Love, love, love this pizza! I am from the Chicago suburbs and I am picky about my pizza,but this to me, it is as close to our thin crust pizza as you can get. I know others that don't like it, but I cannot understand that. To each their own, though. The upstairs addition for 21 and older was a great idea! You do you have to make reservations way ahead of time to sit up there in the summer at least. I like sitting at the patio bar downstairs. Staff is extremely efficient and fun. We love SBP! I don't ever get pictures before we half eat the pizza so don't mind me! It's the best pizza spot in SW MI. Always friendly staff. Great pizza and service! I haven't had anything other than pizza but many people in my family are gluten free and they say the gluten free crust is some of the best they've eaten. Lots of variety and the large is easily enough for 4. The only challenge is parking. They are hemmed in on one side by train tracks and a hill on the other and they have a drive through so it can take a while to navigate when they are busy (which they usually are). Came to St. Joes for the first time. Read the reviews onSilver beach Pizza and had to try it. 1st off parking is pretty crazy, and I had a Ford transit van and made it work, but might have a little PTSD from that. Moved on in through the screen door to be greeted, told them two people, she said if you go to the roof top no wait just go up and get a table. So we did, when we got to the top of the stairs no one was there and it was kind of dead, so we assumed we could seat ourselves. As we didn't want to sit at the bar. Not sure of her name but the hostess appeared and definitely was annoyed by our seat selection. I tried to explain and she basically waived me off. Needless to say I was thinking maybe we should leave. But we didn't. We heard of the ultra cold schooners and both ordered one. Definitely cold and the Storm cloud was great. We ordered an appetizer of Buffalo wings, sauce was good but these had to be the smallest wings in America. But tasty. Lastly the pizza came, ordered the Carousel. The cheese had a cheddar cheese color to it, the toppings were under the cheese and the crust was super thin. Sauce was kind of sweet, overall taste was good but the cheese kinda through me off. Overall it was a cool atmosphere, beer was ice cold, loved it, wings and pizza was just ok, Hostess definitely not friendly and set the mood the wrong ways!!! Fabulous spot right on the edge of the beach. Interestingly there is a freight train that runs rather close to the outside of the restaurant. Met a friend who lives in Michigan that I met from Chicago. I didn't have the pizza but I had the small antipasto salad with Romain lettuce. It was spectacular! Jessica R. was our server and did a great job. Attentive, flexible to let me have Romain lettuce instead of the premium mix lettuce and and giving us separate checks. She had a great personality. My friend had a salad and enjoyed it. Her daughter and friend had the pizza and loved it. They have been here previously and raves about their pizza. Masks are to be worn even when speaking to the servers which I was glad to see. If I'm back in the area again I would definitely stop by. read more

Gave the business a rough score last time based on the quality of food in delivery, but that wasn't fair of me. I came in with my girlfriend on a Saturday night in the off season and still had a 1.5 hour wait since SB pizza is so popular (for good reason). Went for a walk and came back when we got the text about 45 min later. The service is amazing given how hectic everyone is. The servers are quick with orders and as efficient as I've ever seen. The drinks are great value, quality, and of a great selection. Many local beers along with full bar service on both floors is very nice. The pizza is -you guessed it- amazing fresh. What lacked in crisp, freshness, and overall enjoyment from delivery was gone in the restaurant experience. We had the Whirlpool (supreme) which was great. The toppings aren't extravagant in quality compared to some pizza, but the crust is incredible. 5 stars because it is the best pizza in town by a long shot plus the rest of the package makes this a must-go venue. read more

Silver Beach Pizza is a must stop when in St. Joseph. It's located in an old Amtrak station, cool atmosphere right next to the tracks. Wide variety of pizzas with lots of pizza. The dough is heavenly, thin and crispy. Light on sauce, delicious and so light you can't stop eating it. The salads are also fresh & tasty, went with the southwest salad tonight. The dressing has a slight kick...which goes well with the corn and black beans. Definitely worth coming in, and prices are reasonable. A family of four ate A LOT for $52 total. read more

