Quality & food: Ordered their sizzle burger; pretzel bun, pickles, american cheese, with thin fries. Bomb and cooked medium- well, just like I'd requested. Also has blue cheese which is pretty strong on taste. Meat is amazing!! Jalapeno poppers: pretty Spicy for a Latino guy here lol so they're forsure on the hotter side. Made a reservation through their website (do this ahead of time otherwise you'll end up with either 5pm or 8pm like we did). They only take online reservations and we were seated right away (even though some of our party was still looking for parking). Honestly parking kind of sucks, but it's not THAT bad. Party of 6 and all of us found parking in the residential areas around the restaurant. No more than a 15 minute walk. The drinks were really good! Poolside was a table favorite - it does have seeds so if that's not your thing, get something else. The painkiller had a creamy taste (coconut milk). You could taste the alcohol more in the sunburst sangria (white wine) as opposed to the sunset sangria (red wine). I got the Simmzy's burger and it was good! They ask you how you like your burger, I got medium. This is soo filling and I barely finished, but totally could have had fries leftover if I didn't force myself to finish it. The burger kinda fell apart at the end so I had to eat a quarter of it with my fork and knife. The fries were SO GOOD!! Dipped in the garlic aioli? Even better!! Pizza looked pretty good - both my friends finished their pizza by themselves. The seating is super spacious, with outdoor seating and "indoor" (still open but it is shaded). I've been here twice now and had two very different experiences. The first time we sat at the bar and it was great. The ambiance is welcoming and has a fun, casual feeling. The food was delicious. I got the goat cheese salad, which was delicious, and my husband got a burger. The bartender gave us excellent service, which was appreciated. The second time, we sat at a table with my daughter on Mother's Day, and not a single server said Happy Mother's Day. The food was just as good the first time, but the service was lacking. My friend and I took a walk around the Peninsula and then came here to eat. The site has an airy interior with an open wall and open windows. There is outside seating under umbrellas and besides mini beautifully designed and planted flower boxes. The staff were attentive and did not hover. We stayed chatting and felt no pressure to hurry ti vacate the table. She had a vegetarian burrito and I had the egg sandwich. She said the burrito was really good. The egg sandwich had house-made sausage, which would benefit from a Courser grind IMO. The egg was cooked perfectly. The cheddar cheese was real, not cheese food; it was the perfect flavor profile for the sausage. They best part is the large buttermilk biscuit (I took 1/2 home). It maintained its integrity throughout the meal. Not falling apart. And was still light as a good biscuit is. When I had the other half the next day. I'm only giving two stars because the taste of the tortilla soup was actually delicious, but let me start off by saying this was more like a tortilla casserole versus a soup because for some strange reason this restaurant decided to add the tortilla chips in the soup to be delivered. By the time the soup was delivered not only was the soup cold the tortilla chips soaked up all of the juice. I only ordered a cup of soup there was little to no juice left and all of the tortilla chips inside were soggy. Such a huge disappointment. I took about three bites and proceeded to trash it. This order cost me $28.05 DOOR DASH only refunded $5 credit and $3 cash what a great way to end my Saturday evening. You would think assembling soup for delivery would be an easy task. I order the Beyond Burger. We use to visit the Burbank one but once we moved we visit the LB one often. It's our go to when we are in the area. The drinks are delicious and our kids enjoy everything on the kids menu. The staff was very attentive and recommended the Bacon Blue Deluxe Burger which was delicious. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting so I ate it the next day and it was still good. The haystack fries were good. They tasted like the animal style fries from in n out. The 15 minute wings did not taste that good to me. They were greasy which greatly overshadowed the flavor. I can't believe I'm writing this review because I had recently discovered Simmzy's in LB and have gone a few times prior. Today at around 2pm I ordered a Caesar salad and sweet potato fries, and starting about 6 hours later I haven't stopped throwing up their food - I'm sick to my stomach. I knew the salad tasted a little off but didn't think much of it at the time. So disappointing. I will obviously never eat here again. I also filed a report with the health department so hopefully this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

