My family and I have been coming here for years! This place is one of my favorites to get pho (if you're into a more sweeter tasting broth). We love the Thai tea here! The atmosphere and the service is always great. They are located on Nimitz. The parking up front is really tight and there is more parking in the garage.

Seriously, I have to remember to at least have something to eat earlier in the day before coming to a place with such good food like here. We both got here starving and fell for the "hungry eyes are bigger than the stomach" trap! It was just the two of us and here's what we ordered along with a Singha beer to kick off the meal... Spring rolls Masaman curry w/chicken Stuffed chicken wings Me grob with pork Thai fried chicken We also each ordered a serving of sticky rice Everything was fantastic as usual and it would be tough to pick out a favorite. I really do love their food and my only nit might be that the sauce for the Me Grob is a touch too sweet, nothing a spoonful of one of their chili sauces doesn't help balance out though. This meal was easily enough to feed a family of 4 (and keep in mind there was a 2nd beer ordered somewhere in the middle of all the food.) If we were planning on heading home afterwards it'd be no problem boxing up the leftovers for a late night snack or breakfast but we had a ton of plans afterwards so the food would probably go bad sitting in the car. Well, we did like all kids of mothers who drilled into us the "...there are starving kids in foreign countries" mantra and pretty much ate ALL of it, I think the only thing left was a bit of sticky rice and a tiny piece of chicken. Yeah, we were uncomfortably full but our moms would've been proud.

Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... My niece is home for a couple of weeks. She really likes Thai food, so we chose Siam Garden Cafe because of the free parking at Nimitz Center! LOL! The restaurant is located in the same strip mall as Eagle Cafe. I was here many many years ago with my high school classmate. We had stuffed chicken wings, pad Thai, green papaya salad, and summer rolls. It was a yummy meal! The cozy, dimly lit interior looks authenticly decorated. Service was pleasant and efficient! We ordered Panang Curry with no spiciness, but it was spicy for me. The sticky rice helped a lot. We also got the pad see ew... it was delicious! This is a convenient location with accessible restroom! We'll be back!

The best Thai food anywhere spring rows are. Plentiful curry's tastes great.I reached out, especially their stuffed chicken. It's killer, good. Go and try this place. I've been coming here over 20 years. Portions are still in in good portions

We started with their cucumber salad. Packed with flavor, even the "mild" is spicy. You can tell they make this fresh because the cucumber slices were still firm and not soggy. Their yellow curry was delicious. Smooth sauce that isn't too salty. We added chicken to our order and that was a nice texture. We enjoyed this over sticky rice. Our favorite was the pad thai. Balanced layers of taste that wasn't too sweet, not too tangy, and not too salty. The noodles were tender, the veggies were fresh, and we added fried tofu to our order. We went during late lunch so it wasn't too busy and the service was attentive. Over the years, the food here seems to be consistent...tasty and plentiful!

The food is spot on! The service fantastic and I love the ambiance. The prices have risen but it will not stop me from visiting often. If you pay cash you save 3%. My wife and I spent $77 tip included for 3 separate dishes and one sticky rice and one regular rice. But, it's worth it to treat yourself to a nice lunch or dinner right? See you there! You can thank me later.

Been going to this spot for a long long time, their food keeps bringing me back. We got the stuffed chicken wing, the pad kee mao and their whole garlic fish. They didnt disappoint. They are still very consistent. This place still got the same lady servers in their 50s, warm and nice. They kept checking on us so felt like I have to tell them the food was really good lol. The restaurant is fairly small so when theres a larger group in there, its quite noisy. When we were visited, there was a large group of 10 ppl right next to us. And there was a moment where one person said curry then rhe whole damn table repeated curry 15 times in different accents. That was kinda weird.

We came here with a party of 18 and I was honestly really impressed with how well the staff handled everything. The servers were super nice, efficient, and patient the whole time. Even with such a big group and a ton of dishes, the food came out pretty quickly and everything was on point. We ordered a bunch of dishes, spring rolls, fried egg rolls. papaya salad, Thai fried rice, panang curry, drunken noodles, and more. Everything was tasty and well-balanced. The mango sticky rice at the end was the perfect finish. The restaurant isn't huge, but they use the space well and were able to fit our whole group comfortably. It's located in a shopping center with paid parking in the back, so just a heads-up if you're driving. Overall, great food and even better service!

