This is the worst place ever. Took my whole family when my kids n son in law ordered steak , they wanted medium rare what the got was was really almost burned. Then the waitress took it back and the gave them the steak almost right out of the freezer. My husband asked for barbecue ribs they were boiled and they just smeared the barbecue. So I finally visited the place after reading so many bad reviews. I had the $11.99 lunch salad bar, which has a good enough variety of salad, hot food, soup, drinks n desert. The food, is what you pay for at $11.99. So yea, I wasn't expecting super quality or premium dishes. The atmosphere, is clean and tidy. Maybe because there wasn't as many people there before noon? Regardless I felt comfortable in the environment. The service, was really good! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by Mallory with a smile. I had a few questions about how the order works, and she took her time to explain and also give suggestions. Really appreciated there. After I sat down, my server Manuel came to greet and asked if I wanted garlic bread. Yes please! Then of course I was on my own getting food. Each dish or bowl I finished, it'd be cleared off the table right away. While I was eating, I looked around to see cooks coming out to check on the salad bar, testing temperature and clearing the spill on the sides. Even saw the hostess help out with some tidying, as she's next to the salad dressing area. One of the reviews I've read from a considerate customer, was "please tip your server". Oh man.. how unfair it is that you just pay your meal all at once and disregard the service they provide you. I left some tips for both my hostess and server. It wasn't much but I would like them to know I'm thankful and enjoyed my meal even more because of them! My stars for the food should be 4 (hey! Again, this is 11.99 ayce). But the service really made my experience worthwhile. And it makes me sad to see unforgiving people giving 1 star reviews. I hope the company really do something about the tipping issue. My husband and I went to Sizzler on Monday! I ordered my food and my husband gets a salad bar , I think this waitress was having a bad day! But she didn't offer my husband extra plates. She never got my drink until after my food, but she did get another customer his drink even though we got there first! She was was not pleasant at all she should not be working with the public! No personality no smile! You feel like you can't bother her! So I didn't tip her because she needs to learn how to make customers feel welcome and happy!!!! I love that they have turkey meat for their taco bar. You really don't see that often. The restaurant itself is still nice and clean unlike most Sizzler locations. I was excited when this Sizzler location opened in Chatsworth, CA some years ago (near Mason & Devonshire, Northwest side in the business plaza). Having eaten there at that location on average three times per week (prior to the COVID scare), frequenting their All You Can Eat (AYCE) Salad Bar. However, I also enjoyed other alacarte style meals, and have been frequenting Sizzler locations for at least 38 years, primarily in the San Fernando Valley and when I travel. Excited to eat there at the Chatsworth, CA location once again (Tuesday, 18 MAY 2021 early evening / the Servers are fine overall), ordering the 6oz Tri-Tip, baked potato and adding AYCE fried shrimp (two orders of the same, for my Mother and myself). I'm going to say that I don't even think our steaks were Tri-Tip, rather, some other cut like a Flat Iron or Skirt, possibly. Our Server asked us to cut into our meat to ensure they were cooked / grilled as requested (which they were). First indication upon that exploratory cut should have been the key indication (rubbery and tough). Both of our steaks also appeared the same (leaning towards grayish in color). Small for only 6oz cuts, yet that isn't my primary reason for this post. Tough, chewy, and my fault for not saying anything on behalf of both our dinners (again, same exact items ordered). The Owner/Operator (or one of them), would usually be hanging out, sitting at one of the nearby tables and engaging as needed. Either he wasn't there at that moment (trying to be fair with that as an example, not an expectation to his presence), or, he doesn't want to hear feedback which is critical of his franchise. Recap: - Two 6oz (supposedly Tri-Tips), tough, chewy and grayish in color. I think our steaks were other cuts, like Flat Iron or Skirt (definitely a poor quality cut), though unsure. - Lastly, no stomach pain, though my Mother and I have both had multiple bowel movements since dinner last night (diarrhea), which may have been from the fried shrimp (though it didn't taste or smell "fishy"). Prices were going up long prior to the COVID scare (my main attraction, AYCE Salad Bar). It will be a while before I decide to return to this neighborhood location. If I do, I'll post again. The pictures I took only tell part of the story. The steak and lobster and the steak and crispy JUMBO shrimp was nothing short of a fiasco. I was brought here by a dear friend as a thank you for taking him to the hospital. We both did not have breakfast and it was pushing 1:30 PM. By the time any food was served it was well past 2 PM. The steaks were both tiny barely 3 Oz each and only a 1/4" at best and this is being generous. The meat was ordered medium, it was served well done and dry. The life was cooked out of them. The meat for both was so overly salted you felt like you were licking a salt block that cows use in the field. The lobster was barely acceptable, a rubbery texture with no butter served with it. The French fries were a disaster. I like Mine well done with no salt and my friend likes it as is normally done with salt. The portion was appalling. I think there was About 18 French fries per plate. We had to ask for condiments. What sort of steak place does not have or bring out all the condiments when your food arrives. The drink mango lemonade was awful the syrup was not mixed when the drinks were brought out to us. Our beverage glares were mixed up and fortunately my friend recalled that he submerged his mint sprig. At a restaurant I don't want to be drinking out of someone else's glass. The crispy fried JUMBO shrimp were mostly batter and over cooked. The shrimp was of medium size that was butterflied. The sauce served with it was all of about 1.5 tablespoons And you are asking why didn't you call this to the attention of the server or staff???? Well he and the staff were nowhere to be found. Finally at the end of the meal (halfway for me as I could barely handle eating the food) the server stops by and ask how is things. Funny how at most eating establishments the server checks in with you many times during a meal bu at sizzler of the times I have been it averaged about 3 to four visits during the meal. He served asked how