Honestly, I thought this place was pretty fire for post marathon meat eats. Affordable for AYCE, meats were decent, and the ajummas were very nice with their service. One of them was from Upland, shoutout to the IE.

To begin, prior to coming I have seen some iffy reviews about the service here and after trying this place out I can now see why. My theory is that on busy nights/weekends the turnovers for the next seating are extremely overwhelming on the staff due to limited seating which in return causes the priority to be getting ppl in and out asap rather than focusing on the actual "service" if ykwim. SO if you come please be patient with the aunties here who are trying their best. I suggest on coming on a slow/week day if anything for those who appreciate more attention. The food is good esp for the price. This Korean bbq definitely screams hole in the wall.

Fast service, good panchan variety, quality meat... and the price isn't bad for ayce. This is a staple in our restaurant rotation.

Soondaeguk. This is what I crave when I want Korean food.

I realize folks come to Sik Do Rak for the Korean bbq and AYCE option. Not me. I come for the soondaeguk on the lunch special menu. Most of the menu items are pretty standard for local Korean restaurants, but soondaeguk (blood sausage soup) is hard to find and I love the way they do it here. A ton of perilla flavor in the broth and just the right portion for a hearty meal, the soup comes with rice and banchan. Sik Do Rak isn't the shiniest place ever, but the restaurant is pretty clean, the service is decent and while parking is tight, it is available. I've been coming for over 10 years and it has my Korean mother's stamp of approval.

Sikdorak is one of those old school, no frills ayce kbbq spots where you go when you're craving a lot of meat for a great price. The value here is hard to beat the per person cost gets you a solid selection, and while the meat quality is just decent, it's the quantity that makes this place worth it. One thing to note is that the first round of meat they bring out is huge, so it's best to pace yourself when ordering. My go to choices are the brisket, pork belly, and marinated short ribs, the short ribs alone justify the price. Service is surprisingly good for an ayce spot, they check in often to see if you need more meat, and once, a server even brought us a bucket of ice for our beers. Speaking of beers, it's byob, which is always a plus. If you're looking for a fancy kbbq experience, this isn't it, but if you want to eat a ton of meat without breaking the bank, Sikdorak is the move. I'll definitely keep coming back whenever I'm in the mood for an unlimited meat feast.

So this is not my first time here - it's maybe 4th or so. But let me tell you all about it. Sik Do Rak is that classic no-frills Korean BBQ spot that's all about the meat and the vibes -- and honestly, I'm here for it. We came in hungry and left full and happy, thanks in large part to the auntys who run the floor like pros. From the moment we sat down, they made sure we had everything we needed -- showing us their own technique for grilling the meats, checking in constantly, and making sure nothing was missing. We ordered brisket, beef steak, galbi, and more -- solid quality across the board. The brisket was especially good, thin and perfect for a quick sear. The sides were tasty, though the bean sprouts were just okay (a little bland compared to the others). Our grill fire went out a few times -- kind of a buzzkill in the moment -- but the staff handled it quickly every time, so no complaints there. The ambience is what you'd expect: a little smoky, a little loud, and very straightforward. No fluff, no fusion, just good food and casual energy. Their kitchen wasn't running when we went, so it was all meats and sides -- but to be honest, that's all we needed. Will definitely be back when we're in the mood for that good old-school KBBQ fix. Parking is tough to find. You really gotta get lucky. The restaurant validates parking though so that's nice. Other than that, I'll definitely be back (again!)

Sikdorak is one of the OG KBBQ spots that may not be the most refined or have the best service- but it always hits right. First things first, it's open until 4 am and its BYOB. Bet. I always end up being the DD whenever my friends want to drink at Sikdorak but it's still always ends up being a good time. If you bring your own alcohol, don't forget to bring your ID- they will check! The AYCE Korean BBQ option is $30 per person. My biggest bone to pick with the AYCE here is that it does not include lettuce. Lettuce is an extra $5 and we ended up getting two orders of lettuce the last time we came in. We also ordered their green onion salad for $6. Usually both of these items would be included in their complimentary banchan. We also asked for some raw garlic and soybean paste - although it's not on the menu or automatically given with banchan. Whether if it's a water refill, grill change, or putting in meat orders --you'll have to be more assertive when asking for something you may need. Just a note, they give huge portions of meat for your first order and smaller portions for the other rounds of meat. Also, you can only order 4 meats at a time. You do have to pay to park in this lot. Don't forget to get your ticket validated!

