Amazing amazing! Right when you walk in theres a moody vibe with artwork and a lot of greenery inside. Service was amazing and they were able to give me plenty of vegetarian options. We started with the Zaatar focaccia and it was so good. The bread was fluffy and huge and the olive tapenade it came with was great. We got the broccoli as a veggie and that was very filling and had a unique citrus flavor. For the main, I asked for the pesto pasta without the sausage. It was delicious! This was a top notch experience. The ambiance here is warm yet inviting and trendy- perfect for date night or hanging with friends. Our server was very friendly, helped us navigate the menu, and provided great service. We started with drinks and recommend the Sweet Child of Mine. What an excellent dining experience, the food did not disappoint, the staff were so attentive to our needs from the bartender to our server Drew. Ordered the veal/beef meatballs to start and then carrots and Moroccan chicken I believe for the entree. Honestly, so impressed. The atmosphere was inviting and I was truly impressed. Also don't leave without dessert. 10/10. I applaud the attention to detail. The bill came out around $200 which was totally worth it. Four cocktails, appetizer, two entrees, and dessert. i really like this place: the ambiance, service and food were all great! Honestly, the worst thing about this place is the parking situation. When we first arrived, we tried to find parking in the lot behind but it was packed. we drove across the street and was blessed by the parking god, and found a spot. Otherwise, i think we would have been driving around for quite a while to find parking. We made reservations, so we walked in and were seated right away. We didn't get seated "inside" but it was in the enclosed patio area. We didn't get any of the entrees, but opted to pick a few smaller items to try more items. We tried the lobster and burrata, beets and avocado, charred octopus, bread with olive tapenade, roasted Brussel sprouts and veal & pork meatballs. First ever yelp review but I have to let people know about this experience. PLEASE READ FOR YOUR SAFETY WARNING: CHEW SLOWLY. This is a picture of a coin that was in the bread ,which one of us almost swallowed while biting in. The manager came over, apologized, and told us they would "take care of the bread." The kicker? The bread was free, they had given it to us as a sorry for making us wait 30 minutes to be seated. Our reservation was at 8:30, and we weren't seated until 9:00. Which left our party of 6 awkwardly sitting at the bar. Keep in mind, the restaurant closes at 10. This left us constantly rushed by our waiter to order food. You would think this would mean quick service. WRONG. Some of our drinks didn't come out until after the appetizers, which we had ordered a good 10 minutes later, had already arrived. The manager did send out some free appetizers as an apology for the metal coin in our food, but they sent out their worst ones. They were definitely the leftovers they had in the back they wanted to get ride of before they close. We hardly touched them, and they kept asking if we wanted boxes to take them home. The cherry on top? We were here to celebrate a birthday, and the restaurant couldn't even comp the $15 tiny cake we ordered for dessert. And for the price we barely got any food on our plate. The one good plate we did have was the crab buratta. Highly recommend it from the appetizers. I think about 75 percent of the menu was gluten free (which is great) and the server was very good about asking for dietary restrictions. We tried several different dishes. I had the voodoo gin cocktail. If you don't like sweet, which I don't, it is great. Good flavor, presentation, and strong. For apps we had the charred octopus and meatballs. The octopus was cooked perfectly and both were seasoned well. I ordered the boaranaise pasta with gluten free noodle. Loved the seasoning on this and while I thought the noodle was slightly overcooked I prefer it that was to the sometimes too hard gluten free noodle that can be provided at other restaurants. For the main, we split the wagyu. It was cooked perfectly but needed a little more seasoning. We had the kale as a side dish. It wasn't the best dish to order as a side to the wagyu since the wagyu comes with a similar veggie mix. Definitely will come back. read more

Very disappointed with the experience. We had a reservation made two weeks in advance, but when we arrived, we were made to wait over 30 minutes despite several open tables. The manager was not only unhelpful but downright rude and dismissive when we inquired about the delay. We were spoken to with complete disrespect, and no effort was made to accommodate us or explain the situation. Ultimately, we had to leave without being seated. This was supposed to be a special evening, and the way we were treated was unacceptable. The service is incredible, the food is inventive, tasty and comes to share. The Casarecce a Giallo and the focaccia is HIGHLY recommended. We also had the Wagyu Short Ribs, which will melt in your mouth. My one and ONLY complaint is the music. It is LOUD and just doesn't seem to fit the ambiance of the restaurant. This review is a long time coming. My husband and I have been to Sister twice, the most recent visit being in June of 2024, and I can confidently say that it is my favorite restaurant in all of Dallas (a high mark I know). Sister is a restaurant that spectacularly unpretentious despite its high price tag and air of semi-formality. I think this can be attributed to the fact that they are aiming to create an environment that feels almost familial from the mismatched plates to the greenery that makes you feel as though you've been dropped into a Midsummer Night's Dream. Regardless of the fact that we are two teachers we've never felt unwelcome or out of place. But even the feeling the restaurant gives would not be enough if the food did not also fill you with the same joyfulness that comes with the twinkle lights and plush seating. The food is that good too. The first time we went my husband ordered a cocktail that wasn't on the menu and that was delivered by the bartender themselves to see how he liked it and then engage in a conversation about the drink. This care and attention is given to all the food you will devour. We always start with the Lobster Burrata which is fantastically well-balanced and light, the perfect way to start a meal that will then be filled with as much pasta as you can stomach. In