Anniversary Dinner The presentation of the food was sloppy. I had to ask the waiter more than once for bread and their horseradish pickles. Felt like I was just being ignored. If you ever decide to reserve a table, call ahead to inquire if Ron will be stewarding. The service from Ron brought the night to a 10/10. While the atmosphere/ambiance was a bit loud for my taste, but I have sensitive ears. Dinner started off with a sampler of appetizers; a shrimp cocktail, scallop, and Texas blue crab cake. Out of the three the crab cake was my favorite. I was accompanied by a friend that had the "three forks salad" she opted out of having the Danish bleu cheese. She stated, "it was delightful". Main course was filet mignon and honey glazed Atlantic salmon. The filet was cooked to request, with a side of mashed potatoes. If considering the salmon, give it a try, the broccolini is a must. We also had the roasted mushrooms to share, as someone who is not a fan of mushrooms, they were actually delicious and I would get them again. Ended the night with the seasonal tangerine cake and crème brulee. Always recommend seasonal desserts! Overall, a recommended place for dates, celebrations, anniversaries or a night out. We were taken here for our anniversary on the 26th of December along with my parents in-law for their anniversary. The staff was quick and attentive. Knowledgeable about the menu and the wine selection. We were visited several time by the manager to see that our meal and experience were up to expectations. The steak was fantastic, very well seasoned. Honestly one of the best I've ever had. A bourbon infused salt was available for some entrees and it made for exciting dining as it was delivered flaming. The servers were masked and wearing gloves the entire time and the tables were spaced out appropriately. They have several house cocktails available and also some of the classics as well as a full wine list. Deserts were provided to us family style and we were given larger portions because we were sharing. Finally we were presented with a card signed by the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. Our group of 6 had a reservation at 7:30 on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. I arrived shortly after 7 & the hostess (who was very nice) grabbed 6 menus and attempted to escort me to the table. There was no table for 6, and it was discovered that somehow a table of 2 had sat themselves and was served which was hindering the ability to be able to setup a 6 top table for our reservation. The table of 2 was finished with their dinner at this point, however, we were walked back to the front where we proceeded to wait for roughly 45 minutes. At no point did anyone tell the table that there was a reservation, etc (again - they were just sitting there having conversation and their meal was done). Once we were finally sat, our server was very short and rude. He even acknowledged that he saw us standing at the front "for over 30 minutes" (verbatim) so you would think he would have gone out of his way to try and make the experience pleasant from that point on. When we ordered appetizers, I had ordered calamari and in a very condescending tone he said "calamari is an appetizer, it's not an entree, it's an appetizer so it would come out first" as if I didn't know what calamari or an appetizer was. My friend and I asked to split the 8 oz filet + 8 oz lobster tail and were met with a deep sigh and "well how many checks do we need for this table?" & we said 1 check is fine. He then explained that it would be hard to split if it was several checks (which we JUST confirmed 1 check was fine) and he then said "I'll just bring you an extra plate and you can split it yourself at the table". Ok so what was the point of the "how many checks?" Question if you were never going to accommodate the request? It was never about splitting costs, it's a large meal and we simply wanted to split the entree because 4 oz filet + 4 oz lobster is a perfect size serving for us. We ordered sides that never came, so I ultimately told him "never mind on the creamed corn" (the table was nearly done eating) and he said "are you sure?".. yes. I'm sure. Why would I want to eat a side AFTER the meal is consumed? He brought the wrong drink from the bar for my husband, my husband never complained - I had asked him to confirm it was MAKERS on the 2nd round (whiskey) and not scotch which is what my husband had gotten earlier. (Never sent it back, didn't say anything at all!) and the waiter seemed irritated by HIS mistake. No apology. We cut our steaks with butter knives (he made sure to tell us he was in the back washing steak knives) & even though he asked if there was any occasion being celebrated when we sat down and we told him it was a birthday - there was nothing special. My friend ordered a crème brûlée and he comped an additional one, but we didn't eat it. A comped appetizer or a birthday dessert without having to order one would have been nice for the 45 minutes we had to stand and wait for the table. The food wasn't bad, but the service was sub par at best and for that - I will not be back. Also - our $700+ tab was paid one ONE tab, and our waiter was still tipped as if he provided good service. I had high hopes for this restaurant but it ended up being a very disappointing experience. We had a reservation for 6 at 7:30, we showed up at about 7:15. We were then told that someone came in and sat down at a table and they began getting served. And somehow that was supposed to be our table. We