Somehow, some way, I've been here twice within the same week - I don't have karaoke addiction but my friend does... *cough* but I don't mind going since it's been great seeing songs that I normally don't see at other places like Plush. Yes, the place and the rooms are a little smaller than compared to its Irvine competition, but honestly, the sound system, music selection system, and overall effects here is really good. They offer both touch-screen and the old fashioned booklet way, but I haven't had any difficulty navigating or finding songs on the touch screen (which I notice that happens at Plush from time to time). If you can make it to their Happy Hour, it looks like it's really worth it! But even without HH, prices aren't too bad. $28/hr for a small room (1-4 ppl). We stayed a little less than 2 hours and it came out to be about $15 per person for a party of 3. However, if you want to sing the whole night, I think the price might be the same at Plush. Only downfall that I see so far here is that they don't serve alcohol, but if you're just itching to sing your heart out - intoxicated or not - check this place out! Though not the fanciest Karaoke place I've been to, they have all that you could ask for in terms of song catalogs. The room we were in was nice in that it had two systems set up - one touch screen monitor and the other type that I'm used to with the books that provide song numbers you punch in to a large remote. I'm assuming all their rooms have the same setup, but as this was our first time here, I can't say for sure. The offer large catalogs of songs in several different languages - English, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Japanese. The room we were in was perfect for our small group of three. Comfy sofa, small table for the song books and drinks, and light effects you can turn on or off. When you get your room, they provide you with microphone covers that look like tiny little shower caps made to fit the top of your microphones. This is both cute and hygienic (as a germophobe, I so appreciate this). It seemed like the touch screen setup had lots of newer released songs, and since we wanted to relive the 80's, we mainly sang songs selected from the books. They had a good selection of songs, and everyone in our group was able to find songs they wanted to sing. The hourly rate is based on the size of your room. Ours was the smallest type of room and our rate was $28 per hour on a Saturday night. Not bad at all considering the inflated rates in Los Angeles. Service was fine, but not overly friendly. Parking wasn't a problem as there is free parking in the front with another lot behind. Overall we had a great time singing 80's bops and power ballads. Would def return to get our karaoke on. read more

I was honestly not met with a very nice person. They were very rude in their manner and this was my first time here and I didn't feel very welcomed. Pretty fun karaoke spot with a lot of updated and new music. I like how they are open late, even on the weekdays! The rooms are pretty small although at times and depending on the amount of people in your group. There is no food or drinks here but they have a small bar right around the way! My friends and I came here on a Tuesday night (12/20) to celebrate the holidays together. We walked in not knowing outside drinks weren't allowed when we had hydroflasks filled w/ water. That's fine, but the man at the front (w/ glasses) gave us SO MUCH attitude for it. He said "그냥가세요," which means "just leave." We put our stuff in the car, but he continued to give us attitude by shaking his head & saying unprofessional things in Korean which made us feel so unwelcomed. I'm thankful we had people in our group that understood Korean because his words and demeanor were unacceptable. Literally ruined the night with his bad vibes. Our party of 10 decided to take our money elsewhere because Shout is undeserving. HE is undeserving. We will never come back and we will never recommend this place. This is the worst service I've ever received at a karaoke place. Beware. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I came here in a big group because we wanted to go to karaoke but we were told to get the fuck out by the worker. He told us this because we had hydro flasks and non alcoholic drinks and we asked if we could leave it with him at the front since we didnt drive here and we ubered. And he kept pointing at the sign that says no drinks allowed and was saying if we even speak english and if we could read the sign. Which we do and we said if we could then just leave it outside and he just continued to say get the fuck out. So we left, we'll never come back ever again. Which is sad because we've been coming here for the past 5-6 years whenever we wanted to go to karaoke. We all work in the industry and we know how things go so we tried being understanding and work with the worker but to be treated in such a way, is upsetting. Ohhhhh man. Norebang. What true Korean doesn't like being shoved in a room with a bunch of friends belting their hearts out to whatever sappy song you wish? I found shout after trying to find a local OC spot for NRB with my sister. I wanted to stay pretty local as I knew we would be drinking before and after our "performance". I opted for Shout bcus of the pricing. Honestly, I've been to Plush in Irvine and was always so shocked at the price. (To be entirely truthful, I'm just so used to Ktown prices at rooms being around $10-15.) We arrived at the location around 6 & was told that happy hour was on. Happy hour on a Sunday night? Score! The price was about 50% off during happy hour. Normally the rooms are around $32 for a small room (2-5 people). The disco lighting and the many different choices had us belting well over 2 hours. There are a couple things to note. 1. Trying to figure out the machine was a little difficult. Opt to have the worker show you. 2. Selection is vast but at the same time limited. There were many great throwback songs. ( BUT BRING BACK KC & JOJO! I needed All My Life on!) 3. Rooms are clean but aren't the plushies. For the price of about $55 for a little over two hours? Not bad. Not bad at all. Shout I'll be seeing you everytime I feel like I need to let my inner Mariah Carey out. Thanks! read more

