Always our go to spot. Truly my favorite comfort food on the holidays. We live in Ktown and have access to a lot of soonduboo and this is the place we always look forward to eating. If only I could give 4.5 stars! My go-to local kbbq place for years! For a party of 2, we are seated very quickly even during lunch rush. We always get the chadol (brisket) special, so I can't speak about other dishes on the menu. Service is quick. The korean ladies take care of you and are so quick and nice. Once you order, they bring out the banchan (side dishes) right away. THE BANCHAN ARE MY FAV! Super well seasoned n pickled. You can ask for more if you run out. The hot sauce is also 10/10. I also recommend getting their purple brown rice if your meal comes with rice. Their rice is cooked so well. For the chadol lunch special set, I get double brisket because we love their brisket. You can choose bulgogi or chicken bulgogi with the brisket instead. The brisket is simple but tastes so good when slightly crispy. I don't know how to explain, but the beef just tastes good even without seasoning. Shik do rak brisket is better than most places I've tried. For 2 people, we spent around $42 before tip. I heard from others that their spicy seafood noodle soup is also really good. But overall, the food tastes very home-y to me. Love it and won't stop coming here. read more

I've been coming here for years close to 7 and the food is great but the service is the worst I've ever experienced. I've given this place so many chances but the same servers from 7 years are still there. They also have a new policy that more than 4 people they automatically charge an 18% when they definitely don't deserve that much of a tip for such terrible experience. I have been coming here for years and notice the quality of their service went down and their food is decent. I don't recommend their service, the waitress seems to complain when my family and I ask for something. We mentioned we wanted rice paper, she sighed and said "yeah, yeah okay". We weren't even asking for much. She just seemed annoyed to be there and had such a rude tone when she talked to us. Then when it came to the tip, we gave her the amount that we felt she deserved for the disrespectful service she gave us. She had the audacity to chase us to the door and demanded to give her a higher tip. I will never come back here again. There are better KBBQ spots elsewhere. read more

For those wondering, firstly, this is NOT an All You Can Eat (AYCE) establishment. While well reviewed on yelp and one of the top places for Korean BBQ in the San Fernando Valley according to some Redditors, the meat looked much better than it tasted. Once cooked, it wasn't very tender despite the marbling it appeared to have while it was raw. The flavor of the meat was also rather bland much akin to water. MY ORDER: x1 DUK BO SAM COMBINATION - B6 DUK BO SAM COMBINATION BF ($177.99): Duk Bo Sam refers to rice paper which is typically eaten with various meats. This combination, which can feed 6 people, came with Black Angus Brisket Point, Rib Eye, Beef Tongue and Choice Boneless Short Ribs for the grill. It also came with a side- we chose Glass Noodles, Duk Bosam (rice paper) and Soju/Beer. Since our party forewent alcohol, our waitress was nice enough to offer more meat instead. I appreciate that since our party did not drink any alcohol, they said they would give us more meat instead. FRIED DUMPLING: We ordered the glass noodles but received the fried dumpling instead. I'm not generally a fan of the flavor profile that is typical of Korean dumplings, but you do, these dumplings may satisfy you. Cons: -they got the order wrong and gave us fried dumplings (which were not to my taste) instead of the glass noodles - the meat tasted bland/ watery? Pros: - because we did not drink alcohol, the waitress was kind enough to give us more meat instead Environment: It is a nice, clean Korean family-style restaurant. Given that it is a BBQ restaurant, you will come out smelling like meat. read more

Always delicious traditional Korean food, we make sure to order bbq for the live grilling along with the dumpling rice cake soup, stone bowl bibimbap, and this time tried the kalbi tang!! My dad loved the flavor of the kalbi tang broth and wished he knew about it sooner as we have been coming here for years. The waitresses work hard and are attentive, making sure the meat is grilled, your cup is never empty, and that you have all your ban chan refilled. The restaurant inside can get pretty smoky because of all the grills and it's definitely a lively setting, so that is one consideration if you are more sensitive to smoke; though they have an area off to the side further away from all the hot grills too! read more

Great little Korean bbq restaurant nestled in an outside shopping complex. Tried Gen across the street but was automatically turned off by the long line of people waiting outside the restaurant. Luckily we stumbled upon this place instead. They don't have all you can eat but their portions are satisfying. The quality of their meat is great. They have a great selection of traditional Korean bbq as well as delicious sides as well. You order everything a la carte but there are also family meals that save you a little money as well. The staff are very attentive and always make sure you're not cooking your food wrong. Would recommend this place if you're not looking to overstuff yourself at an AYCE. Parking is not bad since they're in the shopping complex. Even on their busy days the wait never exceeds what you'd normally wait at Gen on a busy day even though their restaurant is smaller. read more

