This place was amazing! They have a great view (if you're looking for a restaurant with one). Also the customer service and food were great. We had fried avocado which had a very flavorful crust. Ive never thought to try fried avocado and my little loved it. I also got the short rib which was amazing. The mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection. I was hesitant about the egg but it paired nicely. Will definitely return.
Cute place! Great staff! My friend took me on a little quest through slide rock and then I got hungry and we ended up here haha. I'm from Seattle so when I decided to order oyster. I was hoping it wasn't going to make me sick. We split a dozen between 3 and I got a roll and wings. The rolls were so good; inhaled it. The wings were great for their size but a bit too sweet for my liking. It was so nice to sit outside and not get hot air being blown on my face.
Celebrated our friend's birthday here! I can honestly say we loved everything. All the apps sounded fantastic and we finally decided on the avocado fries, crab cakes, lido roll, and hamachi crudo. All fresh and delicious! After going all in on the starters, we decided to share the two special entrees of the day: the cioppino and the halibut. Both were a good portion size and had amazing flavor. The cioppino had a fantastic broth I kept spooning over the fish, and it came with the perfect amount of garlic bread to sop it up with. For dessert, we shared a slice of the pineapple carrot cake, which was good but I thought was steep at a hefty $17. Erick was our server and he took great care of us.
Hailey provided sufficient service. She offered recommendations was prompt with order arrivals and remedied a mishap concerning tab cakes that were served cold. Aside from the crab cakes; our group enjoyed the classic breakfast & avocado fries. The patio view was spectacular. It was nice to have the glass shield us from wind chill as we dined. ~C.A.
Came here for brunch. We waited a really long time to be seated but after that service was good (they were short staffed). Everyone enjoyed their food, the only thing that I didn't love was the bacon stuffed egg which was just deviled eggs. The pancakes, the crab Benedict, and a pork dish were all delicious though!
One of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. It has influence from Asian cuisine, Mexican cuisine, and American, and somehow they made a perfect blend. Every dish we had from the sushi to the burger was extremely fresh and tasted great. Everything had a lot of flavor and there was not a single complaint from anyone in our party. Even after asking to move inside after sitting outside, they made the transition easy. The waitstaff is incredibly on top of things and friendly, making the experience even better. Outside as well as inside creates an amazing low-lit environment. It was an enjoyable restaurant, including the music. On top of it all, the prices were incredibly reasonable. I am so happy I chose to come here.
Shorebird was by far our favorite meal in Sedona when we visited over the NY holiday! We snagged a reservation for evening of NYE and got there a little early. We were greeted by a friendly hostess along with the beautiful aroma of fresh seafood upon our arrival. Our server was super friendly and very attentive throughout our meal. We started with a half dozen of raw oysters. These are probably some of the best oysters we've had in a while, and I wish we had ordered more! My partner ordered the catch of the day, which was a delicious entree, but we agreed that my Chilean seabass was definitely the best entree we had, even when compared to many of our other meals in Sedona. The seabass was cooked perfectly with a beautiful crispy crust and was served with mushrooms and some fresh greens. We ended the meal with the pineapple carrot cake which was a large piece of cake!
I was skeptical at first going to a chain restaurant but I really enjoyed my food and experience. The steak sandwich with fries was excellent and so delish! I loved the tomato soup although I skipped the cheddar cheese sandwich. I would definitely go back to another experience!
This modern American restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating. I was solo and grabbed a seat inside. Wanted something light so I thought I would try the balboa sushi roll. It was 20 dollars which seemed a bit high for the description but it made sense with how large it was when it came out. I was full from that one roll easily. I will say I personally like rolls that are smaller and easier to fit in your mouth all at once to get the full flavor profile. It being so large made certain components not fully balance. The sushi rice was also a little on the wet side. I loved they have the kizame style wasabi automatically come with the roll. Their beverage menuhad lemonade and ice tea listed, so I asked for an Arnold palmer, which they kindly made for me.