Went over the weekend for my friends birthday party. They set us up with a room for 7 of us which was something like $50/h. First song we tried the system wouldn't work so I went asked them to fix which they did. then as we started our first song, the mics stopped working so went and asked for that to be fixed which they did. As we try to continue the song ,the system stopped working yet again. At this point we were fed up and decided to leave since we had been there for 20 mins and had not even finished a song. We told them the issues we were having and they demanded we pay for a full 30 minute minimum which was not disclosed to us before yet they insisted it was. Ended up paying for a service that was not provided. Definitely will not be coming back here again there's a far better spot a few blocks away that serves alcohol as well. read more

No wait and cheap during Happy hour! Song selection is also various too. Karaoke is half price from 2-7 PM, our group of 6 was only $18 per hour! We sang around 3 hours, only paying $9 each. I like how this Kareoke place has English/Korean/Japanese settings which you can switch on the monitor. English one is easy to navigate with a touch screen where you can type the song/artist name. However, the Korean/Japanese songs are hard to navigate since all the songs are coded by 6 digit numbers, and you have to flip through a large book to find the song/artist. I was also kinda bummed that Korean/Japanese songs don't have English subtitles when played. Difficult for non-natives to understand. The song selection for everything is great though, they have everything from oldies to fairly new ones. Overall I had a great time singing with my girlfriends! Will def recommend anyone who is looking for a Karaoke place within a affordable budget! read more

Such a cute little karaoke spot! I've never been to a place like this but I totally loved it. We came around 11:30 on a Saturday night. There were 3 of us and we got a small private room for $11/person. All the rooms are private for your party! They have bigger rooms in the back that come with extra perks but they're more expensive. The small room was perfect for us, and we could've comfortably fit a party of 6 I'd say. They have lots of songs but we mostly stuck to the American stuff. They did have a lot of variety but not every single song we wanted. Still, can't really complain! The sound system was great, and they have mic covers for the microphones too. Very clean. Can't wait to come back here again next time we feel like flexing our pipes! read more

My favorite karaoke place! I love going here with my friends because it is super cheap. There are usually 9 of us and we get a big, private room for an hour for only $45. With each of us only having to pay $5, it ends up being a really great deal & a cheap thing to do. The rooms are really clean and comfortable, the couches are comfortable, and there is something for everyone in the group to do because they have microphones and tambourines. Plus, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I do wish they told you when your time was up though-- because you have make sure you time it yourself so you don't go over your limit and have to pay more! My best friend and I love music and singing, but I mostly know Chinese songs and he Korean. It's been quite a struggle to find a place that could accommodate both, believe it or not! I found out about this place from a Chinese website, and for the price and selection, this is easily my favorite place so far in Socal! My friend and I were both able to select really new songs in both Chinese and Korean. Usually, a place has the newest Chinese songs but a limited Korean selection, or vice-versa. Not the case here! It does mean we have to juggle between two systems, but once we got the hang of it, the systems were easy enough to use. Definitely coming back here. read more

This place is a lot of fun! It's easy to miss (if u r on El Camino Real look for Bally Fitness micro strip mall then park anywhere) and the sign is in Korean (from the reviews here I assume that is Korean). They have different size rooms. I did not make the reservation so I do not know what the prices are, sorry. We rented the largest room, which fits a good 25 people, for 4 hours. They have various lists of songs in various languages, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and English. Each song has a number, when you decide what song you want to serenade your party with just punch it in. The remote is a very strange device, about 10x10 inches and built around 1993. I use UNIX all day but could not figure out the remote, someone else had to punch in the numbers. You can bring any snacks you want except soup. I don't know if they will let you in with beer. The worst and best part is that the visuals that accompany the song don't match the theme! Weird at first but then it becomes funny. One of the girls in our party could actually sing really well and she sang a really nice, slow Mandarin song...with some Chinese hip hop group dancing shown in the monitor. So that was disconcerting. Another guy sang "Anarchy in the UK" accompanied by some countryside visuals and a Chinese boy playing guitar for his girlfriend. Totally went with a song from a group called The Sex Pistols. Then two girls sang Hey Jude with visuals of sexy girls in Lycra running around a track, surely what John and Paul had in mind when they wrote the song. That was actually pretty funny. So if you know some people that can sing this place is a lot of fun with the caveat that the system is a little dated and the disconnect between the songs and the visuals. read more

