Daughter took 2011 CRV in due to A/C working intermittently. Showcase tech diagnosed "faulty A/C compressor" (Of course....). Daughter paid over $2000 to fix it. On day she picked-up the car, the A/C worked great for a bit, but on the ride home once again stopped working, just as it had been intermittently working on & off, prior. I went back with her immediately to address it not working again. Was late on a Friday afternoon, and we left it with Josh and Austin (Service Advisors....). They said they would get it back in early Saturday for recheck. On Saturday afternoon, Austin called back and said that the tech had found a "loose connector/wire", and when tightened, fixed the problem and A/C was now working again. SO IF THE LOOSE WIRE WAS THE PROBLEM WITH INTERMITTENT OPERATION OF THE A/C, WHY DIDN'T THEY FIND THAT OUT WITH THE ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS INSTEAD OF CHARGING MY DAUGHTER 2 GRAND FOR A NEW COMPRESSOR?!?!?!? (The answer is obvious!) LAME!!!!! Daughter is a hard working college student, and scrimped & saved to buy the car. She had to dip into precious savings to fix it! SO BAD!! I bought my Honda new from Showcase. I needed to get my 30,000 mile service done. Made appt but found this dealership only interested to see how much they could charge me. The service writer was not interested to save me money for this expensive service. I decided to call another Honda dealer and was offered a fantastic price for this service. Less than half of Showcase prices for more items done. I called Showcase service Director to tell of my experience with my bad experiences there. He offered to match other dealers prices. All the prices he quoted were still far above other dealer. Went next morning to other dealer. Car was done in two hours as stated to me by service writer washed also. Stupidly gave them a chance. Was given the opportunity to purchase a used vehicle with high mileage at almost $6k above asking price because of a warranty. They couldn't even get me approved at the signed for 10% because their add-ons put my loan to value through the roof. They eventually came back about around 20%. My credit isn't great, but that's far from worth it. I ended up getting a decent rate with Carvana and I wouldn't consider any of these dealerships again. read more

My first interaction was with Aaron McDonald, Internet Sales Manager. We exchanged a few texts and I agreed to head down that same afternoon (Monday, May 3rd). Upon arrival, I asked for Aaron McDonald, and was instead handed off to Aaron Ramirez, one of their salespeople. Aaron Ramirez was wonderful to work with - very personable, friendly and proactive. I would give him a 10/10. Unfortunately, as soon as I was handed off to finance, my experience changed. My assigned finance manager was Antonio, and things started off okay. He complained a bit about being new to the dealership and not having the application logins he needed for his job, and being frustrated about it. Understandable. Then it came time for the upsell on the extended warranty and gap coverage. I declined as politely as I could, but Antonio continued with his pressure tactics, ultimately making some comments that made me feel judged for the financial decision I was making. I understand you have to upsell - but this was not the way to do it. Not your business. After we got past that and started signing the forms, I observed that most of the printing was off alignment by more than a few lines, making it almost impossible to see which numbers and ticked boxes belonged where. I made a comment about it, and Antonio said "don't worry about it, you'll have to come by and re-sign anyway." I asked what he meant, and he stated that I wasn't approved yet, so the documents would need to be revised when they nailed down a lender. While I understand that it was 9PM at this point (I had been there since 5PM), and that loan approvals don't come through afterhours from most lenders - again, this was not the way to handle this. No offer to reprint or revise the documentation. No apology, nothing. After I had finished signing, Antonio said "Okay - you're all set. Your salesman will meet you outside with your keys." I had to ASK Antonio for a copy of the paperwork I had just signed. To which he responded "Oh! Okay, sure." I left that evening in the new car, but realized on the way home that they did not even collect my down payment. I spent all of Tuesday waiting to hear from the finance department regarding the status of my loan. After not hearing anything by early afternoon, I sent my salesperson Aaron a text - after which he promptly called me and said he would reach out to Antonio and ask him to give me a call. Didn't hear anything for the rest of the day. Wednesday - again, went most of the day without hearing a peep from Finance. Sent Aaron another text, which he was kind enough to respond to on his day off. He said he would try again. FINALLY, around 2PM, I decided to call the dealer and ask for Antonio myself. The person who answered the phone took down my information and said Antonio would call me. Which he did around 4:30PM. He stated that the loan was approved, no problem, and none of the terms had changed - but I needed to come down and sign a corrected bill of sale because they had the wrong VIN number for my trade. I said I would be there between 5 and 5:15 - he said great, and we ended the call. Upon arrival at 5PM, before I could make my way to the reception desk inside the building, I was apprehended by a salesperson, who said he would go find Antonio and that I should have a seat. He came back and said that Antonio was with a customer, but would be with me shortly and if not, that the Finance Director would come get me. I waited an hour and a half - with no check in, no assistance, nothing. Antonio walked by me multiple times to grab customers that had arrived after I did. Eventually, I went and spoke with the receptionist (Tina, I think?), and she was very apologetic. Anyway - he came over to me almost immediately afterward, and had me sign the new bill of sale for my trade. He once again said "Okay, you're good to go" after which I reminded him that I still hadn't made my down payment. He took my payment, and then again said I was good to go. Again, I had to ASK for a copy of the papers I had just signed (bill of sale, odometer disclosure, etc.). He said "Oh, I don't give those to people normally." I asked for a copy again, and annoyed, he went and made one. After that, he shook my hand and sent me on my way. In the car, ready to leave, the receptionist called me and asked if I'd like a fuel voucher for my inconvenience. I went back inside where she lead me to the Sales Manager, Roscoe Gist. He asked me how my day was going - frustrated at this point, I said that I'd had a long day and wanted to go home. Rudely, he said "yeah, we all do." He gave me a $25 fuel voucher. Joy. I never did get reprinted finance docs. But, it's over. Aaron Ramirez - if you're reading this, hang in there. You did a phenomenal job and I know it's not easy. You're better than this place. I will do my best to steer friends and family away from any of the VTG/BHA dealers in the future. read more