We made a same-day reservation at Shorebird Coastal since it was conveniently close to our hotel and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with smiles and seated us on their patio, where we had a beautiful view of the sunset to start our evening. Our server was fantastic, he was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. He recommended their catch of the day, the Restaurant Week menu, and even helped us choose drinks that matched our preferences (a small touch that goes a long way). To start, we ordered the Catalina Rolls, which were amazing, fresh, flavorful, and the perfect match for our cocktail and beer. My girlfriend went with the Restaurant Week deal, which included the halibut catch of the day, avocado fries (a must-try, especially with their dipping sauce), and finished with a warm brownie topped with walnut caramel ice cream. Everything was spot-on from start to finish. I went with the filet mignon, served over risotto and mushrooms in a rich sauce which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Overall, Shorebird Coastal delivered across the board with great ambiance, excellent service, and food that truly impressed. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, especially around sunset!
We showed up here on a Saturday night with no reservations as it was right next-door to our hotel. It was also raining! We knew it would be a longshot, but we popped in anyway. The receptionist was very kind and said they had no reservations, but we were welcome to eat at the bar and receive full service. We took her up on that offer. Felix was the bartender and our server. He was so friendly right from the start. He said "it looks like you signed up for dinner and a show." Per his recommendations, we had the Chilean Seabass and Duroc pork chop along with an old-fashioned. We did enjoy watching him make the drinks. The Italian Seabass was excellent and perfectly cooked. The pork chop had a fall flavor to it that we enjoyed. They were so kind about letting us hang around on the patio until the rain storm stopped so we could walk back to our hotel. What a fun evening!
Really good! My family and I came here for New Years Eve dinner and had a great meal. We started with the devil eggs and lemon hummus, both were excellent. I got the salmon entree which was really good just a small portion. My mom got the vegetarian tacos which were a much larger portion. Our waiter was very kind and very busy but she was working hard! The restaurant itself is pretty small but the patio is nice and warm. Overall this place was a nice atmosphere and would definitely come back!

Credit to my better half for recommending Shorebird. He had been to their location in Hawaii & loved it so we figured we'd give the Sedona location a try. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We came for brunch & the weather was on point so we sat outside on the patio. The views of the mountains were magical. We started out with the mimosa special, a bottle of champagne & carafe of OJ. The only way to brunch. For food I had the crab eggs benedict. The flavor was so so good. I loved the lump pieces & the sourdough base. The house potatoes were amazing too. Pro tip: ask for a side of their homemade ketchup! The perfect brunch & way to cap off our trip! read more
I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think it was all that especially for the price. My bf and I visited Sedona for the first time and came into town late. This was one of the few restaurants that were still open later in the evening and didn't have such a long wait. We knew this was a higher end restaurant so we had high expectations. - Twice Fried Chicken Wings: The flavor was good but the batter didn't stick well to the chicken. It completely fell off which was weird. - Catalina Roll: It was decent, nothing anything special. - Hokkaido Scallops: Also came with baked mussels. The scallops weren't cooked through even though it had a nice sear. It was in a watery sweet corn soup, which was also weird. It would've been better if it was a thick purée. - Pan Roasted Halibut: It was tasty but again, nothing special. My bf thought sherry & tomato vinaigrette didn't go well with the halibut. - Garlic Mushroom Risotto: Way undercooked. Did the chef taste this before sending it off? Carrot Cake: It was humongous. Very dense but it tasted better the next day. Service was good. Overall, I didn't think quality of the food was great for the $$ we paid. read more

Really enjoyed this place! We sat on the patio because the weather was pretty nice. The patio was small and full, but everyone seemed respectful of each others space, so conversations were at a comfortable level. The server was quick, friendly, and helpful. We each ordered a mimosa with grapefruit instead of OJ, and they were really tasty. The ratio of bubbly to juice was spot on, and for the price, it felt worth it. The food was so good! I don't think I had any expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised with the portions to price ratio and just overall flavor. Presentation was immaculate. The smashed potatoes with my BLT&E were bangin. 10/10 would eat here again. read more

The food here was so fresh and delicious. It had a great indoor and outdoor space. I ordered the scallops, broccolini, and avocado fries. It was my first time tasting avocado fries. It will not be my last. They where so flavorful, crunchy, and seasoned very well. The scallop dish was so creamy and flavorful with the bacon and corn in the chowder. The scallops where very tender. The garlic broccolini was simple, but delicious. 4 stars due to the service. We arrived one hour before our reservation and waited at the bar. This was fine with us. We are from out of town, so had nowhere to go. The bartender was not friendly and was very cold. She literally just handed us a drink with no eye contact or acknowledgment. Not sure if she was busy, but she seemed very annoyed with us which didn't start our experiment off well. Even though we where on time we needed waiting an additional 20 min after our reservation time (they can't control if if ppl leave or not). We were asked did we want to sit at the bar. We didn't want to go back to the bar. We where finally seated and the service was nice and attentive. The food was amazing. I will be back. Hopefully next time with an updated review . read more
Love this (relatively) new restaurant in Sedona! Super clean and modern with yummies. I came here for brunch but I'd love to come here again for dinner, since their dinner menu is pretty different from brunch menu with more seafood dishes. I got to try fried onion rings, lemon ricotta pancakes, chicken and waffle, and breakfast burrito, I honestly liked em all. Waffle was super soft, crunchy, moist, it just instantly melt in my mouth as soon as I took a bite. And the lemon ricotta pancake was my fav, it was super creamy yet refreshing because of the lemon. It came with lemon butter. Yummmm ;-) There is a nice covered patio area, and it's pet friendly there, so I could bring my pup. Was so nice! read more