Good Korean food in the valley. I order from here at least twice a month. Honestly everything I've had is pretty good. Being Korean myself, I'm a hard judge with Korean food. My mom and I like to order the galbi tang (galbi soup. Absolutely delicious) the eundagoo jorrim (spicy black cod stew - amazing flavor if you like spicy). Those are our main go tos.. I also like their bbq and cold noodles when I'm dining in. Their gamja tang (potato pork stew is also amazing and large enough to share for people who like a little spice). I think I'll go here for brunch today, lol. read more

Best service in the valley by far. They will have you eating within 2 minutes of seating you. The waitresses all help each other as a team and they really pay attention to details. The food is as amazing as the service. I usually drop my car off at the car wash on the corner of Reseda and Devonshire and go in here for lunch. Time well spent. read more

Mom and pop shop and I'm here for it! They're always busy and busy is good! The aunties are so attentive! The spicy dipping sauce... If you know, you know! We've loved this place forever. Unfortunately, they changed the recipe for their hot sauce, evidently because of the expense of the ingredients, and it's just not the same. The food was good but customer service was TERRIBLE. I wish I could give them 0 star. We came around 8:20pm but waited for our table for over 20 mins which is I understand because we just walked in. Once we seated, we just opened the menu and a lady came to rush us to order. Excuse me, you didn't give your customers even 2 mins to read the menu??? They close at 10pm but around 9:30pm they would want to kick you out of the restaurant. And then after we paid the check, a lady came back to us and asked for more TIP. We were shocked because this never happened to us before in other restaurants. She said "usually the tip is 18%". If your service is good, of course customers will like to tip your more. This is not right, not the way how to run the business. We would never come in back. read more

I thought the food was delicious and the food portions were meant to be shared with family and friends. They do have dishes if going alone. My recommendation is to go with others. My family and I were Koreans, so service was prompt. I didn't see a lot of non-Koreans in the restaurant. If you're not familiar with Korean food, go with someone who is Korean. Super good Korean BBQ, especially for not being in K-town. My dad and brother love the meat grilling here, while my mom, sister and I love the vegetarian and pescatarian options. What's good: 1. All the marinated beef 2. Bibimbap (regular and dolsot) 3. Fried mackerel (big portion) You can make the bibimbap vegan or vegetarian if you ask them to leave out the egg and beef. We usually ask for it on the side so other people can eat it. With the BBQ they give you little rice wrap squares in which you make little meat and salad wraps. It's pretty cool and a fun change from lettuce wraps in most KBBQ places. It gets packed during peak weekend lunch and dinner hours so try to go early. Free parking in the shared lot! read more

Great kbbq! Our usual spot when we are craving kbbq. Located behind the car wash, they have there own parking lot and don't usually have to wait. It's not AYCE but we always go home with leftovers. We usually order dinner combo B2. They have a lunch special served till 3 which is a great deal! Servers are sweet Korean ladies that quickly respond. read more

Simply the best Korean barbeque place in the whole valley, nothing can compete. The meat quality is fantastic, really good selection of meat. It's not AYCE, but even the basic sets can easily feed a family of four. The service is nice but brisk (what I call streamlined Korean), it'll feel a bit cold but don't take it personally. Visit often and the ladies will eventually know your preferences. Excellent spot, definitely a favorite. read more

We tried: Dim Sum 10 pc $16.99 Korean style dumplings 8 pc $15.99 King Steamed Dumpling With Pork And Vegetables 4pc $15.99 Pan Fried Dumplings 10pc $16.99 My favorites were the Korean style dumplings and Pan Fried Dumplings. King Steamed Dumpling With Pork And Vegetables is huge, fluffy and bouncy. The taste of the filling was okay. The dim sum was a good size and looked pretty. Hard to pick up with chopsticks without the bottom breaking. The bottom was really delicate so using a spoon makes it easier. The Marinaded Beef $15.99 (half order) was perfect with rice. Complimentary small Sides: kimchi, pickled radish and cabbage salad. I really liked the pickled radish. This place is tucked away in a strip near the Northridge Promenade Shopping Center. Parking can be difficult during peak hours. Nyi had wonderful customer service.

Light on flavor but sometimes that's what you want. It was served with lots of sliced beef. The tteok-bokki is not my favorite dish but everyone seemed to like it. Lots of sausage, thick pieces of sliced pork, and the cylinder shaped rice cakes topped with ramen. The sauce tastes like fancy ketchup to me. Definitely not my thing. The banchan was light with four small dishes but my favorites like kimchi and bean sprouts were there. I would definitely come back especially if I'm ever in the area. There's plenty of parking and the staff is attentive.
