I had been wanting to try conveyor belt sushi for a while, but I knew going into it that it was more for the experience than for the sushi itself. Shogun X met that expectation and it was a super fun experience but you can definitely find higher quality sushi elsewhere! The speed was great for anything you ordered on the iPad, my one big complaint is that depending on where you're sitting, the conveyor belt might be cleared out by the time it comes around to you.

We had a very good experience here coming at dinner time on a weekday. The place got pretty packed starting at 5 PM, but we were able to get seated. The inside decor is really cool. They have shogun references everywhere. The food was pretty good actually. They have numerous appetizers on the menu and different sushi coming out on the conveyor. I like the portion sizes actually. They have a lot of cool combinations that mix salmon, imitation, lobster, and eel. I highly recommend everyone make a trip here at one point!

Tried out Shogun with reservations for lunch yesterday with my daughter. There wasn't a long wait which was nice. We sat closer to the kitchen which is also a plus. My favorite part about this style of ayce sushi is that if you're hungry and in a rush, there is no shortage of yummy sushi to try and it just keeps on coming. I also really like how there are two rolls per plate. At ayce places where you have to write in your order, the smallest amount for rolls at a time is 6 which makes selections very deliberate as to not over order. Needless to say I tried some new concoctions but always with mango and always with spicy salmon as a personal preference. The ramen is watered down so I wouldn't suggest ordering that, the udon was ok. I wouldn't be back but it's a tiny bit pricey. Thanks shogun!

Really great all-you-can-eat experience! Decided to try out this new place and was pleasantly surprised. There likely will be a wait, especially at busier times, due to the newness of the place. However, my partner and I only waited about 30 minutes. The food was fresh and delicious, and orders came out quickly. The revolving sushi options were also great, and consistent. I was very pleased with portions as well--many AYCE places serve large or inconsistent portions making it difficult to gauge how much food you will want to order. Here, though, portions were small and consistent, meaning we could try lots of different things. Also, having the sushi revolving next to you while you eat was lots of fun. I will definitely be back!

Excited to see what's to come. Soft opening was today, and I don't think they were entirely ready for it. Came earlier in the day to take advantage of the lunch prices and was told to come later due to no seating for two people available, but for 3+ there were. Came back at the time they re-opened and realized it was dinner prices now. For the price we paid, I don't think it was worth it. Although the interior is aesthetically pleasing, the actual service was a bit of a mess. There was no organization to be able to get a table. It was an honor system that no one cut you in the wait and if the host remembered you were waiting. Once seated, small amounts of a roll would come down the belt; this was more of an issue for those who sat further away from the kitchen, since they'd get nothing by the time the name plaques came to them. I was sat near the kitchen so I got to try everything, but the couple diagonal to me spent maybe the first 15 minutes with nothing reaching them, until they had to reach other to my side of the belt to get food. Every moment the waitress was reaching over us actively eating to grab the plates we had; not an issue either but maybe let a small pile form rather than collecting every single time possible. The food itself was very mid. We were very underwhelmed with the taste/quality of the rolls coming through. We tried a few times to order off the all you can eat menu and nothing ever came to us until we had to ask the waitress about we had ordered on their ipad system. Even with that, out of the 4 plates we ordered, only one ever showed up. No one explains the difference in plate colors or how they operate so it's a learning curve for everyone. Once seated, you need to find your waitress for any water or drinks you want. The most underwhelming part of it all, the ice cream at the end wasn't even good. I think this restaurant had potential to be better, they just needed a practice round for operations before opening.

My two friends and I went during the second weekend of the soft launch and had such a great time! The conveyor belt is so fun and there was so much sushi floating around the restaurant. The sushi comes with 2 pieces per plate and there was a great variety in roll options. The plates can be a little difficult to grab on their way by but once you get the hang of it, you're good to go. There is an iPad at the table for ordering any sushi rolls, ramen, appetizers, and much more and it either gets delivered by a waitress in a cart or by the tiny railroad track above the conveyor belt. We tried to go for a late lunch at 3pm, but we're told the dinner seating didn't start until 3:30pm. Even at 3pm on the second week it was open, we were fourth in line so I would advise getting there early if you can. The dinner was $37.99 per person, it did note on the menu that kids were 50% off, and I believe the lunch seating will be cheaper. The $37.99 is all you can eat from the conveyor belt, plus you could order anything off the tablet, but the beverages were an additional $3 because their soda machine didn't work yet. I don't see accurate hours listed online, but I'm sure they'll update those once the restaurant is fully launched. Overall, I think it's a wonderful experience and a lot of fun for people of all ages.

Cockroaches. Decent sushi on the belt though
    Brett R.

COCKROACHES! So I wanted to get sushi and try this place out. Sushi wasn't too bad. The servers were nice and attentive to me. The layout of the restaurant was nice but the cockroaches... I can't get over that. These are what you call "German cockroaches" if you look them up.

My friend brought me here for sushi--this place is so cute, and the sushi is really fresh.

