We've driven by this place a million times and never checked it out. Today was the day!!! I haven't had service this great in a very long time. Our server, Kenadie M, was spectacular. She let us know everything new that they offered and was very patient while we looked over the menu. She checked in on us throughout and we had everything we needed. The food was great! I had the Orleans Omlette with the dirty rice. My husband had the build your own skillet. Our meals were amazing and we can't wait to go back. I love that it's a neighborhood spot with candles, can koozies, and several pickled items for purchase. Very reasonably priced, great staff, amazing energy, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!!!

We visited here for breakfast and it was quite popular but we were able to get a seat without having to wait. Prices are high and portions are small. The coffee was good and the biscuit and gravy had a wonderful flavor with slight accents of potato and thick gravy but unfortunately it was a little too small. The atmosphere is your standard coffee shop with kind of a hip whimsical flare.

Looks are deceiving! When you drive by it appears like it's a small corner restaurant in a plaza but this location has plenty of seating and even an option for outdoor seating. Lots of choices and service was super friendly and attentive. The grits were creamy but the saltiness of the sausage I think overpowered the dish. My SIL said the chicken and waffles lacked flavor unfortunately but my daughter said the pancake, eggs and potatoes were "bussin". We'll be back to try other dishes and for sure the mimosas.

Great food, great service! We were driving through and decided to try this place. I was pleasantly surprised. They have a good menu with a variety of food, some have a Louisiana touch like corn bread with rice and beans with andouille sausage. I made my own veggie omelette with really good crispy potatoes and a warm biscuit. In other places that I've had omelettes they tend to be thin and flat with the veggies inside like a taco. However, here they make it correctly, the veggies are mixed in with the eggs. The portions are filling. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. There's plenty of party since it's in a strip mall. It's clean and has funny signs and even menu items like the man-mosa. It was a very pleasant experience.

Came in this morning for our first time here and the place was poppin'! We sat at the bar because my pregnant self wasn't wanting to wait for a table; it wound up being so nice and the bartender was fun to talk to. We both really enjoyed our food and the vibes inside. I stuck to chocolate milk this morning, but the coffees looked so good. Look forward to coming back! Also, the restroom was clean.

The food is great. I've gone twice now, zero complaints! Cinnamon roll pancakes, boudin balls whichever omelette I ordered, and even basic breakfast, potatoes nice and crisp, all was delicious. Service was quick, even on a Saturday morning! Cute theme, even the merch is fun! Will be returning! Great prices on carafes!!

Great service, Tristan checked in me often, that is good....but the food was not good!! I chose my first visit I chose the Classic scrambled eggs, grits, bacon French toast cause my first time. Greasy seems old bacon was just not tasty at all. I didn't finish it crispy that I requested. That's fine but to greasy use my napkins to get get grease seems been sitting in old grease. Oh, you would think that grits would be easy but not the case. Oh I put more butter, pepper, and I even add more salt and it still couldn't eat the rest of it. Mushy mushy mushy.! The eggs were OK, could've been hotter. It's a small business. It wasn't that that busy and then I shouldn't have chosen it., The toast wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best again not hot temperature and a weird color of the French toast. well at least I tried, but I won't be back.

Wonderful! The coffee flows well here! I had the veggie omelet, with added cheese, side fruit, and toast. The omelet was generously sized, and the fruit had berries. It was better than expected. Highly recommend! The service was excellent fast and friendly. I hope to come back next time we're in the area.

Good food, sushi is always tasty, service is always decent. If you don't go in the evenings on the weekend, it is normally not too loud.

Ordered to-go on a busy Saturday morning... Chicken & Waffles and a stack of pancakes. When I unpackaged the items at home, I noticed they forgot to provide me with several items. I ordered the pancakes Berry Amaretto style, asking for the sauce & berries on the side. They left out the berries. I also asked for "a few sides of spicy syrup," but they only gave me one. The pancakes by themselves weren't anything special. I could honestly get the same thing for cheaper from a fast food establishment. The chicken was super dry & rubbery, with rhe middle so hard I wouldn't be surprised if it was pre-frozen. The waffles were also nothing spectacular - the type you expect from a commercial motel breakfast. There was no flavor to anything! Everything tasted like stale batter. Less than mediocre. Overpriced for basic & DISAPPOINTING.

Happy Monday Foodies! Brunch with Hubby this AM was delicious. Dirty Rice, Crispy Bacon and Shrimp and Grits. Hubby loved his shrimp and grits and it was for a good price. The Dirty Rice is always tasty. Service was very attentive, food came out quickly.