First time trying this place. Was recommended. Worth trying! Everything we ordered was delicious. I wasn't able to take pictures of everything we ordered. Ordered: all dishes were good portion sizes! -Fried shrimp and fried chicken as appetizers. Both were fried well and the batter for the chicken was light and crispy. -pad Thai was a big dish, lots of flavors - Pineapple curry with shrimp and yellow curry with chicken: lots of curry sauce, so don't forget to add side of rice . One order of rice can be shared at least 1-2 people. - pad see ew, noodles were nice and thick - garlic stir fry with beef, sauce was very tasty - Thai ice coffee: sweet and delicious. Cost $7, which was a little more expansive than I thought it would be. Nice place for lunch or casual dinner. Takes reservations and plenty of parking in front or there is a parking structure in the back. Staff were really friendly and food came out quick

My favorite place to take my girlfriends out for lunch. I usually like to get the beef salad or one of the special soups. Of course the white noodle pad. Thai is awesome too. Heck you can't really go wrong. My other friend actually ordered two of the desserts and damn it was good. Get the mochi ball one! Plan to go back soon.

While visiting the home state, my Thai friend recommended me this place and stated it was really authentic, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Being all over Thailand and trying the food there, it's really hard to find good Thai food, especially in the states. We made sure to get there as soon as it opened because I heard it can be very busy. Within the first 30 minutes of it opening, the place was packed. Our waitress handled our orders quickly however, and gave us great recommendations. The food tasted amazing and I really liked my spicy basil beef fried rice. If you are sensitive to spice, I would recommend getting it mild since this was really spicy which I really enjoyed. The food was piping hot and fresh. I can't wait to go back.

Ask the Community - Siam Garden Cafe

Is MSG added in their dishes?

You can specifically ask them NOT to add MSG but all of the other items such as fish sauce, oyster sauce that is used to cook does contain MSG.

Is anyone else having issues with the phone number to call for take-out? When I call I get a FAX number.

Last time I drove there on Sunday, the door was locked and notice says "close for deep cleaning". 🤷

Does anyone know if they're still open? I have been calling for several days to do a take-out order and either I get the busy signal or a fax machine picks up. I know they closed their Kaimuki location - please don't tell me they closed this one.

I drove there on Sunday and the sign says they are closed for deep cleaning.

    Do they use MSG?

Yes they do but you can request without.

    Is this place wheelchair accessible?

    Yes, but it's tight

Where is the best place to park?

If you can find parking in front of the restaurant then that's ideal but if not there's a parking lot behind with a walk thru tunnel to the restaurant. There is also a ramp up to an upper lot.

    Is it byob?

No it's not. They have a bar counter inside.

This, however, will probably be my first and last visit. The place is cute enough, with a large back garden area where I chose to dine. Service was also great. I appreciate the little button at the table that I could click for service. The food, however, was mediocre at best. My friend and I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, ginger chicken, chicken satay, and pork larb. The pad Thai was the best dish, but it was very tomatoey, which I did not expect. The chicken with ginger had very little chicken. It was mostly julienned vegetables, including celery which I do not care for. The chicken satay was kinda dry and most certainly needed the peanut sauce to make it palatable. The larb was very dry with very bland flavor, served on one lettuce leaf and a wedge of cabbage. How am I supposed to eat that? All of it was quite disappointing, especially for the price point. As I was eating this meal I remembered the Thai food truck at the end of Ward, where Fisherman's Pier used to be. Now THAT was some good Thai food. I just looked today and it is now closed until June 5. Maybe they are doing renovations. We came for Mother's Day. I was a little nervous because it's been years since we have eaten here and it appeared to look like a lot of tourists eating here. I'm Thai and I was wondering if I was going to be disappointed. I remember the food being OK so I kept an open mind. I decided to order something I normally would not which is the clay pot crab with glass noodles. it was OK. The crab didn't have a huge prominent taste and glass noodles are just meh to me. We also ordered the crab fried rice which was exceptional. I would definitely order that again. There was so much flavor in the rice. I also ordered a yum salad with tofu. That was also good. I loved the chili lime dressing and the added cilantro made it taste even more fresh. The lettuce leaves were huge though. I'm not sure why they were the size of a hamburger patty. It made for eating the salad challenging and messy. My kid had the salmon curry. She loved it. She doesn't handle spice so she asked for a level 2. Level two was spicy for her but she was able to eat it. Being Thai I did not feel it was spicy at all. But it did have a little bit of heat. The Mr ordered the crispy garlic chicken. It was a huge plate of it. He said it was good. He also ordered beef masuman. I will say that the portion seemed tiny. He said it was also good. I actually was pleasantly surprised this time around as I remember coming years ago and it was just OK. About the music. I did read lots of comments about their music Choice. It's not classical but jazz. To my astonishment it was extremely loud. The music Choice was not the issue but the loudness of it. I'm not sure if they tried to make it loud to sound like live music or not. We couldn't even talk to each other because we would've ended up shouting. That's really our only complaint.