Update: The check they told us was cut on January 19th was not even mailed out until February 16th and when it was cashed it bounced which means it will take another month to get the check. I bought my car on December 7th and we are now almost at March and the issue still has not been resolved. After all this they even sent me an email asking me to refer people to them. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! Pick another Honda dealership, showcase has the WORST customer service. The only reason that they are even getting one star from me is because I have to give it. I went down there in December to go look at a Honda CR-V. I was in with the finance guy and because I declined to get the extended warranty he called me stupid. The sales guy who I was working with informed him that he needed to try and speed things up because I had to get to work. He then proceeded to stop several times to watch the football game on his computer and answer FaceTime calls from his daughter. They also charged extra for the new tint that they put on the windows that is already peeling and I have barely driven the car. Not only that but after I traded in my car it took them two weeks to pay the loan off so we had to make another payment. When we asked when we would be getting this money back they gave us a run around for two months before telling us the bank owed us the money. We then called the bank and the bank had to send us a photo copy of the check that Showcase sent them (which was for almost 250 dollars less than the contracted amount). When confronted they changed their story that a check had already been cut on the 19th, when they told us at the end of last week that the bank owed us the money. After two months they are finally sending us a check. I know this is lengthy but I want be to be aware of what they are getting themselves into. I would not recommend this dealership at all, they are very shady and trying to scam you out of your money. read more

Took my car in for service. Received a call asking if I would sell it. For the right price I said. Tons of negotiation over the phone. Few weeks pass. Agree on a price. Told to bring it in so they can see it again. Show me some paperwork and make me a different offer than agreed upon. Ask for keys price goes up $500. Van Tuyl garbage! Insulting bait and switch tactics and they'll insult you when you push back on their B.S. Had a deal "agreed" upon for a week but they refused to give me an OTD number without coming in. I explained that we just had our third baby and I couldn't take the time out to make this an all day ordeal - tell me yes or no on the deal and I'll come buy the car if it's a yes. Shouldn't car buying be that easy this day in age??? Natalie tells me yes and just to come in to get the deal. My Spidey Sense starts to tingle as it sounds like she so easily confirmed that we had a deal on what I knew was an aggressive price. When I explained how I've had awful experiences with Showcase Honda (and with any dealer under Van Tuyl umbrella of unethical business practices) where they say we have a deal over the phone, text, or email and then change it by $3-4K after I get there. Natalie, Mike, and anyone else I spoke to reassured me that would not happen to me again and I needed to trust them and just come in to get this "amazing" deal. Needless to say, I fell for the trap and took the time to drive down there for the "10-15 minutes" it would take to formally appraise my car - "the manager has to touch it before giving any numbers at all." Their websites Value My Trade tool told me my car was worth $26k and that's all I was wanting them to give me for it. Over an hour goes by and I finally get the number and my trade is now valued at only $23k without any reason. Even the sales rep told me multiple times that our deal should be good to go as he was amazed at the condition of my SUV. Not a scratch, just detailed, clean Carfax, dealer maintenance records, and new tires. Simply put, they gave me a competitive price on their car by lowballing my trade by $3000 vs anyone else and even what their own tool quoted me before coming down. They literally insulted me and told me I was being difficult when expressing my concerns about coming down without them giving me an OTD before doing so only to prove me right all along. Oh, I've also included a screenshot text from the sales rep who told me we had a deal multiple times before I came down...oh and don't believe the Berkshire Hathaway ownership title they'll through at you. Yeah, they were bought out but the Van Tuyl culture is still going strong. I bet there's a special place in hell for that guy as he's made millions off of unethical business practices that prey on those who don't know how to work a car deal without signing their life away. Go to Tempe Honda, Right Honda, or even Arrowhead if you want to be treated with some dignity, respect, and level of human kindness that you'd expect from a business that understands there's so much more to a customer relationship than the one transaction today. read more

