We were craving a good old school, salad bar and found it here! Great selection, nice and fresh. Wish there was one close to our home.

The guy taking the order, with a name badge that states "management" was one of the most passive aggressive / rude humans I've encountered. We'd never been to a sizzler before and the process at sizzler is certainly unique and this guy was no help. My kid ask to customize a burger and the guy rudely said "no problem, I'll just walk back and tell the kitchen, not like there is a line of people here". He continued down that rather passive tone for the remaining order. I could include a few more examples by no need to belabor the point. Which by the way was in radically stark contrast to how kind and friendly the actual wait staff was. So once you get past the proverbial troll at the bridge this place is worth a visit. read more

Stopped here on the way back home from visiting Snowbowl. We wanted something that was going to be quick as we needed to get back on the road. There were 3 of us. Plenty of salad bar options, a few different types of salads and toppings. A few pastas, I do wish they had more pasta options. Some fruits, puddings and jello for dessert. They do have an ice cream machine as well, which my grandson enjoyed. For hot options they had chicken wings, just plain In which they never did refill the entire hour we were there so was not able to get very many. BBQ chicken pieces is what I'm going to call it because looked like just cut up tiny pieces of chicken swamped in bbq sauce. Some spaghetti and meatballs, tacos (the meat was awful). Some chips to make nachos (which were so thin that when you used the tongs to put some on your plate they just crumbled into pieces). They really didn't have much for toppings for those except cheese sauce. I did see some guacamole but it didn't look good so I opted not to take any, some canned chilies that I opted not to use either. Really wish that offered jalapeño and some pico as that would of hit the spot. I'm thinking they don't offer much for hot selections because they want you to order a meal which we didn't do because we just wanted to be quick and get home before dark. read more

Back in September, my friend and I came here to eat lunch after running a half marathon over at Thorpe Park. If you're new to Sizzler, ordering is slightly different than your usual sit down table service restaurant. You order your food at the counter first before being seated. You'll still have a waiter or waitress check on you during your meal. For the price point, they have very decent steaks where no A-1 sauce is necessary. However, they have A-1 if you want it. I've always found that most people really like their unlimited salad bar. For this visit, I got their New York strip steak cooked medium rare with broccoli as my side and added their salad bar. My steak came out a tad overcooked, but I'm fine with it cooked medium. The salad bar was as good as it always has been. I really love their artichoke hearts and chopped pepperoncini peppers. What a disappointment. This past Sunday, I stopped into this Sizzler as a pit stop heading back to Phoenix from visiting 4 Corners. Boy did I make the wrong choice for ever showing up to this place. I thought it was "safe" since it's so close to NAU and on a busy part of town. WRONG. Since I had my 7 year old with me, I asked the cashier specifically if they had chicken tenders/nuggets at the salad bar and she said yes. Whipped out my card and headed inside. I could tell off the bat that this place has not been updated like most of them have in California where I normally would eat at Sizzler. I headed over to the hot side of the salad bar and noticed they did in fact have nuggets but no fries. No infamous sizzler fried corn ball things either. I served my son a few nuggets and went to the other side of the salad bar. It was so unkept. Salad floating in massive amounts of water. Browned lettuce. The salad bar wasn't even full. It was pitiful. I served up some Mac and cheese and chili cheese nachos hoping it would taste good but from the thick layer of dried cheese on top I quickly learned that wouldn't be the case. I also found some good lettuce in the mix of the bad and attempted to make myself a small salad. I came back to my table only for my son to start complaining about the nuggets no took a bite of one and it was HARD and COLD I would think this was a health compliance issue it was that bad. I ate one bite of the Mac and cheese and it was disgusting. I'm thinking they use the cheapest possibly old ingredients?? The chili cheese chips tasted ok but I was so nervous to eat any thing after the nuggets and Mac and cheese. Service was SLOW at best. She was nice but over worked. I would of loved to have my money back but that wasn't offered. It was pretty much oh you don't like the food? See ya. Bye. Driving home back to Phoenix with an upset stomach was not something I bargained for. So with that, I definitely do NOT recommend this place. Where do I start, the a/c was barely on, the food on the salad bar had no flavor because it was most likely soaking in water. It was hard finding a table, not because it was busy, but because most of the tables were dirty. My steak was supposed to be cooked to medium-rare, but came out between medium-well to well. Had an unpleasant experience with the manager here. My family was visiting me from out of state and none of us had ever been here. While waiting in line I noticed the menu had some dish items but also what seemed like a buffet. When it was our turn, I explained we had never been and asked how the process worked to order. The manager looked at me annoyed & said "look at the menu". I was taken aback by his attitude and hesitated, which prompted him to come around the counter and point at the menu saying "The manu.... It's right here." I was so embarrassed that I almost left but my family decided instead to just explain he was being rude and he apologized briefly and proceeded to take our dish orders. We left after without any other incidents but I don't think we'll ever be back. read more

