I got the blonde ale and it nice and light. Not hoppy at all. The BOTH burger was confusing? I was excepting the mushroom to be more prominent or even to be portobello mushroom and then a patty. I guess it's mixed in somehow? You mostly just taste the onions, which were good, and the meat. Nothing too special. Not sure if it was the most expensive burger on the menu. Stopped here to get a bite. It was packed for a Thursday night. It's a small place too. It's very tight and loud. The tables were inches from each other. So, it's great to meet new people but not so great if you want some privacy. We got lucky a table cleared and we got seated right away. I had the bacon blue deluxe as a lettuce wrap. It tasted great. Simmzy's has been around for quite awhile. Always known for their great beer selection, that hasn't changed despite them bringing their own brand to the table. The food is always tasty and you just might see a VIP from time to time. They have a great location just a block away from the beach and now that they've taken over the parking spots, they have an ocean view from the outdoor seating. As for food, their 15 minute wings are really great but it's only a mighty serving of 6 wings so make sure to order enough from the get go. I wouldn't expect spectacular service because they are always so busy but the certainly get the job done and get it done quickly. The fries for the carne asada fries were thin and crispy, so delicious! And the asada was well marinated 15 minute wings were a little spicy but good! My mom and aunt decided on the poke bowl fairly quickly, but I was deciding between a burger and the tacos. I ended up getting two tacos, Pork Taco al Pastor & Grilled Diablo Shrimp Rojo Taco. Both were REALLY GREAT! I loved the shrimp one so much. I wish I had more. I was f completely full, I could have had another, or even two more. But we all finished at the same time, so I didn't order more. The poke in the Hawaiian Tuna poke bowl was good, I just personally enjoy salmon poke then tuna poke. The sauce isn't what I'm used to. Maybe something else, I was eating to fast to remember all on a pretzel bun! Really good 15 minute wings 2.5/5 - should have been 20 min wings. Lol. Crispy outside, needed a few more minutes to cook. Simmzy's a small chain found in beach cities in Southern California, and part of the Simms Group which also owns Tin Roof Bistro. This location is found near or at the The Strand so you can take a nice walk to the pier afterwards. The cubano is a favorite for those who love a thick bread and decent meat ratio. I found that my company enjoyed its simplicity among the heartyness that it has to offer. However, it didn't seem to have very much meat so that brought the experience in down a bit. I personally prefer the burger. This is a hefty burger that offers you a thick juicy meat patty that is cooked to order, and often a little lighter in timing that you want. So what do you get? You get a juicy patty with some solid lettuce and a thick bun. I really like the area here, with the ability to use the sidewalk outdoor part and be away from most of the pedestrian crowd. I think you can request a corner, but it will take a bit longer to get a table. At the same time, parking can be impossible here on weekends, so consider a weeknight for a venture to really enjoy the place. read more

So I've been to two of Simmzy's that are currently open and operating but it has been years since my visit to the Long Beach location and I don't really remember it. I had a friend visiting from Chicago and thought I would take him to this LA institution. As we walked in one of the employees asked how many in my party, I replied that there were two of us, she looked around and told us to ask someone at the bar to move down a chair and they were "currently in flux." All I could think was that I am now an old millennial and the flux was a term I wasn't familiar with used by zoomers. I found a table for two in the corner and that's where I sat us. It's a fun atmosphere at this location with inside and outside seating where it's small enough to where the inside seating feels like outside seating. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, it was ok, nothing to write home about and my friend ordered the wings. My opinion on Simmzy's is that it's a good place to have a couple of beers but the food is expensive and not really worth the price. read more
