It's a bar, but a very nice, clean bar, a super menu, daily specials for drinks and food and a nice chummy atmosphere to enjoy. Prices are reasonable and service spot-on. Maryrose took us on for lunch and kept the iced tea flowing. Wife had lunch nachos ($9.95), which were OK, but needed more cheese. We did take some home, but with the sour cream in it did not make it appetizing any more. I had a combination chile and half BLT ($10.25) which was excellent. The BLT was lunch enough for me, so I took the chile home for later. The side o'day was fried okra and we loved it ($4) and paid the extra $.40 for their excellent ranch dressing. Come at other than prime times for lunch and dinner. Benches outside are because it is a very popular place and you will warm those benches if you hit busy times.

Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. The staff was amazing and I was astounded by their dedication to their craft. The best part was the food. We started with the chefs board which had an array of cheeses and spreads. The most memorable was the whipped feta. OMG. The Ambiance was the only thing I feel could use some tuning as there's not enough sound deadening to make the music out? It sounds like a heart beat and makes it hard to make out conversations. Major shout out to Leigh for taking care of us all night and making it a memorable night. So there's clearly talent behind the bar. The service is always great, which definitely adds to the experience. But honestly, the real reason I keep coming back is the chocolate cake. It is LIFE CHANGING. I'm not exaggerating. If you haven't had it, get it.