My wife and I had a very pleasant evening here. We had the crabcakes for an appetizer, then I ordered the SRF Ribeye steak and she had the chopped salad. The crabcakes were some of the best I've had in my life. The salad was flavorful and crispy, just to her liking and a good portion. Everything was spot on with the ribeye and mashed potatoes, robust and savory flavors, but the ribeye itself was only a half inch thick at most which is the reason for the four stars. Service was excellent and the Austin Cabernet wine was divine. I would definitely recommend this gem. read more

We had been to Shorebirds fairly soon after they opened and had brunch on their patio. This time we came for dinner and had a lovely evening. The interior tables are seated a nice distance apart. Bryan P was a great server despite having to cover tables in all spaces of the restaurant and it's nice there are others to keep up with filling water glasses & removing dirty dishes. We started with cocktails (Old Fashion, Smoked Blueberry Sour, Mezcal Blood Orange Margarita) and a Chopped Wedge Salad which were all very tasty. All of our entrees (Faroe Islands Salmon Mignon and Ciappino) were very good, but stealing the show was the Duroc Pork Chop for flavor, quality & quantity. Even though we were plenty full we opted to get the Espresso Martini and Prickly Pear Margarita. What an enjoyable evening. It was nice to be asked by the hostess on our way out if we enjoyed our evening. We felt very welcomed. read more
I started out with the crab cakes. These are probably the best I've ever had. How often has one ordered these only to be disappointed that they had too much filler and not enough crab? Not so here. You can see and taste the crab. I had the twice fried chicken wings. These were huge! Like chicken on steroids. The biggest I've ever seen. The menu states, " Five-spiced free-range chicken, sweet garlic crema, cilantro lime salt, green apple sticks, watermelon radish, pickled red Fresno chile, chipotle gastrique, mint & cilantro leaf". My friend and I came up to sedona for a nice time and made a reservation here. We came in with high hopes because of the reviews I heard and saw here on yelp. So we decided to go and dine at the Shore Bird restaurant and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant's reputation for exceptional cuisine and service, I was left incredibly disappointed. First and foremost, the service was exceptionally poor. Our waiter was unprofessional and dismissive, offering little guidance or assistance. I did not catch the waitresses name due to my being distraught from the whole experience. She was a middle aged women possibly 40-50 years old. To begin the experience she dropped off two empty glasses and a can of our drinks and left us to pour it ourselves. We decided to over look it since it was a small detail but i should've known from there on that worse was yet to come. We ordered oysters as our appetizer and I had 3 total and had to spit out a rock from each oyster. Going on my friend had ordered a grilled cheese and right when it was served we noticed it was not fully cooked through at all! You could pull the cheese apart from the bread and the tomato soup tasted like canned soup. It did not get any better for the entree, I had ordered a Filet Mignon and I ended up having to spit out several pieces of muscle from the 6 ounces of steak. When we expressed concerns about the temperature or quality of our food, she was dismissive and unapologetic. She had it dropped back off to the kitchen and the cooks decided to only fill up the bowl of soup and leave the grilled cheese as is. It was clear that the staff lacked the training and professionalism necessary to provide a top-notch dining experience. The food overall was a tragedy. Despite the high prices, the dishes were undercooked and lacking in flavor. It was difficult to justify the high price points when the quality of the food simply wasn't up to par. In addition, the portions were small and left us feeling unsatisfied and hungry. I usually like to see the positive in dining experiences, if it's not in the food or service I'd still appreciate the ambiance, but even that was lacking. It's not even the right establishment if you just go to take nice pictures. I would've spoken to a host or manager but I severely wanted to leave the establishment as soon as possible. Overall, I left Shore Bird feeling disappointed and frustrated. While I appreciate the restaurant's reputation and past successes, my experience was far from what I had hoped for. The poor service and subpar food left a sour taste in my mouth. It truly ruined our night. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to my worst enemy. read more

