My friend and I visited around lunch time on Saturday afternoon. The place was a bit busy. What I did not like was one server for the entire restaurant. We ordered beer and I had to go up to the counter where a lady asked me why I was there and if she could help me. I told her about our beers and she said she would relate it to the server. 15 minutes passed and nothing. I had to get up and find the server who was busy trying to keep up with the tables. The food at the salad bar was ok. Nothing was impressive. I have been to other Sizzlers and this one left a bad taste. Never going back there. They should pay attention to the salad bar selection and cleanliness of it. It should be where children can not go up there and pick on food. read more

I just got back from my second visit to this location on 6/25/2017. Based on my first experience I would have rated it a 4/5 HOWEVER, this restaurant has a lot to learn as far as taking care of their customers is concerned. I have kinda a major beef. I got there just after 11:30. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time. There was only 1 couple in line ahead of me. They took a while to figure out what they wanted, while there was 2 other employees at the next register over doing absolutely nothing. I patiently waited. After they were done placing their order I stepped up, said hello, thought I would be able to place my order, but I was put on hold so that another employee could order something. I really thought that was quite RUDE AF to be honest. The employee took a couple minutes to order while I patiently waited again. When they were done the cashier said hello and I replied with "so are you now ready to take my order". No apology or anything. I don't even think it registered in her mind that she broke a common rule of practice; customers FIRST! I used to work in the restaurant industry and we would never ever put ourselves ahead of the customer. I am going to log in to yelp now to share my experience. Also; just to note; unlike the other Sizzler locations this one does not have potato wedges or spaghetti & meatballs available which I enjoy at the other locations. I may not return to this one Other than a bad first impression (hence the low rating as customers need to be addressed first), my server was excellent, asked if I wanted garlic cheese bread, kept checking on me, and I left her a couple bucks tip, just because she was awesome!! I also think that the price of their salad bar should be a little less, especially when they have LESS hot food options than the other Sizzlers in the area. As I said I probably will not return to this location and even though I live in Chatsworth, will drive the extra miles to Van Nuys to get Sizzler the way I enjoy it, and where they treat customers FIRST! read more

I came with my family for dinner to this Sizzlers which are now few and far in-between. I ordered the steak and Italian herb chicken. The steak was decent but the chicken was over cooked, dry and rubbery. I asked the waitress if I could get a new one and she told me that it was probably going to be the same. I think the chicken breast are not fresh but frozen and old. It's ridiculous that they charge $15.99 for this plate. When I asked if I could just pay for the steak and not the chicken the difference was only $1. Yet they have a special for 11.99 with the same steak I had and Siracha shrimp. Where do they get off charging $$15. and change for my steak? I don't get it. It was just a steak and veggies. They manager never came to speak with me and the waitress was Indifferent and unsympathetic to the whole situation. She wasn't a very friendly waitress to begin with. I was pleasantly surprised by the establishment. I ordered with ease. I ordered the Prime Rib with the loaded baked potato. I skipped the salad bar today. However I glanced over and everything was cleaned up and full. I grabbed my drink and sat down. The waitress came over and asked if I wanted a Garlic Cheddar Toast or a a roll. I chose the garlic cheddar toast. It was tasty. I didn't really know what to expect since I haven't eaten here in 20 years. My Prime Rib and Potato arrived and it did look appealing. This seems to be a new concept design for sizzler. The interior design looks nice and layout is clean but I don't see this design working. This location is about 1/3 the size of a normal Sizzler reducing seating. The "hot bar" is now reduced to nacho cheese and some taco options and chips in a small basket in a hard to reach spot in the middle and mac and cheese which appears made with the nacho cheese sauce. This is now in the salad bar which also has some salad options (build your own) and about 3 or 4 popular premade salads with the soups on one side. They have their new salad station where an employee makes you a salad with premium ingredients, I get it and this is the best version of the station I've seen so far but I think that should be converted into a dessert station and use that space to add variety and ditch the premium items. I ordered a standard steak and potato. I'll add upfront I know they are still new and are working through these things and browsed a couple reviews after I checked in. I ordered my steak "medium" and when they brought it to the table the waiter was asking us if we could cut into it and make sure it was done okay. Hopefully they aren't doing this with every customer. I appreciate the effort to ensure food is delivered as requested but i shouldn't have to cut open the steak to check if the cook made it right. It was also a little heavy handed on the seasoning but it wasn't terrible and the staff need to continue working on this. Overall, it just doesn't feel like the value is there and this design highlights that impact. $15 steak and then the salad bar add on was almost $8. read more