waited for 45 minutes with nothing more than an apology offered for the inconvenience. The service was honestly some of the worst I've experienced, especially at an establishment this nice. The waiter was very rude when he got the impression we would need separate checks (which we did not). We sat down and didn't even get any ice waters. I asked for some water and he literally brought one cup out obviously very bothered like that was asking so much of him and he was very put out. So then I asked okay can I have 5 more waters for the table? He proceeded to tell us he was in the back washing steak knives- which is why we had to use butter knives to cut our steak and lobster. I gave 2 stars for the steak only. It was great and cooked perfectly. The sides were luke warm at best and the grilled asparagus was thrown in the grill maybe 5 seconds- it would have tasted the same raw. Sadly, I would never go back to this place. Our tab was extremely expensive for the service and food provided. I wouldn't go back to a low end place that provided this type of service, let alone, an upscale restaurant that should hold themselves to a higher standard. read more

I decided to give Silver Fox a try as I wa working late nearby. I was not disappointed. The hostess was extremely nice and polite chatting with me until my table was ready and even giving me a preview of the wine list. My waiter, Bobby, was great. I never saw him except for the exact moment I needed something and he showed up with it right before I asked. It was like he was in my head. I tried the Mozzarella and tomato salad and it was delicious. One of my favorites. Thick sliced tomatoes and nice thick slices of mozzarella drizzled in olive oil and balsamic garnished nicely with basil. For dinner I had the fillet "silver fox style" and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare with a hot red center. I enjoyed every bite. It came with potatoes and sugar snap peas which I ate every bite of those as well. Definitely on of the better steaks I have had in a while. The atmosphere was very nice with a warm Romantic feeling (Definitely a place I would like to bring my wife on a future trip). The attire is business casual, I'm assuming they are ok with jeans on Friday because I had that with a nice blouse. The atmosphere is very nice but, slightly stuffy. We started with the Ahi tuna and it was actually very good! The flavor of the drizzle and the tuna just blended really well. I ordered the 12oz N.Y. steak. All steak dishes come with mashed potatoes, snow peas, tomato and green onion. I ordered it medium well and it was cooked to perfection! I was very pleased with it. It was juicy and the other side items were good. My boyfriend ordered the 18oz prime ribeye, medium rare. It was really juicy and had so much flavor! I was a little jealous I didn't get mine this way. Dessert was cheesecake with pecan Carmel drizzle It was delicious! The caramel tastes like Mexican caramel/cajeta. We finished it. The Silver Fox is obviously not for everyone (judging by the other reviews) but it is certainly special. The atmosphere is not sexy or posh but classic and warm. No, the bread is not garlic bread, not cheezy jalapeno cheddar whatever-biscuits, its just plain white bread. GOOD plain white bread. Our table ordered some sides and salads to start. The creamed corn was the table's favorite, although I also like the richness and tang of the mac n' cheese. I wouldn't suggest ordering a salad here if you are not a salad person. Salads should have a few really good ingredients and nothing more. I will say that whoever dressed my III Forks salad was heavy handed. Instead I would suggest their crab bisque- you're not wasting precious space on this dish trust me! And finally to the meat. We all ordered the petite fillet, or what I can honestly call the best steak I've ever had. It was served with hot snap peas and mashed potatoes. No bells and whistles needed when the food is simply amazing. I really respect this restaurant more than anything. The service and food is unique but original. My wife and I come three or four times a year. We are never disappointed by the restaurant. Occasionally the other people at the restaurant are dressed in shorts or ratty jeans/shirts, but there is nothing to be done about that (without going out of business). Steaks here definitely have that first class streak house taste. Lobster bisque is fantastic. We alternate between the 3 Forks salad and the Silver fox salad. Both are tasty. The fact that the steaks come with sides rather than getting sides al la cart makes the bill more reasonable. If you live on the East side of Richardson/Plano or in Murphy/Wylie/Sachse/Garland there is no place to have a fine steak in a real steak house setting. The real difference here is the owner is here every night--cooking and watching the quality. This is his only restaurant. He usually makes the rounds around the tables --nice fellow. Tonight my wife, mother-in-Law and I went to a steak house and officially ordered nothing but SEAFOOD. I had the off-menu blackened red snapper feature. It was EXCELLENT! I'd put that dish up against any seafood dish in town. I'd recommend that all night long! Summer had the sea bass. Mom had the scallops. We all loved it. We started with a shrimp cocktail and I had the tomato mozzarella salad. The salad was delicious too: two thick slices of tomato with even thicker slices of mozzarella, olive oil, basil, balsamic glaze with a field green leaf garnish. It was very nice. I got the filet