This has been my go-to place for karaoke since summertime. (June 2010) My best friend Dalia chose this place since it's close to 1) Hondaya, her favorite Japanese restaurant to crash, 2) It's close to her house, 3) They're a little bit cheaper than PLUSH Karaoke. It's Korean owned. The lady running the place is sweet. Recently on my last visit (Monday October 11th, for my birthday!!!) my friend and I noticed they changed their decor. It's very Grecian with lots of marble and columns. They also moved the beverage station to the back in the corner, down the hallway to the restrooms, and place all their wigs and accessories in a nice glass case, that's been built into the wall. There's a variety of music to choose from. Although the most recent AMERICAN hits from the past 3 months are in the back of the book, hidden between the japanese, vietnamese, and korean popular songs. ***Disclaimer: This place tends to smell like cigarette smoke, so beware. And whatever refresher she tries to use to cover it up, makes it smell worse sometimes. lol. Also, I LOVE the randomness of their videokis. The songs do NOT match the videos what so ever. And there's some crazy stuff going on those animated videos. Like whoa! I was singing a song about love when all of sudden it pans to some animated girl getting raped. What the HELL? And why do all the guys die some ridiculously cheesy death? lol. I've been here many times before and I could say that this place is not the GREATEST but it's pretty decent. Their music choice compared to other karaoke places, such as PLUSH in Irvine, is not that great. Also, I could see that they somewhat changed the place for they are not called J J Music Studio. They changed their karaoke room name. And they cleaned the rooms with newer music books. They also changed their microphones but they are not as great for you have to sing loud because the mics are not that strong. And the prices somewhat changed for open times to 7 pm are happy hours with 50% off. But after 7 pm, you will have to pay full price for a specific room. For me, I do not go to karaoke after 7 pm so it's cool for me. But I would recommend this place since it's cheaper than the other karaoke places around that area. read more

The rooms are clean, the song selection is decent (they even have songs in Tagalog) and the sound quality is good. My fiance and I also have never had to wait very long for a room, even when we came here on NYE. Incredibly rude. The second we walked in the door the owner(? guy at the front desk, older man with glasses and thinning black hair) had nothing but snark for us. We made a reservation and forgot that there weren't any drinks allowed and instead of reminding us like a normal person, he decided to yell at and berate us. "I TOLD YOU no drinks" and we forgot because were human, you can be kinder, especially if we are paying you and being cooperative and polite and in no way inviting or inciting any sort of conflict. We had a technical issue with the volume part way through and asked him for assistance, and when he came in and fixed it, he yelled again "what are you talking about, it works" and pointed at the tablet and yelled "LOOK" at the girl who was only trying to ask for help to hear the music on her birthday. Experience was super fun other than that, but this place will not be getting any more business from any of us. That attitude was entirely unnecessary and completely uncalled for. Also it's so weird that food is allowed but outside drinks are not, including water. We weren't even allowed to bring cups in. I would understand if it were a safety hazard, but if the drinks aren't tampered with and are completely sealed and non alcoholic I don't see the issue. As a long time customer of Shout the only thing I can say is that it keeps going downhill. I remember going here in 2009 and it was cheap , clean, and fun. Now? Ok first off their karaoke machines are way out of sync with the lyrics on screen. Their music catalog is out of date, and it seems grungy. Now I might be able to live with this if the prices were cheaper and most importantly if they would fix their plumbing issues. It smells like a big poo mess if you aren't in the front two rooms. Its been like this now for over a year. Also no I'm not tipping a dude for just turning on microphones and not even saying enjoy your evening when we leave or thank you. So rude. They don't serve food or drink here. You shouldn't be asking for tips when you just sit at the front looking at your phone while you passively make 30 per hour per room. read more