Today I got to try their soft tofu stew and it was only $11.95 and great. The side dishes also tasted great. The lady working there is so friendly and helpful.

Walk in available for 6 on a Thursday night at 6:30 pm. It's BYOB so be sure to ice your fave alcoholic beverage to bring with you. If you need cups, bring your own. LOL. Dinner is $29.99 per person. They allow you to order 4 items from the menu at a time. Banchan serving is small but you can ask for more. They prob don't desire waste. If you need hot sauce, gochujung or ssamjang sauces, you'll need to ask for them. Items like corn cheese and lettuce leaves ($5 for 6 pieces) for wraps are additional. I suggest sticking to the marinated/spicy meats as they are softer. The short ribs & beef steak are chewy so you need to cut them diagonally. The pork belly (not the thin sliced pork belly) was thin and was dry when cooked. Be careful when grilling the spicy squid so you don't overcook it. I prefer squid steaks.

I really enjoy the Korean comfort foods! 4 stars for the food, soups, and ban chan, 5 stars if the service was great. Typical service you will get at a Korean spot but no complaints. Just gotta be patient for ban chan refills or if you need anything else, I don't expect much just happy that I get to have my Korean food. During this recent Saturday visit, I decided to go here for our late lunch, after hiking Koko Head Trail & Makapuu. It was about 4:30 pm, we were the only ones there, but it filled up pretty quick an and they do have many take out and Uber/Door Dash orders. My favorites here are the combo set, choice of soondubu (combination, kim chee, spam, beef, sausage, clam,) & either meat jun, fried mandoo, bulgogi, yellow corvina, seafood jun, or BBQ chicken. The combo use to be $20.55 my first time but now went up to $23.55, hence the increase, it is still a great deal, this meal comes with rice and 5 different ban chan. This combo was more than enough for the both of us. My favorite is the spam soondubu ( yes. who picks Spam right?! hehe) & the seafood Jun. Although it so hard to decide since all the choices are good, I will have to visit again for the other selection. The other half and I cannot eat an entire combo set by ourselves. I love the ban chan, especially the daikon & kim chee, so fresh and crispy! When I first dined here, I was surprise to see they give you a fresh egg to crack in your soondubu soup, I am use to the egg already in there. We always have leftover soondu soup which I take home and add to my Korean ramen the next day, so good! Support this local mom & pop restaurant, So Gong Dong has been around for the longest time just only recently I've discovered it. I will be back for the next Korean soondubu, ban chan fix!

The premium AYCE option is around $60 per person, which would be reasonable if the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't. We're from the Bay Area and have been to countless Korean BBQ restaurants with significantly better meat quality for the same price or less. To make matters worse, even at the highest-priced AYCE tier, fountain drinks aren't included. What really left a bad impression was the automatic 20% gratuity. Our group consisted of two separate parties of three people each. We were seated together at one large table with two grills, but we had separate bills, ordered different AYCE meats option, didn't share food, and made that CLEAR before ordering. The menu states that automatic gratuity applies to parties of five or more, yet we were still charged because we happened to sit together. Had we known this was their policy, we would have chosen another restaurant or sat at different areas of the restaurant. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because our servers were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, when we brought the gratuity issue to the manager, he insisted we were one large party despite us being separate parties with separate orders and separate checks. At the end of the day, the only difference was that we happened to be sitting at the same table. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the overpriced food, disappointing meat quality, and questionable gratuity policy make it hard for me to recommend this place.