with Oscar & I've never had a better meal in my life! The steak was perfect, Oscar is a addition that had blue crab & asparagus, side of mash potatoes, snap peas - soooo good! My husband got the baseball cut steak & he was done so quickly lol his also came with mash potatoes & snap peas. We got their macaroni & cheese with Gouda to share & that was also soooo good! We finished we a complimentary chocolate cake since it was our anniversary the manager so kindly gave it to us on the house & MANNNNNN OH MANNNN - the cake seriously tasted like it was a pillow so soft & yummy! I used to love silverfox as I visited the grapevine location many times. My bf wanted to take me to a nice dinner so we decided to come to this location. Overall everything was just okay and at that price a real bummer. Now, our server was great and didn't rush us and just had a nice calming presence. The shrimp cocktail was tasty, lobster bisque was meh (little fishy), bf's NY strip had a TON of fat, which is to not be expected on a strip and my ribeye was good but just okay, again not anything mind blowing. First time dinning in, have ordered to go a few times and drank at the bar while waiting for order. Always wanted to dine in. My mom came to visit and thought good time to take the family. Started with the Calamari which was light and tasty highly recommend. Had the French onion soup and delmonico ribeye, medium. Soup was great, steak had great flavor and very tasty but was a little over cooked to my liking. Service was horrible and slow, Stella was warm. I had dinner here last night because I had a $50 gift certificate from the manager from a previous off night several weeks ago and I wanted to give it another try. Started with the 3forks salad which was excellent. I ordered an 8oz fillet mignon done medium rare+ and also had a side order of their excellent brussel sprouts sriracha. The fillet was cooked perfectly for me but was a little bit chewy and not really the best fillet I have ever had. I would give it zero stars if I could. Rude employees from the hostess to the waiters. Unless you enjoy throwing money away at nominal food and awful service. I can see why people complain about the rude staff. I've never been to a restaurant where the hostess makes absolutely no eye contact. Please don't look at me like I'm a burden to your day when I'm going to spend money in your establishment. The menu doesn't have any descriptions on what is in the dish except for the steak weights. So with that being said you would think that the wait staff would be helpful and provide suggestions. That did not happen. My waitress came to take my order, bring my food, and drop off the check. No suggestions on more filling plates, no wine selections I mean I would've rather had a waiter try to up sell me on dishes and wine than one that was an order taker. The food is grossly overpriced. I cannot express that enough. I got the seafood medley as an entree, hearing the items I came with it would suggest that it was enough to share. The crab cake was cold, the scallop was over cooked and the shrimp was drowned in sauce and rubbery. I can go on and on about how subpar this place was and will if anyone asks. My advice if you are in Dallas.... Just skip this place. You'll get better food at Outback, Perry's or almost anywhere else and a much friendly atmosphere. My advice to the managers/owners teach your employees to act like they value the people that go to your establishment. If you insist on price gouging on nominal food you can at least have a knowledgeable and friendly staff. For god's sake McDonalds greets you when you come in and it's a sad day when I leave feeling like I just got robbed. Third time is a charm. I've been to the Silver Fox twice in the last few years and it was terrible. The meat cuts were poor and they had no seasoning whatsoever. Basically tasteless. I'd had better at the Saltgrass Steakhouse. I received a $100 gift certificate from a fellow employee at Christmas (I know, it's been a while) and so I decided to give it another try. Much to my surprise, things were much better. We were there at 6:30 on a Wednesday night and had the place pretty much to ourselves. The bread was fresh and warm. I had a bowl of lobster bisque which I really enjoyed. There were actually some decent lumps of lobster in there that I could find without a microscope. My wife and I both had the 6 oz filet mignon which came with mashed potatoes and snap peas. The sides were delicious. Note that the mashed potatoes are skin on. I also had the Silver Fox topping which is blue cheese, garlic and red wine shallot sauce. Also great. The steaks were done right and had a very good flavor. For dessert we both had the creme brulee. It came covered in lots of fruit. It was creamy and rich. The tops were done well and not burnt. Finally, we had three lemon drop martinis between the two of us which were excellent. We chatted with the new manager who had only been there a few weeks. I think they're trying to bring this location up to a new level. So why only four stars? It was expensive. I listed what we had so you could get sense of what was on the bill. The meal and tip for the two of us was right at $200. That's on the high end of the market for Dallas steakhouses. If you're a business person, have your vendor take you there. It's quiet with good food and service. Just make sure the vendor pays for it:-) read more

I still (for the life of me) cannot figure out how people expect to get the BEST food, BEST service for the CHEAPEST PRICE.
