completely underrated and I hope you all make it here quickly. Make sure you meet Shuji, he had my mom laughing and can tell you exactly what to eat to hit the spot! read more

If you are looking for authentic Japanese restaurant, this is right place. They bring some fish from Japan, and the quality is so good(It's just amazingly good). Not only sashimi, their other dishes are exceptional too! Mentaikko pasta's eggs are soft with chewy noodle, sauce is not too much, it was just perfect. The place is spacious with modern interior. I love their playlist(Anime piano song?) Next time, I will definitly visit again and try more dishes! And thank you for explaining detail on the menu! They are super nice. Miss you all! read more
Stopped in with a buddy who recommended the food here and was not disappointed. The menu is almost overwhelming with choices! Everything we had was as fresh as it comes, full of umami and truly delicious. This place churns out some really delicious hand rolls. We tried a bit of everything: scallop carpaccio, chutoro, eel, crab and salmon and really enjoyed it all. The owner is a really nice guy, went over the menu for us personally and even told us how much goes into making his special sushi rice. Worth a visit. read more

If you go early when they open there isn't a wait. For the weekends, I recommend calling to get a reservation.
My husband has a shellfish allergy. Does the restaurant practice shellfish precautions when needed?
