This location is a welcomed addition to the National Harbor. It has plenty of seating including a bar and an outdoor dining area. Visited twice for breakfast (during peak and non-peak times). During peak times there may be a wait for a table and they DO NOT take reservations. So a weekend visit definitely requires patience. Once seated you won't be disappointed. The menu consists of a variety of food options including plant-based, vegetarian/vegan, and gluten-free options. Even those with selective palates won't be disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their food including the pancakes, French toast, corned beef hash, grits and plant-based breakfast tacos. On both visits the service was outstanding. Whether two people or a small group the servers were attentive and downright nice. Now y'all know in this area that's a ++. Ravenous and roaming this pop-up town early means only a few choices for breakfast, and Silver Diner has what you'd expect to cure that morning craving. Happy servers bring hot coffee, and now it's just a decision of meat and carbs. Today the breakfast hash was looking good, and it was filling with that added biscuit. Throw in orange juice and my mom will be proud of my Vitamin C intake. Good overall was delicious. I got a western Omlette and chocolate chip pancakes to share: make sure you order real maple syrup (it's a $2.99 up charge but the regular syrup they serve is just sugar water). The food overall was really good, the service was just lacking. It was a nice place to have breakfast with friends though. We sat outside, with heaters on a spring day. The view is beautiful. Usually a go-to choice after a drunken night out but also the perfect choice for fuel during a quick DC weekend visit and before a long day supporting a walk for a good cause. Came around 7am and it was already pretty busy with working folks grabbing their fuel for the morning. Few tables occupied and fairly calm and quiet for the breakfast rush. Silver Diner is a classic and must go at the National Harbor. 100/10 would recommend, the eggs were fresh, potato well seasoned, meat choice well grilled and the sourdough toast was the perfect pairing. This is more a mix of bar and diner, but the service and consistency of food makes it well worth a stop. The wings are dry and overpriced. The milkshakes are thick and amazing. Stick to the diner basics and you'll get exactly what you want! Place was clean and memorably positive waitstaff even on a slow late frigid evening. This diner is very spacious and from what I could see very clean and nicely decorated. The menu was super extensive! Like how are some of these diner items?? Anyway, the food was good but the service was very slow. Had to wait on everything I asked for. I understand that most restaurants are short-staffed so I was patient but being that I was sitting on the patio and the weather was changing into the crisp Fall season my food and coffee suffered as I waited for my condiments and additional asks. Then my friend went back to grab a late night salad and was disappointed she was not given her salad dressing. Looking for a good breakfast place outside of the hotel, I found this gem. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating options. The counter has an old school Denny's vibe, but more local flair. I was promptly waited on. The coffee was hot and the mug huge. The menu contains fresh ingredients that you can truly taste. My breakfast was absolutely amazing. Eggs cooked to perfection (I prefer over easy). The steak was crisp but the meat was moist and tender... The biscuit is the star- light, buttery yet held up to gravy. I love Silver Diner and have been to multiple locations. But the National Harbor location has been a complete disappointment. I ordered the Power Breakfast which I absolutely loved at the Springfield location, but at National Harbor they didn't cook the Power Breakfast properly. The mushrooms weren't cooked all the way and they merely fixed the vegetables separately and threw them on top of egg whites. The wait staff was hesitant to advocate for me when I requested that it be prepared again. I had to wait over 10 minutes for the recooked food, which everyone else had already finished eating. But when it came back out it looked proper with vegetables fully cooked and scrambled WITH the egg whites. Due to the delay in food, I asked for a manager who said he would talk to the kitchen, but never returned to speak to me because he was "helping another guest", but what about me sir...I was the guest you were helping first. Very disappointed in this experience and the fact that there is no jukebox at the tables, which is what makes Silver Diner unique and special. Lesson is...if you want a good Silver Diner go to the one in Springfield, VA instead. