The donuts aren't overly sugary like RR Donuts. Sweet, but a thinner glaze that makes them a little dangerous... so easy to keep eating! Friendly staff too :-) service with a smile. My favorite are the lemon-filled donuts. The lemon has a tartness that balances the sugary taste perfectly. Blueberry is great too! I've always loved Shipley's! The past 3 times I've come to this location, they have been out of lemon-filled donuts. I arrived earlier today and they didn't have any. Suggestion: if lemon-filled is a popular choice, please make more! Or if it's not a top seller, please keep them on the rack. The items on the menu should be available. It's different if it's close to closing time and certain items are sold out; however, this was 9:00 am. That's my Man Crush's favorite and I told him I'd get him a couple but nope! Had to go with his second favorite, cherry-filled. Also, what happened to WARM glazed donuts? Again, the past times I've gone by, the glazed donuts are cold. I used to get nice, warm ones. Came to get a dozen kolaches for the office and the gentleman running the store was rude, said I don't speak English and continued to berate me because they could not understand a simple order. It was all my fault and instead of deescalating, which I tried multiple times, he continued to tell me that I wasn't ordering correctly. I did not hire his staff and I read the menu exactly as written multiple times. I truly don't understand his hostility, but he said it's because he had other customers. I got owner/operator vibes, but if he isn't, he should be fired. I get being busy and frustrated, but don't take it out on customers. Constructive criticism for Shipley in general; They have to do something different independent coffee chains make each chain unique; their design needs to be different at every location. There layout needs to be consistently different. The chair need to be comfy, make this the college students area to study. Market to studying college kids. They need to start doing coffee relevant to summer moons coffee (don't copy) but make coffee bigger at Shipley. sell, oat milk, almond milk, with other milks. There could be a world without Shipley or their could be a world were Shipley plays with the bigger candidates. I just picked up an order I placed through the app and the gentleman at the counter was beyond rude. When I got to the counter, he was helping another customer. I stepped to the side when I saw some mobile orders to see if mine was there (I had already paid). He turns to me and says, What's the name? I replied Andy or Andrew (I use both). He replied, "can you pull up the order?" I said, oh okay and opened the app. He then said, it would go a lot faster if you came prepared. I thought this to be ride, but shrugged it off. As I had never ordered using the app before I looked around it and asked, where would the order be? Instead of answering, he took my order and put it under the counter. I continued to look and found the online order. He then came back and asked, did you find it? I said, I sure did and held it up. He then plopped the bag on the counter. No "thank you", no explanation, no "sorry about that" no " have a nice day". I understand making sure people don't just take random ideas but his demeanor and attitude was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. I love Shipleys and have been to this store before, but I will never return to this one. Until today, i haven't been to this place personally, it's always my husband, who has bought, but today decided to go check this place myself, it's pretty close to us, they have a decent selection of donuts, I decided to go with half dozen, 3 plain sugar, 1chocolate nut, 1 strawberry sprinkles and 1bulls eye. the person who took my order mentioned bulls eye are considered as pastries and they charge extra for it not assorted price and he showed me another donut which has same filling(marshmallow cream),it isn't fancy but considered as assorted so no extra charge, I was totally impressed with the customer service:) Donuts looks big, but they are light and airy inside, it's not soft, sort of chewy texture, like a soft bread, if you just eat donuts with out coffee, after taste is bit dryness in your mouth. This place is the best. A true family run business. Brian the owner is amazing. He has always gave us personal attention, taken great care of our experience, and been nice and engaging to our kids. His son Brandon who works there has also been an absolute pleasure to be around. The staff is nice, the donuts are amazing, and the place is always clean and welcoming. I love that they make sure the glazed donuts are warm for the kids. They are the best glazed donuts in town. No one wearing masks. The cashier, bakers, no one! When I inquired, the cashier said she forgot hers and had not had the chance to get a spare one. One hour after they had opened. I hate to give Shipley Do-Nuts a 2 star review, because this is my 1st time eating their food, but it wasn't worth the money that I spent personally. I added a photo of the jalapeno cheese kolache that I bought, and the bread was very, very stale. There were 2 slices of jalapeno laying inside the bread, and I don't believe there