Been twice now during the Saturday morning rush and we've had a great time so far. The hosts were cordial and the server was very attentive. I'm terrible with names, I believe Ashley (?) served us both times and had great recommendations. I've tried the Pork and Grits, and The Crazy Cajun, a Benedict with a boudin ball. Both were Deeeelish! You want something sweet? Go for the pancakes, they're tasty too! This last time I ordered a single banana brûlée pancake to nibble on the side and believe me when I tell you that thing tasted like all the best parts of banana bread topped with whipped cream and bananas. The please is quiet with the usual "hum" of a hometown diner. They also a nice patio tucked away around the corner from the entrance. We haven't sad outside yet but look forward to it when the weather cools in the far. We always leave full, happy and excited to return! read more

I gave 2 stars for the service (our server was so sweet!) but the food was awful. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and it tasted like it was made a day or two prior then reheated in the microwave, then added freshly cooked eggs to it. The chicken friend steak was cold and had a rubbery texture. We also had the gumbo and that was microwaved as well. Neither one of our meals tasted fresh minus the eggs on my CFS. I wouldn't recommend going to Sizzle & Brew for the food but if you wanted a coffee and good service then check them out. read more

Sadly, downgraded this from a solid 5 to a 3. We've been bringing friends here for years because of how excellent the food and service are. I don't eat eggs and we are always looking for a breakfast place that will substitute something. This place did that for years, and that's why we kept coming across Houston for brunches. We tip well, we order drinks, and we order a la Carte. The only thing I've ever asked are for some potatoes instead of eggs. Today, Alyssa told us that wasn't something she could do. I told her that'd unfortunate. My wife would later tell her that this would likely mean we stop coming in. It was only then that she offered to ask about a substitution. I had my heart set on the biscuits and gravy and ended up with a Cuban sandwich that tasted like mustard and bread. I'll honestly miss sizzle and brew. It really is a shame that a 15 cent substitution was important enough to lose our money. Thanks for the good years! read more

Our waitress Heather D was pleasant and accommodating. She recommended several of their specialties and she was very attentive. Our food was very satisfying and the mimosas were wonderful. Good Morning! I was wanting to get on and recommend Sizzle and Brew(corner of Spring Cypress and N Eldridge) after eating there this morning. It is a small homey restaurant that delivered on service and food quality. The waitress was very attentive without being overbearing and our orders were delivered correctly. All the food we got was delicious! My wife got the Cajun Eggs Benedict and I got the Biscuit and Gravy Stack. The flavors in both were perfect. The home fries were some of the best I have had! The kids meals were also great! For 6.99 the kids got a waffle, choice of meat, eggs and fruit. We will definitely be back! Please come try and support this restaurant, I want it to stick around!! read more

I should have listened to the reviews and we would have saved ourselves disappointment, frustration and stress along with a poor meal. We enjoy going out for coffee or breakfast after mass on Sunday. Cute place, decorated nicely plus it has outdoor seating and the location was spot on. Upon walking in, at least 4 counter people just looked at us. All of them standing around and just looking at us! OOOOKKKKK. Shortly we were seated and not only did we feel like we were sitting in the middle of a busy street, but the tables were so close together the waitstaff had a hard time accessing interior tables and we might as well have been sitting with our neighbors. Our waitress Misty, was very friendly and helpful. Told her exactly how I wanted my eggs done, hard poached, 6 minutes. How hard can that be? Apparently difficult. I told her PLEASE don't bring "wiggly eggs". Yup, eggs showed up "wiggling". Sent them back. Meanwhile I told my husband to eat his breakfast, no sense in his getting cold. A while later here comes my breakfast again. Yup, eggs were-a- "wiggling". This time I put my knife thru them since I didn't want them showing up microwaved. I was so disappointed I was trying to tell the waitress to just forget it, I didn't want the frustration. She was very apologetic and whisked my plate away to correct it. She did bring my dish back with the toast and boudin so I could eat something. I had to eat sooooo sloooowwww cause who wants to eat eggs without their meat and toast accompanied companions. They did finally show up done correctly (see, I just KNEW it could be done), however the damage had been done. I certainly don't need that kind of frustration and stress, especially on a weekend. The real kicker was our waitress told us the owner was the one that came and filled our coffee! Really, and you don't say anything????? Now that I can't accept. I certainly wasn't looking for a free meal but that should have been accompanied with AT THE LEAST, an apology. read more

Nestled in the corner of this strip mall is a true gem. Eggs over medium is always a crap shoot, but my eggs came out PERFECT!! The potatoes were out of this world and the pancake that came with the meal was not only huge but super flavorful. Great place! read more

