We love the salad bar all you can eat with a variety fruits, vegetables, soups, their hot fresh dinner rolls, their tender juicy steak, seafood and great service. We have been to many sizzlers in southern California we moved from County of San Bernardino and never did we experienced poor food quality, poor food variety and bad service on Real Road/ California, we rather go to the sizzler on Mt.Vernon coming from south west area along with other friends that live south west, it's happened few times hoping for changes after complaining but no change. read more

When I went to sizzler for the thousandth time with my mother we both left with a smile on our face. The food was great as always, drinks were refreshing, but what stood out to me most was the customer service. Never asked for a refill of water once or their classic cheese toast for that matter! I was helped out by a waitress named Michelle, she was an absolute joy to have as a waitress. On my way home to Vegas my family and I took a food stop here to have an affordable family style sit down meal. The environment was professional and relaxing. I really enjoyed that they still have baked potatoes and the salad bar because we were ready to eat! Our server, Ana was very professional and helpful. She was quick and very attentive. we went to the sizzler on real rd and everything has changed and i will never go back. the food was awful and not much of a salad bar anymore. the clam chowder was okay but cold the prices are too high for the salad bar and not much to choose from the crab salad was sour and the fruit salad was really sour. asked for a medium steak and it was raw and bloody. between the 3 of us we are very disappointed. read more

I have been going to Sizzlers for years, both in L.A. and Bakersfield and am a fan. I have been here several times with wife and other family members with no issues and wonderful service. Our last visit we had a server named Michelle who was perfect! I wish we could take her everywhere with us. I only wish they could figure out a way to make that 6 oz. steak served with the all you can eat shrimp a little less tough to cut and chew. Otherwise no complaints from family members on their meals. The area its in has steadily gone downhill but no worse than some of the other places in town. Would recommend. read more

We visited this location for my daughters birthday. We found our server Mirna to be friendly and attentive. She got us everything we needed and kept our drinks full. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the cheesy bread was the best I've ever tasted! My grandson loved the kids selections of Mac and cheese and spaghetti, and the fruit selections on the salad bar was outstanding! After we were done, Mirna and her team brought my daughter a birthday sundae and sang happy birthday to her. My daughters and I went to this restaurant and we had the best server. Her name is Michelle. She is Soo very pleasant and has a very bubbly way of making you comfy. My hubby and I go to Sizzlers every once in a while. I always get the salad bar and since he turned 60 he has been getting something from the senior menu with the salad bar. Yeah, he's old...;-) Anyway, this is the first for this one. My likes: the manager came to the table and asked if everything was okay. I told him the chicken was too dry. The wait staff was very friendly and smiled a lot, they were quick with the plates and extra toast. My husband liked clam chowder (I didn't) I liked the shrimp louie salad and pretty much everything at the salad bar. What we didn't like: they carry your tray to your table, and I'm not talking about a wait person, but the person at the counter taking your money! So, while they wander around the restaurant looking for where you sat, the rest of the customers wait that much longer in line. Totally unnecessary! I can carry a tray, or get on of the wait staff to do that. The chicken was dry, as stated above. I saw not a single clam in the chowder, tasted like potato chowder to me. (I used to live on the east coast so...) They use the cheap ice cream mix for the soft serve, so it has that lumpy look and milky taste, I like my soft serve to be smooth and creamy! It took a full 20 minutes for my husband to get his 6 shrimp and rice. No exaggeration, I looked at the ticket to see when it was ordered and it was twenty three minutes actually! The place was not crowded. The berry cobbler didn't look great, but I tried it anyway just in case. It tastes like it looked. Cobbler should have a crispy, crunchy crust to it, this crust was lumpy and mushy and tasted kinda bland and slimy. The berries underneath were ok, but the crust made me a little queasy. Otherwise, the meal was ok, just to be expected at a Sizzler. PS I haven't eaten steak here in years, not their forte, the Malibu chicken is not great either, I'd stick with the salad bar. read more