June we followed the Burrata with a Rock Shrimp dish that is no longer on the menu and the Pesto Fusilli. The Pesto Fusilli I would get again in a heartbeat, although it does require you to be a large fan of goat cheese. The goat cheese becomes one of the dominant flavors of the dish, so if you aren't a fan I would avoid the dish altogether, leaving it off would simply not be the same. We ended the night with another dish no longer on the menu, a goat cheese cheesecake (see big fan). What I will say; however, is that we have never ordered anything from the "larger" section so I can't speak to how good any of those dishes are. Nevertheless if you want a restaurant that will make a Houstonian say "I LOVE Dallas" at the end of the meal or to make your evening feel like you've slipped into a place where time has no meaning. I came back with a smaller group of people and had a really great experience. The highlights of the night included how great all of the service staff was. Our server gave such great advice on how to order, what to send out first, and gave me plenty of options for vegetarian dishes and each time one was brought out she let me know if I was able to taste it or not. We ordered more family style then got our own "larger plates" or "pastas" which I loved. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get more pictures of each dish since we dug in so quickly! The stars: focaccia (a must), potatoes, and the zucchini special. The olive tapenade that comes with the focaccia was arguably my favorite part of the evening. I would drown myself in this if I could. The only let down: we were so looking forward to the beet and avocado salad, but unfortunately most of us didn't love it. It was a little too vinegar-y for my taste, although if you love the flavor of beets I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than we did. We were disappointed because all the reviews said it was a must order! Honorable mentions: Brussel sprouts and green goddess Cesar salad. Both were great but more expected dishes compared to the others. My entree was the clams vongole with mushrooms substituted at the advice of the server (see picture). I really enjoyed it and the kick of the red pepper flakes, but I was so full from the rest of the food I didn't get to finish it! Luckily it was still delicious as left overs. We also shared some desserts, the chocolate olive oil cake was delicious but so rich, and the banana pudding was delicious. My family and I came here on a Saturday evening. Our party of four consisted of two children under 8, my spouse, and myself. We ordered two appetizers (foccaccia, cauliflower), three entrees (pasta with speck, short rib, Moroccan spiced chicken), and a dessert (panna cotta), and had leftovers for a light meal the next day. Every single server we encountered was extremely attentive: making sure our waters were filled, bringing plastic cups for our children, moving a candle off the table, checking food allergies, etc. All the food was excellent. I particularly enjoyed my order of short rib, and the foccaccia was outstanding. My spouse finished the Moroccan chicken (I didn't like it as much only because I am not a fan of chicken breast, nothing against the preparation itself). The children filled up on bread so didn't eat as much pasta as we thought they would, but the adults liked it. The lemon panda cotta was a hit for all. Sister is a worthy successor to The Grape, and was wonderfully accommodating of both our young children and their food allergies. We would definitely be thrilled to dine there again! read more

With the windows up, no heaters or blankets, I spent most of my birthday dinner using my napkin as a lap blanket. It's so hard to enjoy your dinner when you are cold and still wearing your coat to keep somewhat warm. Absolutely wish that there was a way to make a reservation for inside versus patio dining as many other restaurants offer. We made the reservation a month ahead right when spots opened and would not have booked something on the patio had we known. My friends loved the sausage. I was a fan of the grilled octopus, great texture and flavor ! i likes that it was precut so you got the smokiness from the chargrill in every bite and made it easy to share. sides: we obtained the brussel sprouts with bacon. The associated jam was good. I personally like my Brussels crispy, but still had good flavor. I would get another vegetable on repeat visit, probably brócoli or truffle potatoes that my waitress raved about! Pasta: my favorite dish! Sooooo hearty and flavorful. The pasta was cooked perfectly and they soak the mushrooms in wine and it shows. They were so flavorful. Such a standout. Would order again and again. Main: Moroccan chicken. To be completely honest I'm not a fan of Moroccan flavors. But this chicken was delicious. It was SO JUICY AND TENDER. simple but very flavorful. This place is amazing! The dining area is actually pretty small so I would recommend making reservations in advance if possible. The whole restaurant was pretty full all night! I had a large group of 14 and when I called to make a reservation, the host told me they don't do large parties at the end of the week probably due to how busy they get. So we did 2 tables of 7 each. Generally, the largest party would be 6 but the host was able to accommodate 7 per table if we didn't mind it being a little tight. I was very appreciative that the host was so helpful! I really didn't want to leave Dallas without trying Sister! Okay, now onto the food! Every single dish was absolutely divine (with the exception of one dish, the Brussels sprouts which were overcooked). One dish that I was most excited for was the beet and avocado salad. I don't know what it is but if a restaurant offers a beets dish, I'm ordering it! And the one at Sister surpassed my expectations! Everyone at the table couldn't stop raving about it! The second dish that was spectacular was the clam pasta! It's so hard to describe this dish. I was expecting a super basic clam linguine flavor but this was completely different! Service: I sat at the bar so I had the pleasure of mostly interacting with the bartenders. Friendly and attentive and made some recommendations when I had questions. Room: A bonus for this service because I also did get the drink that allows you to stay in one of their rooms for the night. A beautiful retro style room that comes complete with delivery service of any of the venues restaurants. They really went all out to make it feel like a mini resort.
