The Pud Thai is my favorite. It is the only thing I have ever ordered off of the menu here because it is that good. It makes for terrific leftovers. The food portion is more than enough. There are so many cool Thai places in the city and prior to coming to this location, it seemed underwhelming due to its location and the fact that it is in a strip mall. After moving from San Francisco, my husband and I were craving good Thai food. We decided to visit Singha Thai and were pleasantly surprised. The food was great, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was just right. It felt like a little bit of home. The prices were also great. There are way, way better Thai places in Milwaukee than this place. It's dark in there. The decor is way too formal feeling, but there is a TV on in the back of the dining room which creates a weird ambiance. The server was polite as was the hostess. It was about 7pm on a Saturday but the place was less than half full. The food was fine. Our dishes weren't as spicy as expected and not that appetizing to look at. The spring rolls leave a lot to be desired. Ours were served super sloppy looking. I'm glad I gave it a shot though. For Thai food it's bland and boring. It could be classified as Chinese food with some spice. The prices are high but the service is good. Ten or fifteen years ago this was one of the best Thai restaurants in Milwaukee and was included on the some of the Milwaukee Journal's top restaurants in Milwaukee listings at that time. It is not an omission that this place no longer appears on any best of lists. The food quality is no longer as good, service is slow and inattentive, the server just leaves a carafe of water at the table and seldom returns after the main course is delivered, and the prices are higher than at comparable restaurants. The last straw was when this place offered coupons which do not expire on restaurant.com beginning a couple of months ago, they still currently appear on that website, yet they have a notice on their door stating they no longer accept these coupons! Figured it was worth giving this place another try after seeing and purchasing this coupon. Needless to say we walked out after we confirmed that it is true that they no longer honor the coupon I just bought! Sometimes restaurants discontinue participation in restaurant.com or other discount programs, but reputable places still honor non expired coupons that customers still hold! read more

I've only been here once, but I plan on trying it again! I went with a group of friends so we all ordered different things and shared. It was great to try several dishes. Everything was really good; vegetables were crisp; meats cooked well; sauces were awesome - not overbearing. The service was attentive. This place has THE BEST noodle dish I have ever had but cannot find at any other Thai restaurant. The Crispy Noodle Basket. Between all the fresh vegetables, this Amazing dark sweet spicy sauce and these crispy noodles that never seem to get soft, it is hands down my favorite. I have going here for YEARS & this is even with moving 2 hrs away over 10 years ago. My main complaint is when we did decide to eat there, the staff was so rude. Anytime we had a question , They treated us as if we were bothering them ( even though there was hardly anyone dining there.) They ended up packaging up my leftovers in front of me then taking my Daughter's leftovers in back. We thought that was bizarre. I intend on trying eating there one more time. This used to be my go to place for Thai food but I know why I have not been back in a long while. I went again after moving back to the West Allis area and was disappointed. The food was ok but not great. There was no one in the place and while everyone was polite the place just seemed like it had seen better days. Medicore thai place. The problem is here in Milwaukee it seems we have limited options for thai food. The food: mediocre. They put waaaaaaaaaay too much sugar in every dish. Even when you order medium (I wouldn't dare try spicy) I can taste a ton of sugar. Service: I haven't say down and ate there for 8 years (had a bad experience). A few weeks ago I ordered takout. I was on my way home from work and I stopped in and ordered. My bill was 77 something (I was bringing it home for my family). I waited there about a half hour or so, signed the cc slip, and left. The next day my wife texts me at work with a picture of the receipt wondering why the bill was 154. It turns out they charged me 77 for the meal and 77 for "tip" in error. That's fine. It's understandable. Mistakes happen. I called the next day and was told to call in the evening. I called twice the following week and each time was told that they'd "look at it". After a week I was really frustrated and called the cc company to contest the charge. When I talked to the cc company the restaurant had given me credit for the 144 and billed me for the correct 77. That's all fine and well but what was irritating to me was the complete lack of communication. I can completely understand that mistakes happen, but please just communicate with me so I don't waste time calling over and over and eventually calling the cc company. read more

This restaurant serves delicious food and huge servings. I had a chicken peanut sauce dish that was out of this world and a "tidbits" appetizer. My dining partner has a mussels appetizer and some kind of thin noodles dish. We took over half of everything but the tidbits home and enjoyed every last bite. read more