My experience at Simmzy's was different from many other reviews I've seen, so I plan to give this place another chance. But as for a first impression, I thought the food and service was mediocre. Pros: Seated quickly Cons: I ordered a burger well done and it came out medium well; I couldn't finish it because it was too pink in the middle for me. My burger was also extreme messy; one bite and everything fell out of it. It seemed like it was oily, which caused all of the toppings to slide out. This left me piecing together my burger with oily hands and quickly trying to eat another bite before lettuce, onion and tomato slid out again. Ew. Our beers and sodas were empty for a while and we wanted to order another round, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. We were able to get the attention of another waitress, and she mentioned that our waitress was on her break. Our waitress never told us and she didn't have anyone cover her table. She also could have just had too many tables that day and was really busy, but either way the service was lacking. Overall we didn't have any food that was outstanding, and service was not the best. Hazy IPA and I just wanna drink beer for breakfast Stout. We had such a great all around experience, that I asked to speak to the Manager about Holly's superb service and demeanor. We have been here a few times. I am due to review! It was a Saturday afternoon and Husband and I were ready for a snack. And by snack, we mean beer and pizza. Simmzy's has just that. I am a dark beer kind of girl, so I tried the "Smog City Brewing Coffee Porter" and the "Belching Beaver peanut butter stout". Both were really good and dark. I chose the Belching Beaver - $7.75 it went down more smoothly and the taste was milder. Husband had the 24th Street pale ale - $7.25. Our snack: M.S.G. pizza - $14.75. mushrooms, sausage, and garlic, with the usual tomato sauce and mozzarella, with scallions (nice touch). Serve with shaved parmesan. And ask for red pepper flakes because it wakes up the all the flavors. We picked this place mainly because it had a wide variety of options for food (including vegetarian/vegan options). Simmzy's is one of the many restaurants located on 2nd Street in Long Beach and one of the better ones. I think four stars is about right based on my experience, but subsequent visits might boost it up to five stars. It's like that for me. Read on: Simmzy's is a roomy, stylish, casual but upscale gastropub with both indoor and outdoor seating. Come as you are within reason. The menu has something for everyone: burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, salads, tacos, bowls, and an array of starters and sides, and, of course, various craft beers, which we didn't avail ourselves of it being a bidness lunch. I chose the poke salad bowl, which was very good if a little light on the poke and a little heavy on the soy and ginger marinade. I'm very particular and spoiled by the poke at the deli section of just about every grocery store in Hawaii, so take this comment for what it is. Still, I would order it again. It's a nice, innovative dish if you want something on the lighter side of town. The service was truly excellent from start to finish. It is quite understandably a popular place. Pro tip: At least at lunch time, if you go a little early (11:30 ish), you can pretty much pick what table you want., inside or outside. Do that if you can. Caveat: Parking on 2nd street can be a little challenging, but I've always been able to park without too much hazzle. It can appear daunting as you cruise down the street, but you WILL be able to park. You might have to park a couple blocks away, but 2nd street is a fun street, so no biggie. It's metered parking on the street, but the price is very reasonable (about $1.00 for two hours). If you don't have a bunch of quarters handy, just use your ATM card. Cheers! read more

Came in to have a late lunch midweek. I was greeted by a friendly host as I got in. Sat at the bar as we usually do when we would come back during pre-c days. Our server took our drink orders first - a beer for my husband and just water for me. When she returned with our drinks, she took our food order. We got an Aloha pizza and a Bacon Bleu Deluxe to share. It was really nice to that when they served the burger and fries, they had already divided up the order. Really appreciated that. Fries and dip was delicious but the burger was not as good as I remembered it from five years ago. The pizza had a good amount of toppings, but my one problem was that some bits of it, especially on the crust area had an odd cleaning solution taste, like Lysol. Also, as the space as open especially as it's summer, there are so much flies attacking the food. Between the cleaner flavour and the flies, it got to be unsavoury. Maybe a fly fans would be a worthwhile investment so guests don't have to be swatting flies while trying to eat. Service was nice but food wasn't as good with the exception of the fries. I didn't even miss the English muffin, the crust was thin and held up all the ingredients perfectly.
