Bruno came out to our business storage unit to shred all our boxes onsite. He was right on time and was very helpful with the loading process of all the boxes. We had twice as many boxes than we thought, and he was very accommodating to the process. He went out of his way to help my husband beyond what he had to do. We've never shredded any of our business records, So when our boxes suddenly threaten to bust through the door of our storage unit, it was time to call someone! Shred Works was our answer. From the first call I made to Nica, who was so professional, reassuring, explaining thoroughly the process of shredding & certification, I knew Shred Works was the perfect company for our shredding project! We brought all our boxes home from our storage unit. Pablo the driver of that big ole Shred Works truck pulled up into our driveway exactly when Nica said he would. Pablo explained & showed me how the shredder truck worked, he took all our records out of the 77 boxes and in a matter of 1/2 hour or so everything was destroyed! Immediately after destruction, I received an email confirmation from Shred Works certifying that all of the 77 boxes were destroyed. It was a Awesome experience & really reasonable in price. I highly recommend Shred Works & I love the fact that they came to our home to shred. Thank you Nica and Pablo for your excellent customer service!! Extremely RUDE driver that assisted us!! I used shred works a couple of times in the past with different companies ive worked with and the office staff is always so nice and sweet and willing to go that extra mile but the driver that assisted us was just ridiculous! Ive never experienced such poor customer service in my LIFE! The driver arrived 2min before i did because i was going to meet him at the job site along with another colleague of mine, when i arrived this driver was completely blocking me to get in and i kindly asked him to move his truck and he said no he is parked there for now and i should of gotten there earlier if i didnt want him to block me. Im pretty sure he didnt realize that i was the customer. We literally went back and forth arguing and Him representing shred works should have not continued to argue back! I called the office to explain what was going on and as i was talking to his manager he continued to argue with me, im pretty sure the manager heard him arguing back while i was on the phone! After he called my colleague to tell him he was outside ready to pick up our boxes he then realized i was a customer too and then tried to apologize. After the service he asked my colleague to call the office and say that he did a great job so that he doesnt get in trouble! Thats pathetic!!! Why would you be so rude and then apologize and ask us to call the office and say you were great? I will most likely use shred works again because their prices are very reasonable but i will definitely ask to NEVER have this driver service me again! read more

I called in for information and Angie took my call, she asked where I was located and she was able to advise me of all the drop off centers near me. She also offered coming down to the Oakland location where I can witness the shredding live or on the monitors and recycle any old electronics for free. She explained pricing for witnessing live, on the monitor and the drop off center in Walnut creek. So I mentioned I rather come to Oakland if it's about the same pricing for Oakland and walnut creek. I called the next day just to make sure they were open and Angie answered. I mentioned I spoke to her the day before about pricing and surprisingly she remembered me (most reps don't remember the people they speak to so 2 thumbs up on that), I advised I was new on yelp and was having issues purchasing the yelp deal and she advised me not to worry she can honor it when I come in and just to be sure I don't experience any issues to just mention her name when I arrive. A gentleman helped me with my items out of my car, he took me to the shredder and everything was gone in a matter of seconds. He then walked me with Angie so she can honor the deal. I will definitely be returning to shred works and thank you Angie and the gentle who assisted me! Both of you were extremely professional! It was worth the drive in the rain to come see you guys... I found out our company was closing and we needed to shred 10 years worth of records. I was receiving quotes from many shredding companies when I saw a Shred Works truck on our street. I stopped the driver Roberto and asked him about Shred Works. He gave me his business card and told when they when the truck was in San Mateo and to call the office for the different services they offered and pricing. I called the main office and spoke with a wonderful customer service person. After talking about their different types of shredding programs, our business decided on the drop off bins with pick up in a week. Roberto dropped off our bins right at 9am and unlocked them for me after seeing the boxes I had already collected which made dumping the boxes so much easier. I needed an additional 2 days from our 1st pick up and the customer service person was very understanding and gave us until Friday for our pick up. Roberto came to pick up in the middle of our loading our last container to be shipped out, he took care of getting all the bins into the truck and payment while I was handling many last minute details of closing a company. Not once did Roberto get frustrated with me. Roberto was very understanding and calm. I highly recommend Shred Works! If you are in San Mateo I hope you get Roberto, he is wonderful to work with! read more

I would give this company more stars if I could! My husband worked out of a home office for many years. By the time we retired, moved to L.A. and rented out our SF house, we had accumulated many banker's boxes of job files. We called Shred Works to set up an appointment, guessing that we had about 20 boxes. We drove up the night before shred day and pulled them all out--it wound up being almost 60 boxes total! Since we made the on-site shredding appt. a week before and had driven 400 miles for this event, we were really hoping that Shred Works would accommodate us. They were totally great about it, and the driver, Pablo, was amazing! Cheerful, professional, and he absolutely refused our cash tip of $40. From start to finish a great experience and I cannot recommend this company enough. Kudos also to the receptionist and sales rep Jim for all their help and assurances.