Service was horrible, the attitude of the manager was terrible. We visited 08/17/24, 2pm. The restaurant is partially under renovation, so one side of the restaurant was noticeably warmer than the others side. Floors are tile/cement due to missing carpet. An elderly couple both using walking cane's were complaining that the tables needed clearing and there was no where to sit. The manager instead of apologizing told them that they could sit on the otherside of the restaurant. The elderly woman said "she didn't want to walk that far." The manager should have immediately had the tables cleaned without excuses! Then the elderly woman complained about the meat she'd ordered that it was tough and fatty, the manager's response was "it's only fat around the edges " We were sitting at a small 2 person table because of the temperature difference in the restaurant. It seemed like the restaurant was running on a skeleton crew. I noticed an employee scraping the edge of the nacho cheese pan, then adding hot water to thin the sauce, that pan should have been changed in the back out of sight. I noticed salad bar items being added on top of existing product, those pans should have been changed out also, you should never put fresh food on top of old. My husband and I haven't been to sizzler in decades. The cashier was very helpful and guided us through the menu. Even though we got there at 8:15, the salad bar offerings looked fresh. My husband ordered the steak and baked potato. The steak was juicy! The restaurant was clean. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. It was 7:30pm, when my family of 9 decided to stop here for dinner on our way back from seeing the Grand Canyon. The food here is pricey and subpar, not a good combo. The steak was extremely chewy even after I asked for it to be cooked medium. At 8pm they stop refreshing the the salad bar and dessert bar because they close at 9pm. The food & service was awful. It took 15 mins to get the drinks after we found someone to ask. They were not busy. The soups had 1/4 left in the containers & the clam chowder was awful. There were no wings, they said they were out. The mac & cheese was runny, there weren't any toppings for the ice cream, there was no sour cream, guacamole or refried beans for the taquitos. The blue cheese dressing was tasteless & watered down and the food is did end up eating was lacked any flavor. It was a huge disappointment to say the least. Let me take you on a journey. It all starts in Chicago, IL, and my friend invites my boyfriend and me to go across country to move her into school in LA, California. The first part of our journey was a 3 day jam packed, pure driving and trying to experience everything we can muster. In 3 days we drove over 30 hours. Then we get to flagstaff. Finally. We go to the Grand Canyon. Forget our snack bag. Eat at 8am and then nothing until 5:45pm when we were on the brink of starvation. Due to our plans for sushi falling through, and since Chicago doesn't have sizzler we thought we would give it a try. And god. Excellent. 10/10. Beautiful. Perfect. Amazing. I am (pretty much) vegetarian and so at first I was a little scared because the meals listed were mostly steak and seafood. BUT LET ME JUST START ON THE SALAD BAR. Absolutely worth the $14. Salad. Pasta. Soup. TINY CORNDOGS. Ice cream. Cookies. Amazing. I can't stress enough how satisfying this display of lettuce was. My friends are carnivorous and got steak and said it was real tasty. My friend (the LA one) is a connoisseur of fine meats and said that for casual dining it was a perfectly cooked medium rare. I will likely never go to a sizzler again due to this experience blowing it out of the water, but seriously, this was a wonderful experience and I will hold sizzler near to my heart forever. Not the sizzler that I remember from the past. Stopped to have lunch around 2:00 with