The outside reminded me of a garage, which I'm pretty sure is the look they were going for hence the name........Sidecar lol. There were long picnic tables outside but covered. There were a few tables outside that were not covered. I'll tell you, on a hot evening you can't tell there are ceiling fans. I had to step outside the garage to get some air. Since they are beside V's Pizza they share a bathroom located between the two spots inside. You can go back and forth between each location pretty easily. You can also order V's Pizza while chillin at Sidecar. They will bring it to your table. The cocktail I had, twin peaks, was pricey, small, but very good and refreshing! If you are a cocktail connoisseur you must stop by and try some of their specialty drinks! My cocktail was made with gin, lemon, raspberry and peach. It was strong yet smooth. Finally... I got to go to my favorite bar in Jacksonville and relax over a world class cocktail. And not only that...it's attached to my favorite pizza place, V Pizza in San Marco. Why is it my favorite bar? These bartenders are some of the most amazing mixologist I have ever seen. I now knew they were open and I also knew they would be practicing the safest practices possible all while making you feel extremely welcome. And they did, simple common sense practices which allowed you to enjoy your visit. Today, I had a Summer's Cancelled- Reposado Tequila, sherry, pineapple, coconut, and lime. So tasty and delicious. Since they are part of V Pizza, I enjoyed some Cryin' Hawaiian wings. These are the best wings in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, the world, the planet Earth. Yes... they are that good. Wood fired, pineapple, spiced with some heat (not too hot) and fall off the bone chicken. Amazing how well they went with my cocktail too. I ordered a pizza to go that was fantastic. I ordered their Original Margarita and added sausage and Peppadew peppers. This is a combo that is absolutely delicious. i hurried home and had a remarkable pizza. Hands down the best bar in the San Marco/Downtown area. I found this gem in the neighborhood a few years back when I stopped in for V pizza next door. It was game over at first sip. I feel like the bartenders here are invincible. There are already so many ever-changing drink options on the menu but they can make pretty much anything you ask. I mean anything! They can probably file my taxes and water my flowers and it'll taste boozy and good!!! always get the drink of the week which is on a giant blackboard towards the end of the bar. It's a steal too. I'm a cheap date. The atmosphere is really cozy, a little hipster but genuine. A fair amount of bar seats, tons of tables. You can order pizza from next door and they'll bring it on a silver platter. Sidecar is a casual but cool bar right next to V's pizza in San Marco. I've heard nothing but good things about both businesses and a bourbon passport event for Angel's Envy brought me into Sidecar. I actually went twice in a few days- going with different friends also trying to stamp their Angel's Envy, Toast the Trees passports! The special cocktail the created for the event was quite delicious and my friend bragged about how they make the best old fashioned in town! If you haven't figured it out- I love bourbon. I don't do beer and have no taste in wine, but liquor~ that's a whole different story! How I have managed to live in Jax for over 4 years and not check out some of the coolest bars in town is beyond me~ I am so happy Sidecar was on the list. Stopped by here last night on a date. The first thing I noticed was the fun music and lively environment. We sat down at the bar and the bartender immediately gave us some menus and offered us any help . The menu is more like a mini novel ! They have so many cocktails options it was a bit overwhelming ( in the best way ). What I did was I shared to the bartender the type of drink and alcohol I wanted and she created this amazing concoction for me ! Two for one experience. It's a fantastic bar attached to a fantastic pizza place (V). It's got a hip, fun, and intimate vibe. It has managed to capture a trendy and neighborhood feel at the same time. I enjoy the specialty cocktails (Try the Cupid if you like sweet and fruity) while my friends enjoy the great selections of beers. The bar tenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The indoor, outdoor seating options are a plus. Being able to order a pizza, wings, or anything else you'd like from V's pizza (attached to this bar)... and it be delivered to your table inside the bar, is priceless. Although great music is not necessarily criteria for a good rating, it is so cool that this place knows how to play good music. I enjoyed getting drinks from Dan the bartender, he was really efficient and very nice. Sidecar has a great selection of local beers including Cigar City and the very local brand Aardwolf. The prices were pretty decent for a round of beer when compared with other places I've been. I really liked that there are tables in a covered patio outside and some nice areas inside the bar to chill. The bar area inside has glass window panes with bar drinks/offerings drawn into the glass panes, like menus. In Jacksonville for a few days for work, when a coworker took me to Sidecar for a drink. It's a cocktail bar in San Marco without the pretense that features both indoor and outdoor seating for whatever you're feeling. Inside is embellished with dark wood and dim lighting for a romantic feel, while the outdoor seating area has plentyyyy of tables for you and your friends. I was feeling something refreshing so the bartender recommended something from their signature cocktail list. It was exactly what I was looking for and was a bright, fun pink color, which made me enjoy it even more. Cocktails are reasonably priced, around $10, which by my bougie New Yorker standards, is a great price. The menu is extensive and includes of varying spirits and palates. There's something for everyone. There's a pizza place next door that you can bring over to Sidecar, which could definitely be a game changer on late nights at this bar. Came here for the first time during a yelp event last year. I thought it was nice, they had a little challenges with the food service but that's because sometimes it's hard to be ready for all the Yelpers however the drink service was pretty good. This time I went in for happy hour with some other friends I met because this is centrally located to all of our houses. The bar was crowded but not packed, the outside seating really helps with that and there's no smoke on the inside which makes it extra appealing. They have a really great selection of upscale liquor products. They also have the obligatory drink menu but you can pretty much order anything you can think of and they can make it I thought it was pretty interesting that they didn't carry Stoli and when I asked for it she kind a looked at me like I was asking for the well swill... Well in my opinion that's actually good, stoli is the lowest end of vodka that it's really optimal to drink. They also had the obligatory bottle of fireball in the freezer so we can do some chilled but not watered-down fireball shots. One thing I thought was a little odd, their bartenders poured using Jiggers. Most upscale bars, the bartenders are trained to be able to free-pour the correct amount. That makes it take a little longer and it's noticeable when the bar is full, we did wait maybe 10 minutes in line to get drinks at the bar and I didn't see anybody that appeared to be serving the bar tables so that's why we had to go to the bar to get our drinks. The place on a Friday night was pretty crowded and the adjacent pizza place was pretty crowded and smelled wonderful, and you can go grab food and bring it into the bar if you like. This was a good place although their parking certainly leaves something to be desired. It definitely made it to my try it again list. read more

On a 4-day work trip, my co-worker and I visited twice - we loved this place! After eating at V Pizza, we decided to venture next door for a nightcap. It's very dark inside, but gives off a great, sophisticated mood. When we went on a Tuesday, it wasn't crowded inside at all so we chose a table off to the side. Once we realized they didn't have table service, we went up to get one of their leather-bound menus. My co-worker ordered a glass of Blanton's and I asked the bartender his preference between two cocktails. I ended up selecting a Mai Tai but not without the bartender asking if I was sure because, "this isn't like a regular Mai Tai that's really fruity." I TOTALLY understand why he was trying to caution me, but it felt a little condescending - especially when the ingredients are listed on the menu. I ordered it anyway and it was delicious! Upon our second visit, it was much busier but the service was still prompt and pleasant! I ended up ordering a Twin Peaks the second time around and it was so good! We went to Wine Down Wednesday and had a great time laughing and chatting on the outside patio. We ordered drinks from the bar and food from V's Pizza which is attached. I had the Pain Killer which was great. It is a similar version of the Pain Killer from Cheddars except it was smaller and did not have the rim dressed with toasted coconut. The I had wings for my meal which was pretty good, The vibe was nice and the weather was good. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Those who arrived after I did had to park a block away.
