My first time eating at this restaurant. I've heard good things about Siam Bistro... so I decided to swing by after work for some sushi. I decided to try the Chef's Wonton Soup. The soup came out hot and loaded with flavor. The cilantro was laid on a bit thick, but it was good nonetheless. For my main dish I decided on the Hawaiian sushi roll (coconut shrimp, mango and avocado topped with strawberries and Wasabi Aioli). This sushi roll was delicious! This is only the second time I've been here (after many years)and I was pleased with this evening's dinner! We came here mainly for the Pho and they didn't disappoint. They don't normally serve Pho but it's a winter menu special. The soup was delicious- with just the right amount of spices, and a generous portion of beef and noodles. It's great to know that there's a restaurant that's close to our house that serves very good Pho so we don't have to drive all the way across town. I'd say that for a Thai restaurant, their Pho can compete with those served at the Vietnamese restaurants in town. I also enjoyed the massaman chicken curry. The curry flavor notes were balanced and had the right level of heat(mild as I ordered). The chicken, carrots and potato portions were generous! The potatoes had their skin on and a bit too brown for my taste but it didn't take away from the flavors. I'll visit a bit more often now that I know they have great food. Very nice restaurant, low lighting, not very busy. Our waitress was very knowledgable and explained all the dishes, including which ones were her favorite. We had the fried greens tomatoes with crab vs crawfish and the Tallahassee sushi. Both were very delicious. The fried green tomatoes are not your typical fgt. You just have to try them for yourself. I am on a business trip in Tallahassee and stopped in for lunch today. I ordered summer roll appetizer and a lunch portion spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna came first ( I didn't care, but I did order an appetizer). The first piece was cold, very cold. The second was when I realized the tuna was still frozen. I then put my finger into the next three pieces: all frozen. The waiter apologize, made poor excuses and told me it wasn't frozen ( he didn't touch or taste it), brought me my appetizer, about 5 to 7 minutes later, which incidentally was absolutely delicious. And still only giving two stars for making and serving frozen tuna sushi ( nothing spicy about the spicy tuna either) , and for giving me bad excuses for frozen lunch. This is probably one of the worst Thai places I have ever been to... I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and two orders of pad Thai (one for me and the bf). The shrimp tempura roll is one of the most basic rolls I have ever had. I've had many shrimp tempura rolls that were amazing, and this one was very mediocre. Moving on to the pad Thai... I was very disappointed with the pad Thai. I love Siam sushi so I thought the bistro would have the same quality of food. Boy was I wrong. The pad Thai (both of them) are literally burned. I guess because I ordered take out the chef didn't think it would matter. I noticed when I took the boxes to my car something smelled funky. I will NEVER go to this place again. This place has the best thai food in town. It is reasonably priced especially if you go for lunch. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is great. I have eaten here more times than I can count and the only negative I can find is the "lotion" candle they keep by the register. It's actually just wax. Don't let them fool you. I go to this restaurant for dinner regularly and have seen the comings and going's of different waiters and waitresses. The current waiter staff crew is pretty good, very friendly. Food is always, as expected, consistently pretty good. The bathroom is clean. The ambience of the restaurant is quiet and pleasant, good place to have dinner with the family. read more

Very bad take out experience from Siam tonight. This is disappointing because it is one of our favorites. Our call in order was promised in 20-25 minutes. We waited over an hour and food was still not ready. It was obvious when we arrived that the order had never been placed but they were not honest with us about that. They were also not apologetic. Our go to Friday night restaurant. Have never had a bad meal here. They are consistently wonderful. Took out of town family member here, who has dined all over the world, and he raved about the meal. I love the field salad with fried goat cheese and Thai entrees. Husband almost always has the sushi, which is extremely fresh. Waiters are great, especially Justin. Food was spectacular. Ordered a pickup to go for my wife and I. First time customers. Our typical Thai restaurant has always been the Thai Place on Kerry Forest, but their online menu has disappeared, so we decided to give Siam a try and we have no regrets. I ordered the garlic duck and my wife got the grilled shrimp and veggies and we ordered the summer roll and the crab cream cheese rolls. All were exceptional. The Thai Place may still have one up on the Summer rolls because they are exceptionally large, while Siam's are sliced small and more green then meat, but no matter what, it gets 4 stars from us. read more