only a few people dining. I can now understand why. Several salad bar option bowls were empty or looked very uninviting. Vegetables were cut in large pieces like someone was in a hurry. Super Bowl game is on and the staff was just chill. Came in for the salad bar as I knew I could get a seat and a good salad bar. but "nope" the soup was room temperature, the pasta sauce was so watered down it wouldn't even coat the pasta and let me tell you what the chicken nuggets and chicken wings looked like!! We'll see for yourself. Spoke to my sever about the chicken and his response was like he was in shock. The hot side was not up to par. I told him the chicken was refried a few times. He said I'll inform the cook in charge of that section so I waited and waited and waited. Then I told the server it's been over 30 minutes and has she restocked? He said a few more minutes I can see she is on it. I waited and then went back up to the hot side and to my surprise!!!! Nothing had changed ... well someone had taken some chicken items but the burnt ones were still there so I went back to my seat to grab my phone and walked back to the hot bar side and as I was taking photographs, the manager and one of the servers standing against the wall watching the game said is everything OK per the manager? I said, does this look OK to you? He says anything wrong I said, how about all that old chicken right there he goes you don't like it I said it's burnt and I took a piece and opened it up and it was all dried out inside. I said I asked for more to be cooked he said it would be a few minutes but it's been over 30 minutes he said can I get you something else I said like what he said from the salad bar I said I don't want any of that. If the promise of a bonafide steak combo dinner (I hope you read that in a southern accent) wasn't enough, the mere thought of tossing 3 children to the wind (aka at a buffet) seems just as appealing... especially when we usually have at least one of them pouting and shuffling bits of their food around their plate... taking a nibble here and there... you're not fooling anyone... we see you not eating. So let's go to an all you can eat buffet and see what's up! Dinner at Sizzler starts at the register... we ordered Steak and Shrimp for him, Steak and fries for me with the salad bar add on. The 3 kids get a "salad bar" experience... and I don't put quotes around that because Sizzlers selection is lacking, the options were what you might expect (as you will note in the photo of my own salad) They say the shrimp w the steak is all you can eat, but we didn't even come close to seconds. We didn't finish the Texas toast. The kids ended up with a lovely 3 course meal of nacho's, jello cubes, Mac n cheese, and it was near chaos to suggest the little one eat a little protein. The thing to keep telling your self when you go to an All-You-Can-Eat buffet is just because you can... you don't have to... you probably shouldn't... and if y'all do it anyways, make sure your phone is charged so when are committed to at least 20 min, you've got something to troll around with online. The food was delicious, we just really ate a lot of it - and so many different kinds of food... A good lesson in moderation I guess... My father's favorite restaurant was Sizzler. When I see one, I try to stop, in his honor. My sister, mother and I stopped here on our way to Albuquerque. It is a giant restaurant. There is seating for several hundred. We all got the salad bar and my mother and sister split a steak. They liked the steak, but the baked potato was still raw in places. The salad bar wasn't all that great. I felt like there were a few things that seemed redundant, like mushrooms on two sides. Half of the dining room was closed off. An employee was vacuuming. I went to use the restroom. It was clean but didn't look clean. It could definitely use some TLC. read more