Bravo to the chef for making it happen. I talking with Taylor we learned the owner is her uncle Dr. Stephen Foley, MD an OBY/GYN and University of Hawai'i alum as Keck School of Medicine. As a former hospital CEO on the mainland I can appreciate this extremely difficult work. The Honolulu Ohana is blessed to have Dr. Foley a fellow Irishman on Ohau serving patients, new babies and extraordinary ThaIRISH cusine. Bravo!

We ordered yellow curry, panang curry, pad kee mao, roti, chicken wings, pad kaprow, and a chicken noodle soup. The waiter brought out the dishes within minutes. The serving size was just right for the noodle and rice dishes, but I thought the curry size was a little small. I tried every single dish and they were delicious! Every dish had tons of flavor. The wings were crispy along with the roti. We dipped it into a curry sauce since we had a person allergic to peanuts. Yum! When I come back to Waikiki, I will definitely come back here again. Service was quick, they tended to our needs, and food was phenomenal! Come and taste it for yourself!

It's on the smaller side, but the tables are spaced comfortably enough that you don't feel cramped. The menu is also extensive, with just about every popular Thai dish you could think of. Service was one of the highlights. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick throughout the meal. Our Thai tea arrived almost immediately. I'm talking within a minute of ordering. It's definitely on the stronger side with less milk than most Thai teas, allowing the tea flavor to really shine through. It leans a bit sweeter than average, but the sweetness was balanced, and you could genuinely taste the freshly steeped tea leaves. The Thai boat noodles are what this restaurant is known for, so they were a must-order. Since it was my first time trying boat noodles, I figured this was the best place to experience them. I can definitely see why they're a customer favorite and would recommend ordering them if it's your first visit. The beef pad see ew surprised me. It was sweeter than most versions I've had, but it really worked. The noodles were cooked perfectly with great texture. My only complaint was the beef. It was a bit chewy and didn't match the quality of the noodles. The seafood tom yum was the biggest letdown. The broth itself was flavorful, but the seafood selection felt like a frozen mix rather than fresh ingredients. The mussels were already removed from their shells, the squid was chewy, and the soup included canned mushrooms instead of fresh ones, along with fish cakes and fish balls. It lacked the freshness I was hoping for. Overall, I left feeling that the proteins were the weakest part of the meal. The flavors, service, and atmosphere were all enjoyable, but the quality of the meat and seafood didn't quite stand out. That said, it's still a solid Thai restaurant, especially considering the options in Hawaii. Would I come back? I'm on the fence, but probably not

The vegetable spring roll was crispy and delicious wrapped in lettuce. One of my favorites to order. Was going to order Chicken Pad Si Eiw but the waitress recommended beef instead...said it was better. So ordered on her recommendation and it was delicious. Need to include vegetables in our meal so ordered Pork Ong Choi. The Ong Choi was a little crunchy not soft/soggy and not sure what kind of seasoning but it was delicious.

Fried chicken app was amazing, nice and crispy, fried just enough. Fried rice was nicely seasoned, tossed beautifully in the wok, with big pieces of egg and onions, with chicken as our choice of protein. Cucumber on the side for a nice crunch. What really stole the show here, was their papaya salad. We always order it Lao style, with extra funk and medium spicy which this place does very well. For non spice eaters, they are tame with their spices here. With the right amount of cabbage, and lettuce for dipping and wrapping. Prices are par with other Thai shops, you can even find Lao classics on the menu. Nice and clean, delicious Thai tea, and easy parking. Will definitely return.
