Crab cake sandwich
Chloe M.

Great hidden gem! Their food was so delicious! The crab cake sandwich was full of meat and seasoned so well, not fishy at all, and the salmon blt was great. We also got the shecrab soup and the lumps of crab in it is insane! Full of meat! You get a side of chips with most meals and they have a big variety to choose from. Friendly staff, quick service. We will be back :)

Simply The Best! Simply Steamed is the perfect beach dinner! Place your order in the afternoon and pick up at your specified time for dinner! Our group of 7 feasted on steamed shrimp, clams, and crab legs with melted butter and delicious cocktail sauce. You can't go wrong with this seafood crowdpleaser when in Sandbridge!

Disposable pots

This was a really easy review. Hands down the best take out I have had in years and a fantastic business beach food model. First, the business model is fantastic. You get to pick from a variety of steamer pots with different assortments of seafood. You simply add 8 ounces of fluid, poke four holes in the top, and then cook on the stovetop for about 35 minutes. The pots are disposable, but also substantial. You simply throw the pot away after throwing all the shells and scraps in. The second part of this review is the food. It was awesome!!! We did two pots (coastal and hard shell). Both had great assortments of food that cooked up tremendously. We had crab claws, legs, oysters, clams, mussels, crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and corn on the cobb. Oh yeah, mu daughter had their She Crab Soup and it was unbelievable also. If ever in Virginia Beach or Sandbridge, this is a must do!

We got Simply Steamed for take out last week while vacationing in Sandbridge and I have to admit, the business model is absolutely genius. We got 3 steamer pots, 2 lbs of shrimp, and a quart of the crab soup. Just an FYI this place is extremely pricey - the above things were +$500, so expect to pay some money if you're feeding more than 4 people (we had 12). The steamer pots take longer than you'd expect to cook - ours took ~1 hour, but that may be because of the poor stove we had in our rental condo with too small of burners. Regardless, very cool concept and allows you to have the seafood boil experience without all the work leading up to it. Would recommend and we will definitely be repeat customers should we vacation in the area again.

We are vacationers from Pittsburgh and Charlotte, we heard about simply steamed and felt we had to try. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh and very very good. The only negative I have is this.. make sure you check that what they give you is what you ordered. They didn't give us our second lobster, when we called they said something about market price and blah blah blah.. which didn't seem right after we checked market price for lobster... we called back and explained their price breakdown to them and they told us to come back to get our second lobster? Then they gave us a blueberry pie to make things right? I won't complain about the pie bc it was wonderful and they made things right with the lobster

A little pricey, but good food, prepared and packaged well for carry out. Steampot was enough for four. Ala carte dishes were good, too.

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. You'll be glad you did, and you can rest assured that you're helping support one of our outstanding local restaurants.

The staff and even some fellow customers were very accommodating to my friends to help them get seated. Other customers were excited to let my friends know that it is worth the trip. The trip was two+ hours one way. My fried oysters, cheese chive potatoes, asparagus, and crab cake were superb. The cheese samplers were on point. My one friend could not have the nuts and my other friend had some different food allergy that I don't remember- so I had to eat all three samplers because fingers crossed I have no food allergies and I like to minimize food waste as part of being more sustainable and my own culture. I seem to have missed a picture of the Jellyfish Sting drink I had. It was flavorful enough and I liked the rose syrup in particular. The blueberry lemonade cocktail was sweet like I like my drinks. The key lime has a cashew crust that sounds like it compliments the key line well and I had it the last time and loved it. I am not sure if they always use cashew crust. My guess would be yes. Unfortunately one of my friends is allergic to nuts and he could not have it. I believe all the food is made from scratch and it certainly tastes that way. I think the quality prepared seafood and the making from scratch contribute to the limited opening hours of this restaurant. If you are in the area, a must visit if you like seafood. 5/25/26: I forgot to add that I was impressed that they added a mocktail menu and vegan chicken as an option. I think that they should have a vegan seafood option as well being a top notch seafood place in keeping up w the present times for what people would like for options within reason.