I had been looking forward to the opening of the Sizzler in Chatsworth. I went a few days after opening. It was so unorganized. I always get the salad bar. First of all - the selections were a lot less than other Sizzlers. Secondly - after I got my food I headed back to my table and someone else was sitting at my table! My family & I went to have dinner for my husband 42 birthday Paid $70 for 2 adults 1 child 1 teen. First off the place was not busy considering dinner hours, plenty of empty seats yet most dirty we had to ask for a table to be cleaned. Second my husband ordered the steak with loaded potato endless shrimp. They brought him a small steak a platter of different shrimp w rice and a plain potato... then stated they gave him the wrong order, and left it. Then I had to call over the waiter since he left so fast I didn't understand what he said.. I asked for the correct order. Then the potato had a hair in the sour cream & when I asked to have it replaced the waiter took it back and the manager came back with it and wanted me to prove it in a very confrontational way!!! What & who does that to their customers!! After showing her a long large hair in the potato sour cream she took it back! With in 1 minute another table yelled they had a fly in their water !!! Then still after that I had to ask that they still gave him his endless shrimp it wasn't our fault they messed up the table order. Our waiter avoided us the entire time we had to move our own empty plates to a clear table my steak was pink even after I asked for well done . Sizzler was one of my favorite restaurants. After several very bad experiences at this location I won't be going back. Ever! We've been discriminated against. Ignored completely. Had the lights turned off for the whole place! They lock the doors early! And the coup de gras is that they raised the prices again, this time by about 25%. So a modest albeit so so ribeye steak and salad bar will now Cost you "with drink" about $35 each plus tip. So anybody want to spend $70 - $80 to go to Sizzler for two people? My advice is if you're going to spend that kind of money just go to the Outback or a real Steakhouse. Because in case you didn't notice Sizzler now offers two different kinds of steak; bad and worse. The ribeye is not that great and it's usually cold by the time it gets to you. Full of gristle and fat. The tri-tip is just barely above flank steak. They could offer a porterhouse or a New York strip steak or a Delmonico or many others but they only have the two steaks and for a restaurant that large and Nationwide that is not acceptable. One server who speaks English just fine waited on everyone around us speaking Spanish and laughing but refused us service!! I was so angry!! She completely ignored us on purpose! I guess American bikers aren't welcome. We (my wife and I) decided to go back after waiting a few months and tonight was the same thing. This time they took the silverware and food at around 8 PM. I had to wait ten minutes, standing right up front to talk to someone but the 2 women completely ignored me. When I finally got a bowl to get soup the containers were open and the soup not hot. Then there were no more spoons! So I had to go wait up front again! I was so angry I couldn't eat my dinner so I wanted to get a to-go box. But the waitress never came back out. We waited for over a half an hour and there were no waitresses! I went up front to where the entrances and kicked the door open so that the Bell would go off so someone would have to come up front. Even that didn't work! So I held the door open for a couple minutes, opened and closed it and finally a woman came around complaining that they were too busy. I asked her for the to-go box and she brought it. I went back to my table scooped up my dinner and we split. Things were unclean and there was food mixed in the salad dressings, things randomly floating around in there. They didn't have any dessert. Because they already taken it up! We watched them before and this is part of our series of bad experiences with this place, they lock the door early so that if you get there at 8:30 and it closes at 9 you can't get in. If you manage to get in then they start trying to close an hour earlier than what their hours say they close. read more

Gave Sizzler another try because mom wanted to go there for Mother's Day dinner. Should have known when the place was nearly empty on this holiday that it wasn't doing well. Moms steak was not edible and she's not picky. Salmon was mushy and undercooked. One bite of the tuna salad from the salad bar and I had to spit it out, it tasted like it had gone bad. I've eaten from the salad bar a number of times since the new year and I must say that the place (location) has "ship shaped " up. Well, this in regard to their lunch offerings. I gave it three time visits just to make sure to confirm my findings. The manager is in action and strictly oversees that this Sizzler is functioning correctly. I have commented to him on the improvement and he was appreciative of what I shared with him. I didn't think i would return after several disappointments last year but I just can't stay away from the garlic bread..can you? The service was always outstanding these last few times; I say as good as in some of the fancier restaurants....really. It is very sad when you return to a #Sizzler location, that as a kid you thought was great.our order last night. A Hamburger with bits of bone in the burger itself, served wrong. Two steaks one medium rare ordered, one well done. They were both well done. Fried shrimp that were so greasy they were inedible. Minimal server help was on the floor. Grubbie looking salad bar. We basically left the tip and left after an attempt by our party to try and eat. This was a novel idea, that has seen its time come and go. read more

