I purposely came by for lunch after learning that the salad bar has reopened. I was first disappointed to learn that the Steak and Lobster was not available today because they had no lobster. Then came the Salad Bar. To my dismay, the Chicken Wings were not part of the salad bar now, only sold separately. That's been one of my favorites. My other favorite was having tacos, but there was no taco meat available, just a larger pan of beans. Even the ice cream machine/bar was not available either. It's a hot summer day and no ice cream for dessert and it didn't help that the air conditioning was not cooling the place either. We were hoping to get some "cool" AC but it ended up being "hot" ac :-( I'm not a big fan of chains but figured it's new, why not. BTW, it's my first time to ever try Sizzler in my life so I wasn't sure what to expect. Walk in, pay at the entrance, find a seat, food is served or salad bar. Hubby ordered the tri tip meal & a salad. I decided to try the grilled salmon w/cilantro lime rice. I took a bite of Hubby's trip tip and no comments. My salmon wasn't too bad. As we ate, it got hotter inside the restaurant. Hubby asked the waiter: "Don't you need to keep this place cool so your salad can remain as fresh as possible?" Waiter: "Sir, the AC is on but we're not sure why it's not cold?" I noticed customers came to Sizzler not for the meat nor the entree but for the salad bar. Portion sizes are this location are a joke. I realize that business is slow during Covid, but serving undersized food won't help you keep the customers you have. The business model of a Sizzler was always strange to me. It is the merging of a steak and lobster restaurant with the ordering procedure of a Carl's Jr. or the 90s when they had those salad bars. You walk in to this Sizzler and immediately are greeted with a set of cash registers and the menu on the wall and printed and posted below the cash registers. The seats are self seating as they are not busy, and assigned when it gets crowded. Once you sit down, the server brings your food, or you help yourself to the salad bar and drinks depending on what you ordered. The food itself is ok. The prices are definitely high for what you get. An entree plus the all you can eat salad bar and a beverage with tip will cost a single person over $30 most of the time. A "plus one" star to the albondigas soup (latino meatball soup) which has replaced the clam chowder as my favorite in the salad bar. My latino friend always calls it the "Al Bundy" soup. The potato salad and the imitation crab meat salads, although reformulated are old favorites on the salad bar menu. Sad to see some experimental dishes go like the "Kale Caesar Salad", and the iced coffee. From the times I've visited, however, I can say the salad bar area always looks clean, the greens always look fresh and washed, and the items are well stocked. Sometimes the carnitas look a little dry, but I guess it is the nature of that specific dish. Regarding the service, it is ok, and they try. However, they do make McDonald's level mistakes. For example, they made iced tea using coffee. How does one mistake tea leaves with coffee grinds? This is not exactly a bad thing, but for someone who was expecting tea, this is a surprise. (It's actually pretty good coffee by the way.) You also see from other yelpers that sometimes there is food still on the clean dishes and the bathroom isn't the most presentable of places. Food is as you expect, it's a paired down salad bar from their hay day; but the big problem is they have no air conditioning for a few weeks now, 100+ degree day and it's hotter inside. Mgt should buy a big fan or something while it's out, it's mesierable in here, I forgot it was broken my last visit a week ago,but never coming back until he winter. I grew up and have many fond memories of family dinners at Sizzler. Back in the day it was the spot lol! Graduation-Sizzler, Birthday-Sizzler, Holidays and special occasions-Sizzler! I remember it being a treat to go, but nowadays with so many specials, promos and good deals you don't have to wait for a special occasion. I came last week and didn't have the best experience. The trays were near empty and the Mac and cheese was dried and crusted! What's worse is that it was during the week and the trays were not being filled. I was upset that I spent extra for it. I also had a misunderstanding and was overcharged. I told my fiancée that i would NEVER come back to this location again. So tonight , Friday Nov 2nd We decided to came back for dinner and give this place a second chance. Glad I did because we had the best experience and it's all thanks to Maria! If it wasn't for MARIA I was about to never come back to this Sizzler location and hit you with that one star review. It's crazy how you can give a place a second chance and have it completely turn around and be one of the best dinners and it's all thanks to our waitress Maria. She went above and beyond to rectify a mistake, apologized on the restaurants behalf and made sure we were taken care of the entire meal. She was lovely, had a positive attitude and simultaneously took care of several tables all while having a smile! I had gone to Sizzler in Van Nuys CA many times & was happy. My senior citizen friends decided to go to sizzler, but this time in the Chatsworth, CA location, since it was closer to them. They charged each individual $18+ for a salad bar, stated they don't have the senior lunches. ( I check the Google and seemed that every Sizzler had it except them)! The salad bar was small not much food and the choices were very limited. Each time we had to ask the manager for a new plate because they were not there by the food as other sizzlers are. The senior menu in other Sizzler's has small stake, bake potato, drink & a one time fill up salad bowl for $12.99. here we paid $18 for just salad. read more