We planned a girls weekend and made reservations to have dinner at Shorebird one night. If you can't get a table at Mariposa, this is a great spot to come too. We arrived a little early for our reservation, it was a busy Friday night. The restaurant was smaller than expected. They had a a small bar towards the back that we sat at while our table was ready. The drinks were great and pretty. mocktails on point for sure. While we sat at the bar, we ordered the blueberry sour drink and I ordered their popular margarita. For dinner, Lupita was our waitress and she was great. We ordered quite a few items from the menu. Our eyes were bigger than our appetite but we didn't care. For the appetizers we ordered: avocado Fries. those were soo good it was like nice fluffy avocado just melting in your mouth. We continued ordering drinks from their drink menu, we were on the mission to try all their mocktails and were thirsty. lol The Golden Beet CARPACCIO was a nice portion for two and highly recommend it the goat cheese and the drizzle dressing over the nicely sliced beets were mouth watering. We ordered the following: Paloma, Prickly Pear Margarita, Old Fashion and the Espresso Martini. Towards the end of the night, we knew our two favorites were the Espresso Martini that tasted like your were having dessert and coffee all at once, it as the perfect alcohol and dessert combo. My friend had the old-fashioned and she also raved about how good it was. For the dinner portion, I told you we were hungry hehe. We ordered the Catalina Roll which was ok, the filget mignon which was nicely cooked and moist and the mushroom sauce was chefs kiss. My friend ordered the scallops and those just melted in your mouth the moment you took that bite. Overall, couldn't rave any more about this cute little restaurant tucked into a shopping center next to Run Sedona and another bar towards the end of the shopping center. The staff was very professional and nice. This is a must go to place if you are looking for a nice dinner while in Sedona. read more

This honestly has to be one of the nicest moderately priced places I've had the honor of experiencing. Our server was wonderful. She was patient, explained everything and we loved this place so much we went back for more during our stay! The food was made with flavorful fresh ingredients and it came out like art! Excellent food, excellent view, good service. Anniversary dinner early June after a hike to Devil's bridge. We were going to another spot, but it was closed, due equipment problems....we drove literally across the street to Shorebird. Best choice we made that evening. We started with avocado fries - ummm! Essentially tempura like battered avocado wedges with a green goddess dipping sauce...Killer. Top that off with a blood orange margarita and another margarita for my wife (forgot the name) -- very well prepared. I had braised short ribs over mashed potatoes with roasted carrots and an overeasy egg on top.....delicious! No matter how fancy the place, there's only so much you can do with short ribs when slow cooking them - you don't want them to be chewy. They were not and the gravy was killer. The roasted carrots perfect. Egg on top a treat. Wife had a pork chip that was thick and juicy and good. Also, brussell sprouts. Now she's not a fan of Brussel sprouts, but tried these - they were cut and mixed with apple, craisins or dried cherries or something and a reduction sauce - killer. All this with sweet potato (didn't get picture of hers.) Finally all this topped of with key lime pie......should have been called key lime heaven! Creamy, and tangy, and the crust - I don't know if it contained graham crackers, but they could have just served that for desert and we would have gobbled it up. This served with raspberry sorbet and whipped cream. Amway, well worth the price. Very impressed. They have two other locations - one in Newport Beach, I think. read more

This was a lovely evening! Delicious food, scallops juicy and plump, sea bass large portion cooked perfectly, Cioppino lots of fish, tasty broth but could use way more broth and should have red pepper flakes available. The raspberry sorbet was creamy and tart, the brownie sundae was warm and delicious with several yummy textures. Our server Ann's Belle was efficient and pleasant. All and all a perfect evening Just a side note the bathrooms could use more attention. read more
I'm always looking for new places to try, so I was happy to see Shorebird on Yelp. It is located where Oregano's used to be, and I think it's a much better use of the space. I was there for a late brunch, so my dishes were from the brunch menu, but there's not a lot missing from this menu that's not on the dinner menu. Overall, I would give the food 4 stars, the beverages 3 stars, the service 3 stars and the ambiance 3 stars. Food: the dishes were beautifully presented. Obviously, seafood is the focus of the menu, so the fact that the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles was a bit of a misfire is totally my fault for ordering it. The chicken was pretty dry. The seafood dishes, however, were very good, especially the raw items. Beverages: I'm hoping they just had a rookie behind the bar, because the drinks were pretty sloppy. In fact, a lot of one drink ended up on the floor as it was being walked over from the bar by one of the bar staff. We had to alert him to the fact that he might want to clean that up. Overall, unless you just want a glass of wine or a high volume, low price mimosa, I would skip the beverages at brunch. Service: as noted above with the bar server, service seemed a little off. All the staff were friendly enough, but not quite attentive to what kind of conversation was appropriate for front of the house. I overheard several conversations between service staff complaining about other staff or about particular tables. Service was also a bit nonchalant, which may have been because it was toward the end of brunch service. Everyone seemed kind of done with their shift and ready to go home. Ambiance: if you're on the patio with the nice views, the ambiance is great. Inside, it seems pretty generic. A little bit more upscale, but still very neutral. It would be nice to have some artwork or something that gives you a better sense of place. I would give Shorebird another try, perhaps at dinner, and I would focus on the seafood dishes. Hopefully they can really impress me next time. read more