I'm pretty disappointed in my local Sizzler. First of all, I grew up eating at Sizzler since I was a kid and have very found memories of this resturant especially with respect to my father who recently passed away. I love their food, but I place my order through Po$+m@s. I never have to do deal with speaking to a live person. With that said, when I called today I a very rude lady could not answer the most basic questions with respect resturant capacity. I clearly told him I don't want to party and I dont wish to be seated next to other people, but becasue the rude lady who took the call told him I wanted a reservation and a party, he already had his mind set up and continued with the we don't cater at this time blah, blah, blah. I practically yelled at him stating, "I don't want a party, and I don't want a reservation!" I just want a clear answer to basic questions that you have failed to answer!!!! What is the name of the Manager? You are speaking to him - my name is Douglas. Ugh... what is the name of the owner? Yes, this is a franchise and his name is Eddy. It was pretty pricey, my ribeye steak and potato and salad bar was $35. And my supposed to be medium rare steak came 15 min after my friend's meal did and it was almost well done, couldn't cut thru it, . had to send it back it was so over cooked. That being said, a lot of the service issues are due to the first month jitters. Plus It is a pretty inefficient system. As soon as you walk in the door, there are 2 cash registers(where the hostess desk usually is andyou order off electronic boards on the back of the cashregister . It's so close to the door and they are so busy that it totally bottlenecks. there was no way to stand in a line it was like a free for all with 15 people in a closet! After you order, they give you a receipt and you go find a table. eventually a server comes up takes one of the receipts and eventually brings your food. i paid with a credit card and added the tip onto my bill. But then they strangely hand you some money back, eventually i figured out it was the tip back in cash. and i put it in my pocket for later, until i got home and realized i totally forgot to pull it out and tip the server. and they didn't say anything when they hand it back to you. it was so weird. I'm sure the waiters are getting stiffed a lot, since it's an unusual and unexplained system. The add on salad bar was $8.. she should have told me how much when she said "would you like to add on the salad bar," i said yes, assuming it would be about $4 and wasn't until i paid that i saw it was $8!! New Sizzler at Chatsworth is nice and clean. Love salad bar, I think it is better than souplantation. My order was steak and Malibu chicken. I got my food quite fast, steak was quite tender and juicy. Love my steak. My husband ordered medium rarare steak, but It turned out raw in the middle. I wish they checked the temp. In the steak before brought it out. SMALL salad bar was very dried which not like the other locations that look and taste much more better. My daughter got only kid salad, she just love her magaroni cheese and little bit of green salad. But her main target was the dessert section, it looked so good, yogurt ice-cream with all the toppings. read more

Went to this location yesterday and it was so hot and steamy inside...I have never been to a restaurant that does not have ac running. It was so hot our waiter had beads of sweat pouring down his face... that's not exactly what you want to see at a food establishment. The lady who was ringing up our order was pretty unfriendly and seemed really annoyed when I asked simple questions about the drinks and salad bar...I left feeling sorry for this place... not only is it a sauna in there, the employees look so unhappy. We were a party of four and I was surprised at the order first, pay, then be seated. We ordered (2) salmon with baked potato and one with rice. We also tried the fish and fries. When the table next to us sent back the salmon for being under cooked, twice. I was worried about out meals. Almost 37 minutes later, we got our order. First the salmon with a delicious rice. Almost 5 minutes later the rest of our order was served. One salmon dish was under cooked, they were all tasty. The manager apologized and gave us a partial credit for the under cooked salmon, which was fair. The fish and fries were very good. The service isn't like a normal restaurant, drinks didn't get refilled without us asking. I'm thinking it's still a new place, new staff, new chef, etc. We might be back again read more

I went here last night after I called them asking if they have outdoor dining and the lady who answered the call said yes they do, when I got there I could not see any tables outside or anyone outside, when I went in to ask if they had out door dining they said that you order take out and go in this dark side ally way with like 5 tables. After that I was very mad that they did not tell you that is how it would be because I was going there with a group of friends so we could talk while our food was being made and sit at an actually outdoor dining restaurant. So disappointing. We got the salad bar for 13.99 each. Some of the salad items were decent but everything else was unripe, watery and bland. The coffee tasted burnt and when we brought it to the staff's attention they said that it was just made and it was "strong". I would recommend claim jumpers salad bar over this. read more

We have been here twice in the last week and absolutely love it. We have missed having a Sizzler in the area. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean. The salad bar is well sticked and has a great variety. The vegetable beef soup was delicious. The cheese bread is epic and they have my favorite peach iced tea. I am really surprised at the low ratings. The majority of bad reviews seem to be from the first few weeks they were open. We will definitely make this a regular stop whenever we find ourselves in the Valley. read more
