Went to the Shrimp Factory and honestly had a great experience! For a Thursday night it wasn't busy at all, which was a plus because they let us sit anywhere we wanted. The menu caught our eye right away a lot of the seafood was market price, which I usually only see for higher-end seafood, but here it was listed for just about everything except the fried options. We debated trying some of the fresh non-fried seafood but decided to keep it classic with the fried catfish and shrimp baskets with fries. The service was excellent our server was super welcoming, almost like we had known her already, and she took great care of us. Love when a place has that kind of energy. The food came out piping hot (big win ) and everything was delicious. Crispy, seasoned just right, and definitely hit the spot. The vibe of the restaurant has that typical "boiling seafood spot" feel with a bit of a boat-themed interior, plenty of TVs, and even a projector screen so you can catch all the games while you eat. Next time, I'm definitely diving into the mussels and fresh shrimp because those looked tempting. I have never been to a more aggressive restaurant in my life! lol So, when I arrived, the restaurant was practically empty, except for two individuals that I noticed after I ordered, one walked behind the counter, the other followed briefly then walked past me, greeting me, I think she walked outside, then returned behind the counter. She was wearing a shirt that read, "Chef," not very significant, but again, I share MY entire experience. I walk to the counter, the young lady asked me, "What do you want," yes, just like that. I asked her to give me a minute because I had never eaten from there before. After about 30-40 seconds, I asked if I could get the Shrimp without the fries, she said, "Sure, but money the same, no discount." I said, "Okay," (thinking to myself $14 for a 10 piece, no big deal. She then said, "Do you want lemon pepper fries?" I said, "No fries." She said, "We have different fries." I said, (wanting to get over the fry conversation, "Ok, I'll just take the plain fries." She said, "Fries no seasoning because you don't want to pay more money right." :/ I looked at her and said, "Sure." She finally said, "okay," then gave me my total and said, "You want to pay now?" I said, "Yes," and I handed her my cash. She then said, "You want sauce, you get only one." I said, "Sure, I'll take tarter for the shrimp if you have it." She replied, "Okay, you want ketchup?," I said, "Sure, I'll take ketchup." She then said, "Ten minutes, you can sit down." I headed over to take a seat by the window, literally to take my pics. The boss say to me, 'why you have the customer standing, and I say I told her to sit down, (giving me hand motions), you get me in trouble. They have TV screens everywhere and they were playing the Dodger game...a plus! The server greeted us quickly and got is seated right away. There were plenty of tables available. I ordered for pickup and when I arrived, the parking lot smelled amazing! I was anxious to try my food as a result. The place was completely empty when I walked in. That was surprising to me on a Friday afternoon at lunchtime. I was greeted upon entering and informed the young lady I had a pickup order. She didn't confirm my name or order but said it was almost ready. So...mine must have been the only order? The place is bright and spacious with lots of booths and tables available for dining in. Television screens are playing throughout the place and were streaming sports while I was there. I appreciated they appeared to keep remnants of the fish tank from the sushi place that used to be in this location, as I used to frequent that sushi place a lot back in the day! When I got home, I opened everything up and was immediately disappointed. The description online said "head on shrimp" and these were definitely not. In fact, after tasting them, I believe they were old and/or previously frozen. The mussels tasted old as well. And the crab was so overcooked it was dry and practically non-existent in the shell. The corn was also dry and flavorless. Actually, for having selected the "house medley" seasoning, I'm surprised at how flavorless everything was. He's frequently on his phone and appears more interested in that than doing his job, leading to excessive wait times and poor customer care. I've experienced this three separate times, so this is clearly not an isolated issue. It reflects poorly on the restaurant that this behavior is allowed to continue. I decided to open the containers because I noticed that they put fried food in a sealed container and I was nervous that they would be . Thankfully, I did this because the calamari is already ruined. The food was great and our server Carlos was amazing! However, the manager and another server Anthony kept yelling at Carlos in front of us. We felt really bad and it was a bit uncomfortable. We've been here many times and we know management is not the greatest, but we were sad to see them treating their own worker (Carlos) like that in front of us and can't imagine how they treat him behind doors. It's dehumanizing. Another time I saw the manager walking out of the restaurant with a bucket of water and towels and proceeded to wash her white car.