Absolutely love the pizza at Silver Beach pizza! My family often orders pizza before we leave our home just west of Kalamazoo and pick up pizza for dinner and watch the sunset on the beach! Make sure to order at least an hour ahead in the summer! I ate upstairs in the 21 and over lounge with business colleagues after volunteering a few weeks and it was nice! Our food was great but our server didn't seem to be paying great attention, I understand that he was busy but he got a couple drink orders wrong, otherwise everything else was fabulous! This is a super cute restaurant that looks like it was once a train station. The inside is huge; way bigger than I expected. They have a decent beer selection, and lots of fun pizza toppings to choose from. The wings were excellent but the rest of the food was nothing to write home about. I had the kale salad with chicken which was tasty but there were soooooo many cranberries on it. The pizza is thin crust but the thickness of the dough is somewhere between NY style and pan. The cheese isn't gooey, but more like we'll done, so if you don't like this style of pizza it might not be the restaurant for you. It's just across the street from the carousel, and the fountain, and a short walk to the beach which is awesome but be warned; you can't leave your car there when you go to those attractions. Everyone raves about their pizza but I didn't think it was very good. Mozzarela Cheese like a weird color of yellow, not creamy white as it should be. I had a calzone which was overdone, burnt on the edges. Then they cut it into eight pieces!??? I'm a grown-up I can cut my own food if I want. Probably won't be back. This is my parents, family and friends favorite go to local pizza place. They would take me when I would come into town and now I live here and it is a staple for sharing wonderful memories dining in at sunsets and pickup for football parties and bringing their pizzas for out of towners to try. I have a love/not so love relationship with pizza. It is always good, even it is not, as it a staple in our culture. Everyone usually has to deal with my being a veggie pizza orderer and them loving the more carnivore options. But it has been good here just about each time. (We all know there can be an off night) but I am always looking for more than just cheese and dough and they do deliver on flavor. I am adding to this review to add an extra star as we went for a Saturday date night and have wanted to try the Shrimp Boom pizza. Being a vegetarian, but will sometimes eat seafood (let's admit, sometimes all veggies can get boring) I wanted to try it because I love flavorful sauces and different options to try. We ordered it as is, but requested a little extra baked (not one for soggy pizza) and hands down it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The hubs said the same. I ordered extra sauce on side and it was awesome. Not some bang bang mayo tasting fake sauce. This was extra flavorful and I am sure our dining table neighbors thought we were reinacting a certain scene from When Harry Met Sally. The shrimp was perfect. Flash fried with seasonings, large portions and the toppings were a mix of Italian meets a bit of Asian. The crust has added real shredded Parm baked into the edges. It is hard to explain, but it was so good that ask them to make it the same as they did the night of 12/14/19. We may have noted the date for future date nights. Haha It was light and easy on very fresh and delicious cheese and the fresh veggies on top created a total palate meltdown for us. An hour later we are still raving about it and I have a feeling it will be a "sneak into the kitchen at midnight snack" or just Sunday breakfast. We had a dinner party upstairs when they first opened that area, which is really fun and modern, and had the large really stylish table and that is a great experience for a group From the traditional Sausage and Pepperoni, the Deluxe Veggie, it was all very good. The interior is great, the scenery is great (even at night and well decorated when you can't see the beach) the staff is very friendly, grab a waitlist spot on Yelp because it is pretty busy, even in winter. The drink, bar and beer menus are extensive. The winter specialty drinks are divine.Very unique and a bit strong and so good. I had one, which is probably why I spent the last 20 minutes writing my updated review when we got home. Also always like to recognize good service. We love Silver Beach Pizza and can't leave St. Joe's without stopping here for a late lunch or early dinner. The wait is usually 45min - 2 hours during peak hours, but since we can put our name down 1 hr before, it's easy to plan around beach day and kids aren't waiting forever. Everything on the menu is sooo good! Staff is attentive and accommodating. It's now become tradition every time we visit St. Joe's. read more