I'm super upset because the food was over cooked and i spent 98 dollars. My fried shrimp was too hard and crunchy like a rock, the grilled skewer taste like burn, and the bacon in my loaded potatoes was hard like rocks. We asked for medium rare burger and it was well done. The patty on the burger was charbroiled didn't look burned but taste like actual burn from the char. I know the difference between char broiled and the taste of burn, I told my Waitress but I don't think she cared. Her service was nonchalant, she went and told the manager, he stood up, i thought he was coming over and he looked at me and turned away like he had no care in the world. Nice friendly staff and the place is clean. But the food is not the same pre-pandemic. For $17.99 a person there's very little variety. They no longer have chicken wings and serve chicken nuggets and bite size corn dogs. Their taco was super salty and the pasta was over cooked. The hostess and or Manager was siting at a customer table with his back against the entry door wearing a plain Black polo shirt, no name badge and had a bad attitude. He approached me and asked "what I was doing" I responded that I had come to eat and if the restaurant was open which he responded Yes and pointed me to the menu at the cashier desk. It took him another 5-minutes to return to the Cashiers desk since he was sitting down and typing away at a laptop ( he really should be wearing plastic food gloves. He never greeted us other then to say what do you want to order. He asked me what I wanted to drink but the menu did not have any drinks listed. This is my second review for this sizzler. I LOVE SIZZLER! Always have! In a time where we are still experiencing a pandemic, I haven't been wanting to go out to eat so I decided to order sizzler for take out. Everything was so amazing! The steak was large and cooked just the way I like it. My boyfriend got the steak and unlimited shrimp and I thought it would be a small amount but they really made it worth it! I think everyone should really support this restaurant! The little lady who runs the cashier is also a fun experience in herself! I wish I could have tipped but I hope this review finds her! Not totally my cup of tea but a decent meal at a decent price with decent service, especially this Sizzler. All of our meals were prepared almost exactly as ordered. Steaks all cooked as ordered. Instead of a steak I went with the "healthy alternative" - the salad bar. Normally I nearly wretch at salad bars. I like things clean, neat and orderly, which is difficult to deliver considering the behavior of some diners. Maybe I got lucky, but between the like-minded diners and the constant attention of the staff (including the manager) I had a great salad bar experience. Soup, green salad, prepared salads, as well as carnitas and guacamole and House made tortilla chips. No ice cream for me though. You really don't want to know why. Would I do it again? The waiter was nice and polite but I feel this old man in front of the entrance is the owner and he just watches you eat. Signs all over like saying no sharing, and government welfare. I ordered and was asked for the tip amount before even being seated which I thought was odd but whatever, we sat down and a gentleman waiter came and said hello and took the receipt that was the last we ever seen of him. So service was non existent and now the food lol I ordered a stake and shrimp the wife ordered Malibu chicken and the daughters ordered a burger and shrimp. The stake I ordered was definitely old you can tell when beef is old and it was by far old. The rest was edible. My wife's chicken was exactly the same, chicken generally doesn't have a grey tone to the meat unless it's old or going bad. I am so glad we went and ignored the negative reviews. The majority posted it seems, when they opened. Everyone knows it takes a new place a while to gear up. We have not been to a Sizzler in quite some time, and we had heard some of the KTLA News personalities talking about this location the last few weeks. Finding ourselves in the Valley doing chores it seemed the perfect opportunity to try it out. Just like any other Sizzler we have ever been to you place your order as you come in. I think the only negative thing we can come up with is that they need to have a more realistic price for a One Time Salad bar trip for those that want to buy the typical Entree. My hubbys meal was pretty pricey when you add up the 13.99 for the steak and baked Potato, $7.49 for the Salad Bar and $2.79 for the drink. Let me say there is more then enough food available at the Salad bar that he did not need the steak and baked potato so he brought that home for another meal. So although this meal was $38 for the two of us- he will be getting another meal out of it. He now knows better - he can get plenty to eat with the Salad bar. For me- the Vegetarian- HEAVEN. My