was any cheese at all. This should have just been rolled in a croissant because the sausage was so small compared to the bread. The taste with not very appetizing. I also ordered four ice chocolate donuts, and I only received one iced chocolate donut and the rest were cake donuts. I love donuts. They are one of the few things in life that make me heart eyes. This was the second time I've had Shipley and they seriously never disappoint. I came in at 6am because I couldn't sleep and I kept thinking about Bavarian Cream donuts, logically I hauled ass and made it there in less than 10 minutes. It was too early to be busy but I could tell they would be soon. I got 2 bavarian cream, 1 raspberry filled, 1 crunchy and 2 glazed. I didn't really have a game plan for what I wanted and was pretty sure I annoyed the girl behind the counter because of my indecisiveness. Anyways, the donuts were great. The bavarian cream was on point, the raspberry was delicious and the the crunchy one was still warm. Honestly, I like Shipley because of the soft fluff factor that each donut has. I wish I had investigated/paid more attention to how the cream tasted! Shipley is a little overly sweet but donuts are supposed to be sweet! Stopped in today with my daughter and granddaughter for a mid morning snack. My granddaughter wanted a pink sprinkled donut, my daughter ordered two sausage and cheese kolaches and I ordered two jalapeño sausage and cheese kolaches and we ordered one power aide drink. The gentlemen who helped us was very nice. The place was clean and the snacks were very good. However being a full blooded Czechoslovakian, these are not kolaches, but klobasnikis. Everything here in Texas is called a kolache, but a true kolache looks like a donut with a bottom and the center is generally filled with fruit, but on any hand, I'll live with calling them kolaches and I'll keep on enjoying them. read more

I went in with my daughter this morning to get donuts for my kids. Everything was great except for the man (100% on amphetamines) who was inserting himself into every transaction. The teenagers were doing just fine, but I assumed he must have owned the place with the way he was acting. He was rude to a lady in the drive through because she didn't know the name of the type of chocolate donut, then to an elderly man who clearly only had a little English proficiency when he couldn't identify the proper name of a sugar donut, and then me when I changed my mind about an iced coffee since I couldn't get plain coffee with ice in it. I asked the young guy if he was his boss and he was clearly scared. As soon as I asked the man came from the back "What did you just say??" And I explained that I asked if he owned the place because if he did I didn't want to give home my money. Again the only reason I assumed he was the owner was he was the oldest and only person not in a uniform. (Let's go Brandon t-shirt and cap). Any how I like going to Shipley's for my kids, but I will not go to this location. It's a new opened donuts place just south of Avery. I stopped by for a cup of coffee in the morning. There are three staff in store. Because there are so many customer waiting in drive-through line, I decided to order inside. The customers made the three staffs super busy. They are all very nice and asked the options I like and told me the differences of kolaches every time I went to the store. I like their coffee mug which will never burn your hand. Whenever we talk donuts, BF always raves about Shipley's. So one Sunday, I made the trek to the nearest Shipley's. I arrived at 7AM so there was a wide selection. There is one customer ordering a couple dozen donuts that the girl behind the counter was helping. The customer is letting his very young daughter pick the donuts. I knew this may be a looong wait. From the back comes a young guy who helps me. Okay, he tried but looked like he had a hangover and didn't function well. Most reviews praised the Maple covered donut, so one of those. Next up were my favorites, a raspberry filled and a chocolate covered. Why can't I get a raspberry filled with powdered sugar, all I seem to find is normal sugar-coated. Looking for the chocolate covered and all I see is a chocolate covered CAKE donut but I wanted yeast. I ask and Hangover guy shuffles to the back. By this time the girl is finished waiting on the other customer. She cheerfully asks what else I would like. I get a plain sausage kolache just to try it. She rings me up and I pay. Then wait for my last donut from Hangover guy. Wow, these two are like day and night. Finally he comes back. I get FRESHLY DIPPED CHOCOLATE COVERED DONUT. Home was only 10 minutes away, but could I wait? Noooo. The aroma was too much so I reached in the bag to pull out one. Maple glazed, it is. A small bite and mmmmmm came out of my mouth. This Shipley's is amazing! Myself, husband Jordan and 3 kiddos come weekly on Sunday's before church. They look forward to it. We have gotten to know the owner and his family. They are all so kind. The donuts are great (especially the glazed warm donut that melts in your mouth!), the staff is very friendly and they work hard to make sure everyone is given the time and attention needed!
