So I've been to two of Simmzy's that are currently open and operating but it has been years since my visit to the Long Beach location and I don't really remember it. I had a friend visiting from Chicago and thought I would take him to this LA institution. As we walked in one of the employees asked how many in my party, I replied that there were two of us, she looked around and told us to ask someone at the bar to move down a chair and they were "currently in flux." All I could think was that I am now an old millennial and the flux was a term I wasn't familiar with used by zoomers. I found a table for two in the corner and that's where I sat us. It's a fun atmosphere at this location with inside and outside seating where it's small enough to where the inside seating feels like outside seating. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, it was ok, nothing to write home about and my friend ordered the wings. My opinion on Simmzy's is that it's a good place to have a couple of beers but the food is expensive and not really worth the price. read more

Despite being busy and there being a wait, our group had a good time here. It was a Friday evening and we came over directly from the office. Simmzy's is located near the pier, just a couple blocks away from the water. I highly recommend grabbing a bite before or after sunset. Make sure you go to the end of the pier and watch the sunset. You'll love it. We had a complicated group, but the server was friendly and service was fast. We shared a couple of starters, the Pepper Poppers Bacon and Fries. I had the Dirty South Fish Sandwich, which was absolutely amazing. Served very hot. I also enjoyed the fries, as they were very crispy and hot. They don't have the biggest space, but they do have indoor and patio seating. If there's a wait, you'll likely be waiting on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. Came here for a quick dinner and so glad we did. The food was super good! We ordered blonde ale's and they were so good we bought a pack because it's from a brewery that you can't buy in store. I got the Simmzys burger and it was super good! It came with fries which is always a plus. My boyfriend got 2 tacos and he said they were really good. He thought the tacos were better than my burger but I didn't believe him because my burger was DANK! And big!! The staff and whole vibe of the restaurant is super laid back because it's almost like a dive bar/restaurant. They have outdoor patio seating on the boulevard which I'm sure has a nice view of the ocean. I will be coming back here again! Our waiter wasn't lying when he said it was the size of a head haha. The pina colada foam on top complimented the drink well, but fair warning - it tastes kind of gross alone haha. This drink is superrrr sweet, like a jolly rancher! Simmzy's nachos - Exactly what you expect and good portion for 3 girls post dinner (take that metric however you'd like :). The nachos got soggy quick, so I'd just recommend eating them quickly Rasberry margarita - just got this as a second drink. I wish they had some kind of creamy goddess dressing or a little seasoning. The sangria was delicious, my friend and I shared a pitcher. The tables aren't as spaced out as I would like but they do sanitise between customers and the staff are all wearing masks and gloves. My friend and I came here on a Tuesday for lunch and we waited around 25 minutes to be seated (because we wanted the real outdoor seating area and not the indoor restaurant area with an open wall). Went here for brunch on Saturday with a friend. Got the breakfast burrito and simmzy burger - both were good. I asked if my burrito could be made without black beans but they said the filling is already mixed together - just a heads up for those who like substitutions, etc. We both got the bloody simmzy, which was excellent! Metered street parking is hit or miss, especially on the weekends but there are several public parking lots within walking distance. We got there at 11 and were able to get a table right away, but by the time we left it was pretty crowded! Overall, pretty standard food, but definitely a great spot super close to the beach and Manhattan beach pier. Also, it looked like they had a lot of great beers on tap. Wrong Color. Ordered 2 salads and a kid's meal and was treated like a hinderance vs a real human. My order sat on the counter for 20 minutes before the hostess (ahem) realized it was my order. We waited about 15 minutes after being seated for someone to take our drink order, then another good bit to get our food order in. The patty melt was solid and not overly greasy alongside a Baja roadie brew, but can't say the same about the tacos. The things came all soggy and wet. While my friend said they tasted fine, the tortillas were rendered useless and it became more of a trio of small taco salads to be eaten with a fork. Will return for the drink i'm sure, as we frequent MB often, but likely will pass on the meal. This is one of my favorite places to go and grab food with friends or my husband, but today I got so disappointed that I honestly don't think that I will ever come back. I ordered one of my favorite items from their menu, Hawaiian Poke Bowl, over the phone and got out of work to pick it up. I subbed the rice with guacamole for extra $3 which is an option on their menu and I always do. I picked up my order and came back to work to eat it, and when I opened my box there was a less then a tablespoon of guacamole, no ginger, no peanuts...my poke bowl looks like nothing on their menu and is extremely tiny. Absolutely love this place! I already knew their burgers were off the charts good, but I recently tried their other food and was blown away by their salad of all things. I ordered an oak grilled shrimp salad, which was huge and a great value for under $16. It was super fresh, beautifully created like a high-end hotel restaurant. I have been day dreaming about this salad ever since! My partner and I also swooned over the fact that you can get a blend of shoestring and sweet potato fries here in a single side dish. On a nice day when the windows and walls are open this place is the epitome of California living. Just popped in for a drink and fries with a friend while visiting. Such a fun little spot. If your a beer drinker this place is calling your name. They had about 30 or so different beers on tap from all over the country. As a native NYer it was nice to see a few from there as well. I had a cider that was light and refreshing. The fries we ordered were amazing! Do yourself a favor and order the mixed fried basket. Super crunchy and hot with two incredible aioli sauces. The front area was open so half of the restaurant feels like you're sitting outside. I came starving and was really pleased with my burger. The meat was cooked perfectly, as were the mountain of onions on top. So good!! My mom didn't love the black bean burger, said it wasn't a true patty. There are other vegetarian options though. Also, get the shoe string fries!! So addicting!! Overall, there is decent variety in the menu, as well as the beers on tap, so this place is likely to please most.
