Mongolian beef, veggie chow mein, potstickers, rice

Solid choice for the usual Chinese food fare. Good location, fast service, and decent pricing makes this place an easy last minute meal when we don't feel like cooking. Their Mongolian beef maybe isn't as tender as some other spots in town.

Silver Chopsticks has a been a strong and reliable lunch/dinner spot for years. Their pho broth is light, has a clear and delicate flavor which I enjoy. I really like the wor wonton soup, it's perfect for cold winter evenings. I gotta rave about their handmade potstickers!! My whole family loves them! I haven't seen any other place in town with potstickers like these? They're perfectly chewy and delicious. Twice the size of any traditional potsticker. These are an absolute must for us every time we come here:) Always top notch service! Food is always hot and good.

My husband and I were on our way back to Santa Barbara, CA after visiting family near Reno. I was craving authentic asian food and found this place on Google. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. All staff were so friendly and attentive. My husband got the Vietnamese coffee. It was really good, probably one of the best ones we've had. The food was also delicious! We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town.

The food here was delicious. We got takeout, so didn't get to experience the inside much, but the host was very nice! We ordered the vegetable fried rice and the orange peel beef. It was some of the best Chinese takeout I've had in Reno. Appreciate that they put foil on the food, keeps it warm quite a bit longer. The beef also comes with a side of steamed rice.

This place is a hidden gem. I love it every time i go. It's a simple layout with amazing food. You can dress casual and enjoy amazing food with good service. All the servers and staff are so nice it makes it so worth eating out. I recommend the pho or the salt and pepper pork chops!!

Wonderful food, especially the beef in the Broccoli! Usually the beef in the broccoli is very chewy, but this is one best! My daughter loved the chicken mushroom! My son love his Mongolia beef! We all the pork chow mein and pot stickers! Our drinks were always filled, great service! The restaurant is a nice size and very clean! We will be back!

Dined at this place tonight, reviews were solid. Ordered the Number 3 Pho combo soup and Beef Plate. Spring rolls all lettuce, very little pork and shrimp. Very disappointing. The beef plate was terrible, it was mix between pork and chicken. Almost like they dumped a bottle of Orange Chicken sauce over it. Full of useless vegetables and Bamboo Shoots. PHO was all noodles and little meat; quality terrible. Not authentic Pho at all. Broth lacked flavor. Service was excellent! Food terrible

I miss this place, a staple restaurant when I went to school in reno. I'd always order the veggie pho, so comforting.

I really tried to like this restaurant. The service was good. Place was clean. The problem was the food lacked taste and heat. Hot and sour soup was neither other than being physically hot. Fried rice was dry and kinda uninspired. I had the Mongolian Beef which was pretty good. Eggroll was good. My wife had Sesame Chicken which was ok. Maybe I picked the wrong menu item as I see others rave about the food. Chinese food is very subjective and I prefer either Chicago or east coast variety's. I'll come back and check them out again choosing different menu items. Prices were fair for the lunch specials. Give them a chance as it pretty much is on par with other Chinese food.

I was ready for lunch and Silver Chopsticks was in the strip center with UPS. They offer many entrees but I chose the lunch menu. Smaller portions of house specialities with the bonus of hot and sour or egg drop soup and plain or BBQ pork fried rice. Mongolian beef with BBQ fried rice after the egg drop soup was a nice lunch. Too often beef in dishes is under seasoned and occasionally tough. Not today! The soy sauce and green onions were the perfect complement to the tender sweet and salty beef. I enjoyed the fried rice as well. This restaurant deserves several visits in the evening preferably with a group so we could share and taste more entrees. Looking forward to that soon.

    Chicken Pho

I went to Silver Chopsticks for the first time today because I was really craving pho! I ordered the #7 Chicken Pho and it was very good. It was a large portion with lots of veggies. I had to add some extra hoison to add some more flavor to the broth and the chicken was pretty minimal and low quality but everything else in it was very yummy. My partner ordered the #2 pork vermicelli and he said it was also pretty good but the meat to noodle ratio was way off. I have included some photos below. He asked if he could have some more meat and they said they would have to charge an extra $4 for it which was okay but I think it should've come with more meat. Overall, it was pretty good especially for the price so we will return again!

