My first time here, I came in for lunch. The staff were very polite very prompt and had great knowledge of the menu. They had a great variety in the lunch specials. The egg flower soup was amazing usually I have to add pepper or soy sauce but it was very flavorful and needed no additives. I ordered the three flavor with hot garlic sauce. It was really good but I was expecting something more like spicy or a garlic taste. It tasted more like a sweet and sour stir fry which was still good. Wow! With all the Asian restaurants, this place needs help. To many shortcuts. Not sure what the cook did before becoming a cook for this restaurant. The best item we had for dinner was the hot & sour soup. After that, it was all downhill. Our sweet & sour shrimp was huge on the outside but inside, it was a small shrimp cut into tiny strips so when you ate it, the shrimp was so over cooked, it was tough and no flavor. As for the fried rice, greasy and the house special chow mein, it was lacking flavor. not counting the soy sauce flavor because everything else seemed to have soy sauce flavors. service was great as there were more workers than customers. maybe it was saturday night for dinner. hmmmmm. they just opened recently and if they want to stay in business, they got to take a look/taste of their own meals. we won't be going back there again. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for almost 2 years and my experience tonight alone has changed my opinion. I usually order a shrimp dish and the shrimp is always cooked very well. I am discouraged by the customer service that has been going downhill. Tonight Mike has succeeded in losing a customer for this business. If Mike has anything to do with the success of this restaurant they are definitely doomed. This could be a coaching experience and I will consider coming back once I understand Mike's position. In the meantime he could learn how to be humble, how to deal with customer complaints appropriately and he could learn his menu. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. My boyfriend and I have made this our Friday night date spot. And by Friday night, I mean EVERY Friday. We seriously would come here every day if we could. Our favorite meals are the salt and pepper short ribs (unbelievably good), curry chicken, chicken chow mien, and pho (of any variety). They have great veggie-options in addition to meat and poultry. Portion sizes are plentiful and the staff couldn't be friendlier. In fact, the first time I ordered pho I ate more of the broth then I had intended to. I asked to take the rest to-go and when the waiter brought my doggie bag, he told me he had refilled my broth - so awesome! Decent pho... I had the combination beef pho. There really could have been more meat and the tendon was dry and overly chewy to my taste. Served quickly with water upon request. As it was 3pm, I had the dining room to myself and watched as the waitress went over the menu quite chattily, with some take-out order. She even offered the lunch special which she allowed the customer at 5 minutes to 3pm, when they stop service to lunch patrons. In the Save Mart shopping center next to the Flowing Tide restaurant. Ordered take-out for the first time last night and everything was great! We ordered the paper-wrapped chicken (really flavorful and moist), the crab rangoon (they were fine - I would have preferred more filling as it was really mostly won-ton), the cashew chicken (lots of fresh veggies!) and the crispy orange peel beef (great flavor!). All in all we thought everything tasted really fresh. We look forward to trying more of the Vietnamese side of the menu. read more

My favorite by far in the Reno Pho game. I think all the Vietnamese options on the menu are on point (The Pho, Bahn Mi sandwich, and the Charbroiled Pork options). The service and prices are ok. Got some pad thai to go and was kind of disappointed when I got home. The portions were big but there was no flavor and the noodles weren't cooked well enough. We ordered take out.. spring rolls and beef pho. The chicken, shrimp, and beef all tasted old and dry. The chicken and beef were discolored and looked gross. We called back and both the woman who took our order and management were very argumentative and unreasonable. They wanted us to drive back across town to show them the food. Pretty typical place to get take out chinese... nothing too special about it. On a bad note i ordered a salad with my lunch order and the salad smelled funny and the 3 small slices of chicken on top tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a week. We came here for my son's birthday. I ordered the rare beef and well done flank steak pho. Very generous portion, as pho generally is. Veggies were fresh. It was pretty good, I have no particular complaints about the broth, but I have had better (I miss Saigon 88 in Sparks! That was THE best.) It was nice that they had a large menu, with opinionated kids. One son had the chicken noodle pho, he liked it, and there were several other vegetables in the soup like broccoli. It must have been seasoned well because he ate it without a single complaint. The other son had lemon chicken. There was no kid's menu or smaller portion, so it was quite huge for a kid, at least it reheats well. Overall the whole meal was reasonably priced and everyone was happy, we will be back. read more
