So I've only been here one time, it was a date night with my wife, we ordered appetizers. Pizza and shrimp tacos with beer. The service was great food came out piping hot and drinks were ice cold . Very surprised by the quality and taste of the food here. My boyfriend and I roamed around 2nd street, but many of the restaurants had long waits. Finally, we decided to give Simmzy's a try. No wait-- score! We ordered the bacon blue deluxe burger and tuna burger. The bacon blue burger was cooked perfectly at medium rare, and it was well dressed and seasoned. The crumbled pieces of bacon gave it the perfect crisp with each bite. My boyfriend's tuna burger was also cooked well. We entered this eatery on December 29, 2024 and were seated in a short 3 minutes after they kindly rearranged two tables to fit our party. Truly remarkable efficiency and hospitality. The menu, beautiful and easy to read with a wide selection of drinks, appetizers and meals for any craving. Our waitress, Lauren, was a beautifully kind woman who clearly loves her job. Upon complimenting her earrings, I was given a compliment in return, which made me feel as if I was more than a guest. She was efficient in refilling my water whenever I was short and very eager to assure our party was having a delightful time. Because of her the experience was enlightened. Please give her a raise. We ordered 3 appetizers. The 15 minute (but worth the wait) buffalo wings, the Simmzy's signature nachos and of course, the carne asada fries. Every piece was a masterpiece, the work of a chef so dedicated to presentation and taste. -The nachos, crisp and delicate, every topping perfectly portioned upon them, seasoned perfectly as if it were kisses of an angel. The shrimp that was atop this plate of miraculous construction, seemed to be blessed by Poseidon himself. -The buffalo wings, golden and crisp, with a buffalo sauce ever so savory and succulent, with the perfect spice like that of a life's times experience of craftsmanship. The dressing alongside was a blue cheese delicacy. Perfect consistency and a flavor so rich and incredibly complementary of the wings. There was never a better duo. -And finally, the carne asada fries. My. God. The pile of perfect shoe string fries resembled a mountain, ready to be explored. My review here is based mostly on staff. When we arrived there was no one in sight. We waited to be seated but ended up sitting at the bar since no one came. We figured that eating at the bar we'd get faster service. After waiting another 5 minutes a gal with short hair came and walked by us. No greeting, she basically looked like she just woke up. We then asked for wings as she walked by since she really didn't care to ask. Afterwards, a male bartender arrived and he almost had the same type of vibe. As the night went on, we flagged the male to request for food. We got our food and it was delicious and he then became more attentive. Message to management- we were there for at least an hour. You had a total of 3 people working the floor. 1 bartender , 1 lazy female with short hair that talked the entire time and helped no one. I believe she may have served water to two tables and the third female with long hair who seemed to be working alone. This is the type of service I dislike and will not return. It's unfortunate that as a manager you allow this to happen. It is unfair for one person to do all the work while the other female decides to be lazy. Not ok!!! What ultimately sold the deal however, was Simmzy's charming brick and mortar indoor/outdoor dining environment We ordered an Agua Fresca and Lokelani Rose for drinks as well as the 15-Minute Wings to start us off. As for entrees, we decided on the Hawaiian Tuna Poke Bowl and California Chicken Sandwich. Though our drinks were a bit underwhelming, the 15-Minute Wings were incredibly well flavored and mouthwatering. Unfortunately, the wings were just about the highlight of our meal as my girlfriend's chicken patty was burnt on one side leaving only about half of the sandwich to be desired. Though the poke bowl arrived in true aesthetic form, I was quickly reminded not to judge a book by it's cover as the sauce was WAY too heavy and overpowering tainting the ball of rice centered in the middle of the bowl. I too was dissatisfied with my meal, eating only the cubes of ahi tuna and leaving much of the rest of bowl. Overall, the indoor/outdoor environment served as a lovely lunch experience however, the food seems to be hit or miss. Had reservations for four adults and one child on Friday evening at 7pm and place was lively. The front desk checked us in and only waited for 5 minutes. Waiter came and took our drinks order. After receiving our dinks, we ordered out food. I ordered poke bowl with the sauce on the side! The tuna was fresh along with the onions, scallions, ginger, rice . Then I added the sauce and knew it was very tasty. The rest of the family enjoyed their pizzas, wings, and burgers. I've glad tip the waiter 22%. Oh the parking was on the street a few blocks. This is a super late post for me. I love Simmzy's and I am still sad that the one close to me (Burbank) closed. My wife, son and I were out in Long Beach for Saint Baldricks, it's a fundraiser for cancer research. I have to say from start to finish our visit was absolutely perfect. Jennifer was awesome! She was incredibly friendly, welcoming and fast! We never had to look for her and my drink was never empty. The food was great! I highly recommend the eggs Benedict pizza!!!! Ps. This place was recommended by a friend of mine. I love places that allow reservations, even if I have to call because we were a large party. We came in on a Sunday for brunch. There were 10 of us celebrating my fiancés birthday. Our server was super nice, I wish I remembered his name. He brought us all water and was very attentive to us even though we were a large party. I got the Rosa margarita which was amazing. It has a lime foam on top which was different but delicious since it complimented the margarita. For my entree, I got the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, it came