Senior Salad bar- which I sadly qualify for now- was a great value as it included the drink. I was so happy with the variety at the Salad Bar. What I thought was a fabulous touch was another area they called their "Protein" additions that had a server there. They offer things like Shrimp and other items. I think it is more sanitary having someone serve that. I think its an EXTRA CHARGE-based on the menu I read outside, but I am not sure. The Salad bar also includes some pasta as well as Taco makings. For non vegetarians there are also chicken wings at the salad bar as well. Oh and then there is that cheese bread...............my favorite part of my Sizzler meal, its classic. Their beverage selections are great including Iced Coffee!!! YAY. WIth their Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt as well as all the toppings, I was in heaven. Hubby made a Root Beer float. Staff was very nice. Claudia made us fee very welcome. This is a VERY CLEAN restaurant as well. This used to be a Carrows, and a small one at that. I can imagine it could get pretty crowded as the seating area is minimal. They are doing great with what they have and there is some additional seating in the back. We really enjoyed our lunch there. Bottom line- Ignore the harsh reviews and do not let it deter you. This location has only been open a month, so its not surprising there were some things to work out. Its a Sizzler folks and having eaten at a lifetime of Sizzlers this one is a 5 Star Sizzler. Suggestion to management- for those steak lovers it would be great to offer some kind of Managers special that would include the Salad bar and beverage. read more

Since a zero star isn't possible, this is as low as I can score. After a wonderful visit last week to this location, my wife and I returned only to be let down in every possible way. We were handed a coupon by the General Manager Benito (pictured in the review). The coupon specifies "With this coupon, purchase one entree and receive a second entree of equal or lesser value free" as its first line. So when my wife and I had placed our order and presented our coupon, the cashier informed us that the coupon was only valid if we would have ordered the exact same item. And because my wife chose the Rib Eye and I chose the Steak and All you can eat shrimp, the coupon would not be applied. We paid for our meal and sat down discussing how baffled we were. Our waitress heard our conversation and said she would get a manager to credit us back. The manager came over and said the cashier was correct!!! He indicated the GM changed his mind, and the coupon would now only be valid for two identical entrees, and despite the language on the advertised coupon, would not honor it. The managers name Velvet and she was rude and condescending. In fact, about 30 minutes into our meal, she made a point of casually checking in every table in our eating area with the typical "how is your meal and your experience?" I had asked the girl at the front about a dish. Wanted to know if what I was ordering was fried or sautéed. She had no clue. Told me one thing and when we got the dish it was the opposite. I've been waiting forever for this Sizzler to open and when I drove by on my way to work this morning, the "Now Open" sign had finally been unfurled! I know what you're thinking, "Really? Sizzler??" But I haven't been in years and I remember being madly in love with the cheese bread. In no particular order, the top three most addictive chain restaurant breads have to be Sizzler's cheese bread, Olive Garden breadsticks and Red Lobster biscuits. We arrived a little before noon and I was somewhat surprised by how busy it was. Did all of the valley know about Sizzler's opening day? I was planning all along to get the salad bar ($10.99), but my coworker pointed out that the manager's special steak skewers with rice pilaf, potato, salad bar AND drink was only $13.99, so I decided to go with that. First off, the cheese bread was just as amazing as I had remembered (we got seconds!). I thought the steak chunks were a little on the tough side, but the rice was delicious as were the crispy fries. At the salad bar you could make up your own salad or take it to the counter in a bowl where a man would toss it for you. There was also a taco bar, wings, super cheesy mac and cheese and four soups to choose from. For dessert, there's an ice cream/froyo machine with toppings to make your own sundae. Honestly, I've had some very mediocre experiences at Sizzler in the past, so I was pleasantly surprised. Though the location is new and nice with lots of booths, tables and chairs; the food is overpriced and less than desirable. Paid $15.99 for a tiny piece of weird tasting salmon (probably the rub they put on it) and some steamed vegetables. Their salad bar prices are high too-nearly $8 to add to your meal and $13.99 if you just want the salad bar. The salad bar itself looked okay with a few hot food options. Self serve ice cream, drinks, etc. Waiters were kind, busboys on it keeping tables clear. The temperature inside the establishment was hotter than it was outside in 90 degree weather. This appears to be a newer Sizzler. It is clean and fresh looking. The salad bar is up and it looked like it was properly stocked. The wait staff did not hold back on the cheese bread. I would definitely recommend this !!! We will be back !! read more