was the food and I said what occurred. He said but your friend finished his food. I wanted to say, look here buddy my friend hasn't eaten in 24 hours due to the medical tests he had done. He would eat just about anything out in front of him. I forced myself to eat as I am known as being particular with my food (yes I speak up when I am the host). The manager offered to replace one meal and we said we had no intent on coming back and finally he agreed to have us back and replace the entire meal. So he scribbled in the receipt something and said don't loose the receipt. When I got home the receipt just had the word OK and his initials. As if the cashier is going to accept that as a meal replacement notation. I called the store and asked for the manager and said who I was. The clerk put me on hold and came back to tell me the manager was too busy to come to the phone. I asked for his name and told the clerk I am adding his name to the receipt and the words Total meal replacement to the receipt. He said that should be ok. I hope that another fiasco does not ensue over the poorly written offer to have us back. I kinda of don't want to go back as the reviews on here do not sound promising. This location is more expensive than other ones. One of the booths is a "desk" for the owner or manager to use to do paperwork. Very tacky. A true foodie knows that sizzler is a true gem when it comes to satisfaction and the main thing comes down to whether the employees are on point or not. This sizzler continues to impress me time and time again. The best time to go easily between 11-4 Mon through Friday for that lunch special. What makes me like this place so much is the huge salad bar, taco maker section, ice cream, and unlimited refills on drinks which you get yourself. The service is always on point. When I need cheese bread, the servers are always quick and fast to get my order in and they are always happy to refill it as well. I really love this place especially when I'm hangry and definitely suggest it to people who want a big meal and to enjoy it. Don't forget they also serve burgers and steaks which are pretty darn amazing as well read more

haven't been to a Sizzler in years and after today's experience, it makes sense why they're losing business. The "hostess" was a young lady who called over two customers (who came in after us and were behind us in line) to take their order and ring them up while we had been waiting in line, literally right in front of her. I hate to accuse anyone of discriminatory behavior, but the folks that clearly came in after us were the "right" kind of people while being a person of color will unfortunately get you mistreatment. When I questioned why she let those folks cut us, she said she wasn't aware we had been standing in front of her the entire time. Even the people that cut us felt awkward about it, but seems the hostess dictates and is responsible for who eats there. If you're looking to be discriminated against then this Sizzler's location is certainly for you. Soup kitchens don't even exhibit this level of exclusivity. I've been to this Sizzler 3 times now. Generally the service and food have been pretty good, and the price is OK compared to competitors such as Outback. However, my last visit on 12/18/22, the steak quality was poor and full of gristle. In the bigger picture, I'm noticing a decline in quality of meat products across the board at "average" restaurant chains such as Denny's, Boston Market, and now Sizzler. Denny's bacon, for instance, has become very low grade in general; Boston Market, even a couple years ago, the chicken pieces had become very small and much lower grade, and now, the steak at Sizzler was not acceptable quality. It didn't used to be this way. Quality of meat was taken for granted and expected. This is a sign of the times; restaurants in this "everyday people" class are compromising quality for the bottom line. The quality-of-life divide is getting wider on every front, and we are taking the brunt of it. read more

Sizzler restaurant (20557 in Chatsworth) is a mess, and unorganized, and especially its manager Douglas is very rude. I received a text message that my order is ready, I drove 10 minutes to get there and after 15 minutes of listening to their stories I found out they mixed up my in-store pick-up order with doordash delivery orders, I was frustrated and canceled the order, he was not even sorry for the mistake and wasting my time, he couldn't refund my money as well. This is the nicest sizzler I have ever been to. Everything was really modern. As usual, there were tons of great veggies to put on my salad. The broccoli cheddar soup was amazing. I ordered a steak with cilantro rice and the rice was so incredibly bland. I took it home and put a bunch of seasoning on it and I still couldn't eat it. I will definitely come back but I was a little miffed by the service. We like to come here about twice a month for the salad bar lunch. Most of the employees are very friendly and customer service oriented. However, invariably there seems to be one or two people at the very first booth next to the entrance on their laptops and/or cell phones watching videos with the volume loud enough to be heard throughout the restaurant! What's more disturbing is that these people appear to be employees! Why in the world would an employee (or two) be so blatantly goofing off on the job, not to mention simultaneously irritating paying customers? That being said the workers are busting their humps and trying their hardest to get it straightened out. For $13.99 the managers special is Sirloin Tips. It's served in rice and comes a baked potato. And it INCLUDES salad bar and beverage. The food is excellent, tastey, and prompt. And then I had ice cream with toppings for dessert. Its not just about stuffing your face with mediocre food. Love this place I used to go to the one in Santa Clarita. I came here on Veterans Day. I was waiting in line hearing some guy complaining that they should offer the Veterans Day meal all day. Well sorry sir they posted it for free meal for certain times. I'm a Veteran myself and so I knew that it was over so I didn't even bother to ask. I don't like going out and getting free stuff if I could afford it I'll pay for. It's for my fellow veterans that are going through a hard time. Thank you anyways for the gesture. So with that being said I order the ribeye medium rare and salad bar. The family order other stakes and burgers. The salad bar had no wings and other things like it used to oh well what can you do. The other items were good and fresh so I loved that. So I get my steak and I already knew it was over cooked. Cut into it and it was cooked well done what a bummer my wife's steak well done too. How can you mess this up it's such a good peace of meat. Like always I ate it no complaints. My family always ask why I don't say anything about it or send it back.