Few months ago took my car there, told them it was shaking.. they said it was roters ( that's it)... Ok paid to fix them and replace brakes. ( they took tires off rotated them) Car back to me still doing it but less. Few weeks later.. still doing it increasing more again over time . Car back to them- was told it's my axels and tires. I say.. okay, are the axels covered under warrenty - they say NO. I say..okay, let me check with Discount tire.. Discount tire says ..it was the TIRES the whole time and becuase they were taken off and rotated it just decreased. UGH. ( So, not the roters and brakes was the tires at first) Saftey hazzard! Check paperwork.. Axels are still covered under warrenty. Advise honda of the fact... they say ok " our bad" and replace the axels and I paid for new tires. This simply should not be happening. After the first issues when I bought the car.. now this. Simply inexcusable. Will be filing a new BBB to let people know about them constantly lying to people and scam artist. I was in Arizona visiting and my family and they had run into car problems. We decided to stop by to just browse some options if we needed to buy. We were quickly greeted by Jonathan. He was really great from beginning to end. We let him know from the beginning what was going on and we were just browsing. He never made us feel pressured nor rushed. Buying a car is definitely stressful and you get those pushy people at car dealerships but not with him and we were thankful for that. Jonathan showed us a couple cars and explained the features and costs. We went inside where we were offered water and met a couple of the managers as we spoke numbers. Everyone was super nice and understanding. The inside was very clean and well maintained. We did not buy a car at that time. After a small bad encounter, Sean contacted me and was super understanding of how I felt, and was truly interested in making it right. After offering me to come back and letting them take of my car services, I said why not. Today I went back and they took care of my car services, their customer services was amazing and at the end Sean came and talked with me. He was genuinely concerned and asked if I had any questions. I don't write very many reviews, but I've received consistently helpful and friendly service from most everyone who I have dealt with in the service department at Showcase. I work with Mike Connor, who has been great to me and my Civic, and he's accurate about wait times, estimates and overall work so that I know what to expect. I've been hesitant as a car owner to get my service work done at a dealership (we all know what to expect), but I can say that I don't have any hesitations coming to Mike and Showcase. They have a free Uber service if your car will take a while, and the lobby is pleasant enough with free snacks, popcorn and water. Nice job, Showcase, and other dealership services department could certainly take page from your playbook. read more

We purchased a Certified Pre-Owned Honda Odyssey here. The first day we owned it the weatherstripping on the windshield came flying off and was smacking the roof as we drove. The center brake light was out also. Showcase Honda agreed to fix these things. The fourth day we owned it, it didn't start. The battery had died, but more concerning, the alternator was bad and had to be replaced. We paid a $960 fee for a "certified" pre-owned vehicle. The battery and alternator should have been checked in the CPO process. Honda records indicated this particular car had a history of battery/charging problems. Clearly, their CPO inspection was incomplete and lacking. They replaced the alternator and battery for us, but this was our third trip back to the dealer. We wanted a partial or full refund on the certified pre-owned premium for the obviously shoddy inspection and the hours we took off work to take this supposedly "certified" car in for repairs within 5 days of purchase. We were bounced around from one manager to another over the course of three hours. They offered us a tank of gas. At this point, we asked for a copy of the certification inspection. We found out it should have been provided during purchase. It was not. When they finally provided it to us, we saw they had forged my husband's signature acknowledging receipt of the document. The finance director insisted it was accidental, but they offered to buy the van back from us and cancel the whole deal. We gladly accepted. Use caution buying here. read more

Absolute slime balls the salesmen (Victor) that I worked with was amazing, however management here are scammers! First they come to me with an offer that I was ready to walk out with a new car! Then they left for a good 15 minutes when they came back all of a sudden my payment was $3,000 more...I asked them to take the dealership add one off and they said okay! They came back and now my payment was another $1500 more on top of the $3,000. Then they said they test drove my truck that I was planning on trading in and said the air bag light that was on was the reason for all this. I asked them to try to give me some wiggle room and they told me they would make some calls. As they were "making calls" I watched them from the window sit with other salesmen and laugh. I went out to my truck while I waited and switched a fuse on the panel fixing the air bag issue. Major problem my ass! read more

