B4. Fish Fillet with Pickled Pepper and Sour Cabbage
    Aria S.

I love Chinese food - particularly spicy/Szhechuan Chinese food. But I just wish this was was better quality food. I ordered take out with eggplant in garlic sauce and fish filet with pickled peppers and soured cabbage. The eggplant was overly sweet and the sauce was very oily and heavy. The fish dish overall had better texture but was so salty. I'll think twice about ordering this again. Quite disappointing . I love the flavors, just wish quality was better

Mongolian beef was a bit sweet. The fried rice really tasted like normal rice. I'm from the Midwest where our fried rice is darker and full of flavor so if that's what you are used to you won't like this. Portion size was good though.

12/28/2022 (geez...almost a year before posting 11/30/2023) Afternoon. Nice ambiance Fragrant delicious smell from kitchen Tried 2 dishes Lettuce wraps with chicken..omg flavorful. Savor every bite. Lettuce crisp and fresh. Beef with Cilantro Soup. Large bowl! My main course. Couldn't eat all of it. Definitely could be shareable with another person. Green tea. Loved the idea of having a pot and pour as you need. $2.50. Worth it! Spent under $22 for my meal. Young lady/hostess was nice. Periodic check-in. Didn't rush you. Patient with whatever question I had. I'll definitely add this to my rotation of restaurants when in the area. 11/30/2023....they should know me by now! I'm in there at least once a month. I'll actually plan on going tomorrow, 12/1/2023. Food is sooo good here...always hot! Many dishes to try.

Food was fresh and the dinner is large with a small side of fried rice with included $16 price. Quantity and price match.

Just enjoyed takeout from Sho Spicy again! Delicious as always . . . Fresh, tasty, well-seasoned, and well-prepared. Sho Spicy never disappoints. They honor your requests, making sure you get the full-on Szechuan heat or the less-than-melting palate mild seasoning. If you like to get your spicy heat on, or if you like your Chinese take-out on the mild size, you'll definitely enjoy this delicious food.

L8. Kung Pao Chicken and A1. Veggie Spring Roll
    Lilliana C.

Sho Spicy is my go-to restaurant for Chinese takeout. The food is always fresh and the portions last me about 3 meals. My favorite thing on the menu is the Kung Pao Chicken. It comes with a side of white rice (you can upgrade for fried rice - but in my opinion it isn't worth it. Their fried rice is very lackluster. There are minimal veggies & egg...not worth the extra charge). As an app, I love the Veggie Spring Rolls - so crispy and delish! While I've only eaten inside the restaurant once, it was a great experience! It was very quiet - my group was one of the only tables, as it was a weeknight. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly!

V1. Sichuan Style Dry Fried Eggplant

Got takeout: (1) double cooked pork and (2) spicy dry fried eggplant. Rounded out to about $33 without tip. Both came with white rice. (1) double cooked pork: okay but very fatty and oily. Cooked with thick green onion slices or maybe it's a different type of vegetable. Idk it's almost a little too decadent. (2) dry fried eggplant: sautéed with herb stems and peppers. Pretty good, the pieces are thick with the crust sort of crunchy while the inside is very soft. Spice level was around mild/medium but if you're sensitive to spice, I wouldn't recommend this dish. Portions are very large, each order could last for 2-3 meals. Service: super nice and polite, they had my order ready in less than 10 minutes. Overall: I would recommend this place for a casual lunch spot to try (seems to have lunch specials for $9.95)

    Crab Rangoon
    Farzana Z.

When I walked in the restaurant, I definitely thought the food would be overpriced because of how gorgeous the interior looked, but the menu surprised me. The food is in fact quite reasonable. It was a cold afternoon so we ordered a tea pot of hot jasmine tea that cost about $5.95 For appetizer we ordered some crab rangoon (the shell was quite crispy but I was not a huge fan of the filling), we got the chicken coconut soup which was so amazing (the flavor of the cilantro mixed with the shrimp and the coconut was mouthwatering), the last thing we got for the appetizer was the numbing beef rolls- they were served cold as its supposed to be and we loved them. For entrees- we ordered the fried rice, spicy garlic eggplant and hot n numbing chicken (for me- it was alright because everything had a sweet taste to it) but I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you don't like very hot food. The staff here are very welcoming and sweet so that's always a plus. It's a great date night place because of how pretty it looks. Don't worry about parking at all because there's always plenty of parking available right in front of the restaurant.

Jjambong had the haemul (seafood) overflowing like the organ between my loins, but damn - what a bounty of seafood. Squid was also sitting up top like the jjambong bowls back in Korea. Broth was good, noodles were green - brb, throwing my glasses at the wall out of pure joy and disbelief at how damn good it was. Tangsuyuk? oh my word - just the right amount of crisp. Not so damn deep-fried like other places to the point of when you put it in your mouth, it scratches the skin off the roof of your mouth and cheek-walls like a blue-dolphin does (iiykyk). Just the perfect ratio of frying AND pork - I just rabidly shoved the whole piece in to my mouth, so damn good. Being able to see into the kitchen while the food was being prepared added a sense of trust and transparency, which I appreciated. The service was very good. The staff checked on us regularly and brought what we needed quickly. Everyone was friendly and attentive. As for the food, I usually tend to be fairly generous in my ratings, but on the day I visited, the dishes were noticeably salty. The seafood noodle soup, jajangmyeon, and fried rice were all saltier than expected. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but this part was a bit disappointing. That said, the overall experience was still decent, and I hope the seasoning is more balanced on my next visit.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!

The drink was really good, especially for a restaurant!! Very floral tea with fruity mango notes, it was so good I wanted another one. The mapo tofu was very rich in flavor, it had the spiciness but also held the body of the black bean flavor without being oily. So far our favorite mapo tofu in the area. The Yummy Spicy Chicken (fried cubed chicken with peppers) was the same, the crunchiness was perfect and the chicken was still moist. I do wish it had a little more spice but it was still good. The Jing Jiang pork also tasted good, but I was quite surprised with the meat quality as re-heating the next day did not have any gamey flavors.