Best salad bar around! Came in right when it opened to start the new year off right and was greeted by friendly staff and a clean and well stocked buffet. Was happy to hear the chicken wings are back! When we left there was a line out the door - the people have spoken! We walked in family of 7 and it's not busy actually at all. I ordered a medium well 6oz with a loaded bake Potato Received a hockey puck for a steak & not a loaded baked potato instead a regular undercooked potato. My mother in law ordered a loaded baked potato as well did not receive also she ordered a side of shrimp did not receive My father in law order a well cooked steak and his came out still living (photo attached) As well as my brother in laws steak (Photo attached ) Next 6/7 people have their food almost everyone is just done eating or not even touching their plate My fiancé still had not received his food A bacon cheeseburger So horrible experience sizzler use to be good Maybe it still is but 100% not this one. read more

Huge disappointment!!!! The food was terrible. We ordered 2 tri-tip steaks, one rare (that means red center) and one medium well (that means no red) both came out medium. We ordered salads ($5 each) and they were incredibly plain. The service was good. We also received our military discount. The server refunded our steaks. We went somewhere else to eat. BTW, the garlic toast is real good but not worth the price tag of the rest of the meal. read more

Just disappointing all around from the service to the food. The salad bar was lacking, the steak did not taste right, and no ice cream machine. My husband got unlimited shrimp, and he had to ask another waiter for more shrimp as ours successfully avoided our table. When I returned the steak was never offered a new one and only each got one drink. This was the worst Sizzler I have ever been to. First I walk in and construction everywhere. OK, I got it, it happens. Making it better. I can deal with it. It was slow, heck, half the tables were out of service. I ordered salad bars and drinks for my son and I. $34. Whatever. Not surprised. We get handed plates and a set of Silverware and told to seat ourselves. Hard to find a table. Half were oos, other half had not been cleaned off. We went to get our food. Usually by now we have a person seat us, carry our tray with drinks, seats us and offers cheese bread. Nothing. Not a person in sight. No drinks. We go over to the hot food. All are basically empty. The couple that had a couple items at the bottom were old, fried and shriveled. I couldn't even tell what they were. Nothing was labeled. Old, empty, Luke warm and all unidentifiable. My son wanted a taco. I got a shell, he wanted cheese, it was cheese water, could not have been more watered down. Then grounded beef. A small amount of beef drowning in grease. A whole tray of grease. Gross. Then I got him spaghetti with sauce and Meatballs. Sauce...nope, slightly pink colored water. That's how watered down. Between that and the grease meat, the tacos got drenched and inedible. I got salad bar and they were out of lettuce!!!! And they never filled it!!! How do u allow a salad bar to run out of lettuce!?!? Half the toppings were empty. I never saw 1 person attend to the bar to clean, fill...nothing. I couldn't believe it! We decided to get a nice bowl of broccoli soup. Again, not labeled. Again, watered down,thin, lack of broccoli and no sign of cheese in it. We went back to eat our nasty food, still no server, still no drinks. Finally while eating a tall guy that acted like he had never dealt with a customer in his life came and brought us our drinks and fast food time napkins. No extra plates, nothing about cheese bread, no small talk, no conversation at all. Left as fast as he came. I finished my food and drinks and still no sign. Still no tables cleaned, no sign of any employee. Almost done and tall guy showed up. Didn't say a word. I had to ask for refills and asked if they still have cheese bread. He brought out both when we were ready to leave. I was going to get us desserts and my son was so excited to get some but i had to explain to him that it wasn't stocked, they Didn't fill that either. We waited over 10 minutes for our drinks then we all ordered medium steaks and they were all cooked well done and we couldn't find our server to inform him that our orders were not correct plus didn't add any sour cream or chives to potato as ordered so we tried to eat our food but it was tough as leather being well done so we just left our steaks. Ok so aside from the cashier and our server being friendly and professional, the food was mediocre at best. I got a 6 ounce sirloin and rice, and that's literally all that was on my plate. It felt more like I was getting served in a diner line than at a sit down restaurant. I mean they aren't cheap, I expected some plating to make it look more appealing, would it hurt to throw a garnish or two on there? The rice was bland and my steak was butterflied and lacked flavor. I understand there May be a need to cut on cost, but as a foodie and cook myself, there needs to be some "wow" and nothing. The salad bar was disappointing, the vegetables were not fresh, there was food and dressing scattered all around the serving area and a lot of them hadn't been refilled. The fruit was old and tasted bad and there wasn't as much variety as they used to have. Not sure what's going on but I made the drive up just to come here and was really disappointed. I hope they fix it, or I hate to say it, but they like many others will not stay open. People don't want to go eat somewhere where the food isn't up to par, when you can get more flavor and better quality at Golden Corral or even In and Out Burger. read more