Three weeks later, we had to replace two and yesterday, I just bought 4 new ones because one of the replacements had a tire stuck in it and couldn't be fixed, the other ones that weren't replaced originally were so bad, the tire place wouldn't let me leave with them still on the car. Bought my Honda CR-V from here back in 2006.and haven't regretted it. Showcase service and personnel top notch with amenities such as free shuttle service, which helps compensate at least a little for comparatively high dealer costs on major maintenance and repairs. There's obviously a high overhead to maintaining a facility of this size with all the equipment, tools, parts, and specialized personnel, but if you believe in and can afford to get it done right the first time, paying the price may be worth it if you haven't found a reliable mechanic elsewhere. I remain satisfied with my purchase experience and all service that I have had performed here, though have just plain not been able to afford the high dealer cost on a number of occasions. I would like to start by saying this is a review of their service department, not their sales department. I have never set foot into the showroom. I bought my car when I was living in another state and have it serviced at Showcase Honda. I have had about 3 or 4 services since moving to Phoenix. I like that you can make your appointment online, they process you quickly, have a great waiting area, and return your car to you clean and shiny. The service advisor keeps you appraised of what the situation is and they give you a print out of your car's status. OK for the part I do not like. I have talked to more then one service advisor at Showcase Honda and the first thing they do is say "Honda recommends this service for the mileage of your vehicle, then they show you a laminated price sheet". I reply I would like the "A1 Honda recommended service as called out on the dash". They then back off and become helpful again. The difference can be $100's of dollars. There are many reasons why one would make a decision to buy a Honda, one of those reasons is the small amount of maintenance typically required on these great cars. Most of the time the maintenance is an oil change and tire rotation. Know your car. read more

I had such a great experience buying a car from Showcase Honda. Showcase wasn't on my list but when I signed up on Truecar.com, they sent my info to dealers where has a car I wanted. ( I didn't know truecar sent my info to dealer!) I was mad initially when showcase reached out to me but I liked sales rep for some reason! She promised me to give me a killer deal. Two other dealers reached out to me too. One gave me a great deal but I didn't tell her about the deal. It's just not fair to tell her what deal I got from other dealer. I purchased a used vehicle from Showcase. The bluetooth microphone hasn't worked since I purchased the car earlier this month. (Within 30 days of purchase) They refused to take care of the cost of the part and the 30 minutes of labor required to replace it. (All of $300) The used car manager said if it was something major on the vechile they would have considered it but because it's a minor repair they won't. Additionally, I was sold this vehicle without the key to the lock on the rear hitch, making the hitch completely useless and another trip to a dealership to have them cut the lock off. Seems like taking care of something minor to keep a happy customer would have been valuable but apparently not. Don't buy your car here! read more

Showed up to have ray ignore my calls and a sales person ask me to pick a car I liked even tho I had spoke to ray prior about what vehicle I wanted! ******FRAUD ALERT ******* I do not use the word fraud lightly. If you have leased a Honda and bought out your lease at the dealership, you should check if you were scammed out of thousands of dollars. How it happens: I was nearing the end of my lease and went in to see new vehicles while I was there for a routine maintenance. My car model hadn't changed so I told the salesguy I would probably just write a check and buy out my vehicle. He said he could help with that and asked me if I was willing to do it when I picked up my vehicle from service. I said okay and returned later in the day. I knew what my payoff was from Honda. It was 29k. They came out with paperwork for 33k and said taxes, dealer adds and doc fees. I told them I do not want to pay any adds or doc fees to buy my own vehicle, but I figure everyone has to pay taxes. While the salesman was "negotiating" to get the adds off, I called Honda Financial to see if taxes were included in my 29k payoff. They said YES, it is included and if I write them a 29k check, I will get a deed in the mail with a bill of sale that shows exactly how much of the 29k were taxes.  The breakdown was approximately 29k payoff ( $26,700 principal, $2,300 taxes).  They tried to charge me $33,000 ($29,000 principal, $2500 tax, $1000 adds).  Instead of allowing me to buy out my lease, they were SELLING me my own vehicle at a profit to themselves.  Ironically, my wife had left in the Honda after the maintenance so they were literally "selling" me the vehicle at home in my garage. So in conclusion:  My buyout was $29,000 plus about $400 in registration but they attempted to sell me my own vehicle for $33,000 to make a $3,600 profit for themselves.  It's easy to fall for it because it seems logical to pay taxes and the Honda statement does not indicate that the payoff includes taxes.  These guys have zero integrity and I'll bet there's a long list of their own customers they have scammed.
