A great hole in the wall Thai breakfast spot in Thai Town! My friend and I visited for some breakfast on an early Saturday morning and our experience here was pretty good. We shared all the dishes we ordered: - Pork Porridge: Warm, comforting and full of meat! This was delicious and I liked the amount of juicy pork meatballs in this dish. The savory flavor and fresh ginger were also great. - Chinese Donut: Crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. These were yummy dipped in the condensed milk and the porridge. Wish they were fresher though, we saw they were just sitting out. - Fried Leek Cakes: Crispy and tasty, but a bit too heavy. We also weren't sure if the inside was fully cooked. Good, but not our most favorite. The prices are also super cheap and all of this was $24 in total! It's also cash only, but they also take Zelle. The staff were nice and frequently checked up on us. The cleanliness could be a bit better, I noticed food stains on my plastic cup. For parking, it will be street or neighborhood parking. Overall, a good experience here for cheap and traditional Thai foods.

After an early morning hike my friends asked if I wanted to have some breakfast. When I was asked if I was interested in a Thai breakfast I was super interested. I've never had Thai food other than the typical dishes everyone knows. Located in Thai town Siam Sunset is a small shop connected to a motel structure. Its really easy to miss. Again, I've never had or even heard of Thai breakfast items so this was a total treat for me. We ordered several items on the menu like rice porridge, kai grata, chinese donuts and others. Shortly after we arrived more people started to show up so coming in early was a good call. The restaurant is cash only so come prepared. Parking: Street metered VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

The price is extremely high considering the small portion size, and the taste is no longer as delicious as it was back when the owner was the older gentleman. This order for togo 18$

This is a restaurant that is truly no-frills. We came on a Friday morning for late breakfast/early lunch, and upon walking in we saw so many older Thai-speaking people ordering their regular breakfasts and socializing. For our group of 5, we ordered a lot because we were excited. We got three of their special beverages, we had to pay for bottled water otherwise. The selection of fried rices, noodle dishes, and curries was wider than most other places in LA. The server was helpful in making sure we had a balanced meal of carbs, meat, and veggies. Food came out fast. We were not bothered while we ate, we just asked for additional sharing plates, which was great for our group to chat and share the dishes. Cash only, but there's an atm on-site. We did street parking, which was easy on a Friday morning.

Had lunch here a few days ago for the first time... The restaurant feels very homey and has authentic food items!! We got 2 items, the catfish and Siam Sunset Noodle. Not a lot of people talk enough about the catfish, which I believe was the star item. The fish had a moist texture, and its thick chili curry sauce elevated the spiced flavor it carried. Service was very friendly and had attentive staff. Food was quickly served on a hot plate. :) Dishes had reasonable prices. Would come back again...

Good for Breakfast, Open early in the morning at 6 a.m. I really recommend menu, Pork blood soup, Hainan Chicken over rice, Porridge and Chinese Donut (in Thai style) and more in the menu ... It's GOOD service, very nice and clean place.

decided to try this spot for some juk after some morning cravings. despite the rugged look of the building, the service is welcoming and the food was prepared instantly. i was looking forward to ordering some you tiao for the juk but it seems as if they were sold out already. do note that this place only accepts zelle or cash!

10/10 place. This food is the best thai food I have ever had!! This is true comfort thai food, something your mom would make. Taste of nostalgia. If i'm ever in LA again, I am coming here again for sure. The service-, waitress was so nice and accommodating to us. Made sure we got good parking :)

$2.50 for soy milk with like 3 toppings in it (tofu skin, barley and clear boba) !!! Yummy!! Ginger tofu wasn't that great. The ginger soup was good but the tofu was not silky enough. Boat flat noodle was ok. It was a bit salty and it was lacking something that I can't think of. Maybe it was a mix Thai Chinese restaurant so it didn't have the authentic Thai boat noodle flavor? I dunno Crab meat noodle was one of my fav because there was so much crab in it. Also, the egg noodle was so good. The only downside was TOO MANY SHELLS in the noodle. Gotta be very careful eating this. You don't want to choke or injure yourself with bits of shells. Therefore, I won't be ordering this again. Overall, food was good and service was good as well. Restroom avail outside the restaurant Restaurant looked small on the outside but pretty big inside.

Discovered Siam Sunset via an Eater article, and I'm very happy that I did! It was an excellent recommendation. We decided to get lunch takeout from here yesterday and it did not disappoint. We ordered a variety of dishes, and each was delicious and flavorful. I would definitely come back. The menu items I got to try included the Hainan Chicken, Roasted Duck Curry, Roasted Duck Noodle Soup, and Spicy Pork Basil. My favorites were the Hainan Chicken and Roasted Duck Curry. The restaurant itself was very busy when I arrived, which is a good sign. After trying the food, I know why!

Authentic Thai flavors. Plenty of options to choose from. Opens early so it can also be a great breakfast spot. Service and food came out pretty fast.

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. I got the plain kalgaksu, mainly because it included pork potstickers. The anchovy broth isn't fishy (which I was concerned about), it's deep and full in a way that's hard to describe. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. I can't wait to come back - maybe not on a Saturday night next time so I don't have to look so long for parking!

Even when we're still in line, the staff already let us know where to sit. I really appreciated the warm gesture and attentiveness of all the servers for sure!! It's a huge space that gave more industrial vibe to me than traditional Taiwanese theme, but it's totally a very convenient dining spot for both small and big group. We tried some from the menu and were pleased by all of them. They might look small but very filling actually since all the bowls were filled to top. The Dan Dan noodles have flavorful peanut sauce with it perfect noodles texture. Would recommend add extra sides for proteins, which we opted for pork belly and minced pork. The belly was extremely tender with thick juicy slices. The minced pork was equally palatable. They're generous in portion for being sides, we even packed some home. We obviously didn't skip their Hakka Mochi for dessert, which were still warm chewy yet moist when served and covered in overflowing black sesame and peanut powder. I wasn't usually a fan of black sesame but decided to give this one a try anyway and ending up no regrets at all! The powder was such spoiling mix of sweet and salty in one bite.

It was nice that they gave us a separate table card for our dessert that we could display when we were ready for it. Thousand Layer Pancake with egg and cheese: Nice and flaky, good flavors, good size for sharing, my favorite dish that night. Scallion Bread Sandwich with five spice beef: Nice flavors and generous amount of filling, but the bread could've been made crisper, as it got soggy from the fillings and fell apart while eating. Chiayi Chicken Rice: This was fine but pretty mild and basic, nothing really stood out about this. Fruit Shaved lce: It looked really nice and had a lot of pineapple and strawberries. The pudding was pretty bland. The ice was the coarse, crunchy kind (not the fluffy, creamy kind). It was big enough to share with 3 or 4 people, though I don't think I'd get it again.