The food is quite amazing. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the chicken fried steak was very legit. This business has been operating since 2018, but they are hidden away. If you're looking for a great way to start your day, I enthusiastically recommend this place. Service staff was friendly and on top of everything. I would rate 6-stars if they allowed it. read more

My family and I had Sizzle and Brew for brunch. Me and my boys had blueberry pancakes. They were great. There were a little on the thicker side and fluffy. These also had the perfect about of blueberries. I also had eggs medium, they were cooked perfectly. My boys really liked the sausage. My husband got the stacked biscuits and gravy. He said it was very good. Would recommend and will definitely come here again. read more

We had hopes for this place. As others have noted , service is slow. Very slow. Our food was good. I had the Eggs Benedict and they were delicious. But, the presentation was not eyepopping. Nobody came around to offer a coffee refill until I had finished my meal. Lots of staff just standing around. Not certain that we will return. read more

So my wife and I have been to sizzle and brew twice now. The first visit our meal was comped because there was a hair on my food. The only reason I am writing this review is because I know mistakes happen and I want to give them a chance to redeem themselves. Unfortunately, they failed miserably. The food is ok, overall. It's the cleanliness of the establishment. First time I had a hair in the food, second time I had a dirty coffee mug and a dirty French toast plate. The staff is nice, but this doesn't make up for the fact that they haven't cleaned their dishes properly. Also, I got my coffee about 2 minutes before I got my food. $3 for "a" cup of coffee... never again. Stay away from the wait and the uncleanliness. read more

The service was wonderful and very attentive. I went with my family to taste it out and loved the food. I got the blueberry french toast and didn't even want to share it with my family. My brother got the egg benedict and found them "delicious." My aunt said the chicken fried stake is a honorable mention. Would recommend this place and definitely would come again. read more

We wanted some brunch and this place had good reviews. They had a line so they could write your down on the waiting list. Line was moving smoothly, we were the last ones in that line. When we got to the desk the waitress didn't say anything to us. Then a man came up behind us and she asked him how he was and what she could do for him. My boyfriend told her we were there first, waiting, she said "didn't see you guys" and proceeded to talk to the man. I'll just say we were the only Hispanics in there. read more

Chicken and Waffles pretty good and my wife really liked the waffles. My Orleans Omelet was awesome! Had BBQ Shrimp and andouille sausage. You also get toast or biscuit. I got the whole wheat toast which was nice and thick. You can get grits or Cajun potatoes as well. The omelette filled me up and I'm a big guy. read more

Got there at about 8 a.m. and we were promptly seated by one of the three hostesses. The menu was large and had a great selection. Both Benedict's were delicious but the Cajun in one in particular was amazing. The restaurant was clean and the order came out in about 10 minutes. Staff came by multiple times during the battle to make sure coffee and water was topped off. Really good experience! read more

Excellent breakfast, great coffee! Good service and good value for your money. I had an egg white omelette with no cheese. It was fluffy and full of wonderful fresh veggies, so sad I couldn't finish it though. Bacon was meaty and done perfectly. My dining mates' meals looked awesome. One had biscuits and gravy with a big ol' slice of ham. He finished every bite and said it was excellent. The place was full on a Sunday morning, so I don't get people saying the place is empty or just a few tables occupied. Doesn't that happen sometimes? Ever heard of 'the lunch rush'? Our service was good. Another server was happy to fill in if I needed something and my server was busy. Food was hot, establishment was clean as were the bathrooms. Keep up the good work! read more

For the appetizer, we tried the sautéed calamari and gumbo. The calamari had a nice creamy garlic sauce which paired well the sautéed bell pepper, onions, and tender calamari. Their gumbo is solid, not too spicy and had nicely cooked rice and a mix of toppings. The rice had a good bite and absorbed the flavor from the gumbo well. I would recommend the sautéed calamari. For entrees, we ordered the wild caught king clip and steak Diane. The very buttery king clip comes with sautéed spinach and is basted in a creamy, slightly lemony sauce which compliments both elements of the dish. The kingclip is garnished with micro greens and comes with an extra lemon for additional acidity, but I felt that it wasn't needed. The steak Diane had a medium cook and was soooo tender to the bite. I like this place. Been there 3 or 4 times and the food had always been great. The staff has a feeling of sincerity about them, but they are nice too. They have way more drink options than any breakfast place I've been to, and the ambiance is always quiet and relaxed, not with TV's blaring or anything like that. I highly suggest incorporating cushioned seats and an eye-catching feature of interest to the room, such as a fountain or fun chandelier or fish tank to liven it up a bit, but it is a great place to eat, even without it.