Came here for dinner with a friend and loved it right away. The decor is absolutely stunning and really catches your eye as soon as you walk in. We had a short wait, but nothing too bad. I was obsessed with the cute little serving robot--it was such a fun touch! We had a great time enjoying our meal, and even played the claw machine afterward, which made the whole experience even more memorable. The vibe here is amazing. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

    Raw chicken

I was excited after hearing about this place coming to Manchester. I went on a weekend so I was not too surprised that it was an hour wait to be seated. Personally, I did not feel that the quality of the food justified the price. More importantly, my chicken was completely raw, and they did not do anything to remedy the situation. Overall, would not return to this place and recommend checking your chicken before eating it.

They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. You can order things without the dressing or sauces (see the house salad without dressing....yes, it's just lettuce lol) Make sure to save room for ice cream! They have Vanilla, Green Tea (Matcha), Strawberry, and Fried (Vanilla). The Green Tea is a really strong matcha, which I love! For $28/weekend adult pricing, it's a pretty good deal. Just make sure you leave time to sit and wait.

I'm back! When it comes to Japanese food, this is a favorite of mine. It has a very "family" feel…read moreto it. For my first drink? I'm having a French Martini made with Grey Goose vodka, Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice. The main menu has not changed here in years. The prices have gone up a bit but only slightly, so it's good if you're on a budget too. This is good! They don't garnish here. They do use medium sized martini glasses (not the small ones). For my first item, I'm having the House Green Salad. This is made with iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. I LOVE their ginger dressing! I like the soothing music here. This salad is awesome! For my next item, I'm having a miso soup. This is the lowest price I've ever seen ($2.50). It is a soybean soup made with tofu, scallions and seaweed. Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup made from a dashi stock mixed with miso paste, a fermented soybean paste, giving it a savory, umami flavor. Key ingredients often include tofu, seaweed (wakame), and scallions, but it can be customized with mushrooms, clams, or other additions. It's served hot, typically as part of a traditional Japanese meal, and should not be boiled after adding the miso to preserve its flavor and nutrients. I get the "big" bowl. This is hot and steamy. It is delicious! For my next item, I'm having the Seaweed Salad. Japanese seaweed salad (often called wakame salad) is a vibrant, refreshing, and umami-packed dish. It is made by rehydrating dried seaweed, tossing it with a vinaigrette made of sesame oil, soy sauce, and rice vinegar, and garnishing it with sesame seeds. I love this stiff although it sticks to your teeth sometimes. It is quite chilled. For my next item, I'm having edamame. These are a superfood. Boiled soybeans with salt! Edamame is a Japanese dish of young soybeans, typically boiled or steamed in the pod and served as a snack or appetizer, often with salt. It can also be prepared shelled (mukimame) and seasoned in various ways, such as with garlic, soy sauce, chili, or sesame oil, and served warm or cold in salads. The beans are known for being a protein-rich, healthy, and versatile ingredient. For my next drink, I am having a Strawberry Martini made with Svensk Wild Strawberry vodka, sweet vermouth and a splash of strawberry liqueur. Oh wow! This is good! Yes, you can taste the alcohol here! These edamame are good! No shortage of salt here either! For my next food item, I'm having the Tuna Tataki (extra spicy) made with thinly sliced seared tuna served with ponzu sauce. Tuna tataki is a Japanese culinary method where a block of sushi-grade tuna is briefly seared on all sides, leaving the interior raw. It is sliced thinly, served with a citrus-soy (ponzu) sauce, and often garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, and grated ginger. Wow! Extra spicy it is! I've never seen so many fresh jalapeños in one of these dishes! The sauce was REALLY spicy! This is great! For my next item, I'm having the Ikura (A La Carte menu). Ikura is the Japanese term for cured salmon roe (fish eggs). Prized for its vibrant orange color and signature "pop," the individual eggs are typically marinated in a soy sauce, sake, and mirin brine. It is most commonly served atop vinegared rice wrapped in a strip of nori seaweed (known as gunkan maki) or over a bowl of rice (ikura don). This is a taste of the ocean! Cucumber, no rice. It's a must when coming here! The wasabi is wicked strong! It was just made today! I love this! On my! Out comes something I've never seen before! What in the world is this! It looks like spicy tuna on Doritos!? This is great! OMG! ANOTHER bowl of miso soup has showed up! Yikes! They know I'm addicted to this! For my next drink, I am having g a Watermelon Martinj made with Bacardi Light Malibu Coconut, pineapple juice and a splash of mango schnapps. Oh yeah! This is good! Strong too! OMG! I think a Samurai Salad had showed up! So what is the Samurai Salad Recipe & Ingredients? The traditional Samurai Salad is a protein-rich, meal-sized dish. The Base: Mixed salad greens, green onions, and fresh tomato slices. The Protein: Firm slices of tofu brushed with oil and dressing, then grilled or pan-fried until golden brown. The Dressing: A zesty blend of soy sauce, white wine vinegar, grated fresh ginger, and hot pepper seasoning. Wow! This is the best salad I've EVER had! That's a great entree. It's " off menu" too do you need to ask for it. For dessert, I'm having the Fried Crispy Banana. Yeah, right. Let's see what REALLY comes out! OMG! This is IMPOSSIBLE to finish! Look at this monster! Oh no. What is that yellow drink? Don't ask me. I have no idea. It had a nice taste I can't identify. My sister is ordering the Chicken with lemongrass to go. This place is the bomb!
