I gave the attendant $1 and he advised it would be 1.08 then- change which I didn't have and didn't want to charge the card for 8 cents. They are apparently strict about giving out side sauces and have to nickel and dime each and every item. I don't mind paying for it but 100% expect better customer service when I am ordering in large amounts. Being middle easter I must say it's kind of hard finding a place that I like when it comes to Lebanese food because the best is usually mom made lol, but this place is great! They have daily specials that vary that are just like homemade! I love their falafels and their sambusik are phenomenal, the garlic sauce that comes with them is to die for. They even offer catering which is delicious as well! My favorite part is that I now have a middle eastern grocery store near by. My family took this to-go for lunch today. It was so popular that we came for dinner too! We got the Gyro Sandwich, Fatoush, and some sort of falafel plate. Damn. This placed crushed it. Visiting monthly now! Walked right in and was overwhelmed at the huge delicious menu. The lady behind the counter was SO friendly and helpful; so nice to have some guidance on what things are and what to try based on our preferences. I ordered the combo lunch plate in order to try a few different yummy sounding options. It had chicken, steak and a beef/lamb Kafta kebob. They were all delicious! The plate of meat also came with soup/salad to start; the main came with a hefty serving of rice, plus a suuuuper yummy garlic sauce. I don't think I ate dinner that night, such generous portions. And of course no Mediterranean meal would be complete without a sweet. Their house made baklava was ::chef's kiss:: so good. Returned last month and tried a sandwich item, the gyro. Came with fries (I'm obsessed with fries and my only suggestion would be to add a few more fries to the plate bc I love them!). I asked for grilled onions on my gyro. Everything was great. I concluded the meal once again with baklava bc it's simply divine. Planning to return again soon; I plan to get the spicy chicken plate! Shish Grill is a small Mediterranean establishment located at The Marketplace retail center in San Ramon, CA. While it specializes in Lebanese cuisine that I am not too familiar with, it was the presence of kabobs and shawarmas on their menu that brought me here. The food was tasty, but it was the Shish Specialty Garlic Sauce that made me come back for more. Shish Specialty Garlic Sauce - Starting with the obvious, this sauce is the reason for the special in specialty, the extra in extraordinary, the super in supernatural, the good in goodness, and the bad in bad breath. It's a definite game changer as one dip can spell a big difference in the overall taste of the food. Shish Combo Plate - Skewer of lamb, chicken, and kafta (mixture of ground beef and lamb with onion, parsley, and spices) over a bed of yellow rice and served with either salad or soup. The meats were well-seasoned, but the portions were smaller than the average kabob cuts. On a couple of occasions that I've had this, the lamb and chicken were a tad dry. However, it wasn't something that the garlic sauce could not remedy. Lavash Wrap - Delicious ground beef and lamb with chopped onion, wrapped in flatbread, griddled to perfection, and then topped with parsley. It came nicely plated over rice and the aroma was quite appetizing. Looked good, tasted even better. Spicy Chicken - Stir-fried cubes of chicken breast with bell pepper, onion, roasted garlic, and their own blend of hot sauce. It's also served with their signature garlic sauce on the side, so this dish is a real winner! Chicken Shawarma Sandwich - This wasn't the authentic version that was shaved from a vertical spit of meat. It was the pre-sliced, marinated meat freshly cooked on a griddle, wrapped with veggies and garlic sauce, then served with French fries. It was fine, but the Lavash Wrap was the better choice. Prices were a bit high considering that this is a counter-style restaurant. Lunch could get really busy and although seating appears to be limited inside, there are a few tables outside as well. I've had mixed results with the kabobs, but the Lavash Wrap and Spicy Chicken have been very solid. And let's not forget the Shish Specialty Garlic Sauce which made me a fan... read more

I stopped by this place to grab a quick lunch earlier today and i ordered the beef shawarma sandwich, it was sooooo good, the meat is so soft and not chewy, i've been to other places and the meat feels like gum but i just know this place cooks it fresh the same day, it always taste great it's like an explosion of flavors !! If I could give this business a six star review, I would. I came here for the first time today stressed out and hungry. Both Nancy and the friendly new hire were so helpful and welcoming. I was unsure of what to order so Nancy asked what kind of meat I prefer. I told her I prefer lamb and she recommended the lavash wrap. Genuinely, this meal is one of the most delicious I have ever had. Nancy was very kind to check in with me as I was dining outdoors. Man, I'm at Shish Grill at least once a month. I just got Shish Grill and have been thinking about what to write since I left. What don't I like about this place? Nothing. Early in the pandemic, we "discovered" Shish Grill and it has been our going-out-to-eat rotation. Every single time, she gets the Chicken Schwarma (sp?) and I get either the Gyro plate, the Chicken Soulvaki, or something else. Every single time, it is really, really good. Here's what I like about it in order from what I most: 1. The sauces that come with the entrees are off the chain good. They are different too. The chicken schwarma one is garlic-y and really delicious. The ones I get are a little lighter, taste more like yogurt or that tahini flavor - it is so good. 2. The rice is excellent. If you ever carb diet (I don't on purpose but it happens when I've eaten all the carbs in the crib), go here after and eat the golden yellow rice. It is very flavorful and I am sure it is cooked in some sort of stock that is made of the meat that is on top. 3. The portions are really epic. It is good enough for a big dinner and a snack afterward at least. I like everything about this place so that is why I am happy to write this review and to guide the folks that are in San Ramon to one of its hidden treasures. read more

It is exotically spiced and delicious. My Souvlaki Chicken entree was lovely. The cuts of chicken breast are seasoned to perfection and feel like biting into beef. Great service and pretty good and solid cuisine. The food is more on the Palestinian/Lebanese style, as you'll find many traditional dishes that Arab families make at home. The food is very fresh and the portions are very big. My favorite here is the falafel, its hot crispy and soft on the inside. Not overly spiced and greasy. They are a little high though, I paid $25 for a dozen, where most places charge quite a bit less, even with the inflation being what it is, but regardless, I don't mind paying a little more to support a small family run restaurant in order for them to survive. read more

This place is pretty solid. I feel bad because I think they'd perform much better in a city like Berkeley than in San Ramon. I had the shish combo plate. It was surprisingly expensive, about $20. But boy it was worth it. The meat is pretty flavorful, and the lamb retains a nice "lamb" flavor that some places mistakenly cook out of the meat. I think the peppers / vegetables could have been a little bit softer or more flavorful. The rice was so good; I only ate a couple of bites of it but I could tell it would have gone really well with everything. The lentil soup was nothing special, but it reminded me of the kind of soup my nanny would make when I was a kid. A huge hidden gem here is the sauce they gave on the side with the shish combo plate. It tastes like it's really bad for you, but it's absolutely delicious. It goes well with the chicken.