with ranch. My friend got it with regular fries and those came with a garlic aioli. She didn't want it so I took it and oh my gosh was it amazing with my sweet potato fries. The sandwich was so tasty. Three of us got it and all three off us scarfed it down. Since it was my fiancés birthday, they were sweet enough to bring out a apple cinnamon donut with ice cream and sing to him. The only downside is the lack of a parking lot. They do put significant amount of alcohol for their cocktails so it is a plus. They have small snacks like french fries, potato fries, or mixed bags to enjoy with their drinks. Pretty average American food & drinks at this location. Our group of 7 made a reservation, and we arrived to a table set already for us. Service was great, because they let us know how the employees customize their dishes so we could do the same if we wanted to. Parking was extremely limited, because Simmzy's is on 2nd St, so we had to go around several residential blocks to find parking in front of some houses. Our group ended up parting ways & scattering in different directions to our respective vehicles. I had the Simmzy's Howlin hot chicken sandwich, and it was disappointing. I asked for extra spicy, but I think the kitchen got it wrong and did my fried chicken extra well done, because it was teetering on the edge of being burnt. I didn't want to send it back, because our table waited 20 minutes for the entrees and I didn't want to wait some more. The rest of the sandwich was good, however. The vinegar slaw & pickles cut through the fried chicken quite well. The mixed bag fries were good, and so was the garlic aioli it came with, but my girlfriend didn't like the garlic aioli. A few others at the table had the Simmzy's burger and they liked it, but it was extremely greasy. The burgers were dripping with grease and falling apart, so they ended up eating the last quarter of the burger with a knife and fork. For drinks, I ordered the Green Flash, and it was good. The "to share" size was MASSIVE, and it came with 1 straw for each of us, although my girlfriend & I shared the drink amongst ourselves and it was enough for both of us. Overall, extremely average experience. I wouldn't be opposed to going here again if it were suggested in my friend group, but I definitely won't be recommending it. read more

Slight issue with a requested well done burger and the medium pink burger i got so just make sure its cooked to your liking before you dive in so that you can enjoy the full experience and flavors. My friend and I were looking for a bar to spend the night on second street. We looked through a couple bars and found this one to fit our interests the most, and it seemed like a more calm environment compared to sports bars. The interior was pretty and clean! When we went in at around 7:30 on Sunday night, we were able to be seated immediately at counter bar seats. The bartenders were friendly and they were doing small talks for us. They helped us take pictures for us too. I ordered the house margarita which has tequila inside and it was really tasty. I hardly tasted the alcohol but felt a little tipsy afterwards. Found this place on Yelp, it was close to where we were so decided to give it a try. We ordered the Carne Asada fries, chicken sandwich and the patty melt. Oh and one Al pastor Taco to taste. The tortilla on the taco was thick. Not sure if it's worth almost $6. I only took a pic of the patty melt. They have a mayo with garlic that's to die for. Perfect for dipping. Service was very good. Got lunch here earlier today before heading to the airport. Was about a 20 minute wait to be seated which wasn't bad. Seated outside which was fine, asked for the heater and they said yeah, but we never got it. All good. I live the view outside on a nice day, so that made up for the cold. Ordered some fries with garlic aioli to start with, and they were delicious. A little different, all of them very thin and a little crunchy, maybe not for everyone but I dig it. The garlic aioli was on point, but maybe give everyone a little more. For my meal I ordered the shareable vegetarian nachos. Gotta say, they were solid. I was excited when I saw that they make their own chips (perfect), fire roasted tomato salsa (excellent) and queso too (meh). To me, queso will either make or break a nacho if you are putting it on there. If you do a good queso it immediately enhances the nacho experience, but if you don't it can kill it. This one misses in my opinion. Not very flavorful and it had a grainy texture. If I was them I would take it off and use the cheeses they already had on there and let the salsa do the work. Maybe add a spicy cheese to it. But the queso just wasn't doing it. I would live to try some more of the options (which I'm sure I will as I have family that live a couple blocks away). Overall, a nice place, will definitely try again. 100% recommend. 8.1/10 read more

Service was good but pretty slow given the volume of patrons and relatively small number of servers available. I ordered the bacon blue deluxe burger. It was a pretty good burger but I was hoping for more. The candied bacon didn't taste very candied to me which was disappointing but it was still nice to have bacon on my burger. The other flavors were good. Otherwise, the burger was super juicy and was dripping the whole time. I like Simmzy's but there's enough holding me back that I don't love it. I really like all their pizzas and find them a perfect size (and price) for both one and two people. However, some of their other items are pretty basic in flavor to the point that it resembles more of pub food...good pub food, but just pub food. Also, while I really like the atmosphere and vibe, the service is always subpar. Whether it's trying to call, trying to pick up, or dinning in, the service is slow or non-existent. This is could be because they're understaffed but I've been here pre, during, and post Covid and there's been no change in service. All in all, go if you want a beach vibe and decent food and drinks, but don't expect a caliber of service that you get elsewhere on 2nd street. read more