The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. Even though Kwok's is right across the street from where I live, this restaurant would be at the top of my list of "I would drive out of my way to eat here"

To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

What I didn't expect was the flavors of the dishes. Each one seemed to have an unusual sweetness that didn't feel typical for Taiwanese food. From the Mapo Tofu to the salted fish fried rice and even the Taiwanese popcorn chicken, they all had a noticeable sweetness to them. Maybe I'm a bit spoiled by the variety of Asian food options we have living in the San Francisco Bay Area, but the flavors here just didn't quite match what I usually expect from Chinese/Taiwanese

In case you're not aware, though the name of this restaurant references a specific city in northern China and the menu has dishes from across the country, their specialty is the spicy and numbing cuisine of the Sichuan region. If you've never had this before, when you see dishes listed as spicy, they may be very different from what you're thinking. It's certainly can be a polarizing experience, with many loving this flavor and many not into it at all, but the broad menu makes this a great call for everyone. Now I love dining with others who are familiar because it lets you explore the menu through their eyes and enjoy selections made by others with taste diverse from yours. My friend picked several dishes I would've never noticed or ordered blindly this time, and I'm so happy about that. We enjoyed the cold Woodear or black fungus in chili oil, classic snow pea tips with garlic, as well as the quintessential Sichuan cumin lamb, but the other three dishes we had were 100% new to me. Those included Sichuan snails (unshelled in an oily spicy stir fry), scallops with garlic and vermicelli, and crispy spicy intestines. The snails were a win. These are small and somewhat chewy morsels that get wok fried with fried chili, chili oil, peppers and onions. The texture is similar to sautéed calamari, but a bit firmer, and the sauce coats everything with that signature numbing heat. The scallops were the big miss. This dish typically comes in the half shell with fresh scallops, but here they're using a lower quality scallop (likely frozen) and a lot of pre-minced garlic (like you'd find in a jar). It looks impressive but the scallops had absolutely not flavor and the texture was rubbery too. Skip this one for sure. The intestines were the surprise. I've had fried intestines and they crunch like a chip and have no distinct flavor that lets you know what you're eating. These were sliced on the bias and wok tossed until super crispy on the outside with a delicately chewy interior. The sauce really amplified the flavor and this all made for a great bite within the whole meal. All in all, this is a home run. If you haven't been, I urge you to check it out, as it's one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around.

We started with an appetizer that was a bit dry and tasteless, then moved on to the main courses. I had the shrimp with the fried noodles. The best by far was his friends Szechuan Beef, which would probably have me come back just for that. The restaurant is in a cute little strip mall and the interior was quite cozy and attractive. The service was also a letdown, as there was no friendliness, no smiles, just clinical service. Overall I would say there are many other restaurants I would choose over this, but we had to give it a try. Cheers, JimG

We decided to make it our next date night spot. We went on a Friday around 5:30 and it wasn't very crowded yet. They asked if we preferred a table or a booth, and we went with a booth near the front. The restaurant itself is really nice, but I'll say the booth felt a little tight. Next time, we'll probably go with a table for a bit more space. The service was top notch. The staff was incredibly attentive, and our drinks were constantly refilled. Our glasses were never empty, which always stands out. About 15 minutes after we sat down, the place filled up fast. It seemed like most people coming in had reservations, so I'd definitely recommend making one if you're planning to go after 6 pm. We decided on the Shanghai Dinner. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and my wife got the sweet and sour chicken. I was tempted by the cashew chicken and kung pao chicken, but we'll save those for next time. The appetizers were amazing. The meal comes with spring rolls, crab rangoon, paper wrapped chicken, and honey glazed BBQ spareribs. Everything was delicious. My wife loved the paper wrapped chicken, and for me, the ribs were the standout. They were tender with just the right hint of sweetness. Honestly, I could've eaten a full plate of just those and been happy. For sides, I had the egg flower soup, which was really flavorful, and my wife had the salad. She could not stop talking about how good the dressing was. Both the sweet and sour pork and chicken were great. The sauce had that perfect tangy, slightly sweet flavor. That said, next time we probably won't order the same sauce for both dishes. I think pairing something like sweet and sour with kung pao would give a better balance with a little heat to cut through the sweetness. Overall, this place is a winner. Great food, solid portions, and the price is very reasonable at about $33 per person for the Shanghai Dinner. My wife enjoyed everything so much that after seeing another table order the duck, she's already talking about coming back to try it. I've been trying to get her to try duck for a while, so I'm looking forward to that next visit. We'll definitely be back.