KEYWORD : VIEWS! Shorebird has great views on the patio area. We enjoyed an early dinner here after hiking. Here is what we liked: 1. The swordfish sandwich (comes with fries). This was probably the best fish sandwich I have ever had! Texture was juicy , condiments on the sandwich were perfectly paired. 2. Cocktails were pretty decadent The egg rolls I felt were a bit overrated! The egg roll shell seemed a bit soggy and the pineapple and tuna combination left something to be desired. The tomato soup was not flavorful. This place is getting a 3.5 stars because of the excellent views and had a decent menu selection and the sword fish sandwich. read more

Shorebird is just south of the main round about in Sedona and delivers a good higher end experience of dinning with great food options. Good range of seafood, sushi and lighter eats with lots of drink options to enjoy. The environment is a swanky feel with an open air environment to enjoy the beautiful views of Sedona We wanted to have a few good lighter eating options and shorebird really delivered. We went with the lido roll, the golden beat salad and the oysters on the half shell. The oysters were fresh and gave you a few good sauces to add to the oysters like Tabasco, lemon, cocktail sauce and their own minognotte sauce. Very good dish! The lido roll was all around awesome. I appreciate the details like the real wasabi and the lightly seared salmon. It added so much to the roll! The golden beet salad was tasty and very light. Can't got wrong with the combo of the beets, arugula, strawberry and goat cheese! I do wish there was a bit more of a portion but still very tasty All around it's a great place to enjoy an awesome food experience. A little on the pricey side which is pretty standard of Sedona but still a great place off the standard touristy area read more

To describe my experience as simply disappointing would be my tongue demonstrating pronounced restraint. I went for the waffles. On the menu it clearly states VERMONT MAPLE SYRUP. I am a waffle connoisseur so I know when in fact the syrup is NOT Vermont Maple. Now let me be clear, I am a connoisseur, not a 10/10 waffle snob, so I don't NEED Vermont Maple, but what I do need is a 4 star restaurant to not serve me a 5 star waffle and then have it accompanied by a 1 star "light" Log Cabin store bought syrup. Yes, the syrup was very "transparent" in color and the fake sugar it contained (aspartame, Sucralose, saccharin, xylitol, etc) masked any delicious flavor this wonderful waffle originally had to offer. Okay reader, I know what you probably saying: "you're crazy and the syrup in fact was probably Vermont Maple and you likely just have Covid and lost your taste buds" ---- ah hah! I'm glad you said that. To confirm my suspicions I asked the waiter to bring the mini bottle of Vermont Maple (they usually come in miniature bottles). The response upon his return confirmed my doubts, "I'm sorry sir, we do not have any Vermont Maple." Sadly the waffle was not taken off of the bill and the unnecessary amount of empty carbohydrates consumed during the investigation could only be purged with the 2 hour walk that followed this disagreeable dining session. I'd like to bill this restaurant for actual damages (the waffle), punitive damages (the syrup), and PTO wages (the time it took to rid my body of the toxic glycogen spike catalyzed by the fraudulent syrup. ****The extra star on this review was awarded ONLY for the gentleman that broke the bad news to me. He was kind, a good soul, and I wish him a prosperous year in Sedona. Love that guy. Solid dude. read more

After a 4 hour hike we were ready for a good lunch. We stopped in at Shorebird restaurant to have a drink and some food! Great choice! We sat down about 1:30 pm so not to many people but I would expect that it get pretty packed for the evening. We had the best avocado fries! So cream with the sauce under them. The food was delicious. My scallops were prepared perfectly but it was the sauce that made it perfect. It needed to be served with bread or something else to soak up the left over sauce to enjoy it better. Presentation was good but to fill me up it should have had more potatoes or another scallop. (Drop the mussels). I almost did not order because I don't enjoy mussels. It is too pricey to be a regular on my eat out experience. Make a reservation for a window seat for great views. If you don't order an appetizer you just sit there waiting for your food. My wife had salmon and said it had it was good also with a good sauce. read more