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day they had outside seating however it was full so we seated by the windows to get a view. They have all day breakfast menu, which we chose from. They have a really extensive menu which I did not expect. All the food passing by smelled really good. Our server was exceptional and made sure we were well taken care of. I'm here in DC for few days and my hotel staff recommended Silver Dinner. My partner and I had steak and egg hanger and OMG the steak cooked to perfection, we also had bread pudding. Hey, this is my first time going to the Silver diner in a long time. I mean, I haven't been to the Silver diner since like high school. This is most definitely my first time ever been at this location. When I was younger, we would go to the original location in Rockville however, I was in the mood for breakfast and decided to stop on. Let me give prop to my server and the greeter they both were extremely professional and provide service with a smile. The server was actually super attentive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. As for the food, if you check out my pictures, I had to taste a couple of things I tried the red white and blue French toast. I also tried the caramel French toast. I had the crab egg Benedict had some regular eggs and the turkey bacon. First of the crab egg Benedict was tasty. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it did the job. Red white and blue French toast was a French toast cover with with fruit, candied pecans and had sweet cream cheese in the middle covered with chocolate drizzle I would say that this French toast was just mid. The caramel French toast, I would say was way more tastier than the red white and blue French toast. I use the syrup from this one to save the red white and blue. The eggs were eggs, and the turkey bacon was mid. Overall, my experience was decent. The food is what you would expect from a diner. Nothing much to write home about. I did enjoy my meal and I made sure to Tip my survey she did an excellent job. Would I come back of course, but this wouldn't be one of my first choices as it is a bit more pricier than I would expect at a diner maybe it's the national Harbor rates nevertheless it was a bit pricey. Now it's time for the good the bad and the ugly about this place . The good - the customer service was on point. I appreciate it my server. We came here because it was the only place still servicing food at midnight in the Harbor on a weekday. We were excited because the reviews were super good but I'd have to say that overall I was disappointed with the food. The Brussel sprouts weren't great unless you dipped them in the sauce. The hummus tasted like it was from the grocery store and the pita bread wasn't great. However, the Nutella milkshake was AMAZING! My rule of thumb is this : If I can take the time to 1. be seated, 2. read your menu, 3. debate on what I want, and 4. decide what I want to order - you're too late. This isn't you dad's diner! Imagine elevated diner favorites thanks to the farm to table seasonal menu. Even the kids menu kicked things up a notch, my kiddo loved the bison sliders. We were at the National Harbor for a weekend and manage to visit 3 times. Each time I order something different and was pleasantly pleased with each dish and found the prices to be reasonable. There was little to no wait since we went during non peak hours. That being said this is good I'm ok with waiting for even during busier times. read more

Wanted to eat here as I was looking over their menu and saw that they had an eggs benedict dish. I have never tried it before and I was excited to come eat here. I stopped by with friends to eat brunch here. It was about a 30 min wait. Convention was happening nearby so it was crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got our table and ordered right away. The food and drinks came out pretty quick. The quinoa pancakes were unique but still tasty with nuts, blueberries, strawberries and bananas with a side or mixed fruits. The home fries were made perfectly, soft with just the right amount of seasonings. The guava mint drink was amazing. I have to get more if this or make it myself as it was a drink to keep drinking. The salmon I had was absolutely delicious the vegetables tasted so fresh, proof that they do source from good places. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and will put a smile on your face. The brownie desert which I did not want but it was warm and with the ice cream and whip cream, damn it was so decadent. They have many options including vegetarian and gluten free. Service is there, even when packed. Food is good. Vibe is nice. Ask for crispy wings and they delivered. My only miss was they have drink specials. I will be back very soon! Today was my grandmothers 81st birthday. She lives on the National Harbor and had plans to meet a friend for her birthday at silver diner. I decided to pick up my mom and go over to the Harbor to surprise my grandmother with birthday flowers. We gave her a ride to the Silver diner to meet her friend, as my grandmother is completely blind. Her friend had some car trouble and had to cancel. Since we're already there we decided to join her for lunch. We were seated immediately, in Agent's section. Agent was very personable and attentive! He was by far one of the best servers I've had the pleasure of experiencing. His attitude was top notch. No exaggeration!! We enjoyed our meals, especially my grandmother who is often a picky eater. Had breakfast here at the Silver Diner National Harbor MD. I had the basic breakfast of scrambles eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast. My wife had the same thing, except she had chicken sausage and sourdough toast. Our waitress (Amerya) was very patient with us and very knowledgable about the menu. The hostess that took us to our seat was also nice. I spoke with the manager before we left and he was professional as well. Hats off to this team and to the manager for running an excellent restaurant. I hope you stay around for many year to come. We will see you again soon.
