We dined here on a Monday evening at 5pm after traveling into town. They appeared to be busy, but didn't have a current wait. We were sat quickly, and greeted swiftly by the server. I love Silver Beach Pizza! We brought some work acquaintances from Brazil to enjoy the delicious pizza here. A pizza with vegetables was ordered as well as the Sicilian pizza with the bruschetta appetizer. The men really enjoyed UJ's Sunburst pizza that had yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, asparagus, cherry tomatoes and mixed sweet peppers. Everyone was extremely happy with the meal. read more

Unfortunately I started writing this review near the end of our three hour wait. (We were quoted 1.5 hours when we put our name on the list). I guess waiting 2x isn't terrible if you're going from 15-30 minutes. This was a beating. The hostesses weren't rude, but just kind of shrugged their shoulders when we started inquiring after our first two hours. I guess this is typical. Be forewarned. We were #5-#2 on the list for the last 45 minutes of the wait. Party of 5 if you're wondering. Once we finally got to our table, Zack was great. We were hungry enough I'm not sure we would have turned up our nose at microwave pizza, but this pizza was really good. We ordered one with Alfredo sauce and ham, one half cheese half feta and green olives, and one gluten free Parugula. Wife has a gluten allergy and the GF pizza was helpfully labeled with a sticker. Especially good since the GF crust was actually comparable to the regular crust (not prepackaged Udi's like most places). I sampled it - definitely different from the gluten-full, and pretty darn good. All said, it's obvious to us why this place is so popular (aside from just its clear monopoly on eateries in town). And if you've got wide open plans and want to hang out on the beach indefinitely while you wait for your table, you won't be sorry. If you've got young kids, other plans for the rest of your day, or need something timely by anyone's definition, probably best to skip this one. read more

Silver beach pizza is right on the beach and has a wide variety of their menu including GF items! We tried the breadsticks and you'd never know they were GF! The pizza was also phenomenal. They use parmesan cheese in their marinara and you could smell it at each bite! They don't skimp you on cocktails either. The blueberry mule was a perfect pair. I visited Silver Beach Pizza several years ago when passing through St. Joseph. Passing through again I was eager to see if it was as good as I had remembered. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and stood in a "social distanced" line. Upon opening, we were seated quickly. Even operating at 50% capacity, the restaurant had plenty of seating for those waiting. (Tip-if you forget your mask, they have masks for sale) Simply put, pizza was outstanding. Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings combined together perfectly. I especially like their sausage which is usually average at best at most pizza places outside of Chicago. Here, I could almost eat just the sausage! Service was as attentive as possible. We never waited for drink refills. Even though there were only two of us, I ordered as large a pizza as possible so I could enjoy it again at home the next day. When we left, there was a pretty good line to get in. Even if you're just passing through on Interstate 196, it's worth the effort to stop for some great pizza. read more

Great pizza, the pepperonis are outstanding! My daughter loved the Caesar salad as she is a fanatic about her Caesar salads. The place is very accommodating for a Sunday evening unlike the Burger Brew place down the street that has lazy employees. If this place was near my house in the Chicago Suburbs I would be ordering every week! The staff was nice and the prices are more than reasonable. Large variety of pizzas with both red sauce & without. My friends were very happy to see they had gluten free and dairy free options which is not usually easy to come by so that was much appreciated! We ordered the veggie, margarita (added red sauce), and the parugula. The margarita was definitely our favorite! Our first time here and I saw via Facebook to expect a busy parking lot and a wait for a table. We arrived around 5 on a Saturday, thought we could beat the dinner rush, surprisingly when we left around 7 it wasn't as busy. I ordered the Whirlpool Wonder pizza and he ordered the Meat pizza. Both were delicious! I'm glad we ordered the small and we had several slices leftover. As busy as it was we got our pizza pretty quick! We had a pleasant meal. We came on a Saturday, checked in with hostess 5:28pm and at 7:28pm, 2 hours exactly we were seated. We were a party of 2. It was busy even though the beach was closed for swimming due to weather. When we checked in we were told 1 hr -1hr 1/2 and it went over some. I tried to check if we could reserve ahead of time but this wasn't an option. We ordered our food when we ordered our drinks to speed things up since we were super hungry after long wait. The appetizers came out within 10 min of ordering and the drinks as well. The pizza came out when we finished out appetizers. We enjoyed everything, especially Pizza which was really good and the reason for our visit. I like my salad chopped up into smaller pieces, and this salad was not chopped, but the taste was good. my advice if I were to return back, I would not go on a weekend or I would go before dinner way before like one or 2pm. I would say this is not good for a big party on weekends. You can order from side window and eat on beach. read more

Our waitress, Cam, was amazing! We had a group of 8, and she was so attentive, even though the restaurant was packed. She was able to remember who ordered what, and she made it look easy! The pizza was some of the best I've ever had. I got a small Sicilian pizza. There was definitely enough for 2 people. I ate half and had the rest as leftovers (which were great cold the next day). I ordered takeout after spending the day at the beach right down the street. This place is located conveniently near the lake and has a huge parking lot, rooftop, and takeout window. Historically SBP would get 5 stars from me and most people I know. Recently visited SBP as it's been fav for a long time. Was disappointed by the lower quality. Less toppings on the pizza we ordered and the size of the pizzas were noticeably smaller by about 2". Used to get a whole piece of pizza as part of the Bloody Mary garnish but is now reduced to about a one square inch piece. Prices were not lowered and seem to be even a little higher. We have always considered SBP a treat worth spending extra on because the food and experience was consistently great. I don't know the reason for these changes but they definitely are noticed. I typically don't do reviews but decided to do one this time because I hope the owners will see it. I doubt I am alone in my thinking. read more
