Our waitress was very sweet but all of the staff were friendly! They were also very accommodating for my mom as she is vegan and gluten free. We ended up splitting a Tom Kha soup and Pad See Ew both with tofu. The food came out hot and fresh and everything was delicious. I love Tom Kha and theirs was on par with some of my other favorite places versions of the dish except theirs rings a bit more on the sour side (this is a good thing). Their Pad See Ew however is unique and in my opinion, one of my favorites as it has this almost smoky flavor that is just so crave-able. Portions are large we got super full! Our waitress must have overheard us talking about birthday because she brought out a complimentary ice cream which was so kind! Overall had a great experience and whenever we're looking to dine in for Thai food again I would definitely come back!

It's a smaller hole-in-the-wall spot but with lots of open space so it doesn't feel too cramped. Parking isn't necessarily the easiest, but I didn't have to wait, just know most of the street parking is paid M-F between 10am-7pm. (1st 15 minutes is free though). This spot was the perfect blend of order/pay first for bomb food. Service was fast even though it was just one person manning both the cashier and service. Jackie was so great and had a great smile and was so nice to even my kids which was a big plus. I loved the food and it's not like typical "Texas BBQ" which I actually liked. The meat didn't feel overly saturated in fat or greasy but was still so tender. Maybe it's because I'm Asian, but "real" Texas BBQ joints or American BBQ spots tend to feel too heavy for me and I don't feel good after eating. This place wasn't different. The brisket could easily be cut with just a fork and that's solid for me. The gochujang pork belly was better than most KBBQ spots I've tried. and dare I say, I think they had the best tasting fries I've had... like it's hard to explain, but the slightest lemon pepper seasoning with the perfect crisp on outside to potato inside was just so on-point. I had to fight my kids over the last couple fries. Make sure to get the spicy and secret BBQ sauces they have in the center along with purple slaw and jalapeño sides. It complements the meat so nicely. Price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. All in all, everything is so well seasoned without feeling overly salty with great balance across their dishes. I'll definitely be back.

I could have made a better sandwich at home for 75 cents - which is around the total cost for the ingredients they used.

It kinda feels like a place where you order at the front and get takeout, but they have someone who will wait on your table if you choose to dine in. I came with a vegetarian friend and we had a fun time sampling the different taco meats and rating each. Here is my ranking: 1. Asada - I hate to be basic, but this was good for what it was. It tasted like they might have used mushroom meat, but this takes place as #1 for me because I think it could be a general crowd pleaser for any non-vegetarian. On the contrary, my vegetarian friend did not like it because she found it too dry. 2. Barbacoa - A very, very close second. The only reason it places behind asada is because asada is a classic. Barbacoa has good texture and I could eat a lot of these too. 3. Chorizo - This was the closest to tasting like its actual counterpart. I could eat a bunch of chorizo. Crumbly meat with lots of flavor. 4. Tinga - I'm not as familiar with tinga meat, but the pickled red onion that went with this taco gave it a savory taste. Good to try out but you're not missing out if you choose other flavors. 5. Chicken - Tasted like tofu meat? Not bad - I don't usually pick chicken for taco meat so this might be a personal preference choice. 6. Pastor - Sweet, but did not taste like pastor. Had a little trouble distinguishing between the pastor and the tinga at first, but came to the conclusion the pastor was the one with pineapple on it. I mostly prefer savory meats and while I don't mind the pineapple, the pastor I usually have is not sweet itself. If you like sweet meats, this might be worth getting. 7. Potato - Everybody can skip the potato. It's a fried potato taco, but the potato they use resembles a breakfast hash. The crispiness is nice, but the texture is flaky and the sauce doesn't save it. Even my vegetarian friend was let down by this one even though she had high hopes and usually likes potato tacos. Overall the server told us most of the taco meats were soybean based (not the pastor). I think the chorizo might be falafel, but that's a guess? Ended our meal with the Tres Leches as a dessert. Frosting is buttery and sweet (maybe a little too much frosting) but the cake goes super well with the milk. It sits in a soy milk bath which is a first for me. I wish they had added more soy milk! The menu is huge though. I was very tempted to try other stuff on the menu so I am very open to coming back and trying the breakfast platter (or getting more tacos again, yum).