We had the lunch buffet - which was o.k.. There was nothing made with coconut milk, they had egg rolls instead of lighter, more Thai spring rolls, and the buffet does not offer soup, which was disappointing. The silverware at the tables does not include a spoon, which is required for eating properly in Thailand. There was no plain, white rice on the buffet, but the server brought a big bowl to our table. The food tasted pretty good, and the service was pretty good, but we certainly didn't feel as if we had been transported to Thailand. read more

Had the buffet and it was pretty average. For Thai food it was decent but not great. A fair bit pricey and limited menu which was really the same selection with different meats. Rice was par, sweet and sour chicken was decent. No soups or desserts at all. Service was good, atmosphere a bit shady but ok. Good if you hankering for Thai. I came from Asia and know how good Thai cuisine is. However, the food at Singha is not up to par. The food is not authentic. Pad Thai was too sweet. Curry was too thin and too blend. The satay looks like albino chicken. The theme of the food is "sweet." Everything tastes too sweet. The portion is big though. Considering the quality and taste of the food, no thanks. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever ate. The staff was extremely poor because for some reason the waiter/table cleaner thought it was okay to openly start joking with me because I only need one set of silverware....I don't get it......and on top of that the chicken satay was just alright and the Tom Kha soup had wayyyy too much fish sauce and had no coconut milk as far as I could see. I want to give it less than a one star to be honest. I ordered the Beef Larb and it tastes like nothing, flavorless. They used ground beef which makes it oily and nasty and larb (laab) should come with rice not for extra $$. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR THAI FOOD. My coworker had some seafood salad. Everything does not seem fresh, just refrigerated food from walmart or something. Everything is over priced. The atmosphere felt empty. I did not expect the spring rolls to look like some rolled up white pancakes along with what tastes like some teriyaki sauce. But the tom kha soup was pretty good. We also got some fish cakes too along with some cucumbers with some sauce that was pretty good too. 1st time for lunch buffet. Half of it was not-so-great Chinese. Typical egg rolls, tough chicken for sweet/sour, veggie egg foo young (that was good), and wet fried rice. They also had pepper steak that was good. As far as the Thai dishes, there were four, three of them spicy. They weren't all that different than Chinese food. The Thai iced tea was only ok; not worth the $2.50. I won't go back - Chaing Mai Thai in Bkfld is MUCH better and tastes of Thai seasonings more than Singha did. Their pho broth has so much garlic in it, it might as well be garlic pho broth. They didn't give me any condiments at all and no veggies (basil, lime, bean sprouts, etc.). It was such a small bowl for $9.99 too. The spring rolls are not what I thought they were. I thought it would be rice paper with pork and shrimp but it was either wet chicken or tofu. Well spent 17 years in Seattle eating at many Thai and other Asian restaurants. This place was bad. The rice was old, we had 3 chicken entrees and it tasted as precooked chicken was added during the final heating of the sauce. The Chicken Satay tasted like it was not marinaded. The Tom Ka soup was full of white mushrooms (not straw mushrooms) barely cooked and the chicken had that pre cooked old taste. Beware. Because of its convenient location, I have frequented Singha Thai over the past few years whenever a Thai craving has struck. There are definitely shortcomings here, including dry chicken in my red curry on several occasions, but there are also some wonderfully tasty dishes, like the Singha Noodles (thin rice noodles stir-fried with a light curry sauce, veggies or a meat of choice) - so delicious! On weekends this night the dining room can be full and there is no suitable waiting area, just a line of people standing very near to the door and equally near people dining. read more

I've been coming here for years when I'm in town visiting my fam. This place is awesome, get the Volcano Chicken. It is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is perfect for a thai restaurant. The food is scrumptious and the Thai iced tea and Bubble tea is also very good. The service is up to par and I have never had a bad experience here. I'm a little confused about the salt comment, because I am very sensitive to salt (I don't even think I own a salt shaker, I never add it to anything) and I have never had that problem here at all. It was one of the saddest days of my life when the downtown Singha Thai closed; it was a quick commute over 794 and into downtown to pick up some delicious Kang Dang or Pad Thai and some crab puffs. However, I am obsessed enough with their food I will drive out to West Allis to pick up carry out regularly. The food here is addictively good (best crab puffs ever. I know they are not authentic to any Asian cuisine, but the ones here are peppery and delicious, I am obsessed with them) and reasonably priced. I recommend the Kang Dang with beef (red coconut curry with a nice amount of heat), or the Pad Thai with shrimp. Also, the people that work here are so nice- they remember my husband every time he stops in to pick up an order. Nice atmosphere, kind service and excellent food. read more