This is a sister store to the Siam Sushi restaurant off Monroe St in the Lake Ella plaza, next to Publix. The sushi is just as terrific as the original store, but now, we have 2 sides of town in which we can enjoy it. We love this place! My favorite app is the calamari! It's lightly breaded & fried & never dry! It's cooked perfectly. I always get the Pad Woon Sen with tofu & it has never disappointed. Keep in mind this is a Thai restaurant that does serve other dishes... but I would say I go to a Thai restaurant for a Thai fish. Many reviewers complained about their sushi & I cannot attest to their sushi. This is the first dish I ordered "Thai hot" & it was actually hot! I typically stick to a lesser heat after that. One the way from Thomasville I wanted to tea new place prior to my afternoon appointment. It started off promising. I asked for suggestions since I was a newbie. Apparently when I wanted to try both the sushi and a hot item they labeled me as someone that didn't have a clue. The miss soup had no body. Previous iterations I have had had kelp to add depth. I detected none here. The house salad was decent though the house ginger dressing was grainy, but had a decent balance between the warmth and pungency of the ginger and the other components. The glass noodles & mushrooms with chicken was the highlight of tis meal. I ordered it " American hot" not "Thai hot" as my taste buds just weren't up to that level of spicy today. The bento box came after the spicy noodles, and most was decent. Two concerns; the fish was sliced so thin one could read a newspaper through it. one piece had a blood line so clearly fixable either the chef didn't care or didn't think I would know proper sushi. (cut the blood line out for future customers.) I laid that sad piece of fish on the box and sent it back when i was through. I hope my experience visiting them on a Thursday afternoon is no indication of how things are prepared all the time. I have other options I enjoy so much more. I doubt I will return. read more

Just say no to this place. Service was next to nonexistent and the food was not very satisfying. My husband's chirashi was meager at best, and my roll was very small. The rice was tasty and so was the miso soup, but their policy of leaving out mushrooms(little tiny bits, at that) from the soup that comes with dinner is cheesy at best. The poor kid who was all alone at the sushi bar was doing his best, but he's little more than a trainee and so, so slow. He was the friendluest and mist helpful employee in the place, though. Dined here Tuesday evening with out of town company. Came in at 6 so it was kinda slow. Service started well with appetizers (spring rolls, Panko oysters and edamame) and drinks (water) arriving promptly. However between then and dinner it went to slow...soup was delivered concurrent with entree arrival and my seaweed salad forgotten until our last bite when it was brought out (1 star for remembering). We've been here several times before so something was going on. Food good when finally presented. We'll try again hoping it was an off night. This was a 2 star night but food still good so upped to a 3. They can do better. Maybe management should ask guests how good their visit is. read more

Went there recently with the family. We had several of their rolls and some pad Thai. The pad Thai was very good (that's why 2 stars); the rolls pretty close to awful! Service was also not very good and we waited a very, very long time for our food. Our rolls came out first and then we had another wait for the pad Thai. The manager did come to our table to apologize; it seems the kitchen was "backed up". Bottom line, next time I want Thai I'll go to Reangthai and for some good rolls there are a lot of better places in Tallahassee. read more

I had lunch at 1pm and it took 30 minutes to get a Bento box-there were only 2 tables including mine. It was hot, like they couldn't afford to run the A/C kind of hot. This is good sushi for tallahassee. I've always had great service and been happy with my food. The presentation is very nice portions are appropriate and filing and the sushi bar clearly uses a high quality product. Higher then most sushi joints in town in my opinion, my only complaint is that my sashimi deluxe dinner featured only salmon and 3 different kinds of tuna; not much of a variety for my taste and the hamachi was probably not thawed enough/correctly. read more

I've traveled to Japan and have eaten at some of the most notable places here in the States, from San Francisco to NYC to Miami.