The crepe had a lovely pillowy texture and was so heavenly, both the chocolate sauce and chocolate mousse were so rich and decadent and had me wanting more! The owner asked if I needed help finding anything, and when I told him I was just browsing, he didn't pressure me at all. I go to this spot every week and I can't say enough good things. The food is fresh and delicious, and extremely generous for a reasonable price. I would go just for those things, but the staff is a huge part of why I keep going back. Lucy and her team are so friendly, so kind, so positive. I always go in right before closing (I get it to go, I promise!) and they never make me feel like I'm imposing or they've already got one foot out the door. I've received the wrong orders multiple times, resulting in inconvenient return trips to the restaurant. When I finally voiced my concerns, I was offered a free salad, which unfortunately led to a bout of food poisoning. Shockingly, this happened again on a subsequent visit. I've been to other locations and Long Beach location is definitely my new go to. First off this place is HUGE compared to other locations. They have the best customer service, they're so friendly, welcoming and very attentive! I even saw people taking pictures with them how exciting! Essentially you walk up to a fridge and select the meal you want to eat, there's a wide range of selection all of it is freshly made and what seems nutritious. I didn't take much of a look to see what was to offer since I didn't like the idea of eating cold food on my break but later realized the people at the register can warm it up for you. Today I tried the hot honey crunchy chicken salad. At first when opening the salad I honestly thought it was not going to be much. After eating halfway through I realized I was pretty full. I really liked the flavor of the salad and the freshness, the crunchies added some texture and I liked that arugula was the base instead of simple lettuce. Simple but refreshing and filling although it may not look like it lol. If I was in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat I'd stop again.

The line to order was nearly to the door. The line was moving fast until a Karen-like character stormed to the front and cut us all off. She was complaining about something she didn't like about her order and demanded that her bowl be remade. The workers were very respectful and immediately started remaking her food. This was annoying for me and everyone else that had been waiting but the employees handled it well. I ordered the new Glazed Salmon as my protein and it was so delicious. It has a beautiful glaze and crust with a soft interior that really impressed me for it being a fast-casual restaurant. The add-ons to the bowls were great and paired well with the flavors of the salmon. I felt like my bowl was a little skimped out on though - it felt a little empty for the price. I will be craving this until we get a NorCal location!

They also have a patio but no one was dining outside. Our meals were brought to our table, along with cups of water. They also have a nice little station set up for self serve water, as well as condiments, extra tableware etc. we both chose the chimichurri steak, prepared medium rare as the cashier had suggested. I would have liked more chimi, or had it blended more like a sauce but it was fresh and tasty. The garlic mashed potatoes were to die for. Brussels were perfect for me. We each tried the carrots/golden beets veggie side, and it was mild but tasty and moist. Staff checked our table regularly, and cleared plates. Very nice. It's great to get a lovely meal of fresh, quality food with interesting choices and menu items that are changed up and added to seasonally. I would definitely return! More so if they offered promotions.

The chicken actually tasted boiled and then finished on the grill so there would be grill marks.I asked the person who took my order to have them remake it with the glaze on but she just gave it back to me with extra sauce. I have loved other dishes from Urban Plates but not this one. Just to clarify: A glaze is applied during the final stage of cooking, not poured raw at the table like a sauce. Unlike a standard sauce served on the side, a glaze relies on heat to undergo caramelization and reduction. As the meat finishes cooking under heat--in the oven, air fryer, or on the grill--the sugars in the glaze melt and reduce into a thick, glossy, and sticky coating that adheres directly to the meat's surface.

The bread squashes down on the tasty pile of meat. The vegetables and condiments were in perfect proportion.