It was packed with large chunks of crab instead of mostly filler--exactly what a crab cake should be. Service was friendly, and when half the restaurant is filled with locals, you know you've found a good place. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was the sausage links. They were dry, had a flaky texture on the outside, and an odd flavor, which was surprising since our waitress highly recommended them. Even so, I'd definitely return the next time I'm in town to try their lunch or dinner menu.

Service was friendly, welcoming, and impressively fast from start to finish. The water was also crisp and refreshing, and I appreciated that they were generous with the lemon slices. The menu leans heavily toward fried foods, but I was glad to see several grilled seafood options available as well. The grilled flounder and the grilled shrimp and scallops were the standout dishes for me. Super fresh and well prepared as they were all super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The scallops in particular were incredibly tender, fresh tasting, and completely free of any sandy texture. The seafood honestly did not need help from any sauces because the flavor and texture stood well on their own. That is why I found the condiment situation a little puzzling. Each plate came with a large serving of tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and lemon butter sauce, while the grilled tuna additionally came with a pink sauce that reminded me of sriracha mayo, Thousand Island dressing, or yum yum sauce. I personally only used a little of the lemon butter on my broccoli but nothing else. We took the rest home so not to waste it but largely still found them unnecessarily. While the seafood should have been the star of the show, the condiments ended up being a much larger serving size than the seafood was. Rather than automatically serving several large cups of sauce, it might make more sense to simply ask guests which sauces they would like to have. There were six shrimp, though they were fairly small, and only two scallops. Given how exceptional the scallops were, I would have happily traded some of the extra sauces for a few more of them. The portions for the grilled tuna and burger however appeared much larger than the grilled shrimp and scallops entrée or grilled flounder. The sides however were much more generous. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and paired nicely with the lemon butter sauce. The hush puppies came automatically with every meal. While I would personally prefer having a healthier alternative available, my brother enjoyed them and described them as crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a genuine corn flavor and just the right amount of salt. Overall, these were very enjoyable meals; the service was excellent, the outdoor seating was pleasant, the seafood was fresh and skillfully prepared, and the sides were generous. One thing to keep in mind is that if you order the grilled flounder or shrimp and scallops as a lunch meal it may not be enough food to keep you full.

Outer Banks Boil Company should really change its slogan to: "You buy it, you pick it up, you cook…read moreit, and somehow you still tip us." Don't get me wrong--the seafood was fresh, tasty, and the seasoning was spot on. The problem isn't the food. The problem is the sticker shock when you realize you just paid $115 for what amounts to about 2 clusters of crab legs, roughly 1.5 pounds of shrimp, a few ears of corn, some red potatoes, onion slices, butter, and Old Bay. For that price, I was expecting a feast worthy of a pirate king. Instead, it felt more like a very expensive scavenger hunt where I still had to go home and cook everything myself. The biggest surprise? The tip prompt when you pick it up. So let me get this straight: I place the order, drive to get it, carry it home, boil it myself, clean up the kitchen afterward, and I'm still being asked to tip on top of premium pricing? That's a bold business model. The included boil bucket is nice, but unless that bucket is secretly paying my electric bill and washing the dishes afterward, it's hard to justify the cost. Bottom line: The food is good. Really good. But for $115, I couldn't help thinking I could have made the same meal from the grocery store for around $45 and had enough left over for dessert and a six-pack. If convenience is your thing, go for it. If value is your thing, bring your own bucket.

As for my experience, I'm retired but I have 45 plus years in the business. I've operated multiple outlets at one time. Also restaurants that have had over 400 seats. A major comparison to your tiny outlet. I've even operated a restaurant where we once did 418 covers in a sit-down full-service restaurant from 6:00 until 10:15. It is called knowing how to turn the tables. It is still a record to this date. So I definitely know that I have the experience to make a full and clear objective comment regarding your restaurant. As for the Ho chi Minh comment, maybe you folks should approach the Virginia Beach city council and tell them you need to close until they get the road condition improved. They should be willing to give you a government handout after all, I am sure you took one during the covid epidemic. By the way, I have over 10 years experience with the department of Defense/ United States Marine Corps operating their food and beverage outlets.