Just not what it used to be....I remember looking forward to that cheesy bread yummyness....and when they brought it to the table it just looked like fake butter on cheap bread. Tasted like it too!!! The salad bar used to be amazing, somehow it seems like the salad lady got lazy and everything is so big...not chopped or cut small enough for salad making. Options seems to have decreased. The one thing they seem to do well was my steak....which is good since that is what they are suppose to be doing. I haven't been able to get to a sizzler for several years. I had good memories of the place as a child.The craving for a cold drink and a salad brought me back. They seat you pretty quick. Make you pay for the meal upfront. So how you tip with a credit card according to how good your waitress is, is not possible. The food... Some how they messed up a salad. The veggies are hard. I mean there wet, they look fresh but their hard. Like poor quality or canned veggies. I usaully get all kinds of things on my salad. When I was finished making what looks like a very good salad. I realized it lacks flavor. Everything just lacked taste. It was like salty wet crispy slop. The ham was not something you serve on your dinner table. It had this odd rubber soft feel to it. Like it was processed to the end of the earth. I had to stop eating it... People I love food. If I had to stop eating it, then something was wrong. The hot bar had been down sized. Downsized to very cheap fried sub par food. Tried to make taco salad. I just ended up scrapping what I hope was ground beef of the bottom of my very greasy tostada shell for substance. I kept thinking had more options. Like this bar has to have something to offer. It was like all those years of sizzlers net losses was staring me in the face. I looked around and saw people having the time of their life. Plates double triple stacked. With what I thought. I don't know? Finally the steak. It's pre packaged. Trust me... It's pre packaged. So it is preseasoned and of low grade. cut. You can say rare... you can say well. No matter what you say, the 20 year old under paid cook is Going to give you what he thinks you need.... Had lunch with my brother and nephew today. Asked for 2 senior salad bars and 1 regular. It was 10.99 for the regular salad bar and 12.49 for each of the senior salad bars, which included a "free" drink, which we did not want, only drink water. When I asked the manager about it she said the drink was 1.50, that is not free. So if you deducted the 1.50 it is 10.99 each, the EXACT same price as the regular salad bar, that is not a senior discount or a very good way to do business. To top it off the food was mediocre and the choices were very limited. Should have saved money and had a lot better food and went to Hometown Buffet. read more

My family and I ate there on Sunday for lunch. 3 of us ordered the salad bar. I guess they raised their prices because for the lunch salad bar it was over $11 without the cost of a drink. Cheese toast was hard. Salad was small and didn't have what it says it should have. My portion size for my food was so small! The main ingredient (mashed potatoes) was so small the mushrooms looked huge. The onions on it were so soggy. I had to clean my fingers after touching them. I visited this restaurant on March 1 2019 and that I was there with my whole family I am very disappointed to find hair in my food I asked to speak to the manager Amanda was her name and I showed her my play of my food and I point out to her the hair that I found in my food and I Aster to replace my food and I asked her that and for the courtesy that I found a hair in my food that I get the food for free and get a full refund and she said no basically she didn't care about me as a customer she was very rude and very unprofessional and people were watching her how rude she was to me knowing that I had just found a hair in my food so I do not recommend this restaurant to no one because they don't use hairnets when they're cooking your food and they do not wash their hands so if you want to get sick then go ahead and come to this restaurant and eat and Amanda I hope that they fire you because you do not belong as a manager you do not know how to take care of your customers and you do not care about customers so I hope sizzlers see this message because they're going to lose a lot of customers in Bakersfield because they have such a bad manager running in the restaurant Amanda read more

Just had lunch here and realized why I haven't been back in years. Service was poor. Took so long to ask for something. I can understand when it's busy and understaffed but there were only a few customers in our section of restaurant. The atmosphere also left something to be desired. Badly needs new carpet and seating. Decor really needs updating. The saving point was that the salad bar was very fresh and well stocked. Miss having a salad bar ever since Garden Spot closed. 8.6.15 We were pleasantly surprised to find the food to be better than we expected, and the service was great. I ordered the 6 oz. Sirloin Steak with Chicken Fettuccine and Mashed Potatoes. My "rare" steak ended up in between, "rare" and "medium rare", but that's ok, I prefer medium rare steak anyways. (Normally restaurants around here tend to overcook the meat; hence, why I decided to order a level down --- that's just my little tip.) Anyways, I thought the steak tasted simple and juicy, while my Chicken Fettuccine was bit mediocre. Because instead of linguine pasta, it came out as penne and the sauce seemed watery, like something you would expect from a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner box. At least the broccoli tasted fresh and not overcooked. Now the biggest disappointment came from the side of, "mashed potatoes" that looked AND tasted dry. In fact, it seemed like the took an ice cream scooper, hollowed out a cold baked potato, and placed in on my plate. Not even the side of goopy gravy could save it. Let's see... Their clam chowder tasted pretty good and it went heavenly with their complimentary Cheese Toast. The ones that ordered unlimited Crispy Shrimp seemed to enjoy it, commenting that they were, "bite-sized." However, it was a bit of a wait when one of them ordered another serving. So to wrap this all up: -Order a degree of doneness lower than preferred for steak -Just order a Baked Potato instead of mashed -Try out their Clam Chowder with their Cheese Toast -And if you get unlimited shrimp, order another serving ahead of time to shorten your wait read more
