I ordered the daily special: seafood cakes (shrimp, scallops, crab, and cod). It came with fries and sweet coleslaw for $10.95. The seafood cakes were plump, fresh and delicious. While on vacation I was in Orleans and stopped into Sir Cricket's. It was early and the very small dining area was deserted. I pondered the large menu board behind the counter and decided on fried clams to go. The girl who waited on me was friendly and the food came out quickly. Tartar and cocktail sauce and lemon wedges are available for you to dispense and take with your order. I like that. Far too many times have I not gotten enough tartar or cocktail sauce when ordering take out. The lemon was a nice touch. The clams were fried to a golden brown and were nice, small and tender. Nice little place on the Cape. We dropped in for lunch on a recent visit to the Cape and stopped after visiting the Seafood store next door. My Dad got the Clam Chowder and the fried Fish. He said the chowder was good and based on ho quickly it disappeared I can only assume it was. He got a huge piece of fish which isn't always the case when you order fish. The coating was perfect. It evenly covered the fish without the ever too common chunk of just breading. It was more of a light tempura style rather then the thick doughy kind you sometimes get. The fish was well cooked and flaky. Truly one of the better pieces of fish I have tasted lately. I had the small order of Clam Strips which overflowed the container and would have probably been a large most other places. The Clams were well breaded and very flavorful. Just a touch of Malt Vinegar was all that I needed to make it a great meal. The place isn't fancy and has limited seating, but if you are looking for good, simple seafood, I suggest this place. read more

A hidden gem! Food was fresh, not frozen. The clam chowder is one of the best on the Cape!! Creamy, flavorful and stuffed with clams, so good!!!! The batter on the English fish is perfectly crispy, not too thin and not too heavy. The fish itself was really tasty, clean, fresh and flaky. This has to be without a doubt one of the most poopiest places on all of the cape. Their portions are pitiful. A large fry consisting of about 6 pieces of potato. The clam chowder is down right disgusting. It's watered down progression, clam juice, and the captains beard for crusty crunchy salt bitterness. The fish and chips come with moist breading and clearly store bought frozen fish taint. Lack of flavor and sheer disgustery make this place a joke. Grabbed a quick lunch - there is only a few indoor tables and one happened to be available. We got fish and chips and a clam strip plate - both decent portions for a reasonable price. The fish was perfectly cooked, I was very happy with it - I upgraded because I don't really like cod. Bring change for the vending machine if you want/need a drink because that's all they have. The counter person wasn't much help, just took the order and that was it. Didn't ask if it was stay or go, so they wrapped it even though we were at a table before we even ordered. But the food is good and the price is right there with the rest of the fast food on the Cape. Hubby ordered fried oysters and we both got a bowl of clam chowder. The oysters and chowder were delicious. The lobster roll was good, but not exceptional. The restaurant has a fast paced order counter and limited seating (most people were getting to go). We had bikes, so we found the one picnic table outside. The staff was friendly, the food came quicker than the place next door (we had orders at both). At 31 bucks for the combined order, it was on the steep side, but money well spent. Tip: The bathrooms are next door. It's an adventure. Go behind the fish counter, through the storage room. The single bathroom is in front of you. A few days ago I was in the mood for seafood and was heading back to Dennis from the National Seashore at Eastham when I drove past Sir Cricket's. I am SO glad I stopped. I ordered the fish & chips, and it was excellent. The fish was lightly battered, not overly so, and golden crispy. The fries were excellent, too. It's not a fancy place, but all the food I witnessed looked perfectly cooked. They offer broiled seafood, too, but I only saw the fried seafood. I would say this is a can't miss kind of place.
