We recently went to Silver Dragon for lunch. It used to be a local favorite and was really good and always packed, but I haven't been there for a few years. I was really disappointed. It has changed a lot and not for the better. The place was dark, only one other customer The waitress was nice enough, but not very attentive Each dish came out only after getting her attention to remind her of each thing we ordered. The House Chow Mein, which used to be our favorite dish was horrible; nothing but rice noodles and very little sauce, hardly recognizable from the way it used to be. The Mar Far Chicken was good They had "Double Pork Fried Rice" and I asked what that was and she said its just more of what they put in it. When it came it was just what I consider normal fried rice; the way it should be and used to be. To top it off she forgot our cookies at the end and we had to ask. I'm so glad there are other places to go that are decent. It was really sad though. read more

Waited half an hour for the wrong order. Just assumed it would be right because I ordered it on grub hub but when I got home it was the completely wrong order. I understand Christmas is a busy day for Chinese restaurants but some of the staff were rude and were bickering with each other right in front of customers. Won't be coming back. read more

*EDIT* even though they were extremely unprofessional about it, we walked into the restaurant and they apologized immediately and gave us the rest of our food. They had written the wrong thing down, and compensated us. Thank you, Silver Dragon. Missing 3/4 of our order, and they're refusing to take responsibility for it or make up for it in any way. Please save money and time and choose some place like Yummy Yans. We ordered the combination that had sweet and sour pork, marfar chicken, egg rolls, fried rice, and chow mein, and friend shrimp. Brought it home and saw that we only had marfar, fried rice, some vegetable dish, and had no egg rolls, no chow mein, no sweet and sour pork, no shrimp. $45 for marfar and rice and veggies for 4 people. We called and asked them if they forgot anything, and they said "no that's how the order is" and that even though their online menu explicitly said it did, it apparently doesn't. The people we spoke to on the phone were extremely rude, too. Super disappointed. read more

I am extremely upset with my first, and now to be only experience with silver dragon. I ordered shrimp and pork egg rolls over the phone. When I went to pick up they had forgotten my egg rolls so I had to turn around and head back - into to find out that they never even ordered them. So I waited for them to make them so I could be on my way. When I arrived home I found it they gave me vegetable egg rolls. I called them so they could issue me a refund which the refused unless I returned the egg rolls that I had bitten into!!! I live in Eagle point -I drove 20 minutes to pick up my food- there was no way I was going to drive 20 minutes back to return it for my $6.50. I will not be returning. Check your food! In fact you better bite into egg rolls before you're home because they will not issue you a refund unless YOU return it. What a joke. read more

I Ordered Take out for me and my family we had 3 orders of mar far chicken and pork fried rice , one bowl of egg flour soup and order of appetizers ,an order of beef chow mein ,and chicken chow mein I had just heard that werewolves of london song earlier in the day and was craving some anyway all of the food was fantastic the soup was some of the best around we all split the appetizers I love the pork fried rice and mar far chicken especially with the shrimp sauce/pink sauce a regional favorite we only have around here i've been up in salem and they had some of the best mar far chicken around but without the shrimp sauce it was lacking I know kims invented mar far chicken and shrimp sauce too if you want to try the real deal silver dragon is continuing the legacy of excellence. read more

As difficult as it may be to say, Silver Dragon has fallen drastically in quality in the last 6 months. The Hot and Sour Soup is neither, and the entrees don't have the same flavor. If this is due to new cooks, they need retraining. Flavor is lacking in everything I had on September 7. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CHICKEN ALLERGIES!!! My mom has been VIOLENTLY ill for over four days! She told the people at the restaurant that she was allergic to chicken. There were CHUCKLES in the restaurant and an employee behind the counter went "Yeah, right. Nobody's allergic to chicken." Are these people STUPID? Then, the plate is brought to my mom. My mom asks the server woman about my dad's food since she can't tell if his plate has beef or chicken on it. The server woman says "it has chicken on it, but who could tell?" Well, my mom could. She has been so sick we had to take her to hospital. She's been vomiting constantly for three days and shitting her guts out when she's not throwing up. I don't think any more needs to be said here aside from this: we've been coming here since I was FIVE. I'm 26. So, that's over 20 years of faithful, loyal business. In that ENTIRE TIME nothing like this EVER HAPPENED. And in one bad, careless, totally harmful experience, they have humiliated and damaged my mom. She doesn't want to eat out ever again because of this experience at this restaurant. I can't even buy her lunch at the moment. So, I guess what I'm saying is, a few thoughtless actions cost my mom her health, and this business their customers. We're a family of four and we order $60 + meals regularly. Or, at least we did. Have been coming here for years and over time the quality of the food has declined. Ordered a family style dinner tonight and it was flavorless. Plain and bland. Asked for extra sauce only to get home and find 1 tiny 1oz pink sauce which was only enough for barely a tsp each person. Shrimp batter was undercooked, szechwan chicken had zero spice or flavor, noodles the same. Spent $65 on dinner that was barely edible. Total disappointment and sadly won't be coming back. read more

One of our entrees was forgotten along with its white rice, so I went back and asked for them and they requested to see my food, so I had to bring it back in the pouring rain. We ordered chicken chow mein and egg rolls last night and it was terrible. Some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had! They only gave us 3 egg rolls and there was no hot mustard in the bag when we got it home. Chow mein was horrible. There were no noodles! And it was in a nasty light sauce. We had been eating at the Silver Dragon for years and could always count on them to deliver bland but decent Chinese fare. NO MORE! Today we ordered, to go, a 'Special Fried Rice' but the waitress told her that the 'House Fried Rice' had more vegetables in it. So we ordered that. We also ordered the Mar Far chicken. Later after getting home I didn't find either rice item on their menu but the worst was that the Fried Rice we received was absolutely the worse tasting dish I've had at any Chinese restaurant. The Mar Far chicken was bland, as usual. Why the Silver Dragon was voted as the best Chinese restaurant in Southern Oregon lends me to believe that So. Oregonians have their taste buds on the bottom of their shoes! Best, BAH!! In the defense of the SD they said they had just hired two new waitresses. How that could affect the food quality is beyond me. But they must believe it does. The person in front of me had their phone in order messed up. Silver dragon has been my go to since I was young! I spent half of my birthdays in my life at this place! The egg flower soup is definitely my favorite out of anywhere I've been in 3 states! We have a large family of 10 at home so I order the dinner A for 4. Which feeds all 10 of us at least twice if not more! The dinner A comes with mar far chicken, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, fried shrimp, sweet and sour pork, egg rolls and Chinese pork along with the soup! Very disappointed with the food and service. Heard this place was supposed to be good thru the local Medford newspaper. Went for lunch and ordered sweet and sour pork, general Taos chicken, and pork chow fun. The first two dishes were heavily battered, deep fried chunks of pork/ chicken with what appeared to be a jarred or canned sauce poured on top. No bell pepper,onions or pineapple as you would normally see in sweet and sour pork. The chow fun was fair at best, at least a few vegetables were found in the dish. A cup of hot and sour soup was included with this lunch and it was just a gelatinous mess that had a hint of rust in the flavor to me. The other two folks I was dinning with didn't touch much of this soup either. Wait staff were nice but not great at service and it was not very busy. I would advise folks to search out another Chinese restaurant instead of this one. read more
